WATCH: WWE And AEW Stars Reunite In New Music Video

Together again. The last few years have seen several changes in the rosters for both WWE and AEW. This has included all kinds of releases and signings to the other company, several of which have never gotten their first major change. It can mean a lot for those wrestlers to come back together, which is what happened again recently. This time though it had nothing to do with wrestling. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Mick Foley Wants To Join The Judgment Day (And It’s Great) Former Hit Row teammates Swerve Strickland (AEW), Top Dolla (WWE) and B Fab (WWE) reunited in a music video for the music video for the Monteasy song “Price Went Up”. The group, plus Ashante The Adonis, teamed together in NXT before being called up to the main roster, where they were released just over a month later. WATCH: Mick Foley Wants To Join The Judgment Day (And It’s Great)

He’s worth something! Stables have been one of the most important recurring concepts in wrestling as they solve multiple problems at once. Above all else, it can allow wrestlers to get on television a bit more, as instead of short spots from individual people, they can appear together for longer stretches. Now a legend wants to join one of the most prominent modern stables. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Return: Vince McMahon Backstage At Monday Night Raw (With A Huge Change) Mick Foley has released his video resume in an attempt to join the Judgment Day. He Did It Again: Roman Reigns Passes Yet Another Milestone As WWE Universal Champion

That’s a long time. Title reigns are some of the most defining spans of time for any wrestling promotion, as they often serve as cutoff points in a company’s history. A long title reign coming to an end can mark the beginning of a new era, especially if that wrestler is set to become the next big star. Now a current reign has reached a mark that has not been seen in a very long time. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Mick Foley, With Lita, Sings “Sexy Kurt” On August 30, 2020 at Payback, Roman Reigns won the Universal Title from the Fiend in a triple threat match also involving Braun Strowman. Reigns has held the title ever since, and as of February 16, 2023, he has held the title for 900 days. This is the fifth longest World Title reign in WWE history and the longest since Hulk Hogan’s 1984-1988 reign, which lasted 1,474 days. Reigns is set to defend the title this weekend at Elimination Chamber against Sami Zayn. Reigns has been a dominant champion. Check out some of his time with the..

WATCH: Mick Foley, With Lita, Sings “Sexy Kurt”

A knockoff of a parody? Theme music is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s presentation. Hearing the right kind of music playing to signal a wrestler’s entrance is the right way to put people in the mood for what they are about to see. Getting it right is a very tricky thing to do but when it works, it works very well. Now we are seeing….oh you’ll just have to watch it for yourself. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On Paper: What The Contract From Brock Lesnar And Bobby Lashley’s Signing Said Back in 1992, Shawn Michaels began using “Sexy Boy” as his theme music. The song, albeit with Michaels singing the vocals instead, has been his entrance song for over thirty years and still is for his sporadic appearances to this day. During Michaels’ 2005 feud with Kurt Angle, Angle performed his own version called “Sexy Kurt”. Angle has shared a video of Mick Foley, standing next to Lita, singing “Sexy Kurt” at an unidentified event. Foley sings the song along with some fans in front of a di..

WATCH: Triple H Discusses The Future Of Hell In A Cell Match

Well, maybe? WWE is in the middle of a series of huge changes and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are ending anytime soon. Some of the changes involve the company premium live events calendar changing, but very little has been confirmed so far. Now we are hearing a little bit more about this from one of the most powerful people in wrestling today. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Do It Again: Title Change Takes Place At WWE Survivor Series WWE held a press conference after this weekend’s Survivor Series event, featuring WWE Head Of Creative Triple H answering questions. Triple H spoke about the idea of themed events, such as Money In The Bank, Elimination Chamber and Hell In A Cell continuing. Regarding Hell In A Cell, Triple H said that it was the match that made sense as a challenge match to end a feud, such as how he and Mick Foley faced off at No Way Out 2000. However, Triple H did not give a definitive answer on the show and/or match’s fate, only saying that it was “up in t..

Impact Wrestling Date: November 24, 2022 Hosts: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s Thanksgiving and that means we are in for a special Best Of show around here. You never know what you’ll see on something like this but let’s get to it. Opening sequence. The hosts welcome us to the show and promise us some great Thanksgiving moments, plus a look at Overdrive. We’ll start with Thanksgiving 2008, with Rhino pinning Alex Shelley in a triple threat match also involving Sheik Abdul Bashir. Mick Foley Says He Is Unlikely To Appear On WWE TV Ever Again

One more time would be nice. Wrestlers are in a weird situation when it comes to retirement. Unlike other athletes, wrestlers are able to keep going for one more match or appearance, as they can keep trying for one more big day. Some wrestlers are able to walk away, but it might not always be under the best circumstances. That might be the situation again for an all time legend. During a recent edition of his Foley Is Pod podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley said that he is more than likely going to turn down any offer to ever return to WWE TV again. Since he is unable to remember a written promo due to memory loss issues, Foley felt that he would be unable to help in the way that he wanted to. Foley said that he did not want to return to WWE, get a cheap pop and promote something, but rather help a wrestler or a storyline. Foley last appeared in WWE in July 2019, where he was attacked by the Fiend. Opinion: As sad as it is to see, this is one of those things that is going to happen..

