WATCH: Two WWE Stars Pay Off A World Series Bet In Hilarious Fashion

Time to pay it off. Wrestlers have a lot to do to get ready for their time in the ring and sometimes it can be a big overwhelming. It can help to have a little help with some of the more mundane tasks and some wrestlers can get that assistance. Two WWE stars were in one of those roles each as the result of a recent bet, and now we get to see just how far things went. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Rey Mysterio Out Of Action With An Injury WWE has posted a video from backstage at this week’s SmackDown, where Drew Gulak had to do everything that Raquel Rodriguez told him to do throughout the day. This is the result of Gulak losing a World Series bet to Rodriguez when his Philadelphia Phillies lost to Rodriguez’s Houston Astros. As a result, Gulak had to do things such as open Rodriguez’s door, get her lunch, shine her boots and bring her water after her match. It’s certainly different. Check out what Rodriguez put Gulak through: [This post contains video, click to play] O..

VIDEO: SmackDown Star Snaps Backstage After Another Bad Night

That doesn’t seem good. There are times when it seems that WWE does not know how to present a wrestler. This can cause some problems, as it often leaves wrestlers on the sidelines with nothing to do for a long time. It can be quite nice to see the company come up with something for them, and that seems to be the case again with a wrestler who has not been used much lately. Over the last few weeks, SmackDown’s Drew Gulak has attempted to land various jobs on the show, including working on the ring crew and as part of the broadcasting team. This week saw him return to the ring, losing to Gunther. WWE has released a video ti its YouTube page, showing Gulak losing his composure backstage after the match and throwing things all over the area. There is no word yet on where this is leading. He doesn’t look happy. Check out what Gulak did after the show: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m curious about where this is going but more importantly it is nice to see Gulak ge..

SmackDown Results – April 29, 2022

Smackdown Date: April 29, 2022 Location: MVP Arena, Albany, New York Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole We have a rare taped show from Smackdown this week as the roster is currently over in Europe. WrestleMania Backlash is in just over two weeks and the card could use some spicing up, which we might get this week. If nothing else, things should be interesting as we have our second contract signing in two shows (third if you count this week’s NXT UK). Let’s get to it. Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre Inside a cage after Zayn has run away from McIntyre twice in a row. Drew Gulak, auditioning to be timekeeper, rings the bell so Sami goes for the early escape. That goes as well as expected and McIntyre sends him straight into the cage. It works well enough that McIntyre does it again but Zayn grabs a sunset bomb to send us to a break. Back with Zayn rubbing McIntyre’s face against the cage and then kicking said face into said cage. McIntyre gets in a ram into the cage of his own but Sami..

Not So Fast: WWE Star May Be Shifting Into New On-Screen Role

It’s something for him to do. There are a lot of people on the WWE roster and it can be difficult for the company to find something for everyone to do. It is not uncommon to see a wrestler sitting on the sidelines for long periods of time, which can be rather frustrating for the wrestlers and their fans. Now one seems to be back in a different role, but it might just be a setup for something else entirely. Over the last two episodes of SmackDown, Drew Gulak has been auditioning to be a part of the broadcast team, only to be beaten up by Charlotte and Ronda Rousey. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this may result in Gulak becoming a new authority figure in WWE. Sonya Deville is returning to the ring and Adam Pearce may have Gulak replace her as his secondary authority figure. This is not a guarantee though and is still seen as speculation. Opinion: Sure why not. Gulak is a name that people know and he can talk well enough, so why not see how this goes? If WWE just has to have tw..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – April 22, 2022

Smackdown Date: April 22, 2022 Location: MVP Arena, Albany, New York Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We are less than two weeks away from Wrestlemania Bakclash and it is time to start adding some things to the card. Roman Reigns still doesn’t have anything to do, though there is still the chance that they pick up whatever they stared with Shinsuke Nakamura two weeks ago. Let’s get to it. We open with the contract signing between Charlotte and Ronda Rousey with Adam Pearce in charge. After a recap video of their issues together….there is no contract. Drew Gulak brings it out and has even made a special PowerPoint presentation (it was his thing when he was on 205 Live) about the rules of an I Quit match but Charlotte tells him to shut up. She has been looking forward to this match for a long time and lists off some of the ways she can make Rousey submit. Charlotte signs and says she beat Rousey at Wrestlemania. Rousey explains the idea, allowing Charlotte to say she won at Wres..

