Good For Them: Details On Two WWE Stars’ Contracts, Why They Are Longer Than Most

They’ll be around. One of the biggest WWE stories of the last several months has been the return of several wrestlers after their releases from the company the previous year. It can mean a lot to have these wrestlers back, especially when some of them did not leave on the best of terms. Two wrestlers in particular are back with the company and now we know a little more about it. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: WWE Teases Feud And Possible Gimmick Overhaul Last year, the Good Brothers (Karl Anderson/Luke Gallows) returned to WWE to help AJ Styles in his feud with the Judgment Day. According to Fightful Select, the team signed five years deals with WWE, keeping them under contract until 2027. New hirings are usually on three years deals but WWE COO Triple H was reportedly offering the team longer deals to make up for the team being released in 2020. The team is good. Triple H is “Underwhelmed” by Returning WWE Stars

Perhaps not everyone knows how to play the game. According to a new report by WrestleVotes, Triple H has not been pleased with several of the talents that he brought back when he took over for Vince McMahon earlier this year. The report is as follows: I’m told a handful of talent brought back in the “rehiring wave” over the summer have underperformed and severely underwhelmed Triple H & others since returning to the company. WWE Stars To Wrestle For New Japan Pro Wrestling

Crossover? There are several wrestling promotions in the world but only a handful are among the top named companies. While WWE has been the top promotions in America for the last few decades, but there are others outside of the United States with deep histories of their own. Now the biggest promotion elsewhere will be getting something of a crossover with WWE. Earlier this week, the OC (Karl Anderson/Luke Gallows) made their return to WWE after a two year absence. The two have recently appeared for New Japan Pro Wrestling, where Anderson is still the reigning Never Openweight Champion. According to Fightful Select, the team will continue to make its dates with New Japan, which are scheduled to run through Wrestle Kingdom 17 in early January. WWE is allowing them to work the dates going forward. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that shows you how much wrestling is changing these days. It would be hard to fathom WWE allowing something like this to happen in recent years yet here they..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Considers Adding A Woman To Current Stable

They might need someone new. We are coming up on Survivor Series, which will feature a pair of WarGames matches, with one involving men and another involving women. That means each match will involve two groups of wrestlers, some of which will possibly be a previously established stable. Some of those are already around, and now one of them might be interested in getting a new member. This week on Monday Night Raw, the OC (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) returned to WWE, reuniting with AJ Styles to help him in his fight against Judgment Day. According to Xero News, WWE is considering adding a woman to the Styles/OC group to face Judgment Day at Survivor Series. This is NOT a confirmed match and there is no word on who the woman might be. Early talks A pitch has been made for Team Wyatt Vs Bloodline This year for Survivor Series Alongside this WWE is looking to do Judgement Day vs The OC and a mystery Female These are both very early pitches. — Xero News (@NewsXero) Octo..

Update On The Statuses Of Three Returning WWE Stars

They have their place. There are a lot of talented stars in WWE but the company continues to move things around on a regular basis. In addition to the main stars on any given show, there are also names that are brought in to the company, especially in the last few months. Those wrestlers need to get settled in and now we know something important about three of the newest names. Over the course of the last week, the OC (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) and Bray Wyatt have returned to WWE after more than a year away each. According to PWInsider.com, the OC will be exclusive to the Monday Night Raw roster while Wyatt will be exclusive to SmackDown. Wyatt did not appear on this week’s Monday Night Raw but it was implied that he would be on SmackDown later in the week. Opinion: This is what makes the most sense as there is no reason for the OC to be on SmackDown. As for Wyatt, it really could have gone either way, but I was hoping for him to be more of a person all around the company. I’m ..

BREAKING: Reigning New Japan Champion Returns To WWE

Welcome home. There is something exciting about a return in wrestling. A wrestler who comes back to a promotion where they have been before can make for a great moment, especially if they have been gone long enough. It makes for a great moment when you see someone back in a big way and that is exactly what took place this week on Monday Night Raw with two names at once. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles said that he needed some help against Judgment Day, which brought out the returning OC, better known as the Good Brothers, comprised of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The return was rumored earlier this week and brings the team, former Raw Tag Team Champions, back after a two plus year hiatus. Anderson is the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling and it is not clear what this means for the title. Opinion: This is something that makes sense, as Styles needs help against Judgment Day and WWE could use an established tag team. The OC have been successful a..

Two More Champions Reportedly Returning To WWE This Month

They’re back too? One of the major themes since the new regime has risen to power in WWE has been returning superstars. Wrestlers who have been gone from the company for months if not years have made their returns, occasionally in bigger positions than when they left. That has made for some major moments, and now we are likely in for another pair of returns. According to PWInsider.com, the Good Brothers, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson, are expected to return to WWE as soon as this month. The team will likely join the Monday Night Raw roster and reunite with AJ Styles, who has been having issues with the Judgment Day. This comes after The Good Brothers left Impact Wrestling back in August. The team was released from WWE in April 2020 after a four year run with the company. Opinion: This is another return that will be more than a bit surprising, but it could be nice to see. The Good Brothers are one of the more talked about teams over the last few years and they bring instant star power..

