That would be a change. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as now WWE has another big budget wrestling promotion to deal with on the national stage. In addition, AEW has allowed wrestlers to have another place to go, which has led to some interesting situations. Now a current AEW star seems to be teasing a jump back to WWE after a rather nasty exit. Back in June 2020, FTR left WWE (where they had been known as the Revival), following a six year run with the company. The team has since moved over to AEW, where they are former Tag Team Champions. Dax Harwood has since announced that the team will be sitting out until their AEW contracts expire at the end of April. This week, Harwood posted a new Instagram story, which shows a piece of paper featuring a WWE logo. The brawl resulted in several major names being suspended and a reshuffling of the top AEW storylines. It’s time to wrap up the Ring Of Honor year with its third event, as Final Battle closes us out. As you might expect, this is mainly going to be about AEW stars as Ring Of Honor is less a promotion than a really big and loosely connected angle on AEW TV at the moment. They have a new home. Signing new stars is one of the most important things a promotion has to do. At some point, a company needs to have someone new brought in to freshen things up a bit. Welcome home. There are a lot of ways to bring a wrestler back after time away from the company and one of the best is as a surprise partner. That is something that can do well on its own but there are ways to sweeten it even more. Bringing someone back in the right place can make it even better and that is what took place this week to some very positive result. This week, AEW made its Canadian debut with a show in Toronto. During the show, the Embassy challenged FTR to a match later in the week on Rampage, with FTR bringing out Toronto’s Shawn Spears to be their partner. Spears has not wrestled since May 25 after being injured. There is no word on if this is a full on babyface turn for Spears or just a one off due to being in his hometown. Opinion: This was a well done setup and the place did go nuts for Spears’ TEN entrance.