WWE Star Begins A New Career This Week On SmackDown

It’s a gig. Being in the WWE is the pinnacle for a lot of wrestlers as it is the highest profile wrestling promotion in the world. Getting to be on one of WWE’s television shows means that you have done something right in your career and are pretty far ahead of a lot of wrestlers. However, it can be difficult to get television time, but now someone else is getting a chance in a different way. This week’s edition of SmackDown featured Drew Gulak auditioning to be a member of the broadcast team, including a backstage interview, plus an interview in the ring with Charlotte. During the Charlotte interview, Gulak suggested that Ronda Rousey made her tap out at Wrestlemania, causing Charlotte to put him in the Figure Eight until Gulak tapped out and screamed that he quit. There is no word on if this is an angle or Gulak switching to a new role in WWE. His last televised singles match was on the June 7, 2021 edition of Monday Night Raw, though he has also wrestled on Main Event. Opinion: I’..

Keep it going. We are in the middle of the 2021 WWE Draft and that means we are seeing the WWE’s rosters shaken up in a huge way. There were several picks made during this week’s SmackDown and there will be even more made next week on Monday Night Raw. However, there are some other picks being made in the middle and some of them were quite big as well. There were more Draft picks made during this week’s edition of Talking Smack. Main Event Results – September 22, 2021

Main Event Date: September 16, 2021 Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton We’re on the way to Extreme Rules, which is currently missing out on anything extreme. I can’t really picture that changing here, but Main Event isn’t exactly a show that likes changing things up very often. At best we can get a few good original matches and that’s about all. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jaxson Ryker vs. Drew Gulak Ryker powers him into the corner to start so Gulak tries a slap to the face. This goes as well as you would expect as Ryker plants him down and hits a running headbutt. A shot to the throat slows Ryker down though and it’s a headlock takeover to put him on the mat. It takes Ryker a bit longer than expected to suplex his way to freedom as the comeback is on. A top rope hurricanrana of all things sets up the swinging Boss Man Slam to finish Gulak at 5:24. Result: Jaxson Ryker b. Drew Gulak – Swinging Boss Man Slam (5:24) From Smac..

Main Event Results – July 29, 2021

Main Event Date: July 29, 2021 Location: T-Mobile Center, Kansas City, Missouri Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton The fans are back, but unfortunately it seems that the changes that had been taken place around here are not. Last week felt a lot like the Main Event days of old, which is far from exciting news. Normally I would say that I’m not surprised, but I really can’t say I am with this show. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jaxson Ryker vs. Drew Gulak Ryker powers him into the corner to start so Gulak does it to him as well. Gulak’s slap to the face doesn’t seem to be the best idea as Ryker is back with a spinning slam. We hit the armbar on Gulak as we hear about Ryker’s military career again. Gulak switches into a cravate to hold Ryker down and it’s off to a cross arm choke. Ryker powers up into some ax handles to the chest and a release slingshot suplex drops Gulak again. The swinging Boss Man Slam finishes Gulak at 5:17. Result: Jaxson Ryker b. Drew Gulak – Swingi..