REVIEW: Elimination Chamber 2018: Wrap It Up Already

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Elimination Chamber 2018 Date: February 25, 2018 Location: T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jonathan Coachman We’re only two stops away from Wrestlemania now because it just wouldn’t be right to not squeeze in a pair of pay per views between the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. Tonight is a show of pretty predictable endings but at least the Elimination Chamber matches themselves should be a lot of fun. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Anderson and Gallows vs. Miztourage Axe..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 23, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: December 23, 2021 Hosts: Josh Matthews, Scott D’Amore We’ve reached a holiday weekend and that means it is time for a special show. In other words, Impact is putting the brakes on the build to Hard To Kill and showcasing the Best of 2021 instead, which should make for a good night. The company has been doing well this year and they have some solid stuff to pick from, so let’s get to it. Of note: if a match is included, I’ll posting the full version rather than a clipped version. Opening sequence. From Hard To Kill. Kenny Omega/Good Brothers vs. Rich Swann/Moose/Chris Sabin Don Callis is here too and handles Omega’s entrance (which Striker says is a moment fans will be telling their children about). Anderson drives Sabin into the corner to start and a shot to the face has Sabin in some trouble. An armdrag gets him right back out though and we have a standoff. Moose and Gallows get in for the big man showdown with Moose knocking him around. Omega comes in, wi..

AEW Dynamite Results – July 14, 2021

Dynamite Date: July 14, 2021 Location: H-E-B Center, Cedar Park, Texas Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross It’s another special show this week with Fyter Fest Night 1 as they’re out of Florida for the first time in over a year. The big story this week is the return of Jon Moxley to defend the IWGP United States Title against Karl Anderson, as we have an AEW wrestler defending a New Japan Title against an Impact wrestler. I for one can’t wait on the recreation of Taz vs. Mike Awesome so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. IWGP United States Title: Jon Moxley vs. Karl Anderson Moxley is defending and here’s Eddie Kingston with a pipe to jump Doc Gallows before the bell. They slug it out to start and then proceed to slug it out some more, this time with Moxley winning a battle of the forearms. Back up and Anderson knocks him to the floor for a ram into the barricade. Moxley comes back with some microphone choking but Anderson kicks him off the apron for a crash. Anderson g..

Impact Wrestling Results – April 22, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: April 22, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown It’s the go home show for Rebellion and I’m curious to see how they push the rest of the card. The main event is long since set but we need more of the card being built up. We should be in for a good pay per view but some of that is going to be based on a good go home show. Let’s get to it. We open with a video on Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega, including last week’s press conference. Opening sequence. Decay vs. Good Brothers Rosemary is here with Decay. Anderson and Steve start things off with the former firing off some uppercuts. Steve gets smart by grabbing the arm and brings in Taurus to chop away in the corner. Decay takes turns on the arm but Andreson gets Taurus over to the corner so Gallows can hammer away. A shot to the mask sets up Anderson’s chinlock, followed by Gallows’ elbows to the chest and a chinlock of his own. That’s broken up as well and the h..

WATCH: Trailer For New Wrestling Animated Series Takes Shots At WWE

It’s easy to parody. As seriously as some fans take it, wrestling is something that can easily be mocked. It is a bunch of people doing a bunch of completely insane things a lot of the time but when you are inside the wrestling bubble, it works out rather well. However, if you change things up a little bit and take a look from outside the bubble, you can have a lot of laughs. That is what some wrestlers are hoping to do. Back in July, the Good Brothers (Doc Gallows/Karl Anderson) made their Impact Wrestling debuts as a big featured attraction at Slammiversary. The team was one of the biggest prizes after so many wrestlers were released from WWE back in April. As a result, Impact Wrestling suddenly had some big names on their hands with a lot of entertainment potential. Some of that potential will be on display, albeit with nothing taking place in the ring. The Good Brothers, along with Rocky Romero and NZO (formerly Enzo Amore) are working on a new series called The Gimmicks, an anim..

EXCLUSIVE: WWE Status of Jinder Mahal

This week, WWE experienced a mass layoff of both wrestlers and employees, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of WWE losing an estimated $22 million due to canceling WrestleMania in Tampa, as well as losing additional millions due to the inability to have lice ticketed events, Vince McMahon made the tough decision to end the WWE careers of names including Drake Maverick, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, No Way Jose, and others. WWE also released Kurt Angle from his position as a producer. I reached out to former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal to check on both his WWE status, as well as the status of his injury. Mahal stated that he is currently “cleared and waiting.” Mahal was last seen spending much of his television time chasing the WWE 24/7 Championship, which was a far cry from his ascension to the main event level just a couple of years prior. Mahal shocked the world by defeating Randy Orton at the 2017 Fastlane pay-per-view to win the WWE Championship, an..

