They Have A Point: WWE Reportedly Very High On This New NXT Star

She has their attention. There are so many stars on the WWE roster that it can be difficult for someone to stand out. That isn’t even including the NXT roster, which has its own group of wrestlers who can do some very impressive things as well. It takes something special to stand out but now a certain star has caught the attention of WWE officials and her future is looking bright. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Violent Attack Takes Place After Monday Night Raw According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is “very very high” on Sol Ruca, viewing her as a potential star in the making. Ruca signed with WWE and reported to the Performance Center in March 2022, making her television debut in July, following her first ever match in June. Ruca’s finishing move, a backflip cutter out of the corner called the Sol Snatcher, went viral after she debuted it in December. There is nothing to suggest that she will be promoted to the main roster at any point in the near future. WWE might be on to some..

Farewell: AEW Star Reportedly Leaving Company After Three Year Run

It’s been a fun ride. AEW has come a long way since its inception and a lot of that has been due to the roster it has put together. The company has been built on a mixture of veterans, up and comers and legends, all of whom have mixed into quite the lineup. Not everyone can stick around forever though, and now it seems that one of the names that has been around for a long time is taking her leave. They Went At It: Another AEW Backstage Scuffle Revealed

It happens. With so many wrestlers around the AEW locker room there are bound to be two of them who do not get along for one reason or another. It might be a longstanding issue or it might be something that pops up out of nowhere. The latter was true in this situation, as we now know about two AEW stars who had a physical altercation after something went wrong. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s A Swerve: Update On Keith Lee’s AEW Return Status According to Fightful Select, Ricky Starks and Swerve Strickland had a backstage incident following a match in 2022. The two were in the ring at Double Or Nothing where Strickland interrupted Starks using his finishing move. They have also reportedly talked about the situation on an upcoming edition of Strickland’s podcast. There is some talent there. Add Him Up: Another Former World Champion Reportedly Returning To WWE

There goes another one. There have been a lot of moves in the wrestling world in recent months, with several stars moving from one company to another. This has mainly been between WWE and AEW but there are other promotions out there which have some talented stars. Now another of them seems to have finished up with his old home and is heading off to another place. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Discusses Bringing Back Hell In A Cell MUCH Earlier Than Expected The closing segment of this week’s edition of Impact Wrestling saw Deaner stab Eric Young, seemingly writing Young out of the promotion. This comes as PWInsider.com is reporting that Young is finishing up with Impact Wreslting to return to WWE. There is no word on when Young will be back with WWE or what he will be doing there. Young wrestled for WWE from 2016-2022 and is a two time Impact Wrestling World Champion. This was an insane way to go out. Check out the big angle to seemingly write off Young: [This post c..

Goldberg Takes Huge Shot At Roman Reigns: “I Don’t Look Like…A Girl”

That’s a shot. A finishing move is one of the most important parts of any wrestler’s presentation. Having the right signature move is the kind of thing that can make anyone look like a star but even then it has to be done in a certain way. At some point different people are going to wind up using the same moves as others, and now one of the biggest stars in wrestling history doesn’t like how another star uses his signature move. WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg appeared on the Roman Atwood podcast where he talked about Roman Reigns using the spear. According to Goldberg, Reigns has said that it is stupid to go out and hit someone hard, though Goldberg says if you can hit someone hard and not hurt them it’s pretty smart. Goldberg also said “plus, I don’t look like a, no offense, girl when I tackle people.” Reigns defeated Goldberg earlier this year at Elimination chamber. Opinion: Those are the kind of words that are going to get attention and that is no surprise. Goldberg was one of the fi..

More Details On Jon Moxley’s New AEW Deal, Surprise Appearances Possible

There is some more to it. AEW has quite the talented roster of stars and it makes sense for the company to want to lock up some of the more important members for as long as they can. In some cases this involves adding some extra responsibilities to their workload, which was the situation for one of AEW’s top stars. Now we know some more about how everything will go from here. Earlier this month, AEW President Tony Khan announced that AEW World Champion Jon Moxley had signed a new five year contract with the company. The new deal would make Moxley exclusive to AEW and its international partners while also giving Moxley coaching and mentorship responsibilities. There is no word on what kind of mentorship would be included. According to Fightful Select, Moxley’s status with promotions like GCW and Pro Wrestling Revolver is not clear, though he reportedly insisted on finishing up with GCW over the weekend. AEW’s the Firm appeared at the show to help Nick Gage take the GCW World Title fro..

AEW Rampage Results – July 22, 2022

Rampage Date: July 22, 2022 Location: Gas South Arena, Duluth, Georgia Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Jim Ross We’re finally finishing up the two week long Fyter Fest and hopefully there is a bit less shark enthusiasm this time around. We’ll be seeing some good stuff this week, including Christopher Daniels vs. Jay Lethal as we are only a day away from Ring Of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Hangman Page/John Silver vs. Butcher and the Blade Silver charges at both of them to start before Page can even get his vest off. That means Silver gets beaten down in the corner as the numbers game gets the better of it. Butcher, who looks to have slimmed down a bit, chops away and it’s off to Blade for the stomping. A suplex gets Silver out of trouble and it’s back to Page to clean house. The fall away slam sends Blade flying and a slingshot dive takes Butcher out. A top rope clothesline gets two on Blade but Butcher pulls Page to the floor for some whips into ..