Main Event Results – July 22, 2021

Main Event Date: July 22, 2021 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton We’re back to the low slow this week and that could mean more than a few things. I’m curious to see how much this show has changed now that the fans are back to energize the company, which should be a nice thing to see for a change. Then again, I’m almost scared to see what we could be getting again. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Angel Garza vs. Drew Gulak They grapple around to start with Gulak getting the better of things off a headlock. Garza slips out and takes Gulak down instead, setting up a quick chinlock. Back up and Gulak hits a slam into a clothesline for two as frustration is setting in. It’s time to start kicking away at Garza’s knee and we hit a wacky hold to put Garza in more trouble. Garza fights up and hits a flapjack, followed by the running forearm. That’s enough for Garza to TAKE OFF HIS PANTS and the Wing Clipper finishes Gulak at 5:20...

Main Event Results – July 1, 2021

Main Event Date: July 1, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton This show was turned upside down last week as it was all about NXT, which is not something you see happen around here. I’m curious to see what they have this week, but it would not surprise me to see quite the downgrade this time around. Then again, the surprises have been coming a lot faster around here and it might be the case again. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Veer vs. Drew Gulak Shanky and Jinder Mahal are here with Veer. Gulak gets powered into the corner to start and seems a bit worried here. An armbar doesn’t get very far on Veer, who shrugs off a kick to the leg and punches him down. The sidewalk slam does it again but Veer misses a running boot in the corner. The nerve hold doesn’t last long so Veer goes with a neck crank instead. Back up and Gulak starts kicking at the leg, setting up a leglock to keep Veer down. That’s broken up as well so Ve..

Main Event Results – June 24, 2021

Main Event Date: June 24, 2021 Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton It’s back to the land of random as this show continues to be all over the place. You never know what you’re going to see around here and I can’t believe I’m saying this after watching this show for so many years. I’m not sure what to expect this week and I like that feeling. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bronson Reed vs. Drew Gulak Non-title. Gulak can’t do much with the huge Reed to start as he gets thrown down a few times. Reed lifts him up for a piledriver and then throws him down instead. There’s a rather heavy headlock to set up a knockdown into a backsplash as it’s all Reed so far. Gulak’s trip to the floor lets him snap Reed’s arm across the top but an Irish whip doesn’t work. Another shot to the arm works a bit better but Reed calmly gorilla presses him. Gulak jawbreaks his way to freedom and starts in on the arm again, only to have Reed crush him. A supl..

Two NXT Champions Appearing On WWE TV This Week *SPOILERS*

Meet the new generation. WWE is a huge wrestling company and as a result they only have so many spots available for all of their talent. At some point you are going to have to bring in some fresh names as you can only do so much with what is currently available. That is where NXT comes in, and a lot of its roster has the skills to be called up immediately. It seems that we could be seeing that with two names soon. According to PWInsider.com, two NXT champions will be in action on this week’s edition of Main Event. During the show, North American Champion Bronson Reed defeated Drew Gulak and NXT Champion Karrion Kross defeated Shelton Benjamin. This comes after both Reed and Kross were brought in for last week’s SmackDown to work dark matches for scouting before possibly being called up to the main roster later this year. Reed has held the North American Title since March 7, when he defeated Johnny Gargano in a cage match. His most recent title defense took place in a six man winner t..

Main Event Results – June 3, 2021

Main Event Date: June 3, 2021 Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton I’m not sure what to expect from this show and that is a nice feeling to have. Above all else, Main Event has mixed things up a bit in recent weeks and above all else, that makes the show more fun. Main Event went so far overboard with the same wrestlers in the same matches every week and it is nice to see a few things being switched up. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Mansoor vs. Drew Gulak Gulak takes him to the mat without much effort to start for all of a few seconds. Back up and Gulak slaps him in the face a few times but Mansoor gets in a shot of his own. A headscissors with an armbar has Gulak down for a bit this time and it’s a regular armbar to make it worse. Gulak slips out of that in a hurry and starts working on the leg, but adds in a chinlock with the legs still tied up. That’s reversed into another armbar but Gulak slips out in a hurry for another stan..