Mick Foley Opens Up On Health Issues From His Career

That is never something you want to hear. There are all kinds of injuries and health issues that can cause serious problems for wrestlers. Some of them take place all at once, but there are others that are built up over time and last long into a wrestler’s retirement. Certain legends have opened up about their issues and now another is telling us what happened to him at an important point in his career. During a recent edition of his Foley Is Pod podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley talked about his return to WWE back in 2012. Around the time he was going back, Foley saw a doctor about his health issues. In addition to neurological issues, Foley had severe issues with his back. This included problems with five different discs, which have caused his spine to curve. The issue has caused Foley to be in pain and also to lose height. There is nothing to suggest that the problem can be solved through surgery or other means. Opinion: You could tell that Foley was in pain just by looking at..

WATCH: Mick Foley Releases Mr. In Your House Music Video (Hilarious)

It suits him. There are certain wrestlers who are associated with certain events. Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are most famous for their Wrestlemania performances. Randy Orton has had some incredible success at Survivor Series. Roman Reigns and Steve Austin are perhaps the best Royal Rumble competitors ever. Those are some of the biggest shows of the year, but what about the lower level ones? Mick Foley has released a music video entitled Mr. In Your House, celebrating his success at the series of WWF pay per views which were considered the more minor shows the company produced in the 1990s. Foley has referenced this moniker over the years, saying that “no one came through more when it mattered less”. Foley released the video as part of his Foley Is Pod series. I think this speaks for itself. Check out Foley’s efforts: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Well that made my day. WATCH: Mick Foley Reveals Extortion Attempt Against Him, Social Media Hacked

That’s a thing that can happen. Wrestling has changed a lot in recent years and those are not changed that can be reversed. One of the biggest changes has come through social media, as wrestlers are now more accessible than they ever have been before. That has several benefits but also several downsides, one of which was learned firsthand recently by a wrestling legend. Over the weekend, WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley announced via Facebook that his Twitter had been hacked, with the hacker attempting to extort money from him. As a result, Foley asked fans not to interact with his Twitter until he told them via video that the account was back under his control. Foley has since released a video announcing that he was able to regain control without having to pay the hacker. This is good to hear. Check out Foley’s announcement with some more details about what happened: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is something that unfortunately happens every now and then and ..

WWE Legend Agrees To New Deal With The Company

He’ll be around for a bit. Over the history of wrestling, very few stars are able to truly stand out above the rest. It takes something special to make it work that well but some wrestlers manage to make it work. There are different ways to pull this off and you know one of these major stars when you see one. Now you might get to see one of them a bit more often. Monday Night Raw Date: April 25, 2022 Location: Thompson Boling Arena, Knoxville, Tennessee Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We are less than two weeks away from Wrestlemania Backlash but we have a special milestone to cover first. This week is twenty years to the day of Randy Orton’s WWE debut and a special tribute is planned. I’m sure nothing will happen to cause that to be derailed in any way. Let’s get to it. The ring is surrounded by wrestlers and Riddle introduces us to a tribute to Randy Orton’s career. There are clips from every major moment of his career (save for that first World Title win of course) and my goodness there have been a lot of them. With that out of the way, Riddle introduces Orton, who talks about how he was actually born right here in Knoxville. Orton thanks a lot of the people who helped get him here, including a special mention of Mick Foley for turning him into the Legend Killer. There have been a lot of moments over the years, but h..

Wrestling Legends Have Different Takes On Kevin Owens’ Steve Austin Impression

The sincerest form of flattery. Wrestlers are almost walking cartoon characters a lot of the time, as they do things that no rational person would ever consider and somehow make it work. That is a style that has worked for the better part of ever in wrestling and it always will. Sometimes you see someone do something very over the top that gets a positive reaction, and that certainly seems to have been the case this week. This week’s Monday Night Raw opened with Kevin Owens coming to the ring to Steve Austin’s theme music, complete with an Austin shirt, Austin’s signature jean shorts and a bald cap. Owens went on to beat up a ringside attendant as Austin did over the years and drank a beer. The segment received some attention online, with Mick Foley praising it and Taz pointing out that Don Callis did something similar at AEW Revolution with Kenny Omega’s music. Taz also said he was expecting more from a company with so many writers. MAN, I LOVE THIS TYPE OF THING! Great job by KO t..