Two Stars Announce Their Departures From Impact Wrestling

Catch you down the road. There have been a lot of changes to various wrestling companies’ rosters over the last several months. Different wrestlers have appeared in all kinds of promotions, with some popping in and leaving again after a short run with a company. That is the kind of thing that can make for some interesting changes, which is the case again now, twice at once. Two wrestlers have announced that they are finishing up with Impact Wrestling. First up, Willie Mack has announced that his contract with the company has expired and he has decided not to sign a new one. During his time in the company, Mack is a former X-Division Champion. Second, Jonah has also seemingly announced his departure, saying that he will see Impact down the road. Jonah debuted with the company in November and is expected to begin working with New Japan Pro Wrestling full time. Both Mack and Jonah lost their final matches this week on Impact wrestling. After last nights Impact episode I am no longer wit..

REVIEW: Backlash 2007: That’s Some Fast Finishing

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Backlash 2007 Date: April 29, 2007 Location: Phillips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia Attendance: 14,500 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole, Taz, John Bradshaw Layfield, Joey Styles It’s the Wrestlemania followup show and the company is still on something of a hot streak. We have a big double main event as Batista challenges Undertaker for the Smackdown World Title in a Last Man Standing match and John Cena defends against Edge, Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton. That’s enough star power, plus Vince McMahon g..

Something Happened At WrestleMania That Has Never Happened Before

There is a first time for everything. There are all kinds of wrestling moves in a match but only a handful of them are among the most well known. Many of these best known moves are finishing moves that wrestlers have turned into their signature offense. Those moves often signal the end of the match, but that is not always the case. It wasn’t the case this weekend, and it was kind of an historic moment. During Night One of WrestleMania 38, Drew McIntyre defeated Happy Corbin. At one point in the match, Corbin hit McIntyre with his End of Days finisher but McIntyre kicked out. This is the first time that anyone had ever kicked out of the move, making it one of the longest protected finishers in WWE history. Corbin debuted on the main roster on the night after WrestleMania 32, one day shy of six years ago, during which no one had kicked out of the move. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that kind of sneaks up on you and that can be rather interesting. Sometimes you don’t realize just h..

LOOK: WWE Officially Reveals WrestleMania 38 Set

That’s the first step. WrestleMania 38 takes place this weekend and that means the finishing touches should have already been made for the card. Whether WWE is ready or not, the show is in less than two days and the fans are already in Texas for the event. WWE needs to have everything ready, and now they have covered one of the biggest things they have left. WWE has released a video, officially revealing the WrestleMania 38 set. The video features WWE broadcasters Pat McAfee and Michael Cole, plus sports comedy team Dude Perfect. The set has a large WRESTLEMANIA logo in the middle in front of a large blue star. WrestleMania 38 will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3. That’s pretty cool. Check out the set reveal: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those things that will never get old as WWE knows how to make WrestleMania feel like the most important event of the year. Just getting to see the whole thi..

AEW Star Returns To The Ring After Year Long Injury

Welcome back. Injuries are a terrible thing in wrestling as they can take someone out of action for any length of time. While there are some that are not as bad as others, there are also injuries that keep can keep wrestlers out of action for a long time. That is never good to see, but it can make for some great moments when they return. That was the case this week after a long layoff. Darius Martin made his return to the ring this week on AEW Dynamite. Martin teamed with his brother Dante under their Top Flight moniker in a tag team battle royal, finishing runners up to the Young Bucks. The match was Darius’ first since February 2021 when he tore his ACL. There is no word on when Darius will return to the ring as a singles wrestler or if Top Flight will be continuing as a team. Opinion: This was one of those nice things to see and Darius looked awesome when he returned. It is great to see him get back in the ring and show that he doesn’t seem to have lost a step. Top Flight was a te..

More On Recent AEW Debut And Signing

He’s a new one. The rise of AEW has allowed for a lot of new things, but one of the most important is a new high level platform for wrestlers to work on. After about twenty years of WWE being the only place to go, AEW has allowed for things to be shaken up. Several wrestlers get a new place to go and that was the case again last week. Now we know a little more about him. Last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw the debut of Buddy Matthews, formerly known as Buddy Murphy in WWE, who joined the House of Black. According to Fightful Select, AEW began talks with Matthews back in the fall, though it is not clear when the two sides came to an agreement. Impact Wrestling also made a play for Matthews but were unable to land him. Matthews is said to have made a good first impression, which was made even better when he declined to use a spot because it involved using another wrestler’s finishing move. Opinion: It’s cool to see Matthews showing up again because he really was one of the more int..

