The show opened with the Men’s Royal Rumble match, which saw Gunther enter at #1 and set a new longevity record for the match. That’s it? There are a lot of titles under the WWE umbrella and some of them are among the most well known championships in all of wrestling. It means a lot for a wrestler to win one of them but it can also mean a lot for someone to lose it as well. This time though, someone seemed to have lost a title, though not in the traditional way. She might even be happy about it. This week on Monday Night Raw, Nikki Cross defeated Dana Brooke to become the new 24/7 Champion. Later in the night, Cross was seen walking backstage where she threw the title in the trash without saying anything. While not confirmed, this could suggest that the title is being dropped, possibly as a call back to the WWF Women’s Title being dropped in the trash on Monday Nitro in 1995. Major Update On WWE Investigation Into Vince McMahon, Staggering Cost Revealed

And that’s that. There have been all kinds of wrestling changes taking place throughout the year but nothing has come close to the retirement of Vince McMahon from WWE. McMahon officially retired from WWE in July, with the announcement coming during an official internal WWE investigation into McMahon’s reported affair with a WWE employee. The investigation continued after McMahon’s retirement and now we have quite the development. WWE held its Q3 earnings call on Wednesday, where they officially announced that the investigation into McMahon was finished. The investigation came with an $18 million expense, though McMahon had agreed to pay “reasonable” costs for the investigation which was not covered by insurance. The report also says that McMahon can “effectively exercise control over our affairs”, meaning he could run WWE again, but according to Fightful Select, there is no chance that this will happen. They’re up next. AEW has built up a rather diverse and talented roster in its time. The company features a mixture of young, up and coming stars, current names and veterans, who have come together to create a mixture of matches and wrestlers. New names still need to be added though and that was the case again this week as three more names made their AEW debuts. The main event of this week’s AEW Rampage saw FTR and Shawn Spears defeat the Embassy in a six man tag match. Following the match, the Kingdom, comprised of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis, interrupted in their AEW debuts. The Kingdom and the Embassy then joined forces to attack FTR until Samoa Joe and Wardlow made the save. This comes less than a week after the Kingdom reportedly finished up with Impact Wrestling. RUMOR: Kevin Dunn Most Likely Done In WWE

This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. According to a report from Cageside Seats, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics said on Busted Open Radio that longtime WWE producer Kevin Dunn will most likely be finished with the company. This comes after the announcement that Vince McMahon was retiring and on his way out of WWE. Thurston said that he has heard that Dunn and new Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon “don’t like each other,” while Wade Keller of PWTorch states that Dunn is not a “Triple H guy.” Keller thinks that Dunn will be out “about a year from now.” Dunn has been employed by WWE for almost 40 years and has grown from Associate Producer to Executive Producer & Chief, Global Television Distribution. However, he is generally not spoken of very highly by current and former talent, current employees, and wrestling fans in general. Not so fast? We are less than three days away from WWE Hell In A Cell and the card is not quite finished. So far there are only six matches set for the show and that leaves a few spots left to fill. There are also currently no SmackDown wrestlers on the show, which means WWE might be needing to add some in. Now we might know some more names who are not expected for the show. This week on Monday Night Raw, Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos in a Champions Contenders match. As a result, Riddle and Nakamura will receive a shot at the titles at some point in the future. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, the title match is expected to be held at Money In The Bank rather than Hell In A Cell. As a result, the expected Riddle vs. Roman Reigns match at Money In The Bank is not likely taking place either.
