LOOK: NXT Star Suffers Nasty Injury At Vengeance Day (Contains Slightly Graphic Photo)

Ouch! There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them can come out of nowhere. While several injuries are the result of years of wear and tear, occasionally you will see someone get hurt in the blink of an eye. Some of the worst instances of this involve injuries that are obvious to anyone watching, which was the case again this weekend with a nasty looking situation. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Hand Them Over: Multiple New Champions Crowned At NXT Vengeance Day The opening match of this weekend’s NXT Vengeance Day saw Wes Lee successfully defend the North American Title against Dijak. At some point during the match, Dijak suffered an injury to his finger, which appeared to be either broken or dislocated. The New King: Gunther Sets Impressive All Time Record In Royal Rumble Match

Down it goes. Wrestling is like any other sport in a lot of ways, including by having numbers and statistics play a huge role. There are certain records that are well known among wrestling fans, but every now and then one of those numbers will fall. It can be a big deal when something like that happens, and it happened again in a big way this weekend on a grand stage. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Homecoming: Surprise Return Kicks Off WWE Royal Rumble This weekend, WWE presented its annual Royal Rumble event. The show opened with the Men’s Royal Rumble match, which saw Gunther enter at #1 and set a new longevity record for the match. Gunther lasted 1:11:25, breaking Rey Mysterio’s record of 62:12 set in 2006. Commentary did make it clear that Gunther’s record was in traditional Royal Rumble matches, as Daniel Bryan lasted 74:12 in the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018, though that match had 50 entrants compared to the traditional 30. Gunther finished as the match’s runner up to Cody Rhodes. Th..

One More Ride? Update On The Shield Reuniting In WWE Anytime Soon

Don’t get your hopes up. There have been a lot of great stables throughout WWE’s history, with some of the better ones being around in recent years. It makes sense for a stable to be successful in modern wrestling, as there is a heck of a lot more television time for the teams to dominate. WWE name dropped a very successful stable recently, but a reunion does not seem likely. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Nikki Cross Teases Return Of Former Stable Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins and United States Champion Theory had a face to face confrontation. During their talk, Theory said that Rollins was the third most successful member of the Shield. This comes as WWE recently finished celebrating the ten year anniversary of the Shield’s WWE debut at Survivor Series 2012. This led to some speculation about a possible Shield reunion in WWE, but this is not likely at the time. Earlier this year, Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose of the Shield) signed a new deal with AEW, which..

Farewell Then: Wrestling Legend Reveals His Upcoming Retirement Plans

Hanging them up. Wrestlers have a weird situation when it comes to retirement. Since they can always wrestle one more match and then step away again, it is hard to find someone who actually retires and then stays gone for good. Those moments are fairly rare, but you hear about them quite often. Now we are hearing about another legend who has an end date in sight. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: ACTION! Chris Jericho Lands Role In Upcoming Wrestling Film During a recent edition of his ARN podcast, Arn Anderson announced that he had a year and a half left in his AEW contract and that he planned to retire when that was up. Anderson spoke about wanting to train his son Brock and help him get ring time, be it in AEW or on the independent circuit. Arn also originally said that he would be finished in 2023, but later sent out a message on Twitter, saying that he misspoke and had a year and a half left on his contract, which would end in the middle of 2024. A revision of my statement on @adfreeshows..

Multi-Talented: Becky Lynch Filmed Role For Marvel Movie

That’s a big one. Wrestlers have a weird relationship with acting, as they are seen as actors in the ring, but are rarely able to land traditional acting roles as anything beyond a wrestler or some kind of a fighter. You do see someone break through occasionally though and that can make for some interesting moments. Now another WWE star seems to have landed a big acting role, but it isn’t something we can see. According to Fightful Select, WWE’s Becky Lynch filmed a post credits scene for the Marvel movie “The Eternals”, but her scene did not make it into the finished film. There is no word on what the scene would have been, but it was described as being “too depressing”. There is still a chance that Lynch could wind up in another film down the line, though there is no word on what it could be. Lynch is very talented in the ring too. Oh No: Kevin Owens Injured At WWE Live Event

That’s never good. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to any wrestler and you never want to see one take place. Any wrestler can be injured at any point in time and there is nothing to suggest when it is going to happen. This is true of any star and unfortunately a bigger WWE name has suffered what could be a pretty serious injury in the ring. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: That Explains It: Backstage Reason For Awkward SmackDown Spot According to F4WOnline.com, Kevin Owens was injured during a WWE live event in Madison, Wisconsin over the weekend. Championship Dropped In The Trash On Monday Night Raw, Possibly Finished

That’s it? There are a lot of titles under the WWE umbrella and some of them are among the most well known championships in all of wrestling. It means a lot for a wrestler to win one of them but it can also mean a lot for someone to lose it as well. This time though, someone seemed to have lost a title, though not in the traditional way. She might even be happy about it. This week on Monday Night Raw, Nikki Cross defeated Dana Brooke to become the new 24/7 Champion. Later in the night, Cross was seen walking backstage where she threw the title in the trash without saying anything. While not confirmed, this could suggest that the title is being dropped, possibly as a call back to the WWF Women’s Title being dropped in the trash on Monday Nitro in 1995. The title had been active since May 2019. Opinion: At the end of the day, the 24/7 Title has been around for about three and a half years but it has lost a lot of steam in recent months. The title is almost never seen on WWE TV and is r..