NXT LVL Up Results – February 18, 2022 (Debut Episode)

NXT LVL Up Date: February 18, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness It’s a new show, which seems likely to be a fresh coat of pain with a new name for what 205 Live has been for the last several months. That does not exactly get my attention going, but 205 Live has been decent enough recently. Granted some of that was due to how short the show has been and that might be changing. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here are Joe Gacy and Harland for a chat. Gacy says that he told us he was an agent of change and now everyone is welcome around here. That’s why Harland will be in the first match on this show. Harland vs. Javier Bernal Harland hammers him in the corner and tosses him right back out of it. Bernal’s face is rammed into the mat over and over but he comes back with forearms and a dropkick. That’s broken up with no trouble and a belly to back slam (ala John Cena’s finishing sequence) gives Harland the pin at 2:04...

LOOK: AEW’s Britt Baker Appears In Sneaky Freaky Segment, Lockjaws Host

It comes with the job. A company’s champions tend to be its biggest stars, which makes a lot of sense. Most of the time, the more popular and successful wrestlers will be holding the gold, though that does bring some extra responsibility. Some of these responsibilities can include making various media appearances, which was the case for an AEW star this week. This time though, things got physical (in a way). AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker appeared on a recent episode of the Nick Cannon Show during the Sneaky Freaky segment. Baker was initially announced as a dentist, before also revealing that she was a professional wrestler. She would go on to talk about getting into wrestling and balancing her two careers, as well as putting Cannon in her Lockjaw finishing hold. Thanks for the invite @NickCannon ? D??M??D?? @NickCannonShow pic.twitter.com/wZmGE95ZjK — Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (@RealBrittBaker) January 21, 2022 Opinion: The more you think about it, the more amazing Baker r..

Former Impact Wrestling Champion Officially A Free Agent

Sometimes you need to move on. The wrestling world has been changing a lot as of late and some of the moves have made things a lot more interesting. One of the biggest changes has been the movement of wrestlers from one promotion to another as it can be fascinating to see where someone winds up. We might be finding that out again as someone is taking their leave. Former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champion Kiera Hogan has announced that she is finishing up with Impact Wrestling after this week’s television tapings. The announcement was made on her OnlyFans account courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com. There was no reason given for her departure, other than Hogan saying she wanted to see what else is out there. Hogan is best known for her time as part of Fire N Flava with Tasha Steelz, with the team becoming the only two time Knockouts Tag Team Champions. She has been with Impact Wrestling since 2017. Hogan was good in Impact Wrestling. Check out what she did there: [This post contai..

WATCH: Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton From Money in the Bank 2017

The Maharaja defends his title. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at the 2017 Money in the Bank pay-per-view. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The Modern-Day Maharaja didn’t just defeat The Apex Predator to retain the WWE Championship he won in shocking fashion last month at WWE Backlash, he did it in front of Orton’s hometown crowd and a cadre of “St. Louis Legends” at ringside that included Greg Gagne, Larry “The Axe” Hennig, Baron Von Raschke, Sgt. Slaughter, Ric Flair and The Viper’s father, “Cowboy” Bob Orton. With that kind of support, Orton was feeling it from the second he walked through the curtain, and the crowd’s chants of “RKO” very nearly willed The Viper to hit his fearsome finishing move just seconds into the match. But thanks to an assist from The Singh Brothers, Orton found himself flip..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – June 28, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: June 28, 2021 Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’ll wrap up the first half of the year as we are on the way towards the Money In The Bank. A lot of the spots have already been filled in and this week we are finishing up the Raw’s men’s qualifiers with a triple threat match. I’ll take that over the building momentum matches so let’s get to it. Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville tell us that Randy Orton is out of the triple threat match for reasons beyond WWE’s control. Therefore we are going to have a battle royal for the spot….but here is Riddle with a (football shaped) letter from Orton, saying Riddle should get the spot. The bosses think Riddle wrote the letter, mainly because most of these words aren’t real and there is a viper drawn in the corner. Riddle offers to wrestle on Orton’s behalf and giving Orton the spot if he wins. Deal. Battle Royal Riddle, Erik, Ivar, Jinder Mahal, Angel Garza, R-Tr..

RUMOR: VIDEO: New Star Coming To NXT UK, Likely Identity

She’s a new one. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent years as the ability to see wrestling from around the world has made scouting talent that much easier. A very skilled wrestler from a completely different part of the world can now be seen anywhere and ultimately brought in to a promotion. That might be the case again, as an international star might be teasing a new home. This week on NXT UK, a vignette aired for a new female wrestler signing with the promotion. The woman opened a briefcase and signed a contract under the name “Blair Davenport”. While not confirmed, there is a possibility that Davenport will be portrayed by Bea Priestley, who reportedly signed with WWE earlier this year after finishing up her commitments in Japan. There is no word on when Davenport will debut. This could be big. Check out the vignette and what we might be seeing with Davenport: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains v..
