As people outside of the big promotions like AEW, we often forget that we see these performers for maybe 30 mins of television time per week, which could be much less for underutilized talents. Edge will play Ares, the god of war, who will “act as an agent of chaos wherever he goes”. According to a variety of posts on Twitter, Carmella may have been injured during a WWE live event over the weekend. Carmella was facing Asuka and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a title match and seems to have been injured when she ran into the corner. AEW star Fuego del Sol has removed all references to the company from his Twitter bio, while putting up an email address for booking inquiries. Those are the names that are remembered in a fond way for a long time to come, but even they might not have had the best time in the company. One such legend is talking about how badly things went for her at first. During an interview with NBC Sports Boston, WWE legend Victoria spoke about her beginnings with the company. Victoria began with WWE as one of Godfather’s Ho’s, despite having signed a full time contract with the company. When she started, she dressed in the women’s locker room but was thrown out by one of the other WWE stars, forcing her to dress in the janitor’s closet. Welcome back. There are a lot of people who work together to many any wrestling show work and WWE is certainly no exception. The company has a backstage staff that helps make their events as good as they can be. That is a lot easier said than done and having the right group of people together helps. Now one of the veteran backstage workers is back on the job. WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley has announced that he returned to work as a producer at this week’s NXT taping. This is Dudley’s first time back at work since he underwent back surgery in October. Dudley said he is happy to be in his new role in NXT and is enjoying working with the new talent. He also thanked God for the opportunity. Dudley has been working as a WWE producer since retiring in 2016. This pass Tuesday night was the first time back at work since my back surgery that took me out last October. Feeling great and Glad to be back, but even more glad to be back in my new role in NXT. Interpromotional arguing. There are a lot of talented people throughout the wrestling world but not all of them work for the same promotions. While WWE still rules the wrestling landscape, the rise of AEW has opened the door for another major promotion. The two companies have done battle before and now they are doing it again, this time over a former WWE star. Athena, formerly known as Ember Moon during her time in WWE, made her AEW debut at Double Or Nothing and has set her sights on Jade Cargill and the TBS Title. This led to Cargill saying that Athena has changed her look since coming to AEW, referencing meetings that Athena said took place during her time in NXT where she was encouraged to dress more like Mandy Rose. That’s good to hear. You never know when you might see someone get hurt in wrestling and it is never good when it actually happens. Some of them are a lot more serious than others, but there is very little scarier than waiting around to see just how bad someone is banged up. That waiting game had to be played again this week but it seems that things are not as bad as they seemed. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a tag match between RKBro and the Street Profits, with Montez Ford pinning Randy Orton off a frog splash. Orton seemed to be injured off the splash though, as the referee was seen checking on him after the match. Ford has seemingly referenced the incident in a Twitter post, saying “everyone is healthy”, though it is not clear if he is referring to Orton.