Major Update On WWE Investigation Into Vince McMahon, Staggering Cost Revealed

And that’s that. There have been all kinds of wrestling changes taking place throughout the year but nothing has come close to the retirement of Vince McMahon from WWE. McMahon officially retired from WWE in July, with the announcement coming during an official internal WWE investigation into McMahon’s reported affair with a WWE employee. The investigation continued after McMahon’s retirement and now we have quite the development. WWE held its Q3 earnings call on Wednesday, where they officially announced that the investigation into McMahon was finished. The investigation came with an $18 million expense, though McMahon had agreed to pay “reasonable” costs for the investigation which was not covered by insurance. The report also says that McMahon can “effectively exercise control over our affairs”, meaning he could run WWE again, but according to Fightful Select, there is no chance that this will happen. McMahon is described as being “done, done” with WWE. Opinion: This isn’t a major..

Emma Opens Up About WWE Return After Five Year Absence

It’s good to be back. There have been a lot of stars returning to WWE in the last few months and those returns do not seem to be slowing down whatsoever. It can be a big deal when someone returns after months if not years away and that was the situation last week. Now the latest returning star is opening up about her return, as it was quite the special moment. Last Friday on SmackDown, Emma made a surprise return, answering Ronda Rousey’s open challenge in a losing effort. Emma has since responded to her return with both a tweet and an Instagram post. The latter is simply saying “home” while the Instagram post talks about how she left WWE nearly five years ago to the day before getting to return with some “unfinished business”. Three New Stars Make AEW Debuts On Rampage (Contains Mild Spoilers)

They’re up next. AEW has built up a rather diverse and talented roster in its time. The company features a mixture of young, up and coming stars, current names and veterans, who have come together to create a mixture of matches and wrestlers. New names still need to be added though and that was the case again this week as three more names made their AEW debuts. The main event of this week’s AEW Rampage saw FTR and Shawn Spears defeat the Embassy in a six man tag match. Following the match, the Kingdom, comprised of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis, interrupted in their AEW debuts. The Kingdom and the Embassy then joined forces to attack FTR until Samoa Joe and Wardlow made the save. This comes less than a week after the Kingdom reportedly finished up with Impact Wrestling. Opinion: You can’t say that Tony Khan isn’t committed to the Ring Of Honor stuff as the brand seems to have landed even more stars. I’m not sure what that is going to mean but at least they have some..

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is interested in bringing in former Ring Of Honor World Champion Matt Taven, who has reportedly finished up with Impact Wrestling. In addition, former Impact Wrestling and Ring Of Honor stars Vincent and Dutch were reportedly backstage this week at Monday Night Raw. There is nothing to suggest that WWE has signed any of them or officially offered them a deal. Opinion: That is quite the turn of events and I could go for seeing it happen. Taven is someone who seems to have all of the talent he could hope for and having him in WWE would be great to see. Dutch and Vincent could be great ..

RUMOR: Kevin Dunn Most Likely Done In WWE

This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. According to a report from Cageside Seats, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics said on Busted Open Radio that longtime WWE producer Kevin Dunn will most likely be finished with the company. This comes after the announcement that Vince McMahon was retiring and on his way out of WWE. Thurston said that he has heard that Dunn and new Co-CEO Stephanie McMahon “don’t like each other,” while Wade Keller of PWTorch states that Dunn is not a “Triple H guy.” Keller thinks that Dunn will be out “about a year from now.” Dunn has been employed by WWE for almost 40 years and has grown from Associate Producer to Executive Producer & Chief, Global Television Distribution. However, he is generally not spoken of very highly by current and former talent, current employees, and wrestling fans in general. We will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they are made available. Editor’s Opinion: This doesn’t surprise me, and I think thi..

WATCH: John Cena vs. Kevin Owens From Battleground 2015

The battle continues. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between John Cena and Kevin Owens for the United States Championship from Battleground 2015. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: After absorbing some serious punishment from K.O. in the early goings of this anticipated rubber match, Cena caught Owens with an Attitude Adjustment, a maneuver that somehow only garnered a two-count. With frustration beginning to set in, Cena attempted to go high-risk, taking the challenger to the top rope for a superplex. Anticipating Cena’s next move, Owens reversed the maneuver, sending The Champ crashing down hard on his left shoulder. Cena reeled following that sickening impact, but this fight was far from finished. Dazed and visibly pained, Cena evaded a Pop-up Powerbomb from his opportunistic foe and again went for the Attitude Adjustment. However, Owens quickly countered with..

Come Back? Another Top Star Departing Impact Wrestling

Catch you later maybe? There are a lot of wrestling promotions throughout the world and some of the top ones are well known due to their major stars. You can see some wrestlers from around the world coming to a variety of promotions to show off their abilities. However, at some point they have to leave, and that was the case again this week as a top international star moved on. According to PWInsider.com, Jay White has finished up with Impact Wrestling and will be focusing on New Japan. White will have a busier schedule for New Japan, meaning that he will not have time for Impact Wrestling. While Impact Wrestling would love to have White back whenever possible, he is currently not booked for anything with the company. There is no word on when he could come back. Opinion: I don’t think this is the biggest surprise, as White is one of the top stars in the world while Impact Wrestling has not been a major promotion in a long time. Impact Wrestling was not going to be able to keep him so..

Maybe Later: WWE Makes Strange Decision For Future Usos Tag Team Title Defense

Not so fast? We are less than three days away from WWE Hell In A Cell and the card is not quite finished. So far there are only six matches set for the show and that leaves a few spots left to fill. There are also currently no SmackDown wrestlers on the show, which means WWE might be needing to add some in. Now we might know some more names who are not expected for the show. This week on Monday Night Raw, Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos in a Champions Contenders match. As a result, Riddle and Nakamura will receive a shot at the titles at some point in the future. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, the title match is expected to be held at Money In The Bank rather than Hell In A Cell. As a result, the expected Riddle vs. Roman Reigns match at Money In The Bank is not likely taking place either. Opinion: This is the latest decision that makes me wonder what the heck WWE is thinking these days. Not only are we supposed to ..