205 Live Results – September 11, 2020

205 Live Date: September 11, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Drew Gulak I’ve been liking this three match structure as of late, which makes me think that it isn’t going to last much longer. The show is still just half an hour long so it’s not like I can get too annoyed about it in the first place. We even had a bit of a cliffhanger last week when Legado del Fantasma interfered in the main event. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Ashante Adonis vs. Brian Kendrick That would be Tehuti Miles. Kendrick works on a wristlock to start but misses a charge into the corner, allowing Adonis to hit a dropkick for two. A boot to the face gives Kendrick the same and we hit a seated neck crank. Back up and Miles misses a crossbody, meaning it’s right back to the same crank. This time Miles fights up and drives him into the corner and blasts Kendrick with a clothesline. The comeback is on with a series of strikes and a spinebuster gives Miles two. There’s ..

205 Live Results – August 21, 2020

205 Live Date: August 21, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Drew Gulak, Vic Joseph What does it mean when 205 Live comes to the Thunderdome? Probably not all that much as last week’s show was pretty much nothing. That’s what happens when you fall back on the same wrestlers who didn’t work in the first place and still don’t now that more time has passed. Maybe they can go with some of the good stuff this time so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Drake Maverick vs. Tehuti Miles Hold on though as Miles wants to make sure that his shiny fanny pack is placed in the corner before heading outside. After taking his time combing his hair, Miles comes back in for a lockup so he can take Drake down. Maverick goes after him in the corner so Miles hides in the ropes and stops to comb his hair. That earns him a dropkick to the floor and the beating is on, with Gulak suggesting that his former boss get him. Miles manages to send Maverick back first into the post for two..

More Details On Drew Gulak Returning To WWE

So that’s what happened. Wrestlers can come and go from a wrestling promotion at the drop of a hat. That is a pretty common situation but it is a pretty fast turnaround to see someone leave WWE and be back in less than ten weeks. It isn’t something you see every day but it can make for a heck of a story. We have that taking place at the moment and now we have some more details. Back on May 15, Drew Gulak lost to Daniel Bryan in the first round of a tournament for the vacant Intercontinental Title. The following day, news broke that Gulak was gone from WWE. That was quite the surprise, but less than two weeks later, more news came out that Gulak was already back in WWE. It sounds like something that has more to the story and now we know what it is. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Gulak did not accept any offers from other promotions during his time away. Since Gulak’s contract expired, he would have been allowed to wrestle for any promotion he wanted with no non-compete clause ..

Recently Departed WWE Star Already Back?

That didn’t take long. Like any other business, wrestling is going to see a lot of turnover. Wrestlers can come and go at any given time, whether or not they have a long term contract. Even if someone is scheduled to be around a company for a long time, they might be left at home or just not used in one way or another. The opposite can be true as well, which seems to be the case. Earlier this month, WWE began a tournament to crown a new Intercontinental Champion thanks to Sami Zayn being stripped of the title. One of the first round matches saw Daniel Bryan defeat Drew Gulak, which wasn’t exactly shocking. The surprise came the next day, when Gulak left the company following his contract expiring. That was more than a week ago though and things have already changed. As of Monday, Gulak is once again listed as a member of the SmackDown roster on WWE.com. Also, according to Fightful.com, Gulak appeared at the most recent SmackDown tapings and will appear in a segment on this week’s sho..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – May 1, 2020

Smackdown Date: May 1, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves We’re almost to Money in the Bank and this time around that means we get to find out who will be filling out the ladder matches. There are two qualifying matches left to go and that means it’s time for at least Wrestlemania rematch. I’m not sure where this is going to go but it could be an interesting show. Let’s get to it. Here’s Daniel Bryan to open things up. He loves new challenges and he can’t wait to compete in the most unique Money in the Bank match of all time. Now granted he’s a little worried about getting fined for breaking something expensive at Titan Towers. Nine years ago, he couldn’t even get booked on Smackdown and then he won Money in the Bank. Now he knows how important this is and he’s looking forward to the challenge. Bryan wanted his friend and coach Drew Gulak to be in the match with him but that isn’t happening due to King Corbin. Cue Corbin ..