They Had A Nice Day: Mick Foley Married Two Wrestlers Last Weekend

That’s a side job. With such packed schedules, wrestlers rarely have that much free time on their hands. Whether it is wrestling for a national promotion or being on the road with a variety of independent companies, wrestling is a very time demanding job. It makes free time that much more valuable, especially for major events. One took place over the weekend though, with a wrestling legend playing a major role. As previously reported, former WWE stars Keith Lee and Mia Yim got married last weekend. According to 411mania.com, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley officiated the ceremony, as he had offered to do months ago. Lee thanked Foley for his service, with Foley saying it was his honor. Neither Yim nor Lee have wrestled since leaving WWE in November 2021, but Lee is rumored as a possible (yet unconfirmed) AEW signing. A plethora of thanks @RealMickFoley. Shout should you ever require me. — FreeLee (@RealKeithLee) February 7, 2022 It was an honor, my friend. — Mick Foley (@RealMickFole..

Mick Foley Could Return To The Ring (In A Special Way)

One more match (kind of)? The Coronavirus has changed a lot of things in the wrestling world and that is going to continue to be the case for some time to come. While things have mainly been negative, there have been a few bright spots, including an increase in the popularity of cinematic matches. These matches offer some different ways to go in wrestling, and now we might be seeing another legend getting involved. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Mick Foley mentioned being able to do a cinematic match during a recent comedy show. This is the same thing that Foley has said before, meaning that not only does he still believe he is capable of having such a match, but also that he is interested. There is no word on if WWE has any interest in Foley returning for such a match. WWE has done some cinematic matches. Check out how some have gone, plus what Foley can do: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, cl..

More Details On New Upcoming WWE Series

It’s a different way to go. WWE is a huge business and has been around for decades. They have also been alone atop the wrestling world for a very long time, which has allowed them to expand in ways that no other promotion has ever dreamed of doing. That is the kind of thing that allows them to try some new things, and that is what they are going to be doing with a new series. Back in May, news came out that WWE is currently developing a series called WWE Evil, focusing on some of the greatest villains in the history of the company. The series will be created, narrated and executive produced by John Cena, but there will be other major names included. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has begun production on the show and has interviewed names such as Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, Paul Heyman, Batista and Mick Foley. The series is being produced for Peacock, though there is no word on when it will There have been some great villains in WWE history. Check out some of the best ever: [This post c..

REVIEW: ECW One Night Stand 2005: This Is Fun

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? One Night Stand 2005 Date: June 12, 2019 Location: Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City, New York Attendance: 2,500 Commentators: Joey Styles, Mick Foley Oh boy this is a different one. So back in 2004, WWE put out an outstanding DVD about ECW called the Rise and Fall of ECW. It was one of the best looks back at a company that was certainly influential and had a heck of a cult following that you could ask for and made the fans want to see something more. Therefore, this show was born as a celebration of ECW’s histo..

RUMOR: WWE Unhappy Over Legend’s Comments About AEW

Can you blame them? The wrestling world has been undergoing a lot of changes in recent months and those are likely to continue for a long time to come. AEW has made some great strides forward and WWE has not exactly been moving forward in many ways. That has gone noticed by some wrestling legends, though WWE is not exactly happy with one of them. Earlier this week, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley posted a video to Facebook where he talked about how WWE needed to be worried about AEW. The video went viral and WWE seems to have taken notice of what Foley said. According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, WWE is unhappy with what Foley said as there is an unspoken rule stating that WWE Legends are not to speak negatively about the company. Foley is currently under a WWE Legends contract and there is nothing to suggest that his status will change. Foley might know a thing or two about this. Check out his time in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vid..

WATCH: Wrestling Legend Explains WWE’s AEW Problem

He’s right listening to. There are certain retired wrestlers who never quite get away from the industry. Many of them have something to say about the goings on in the wrestling world and some of them can be quite fascinating. They have the history and knowledge to offer some great takes and that is the case again, as a certain legend has some interesting thoughts on a popular wrestling topic. WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley released a video on Facebook which he called “WWE, We’ve Got A Problem.” In the video, Foley speaks on why he feels AEW is becoming a problem for WWE, which he believes is due to how WWE talent is treated. Foley talks about how WWE either changes too many things about developmental talent on their way to the main roster, such as with Karrion Kross, or just drops them entirely. He concludes by saying that if he was in the prime of his career, he is not sure if he would sign with WWE. This is quite the take. Check out the full video, plus Foley’s (full time) WWE debut ..