Jeff Hardy Injured Over The Weekend At WWE Live Event

Flying leaps can take their toll. According to a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Jeff Hardy was injured at a Live Event over the weekend. Jeff, along with his brother Matt, were taking on the Usos on Saturday evening, when the injury occurred. Dave Meltzer reported that Hardy appeared to have suffered some sort of leg injury. This was evident at Sunday’s SmackDown Live Event in Rochester, Minnesota, as Jeff was in Matt’s corner and was said to be “limping significantly.” At the show, Matt defeated Jimmy Uso. Furthermore, at Monday’s Live Event in Sioux City, Iowa, Matt Hardy teamed with R-Truth to defeat Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The Hardy Boyz are just entering their 8th reign as WWE Tag Team Champions. You can see their victory below: [This post contains video, click to play] We will continue to monitor this story and provide any updates as they become available to us. Editor’s Thoughts: This sucks. The Hardys are getting older, and any injury that they sust..

Here We Go Again. Two More Former Champions Turn Down WWE Contract Extensions, May Leave Later This Year.

Add them to the list. One of the biggest stories of the year so far has been the amount of people to either leave or try to leave WWE. While some of them seem to be wanting to head to AEW or elsewhere, there are others who just seem to want to leave the company to find better luck anywhere else. We now have some new names on that list and they’re both former champions. According to PWInsider.com, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson recently turned down multi-million dollar deals to stay with WWE. The two are said to not be happy with the way they have been used on television, where they have only had one match this year and only five since the beginning of last July. Their WWE Network series Botch Club was dropped after a single episode for no explained reason. Gallows and Anderson’s deals are said to expire in late September and there is no definitive word on where they would wind up, though AEW and Japan are both possibilities. It seems so long ago. Check out one of the team’s most rece..

What Happened Before And After This Week’s SmackDown Live?

Double your SmackDown pleasure. Every week, you’re almost guaranteed to see some good dark matches from WWE. While some of them are going to be repetitive, they’re still matches that are worth seeing at least once. It helps if the match is a solid pairing in the first place, but there is also fun to be had in a match that you haven’t seen before. Both were true in this week’s offerings. Make sure to check out what happened between the dark matches with our full SmackDown Live results. According to Wrestlinginc.com, there was a match both before and after this week’s SmackDown Live and 205 Live tapings. Before the show went on the air, the Usos defeated the Bar in a rematch from two weeks ago during the Tag Team Title Tournament, which the Bar won. After the show was over, AJ Styles teamed up with Luke Gallows/Karl Anderson to defeat Samoa Joe/Randy Orton/Shinsuke Nakamura when Styles hit a Styles Clash on Nakamura after about three and a half minutes. Here’s the original first match..

Here’s How WWE is Planning to Kill New Japan’s Move to the United States

The two biggest wrestling promotions in the world are World Wrestling Entertainment and New Japan Pro Wrestling. For decades, the two companies stuck to their side of the world and didn’t really challenge one another. However, the competition between them has escalated over the past few years and that is expected to continue for the next few. Less than a month after Wrestle Kingdom 10, WWE signed Shinsuke Nakamura, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and AJ Styles after the four men had left the promotion. Prince Devitt also became Finn Balor. Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho are also making a major splash for New Japan. The two companies have shared a lot of talent over the years, but WWE officials are actually concerned about New Japan’s recent expansion into the US. What Happened Before And After SmackDown Live?

Double bonus. You can never guess what you might get for a dark match. It might be something fresh that you’ve never seen before, or it might be what I somehow got stuck with: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler four times in a row (plus a house show). Sometimes though you get a good one to start and a big one to end the night, which can make the shows that much better. That seems to be the case this week. You can check out our full SmackDown Live results right here. According to Wrestlinginc.com, the pre-show dark match this week saw Carmella successfully defend the SmackDown Women’s Title against Becky Lynch with Carmella getting the pin via a rollup. Also according to Wrestlinginc.com, the post-205 Live dark match was AJ Styles successfully defending the WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. This match was a short one with the Bar running in for the disqualification. Anderson and Gallows made the save and posed with Styles to end the show. Styles and Nakamura did some import..

SmackDown Tag Team Title Match Set For Money In The Bank

You can pad it out with some bludgeoning. Back at WrestleMania 34, the Bludgeon Brothers won the Smackdown Tag Team Titles in a triple threat match by defeating the defending Usos and fellow challenges the New Day. Since then the Brothers have defeated the Usos again, meaning it’s time for some fresh challengers. Those challengers were set up this week on SmackDown Live. On this week’s episode, Anderson and Gallows defeated the Usos to become the new #1 contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles with their shot taking place at Money in the Bank next month. Anderson and Gallows are former Raw Tag Team Champions and were brought over to the SmackDown Live Roster in the Superstar Shakeup last month. This was the team’s first regular tag match as part of their new brand. Check out what Anderson and Gallows had to say after their big win. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Works for me. At the end of the day you can only do the Bludgeon Brothers vs. the Usos so many ti..
