Ring Of Honor Date: March 9, 2023 Location: Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman We’re still on the first taping of this new show so things are likely to look like they did last week. The wrestling itself was pretty good, but the length of the show was quite the drag. They did offer something big at the end with Eddie Kingston showing up to challenge Claudio Castagnoli, so there is at least a path forward in the main event. Let’s get to it. TV Title: Samoa Joe vs. Tony Deppen Joe is defending and works on the wrist to start. For some reason Deppen strikes away, earning himself a beating in the corner. Deppen fights back though and hits a running corner dropkick. A knee gives Deppen two more but Joe Rock Bottoms him out of the corner. This is the Roadblock special, because we need a special event less than a month before what is probably the biggest NXT event of the year. Since the NXT Champion is in a six man tag, the real main event is probably Shawn Michaels appearing on the Grayson Waller Effect. NXT has teased Michaels fighting Waller, so odds are we see who is doing it in Michaels’ place this week. Let’s get to it. We open with Tiffany’s Epiphanies, as Tiffany Stratton runs down the card and talks about how we got here. Tony D’Angelo vs. Dijak This is the Jailhouse Street Fight, meaning a casket match with a jail cell. Dijak tries a nightstick to start but gets clotheslined to the floor instead. It’s way too early to send Dijak into the cell but D’Angelo fights his way out of it too. After Stacks gets knocked down, they head back inside where Dijak hits High Justice onto a chair. There is a good chance that we get his Wrestlemania match set up this week, as he is running out of time. Other than that, we also get a face to face staredown between Logan Paul and Seth Rollins. Let’s get to it. The Bloodline (Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa) arrived earlier today, with Heyman reiterating Roman Reigns’ orders to deal with Sami Zayn. Now Zayn escaped on Friday, so he must be here in Boston tonight. Instead, Sikoa is going to solve the Kevin Owens problem tonight, and Jimmy will solve Zayn, whether Jey is here or not. NXT LVL Up Date: February 10, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Byron Saxton, Blake Howard So somehow, we’re coming off what was an actually entertaining episode last week. If they can keep up that energy this week, it should be another breeze of the show. What makes it more confusing is that it shouldn’t be hard to send in another middle of the road star to boost things up a bit. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We meet new commentator Blake Howard. Tank Ledger vs. Kale Dixon They trade wristlocks to start until Ledger takes him down with an armbar. An armdrag sets up another armbar and a World’s Strongest Slam gives Ledger two. Dixon manages to send him into the corner though and a neckbreaker gets two. Ledger fights out of a chinlock and a cartwheel into a splash gets another near fall. It’s the go home show for Vengeance Day and that means it is time for the hard sell, which is one of the things NXT tends to do best. In addition to the build towards the show, we also have the long awaited Creed Brothers vs. Indus Sher match, which has been postponed at least once before. Let’s get to it. Indus Sher vs. Creed Brothers Jinder Mahal and Ivy Nile are here too. Julius and Veer slug it out to start with neither getting anywhere. Brutus comes in to slug away at Sanga in the corner but Sanga takes over with the power. It’s back to Julius, who gets dropped throat first onto the top rope to put him in trouble as well. A reverse Beverly Bomb crushes Julius again and we hit the chinlock. Julius fights up and manages to get over to Brutus for the hot tag. Rampage Date: January 27, 2023 Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Chris Jericho We’re still in Kentucky and in this case that means it’s time for Hangman Page to face Wheeler Yuta on his way to next week’s showdown with Jon Moxley. Other than that, Jamie Hayter is in a Women’s Title eliminator match and we should be in for a treat there. The show continues to be up and down, but maybe they can make it work this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Hangman Page vs. Wheeler Yuta Yuta knocks him into the corner to start and hammers away. The Octopus has Page in early trouble before Yuta switches to the legs. They trade slaps to the face until Yuta bridges back into a leglock. Page fights up and knocks Yuta down for a change and a fall away slam sends Yuta to the apron. NXT LVL Up Date: January 13, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Sudu Shah, Byron Saxton As usual, LVL Up has me wondering what in the world I should be expecting. It might be a boring show, it might be a show with some slightly bigger NXT names or it might be a show that winds up being rather entertaining. It really is a show that could go anywhere, but it would be nice to have some more consistency. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Von Wagner vs. Oba Femi Mr. Stone is here with Wagner, who powers Femi into the corner to start. A running shoulder drops Femi but he’s back with a running shoulder of his own. This week we’ll be seeing another match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, which should have some Bloodline implications. In addition, Gunther is defending the Intercontinental Title against Braun Strowman. Let’s get to it. Intercontinental Title: Braun Strowman vs. Gunther Strowman is challenging and wearing boots designed by a boy who died in the Waukesha parade shootings. Feeling process to start as Gunther is a bit hesitant to go after him. Strowman manages to send him outside though and the running shoulder sends Gunther into the announcers’ table. That could mean quite a few things, but we do have a TNT Title match as new champion Darby Allin defends against Matt Taven. That would be quite the segment and it will determine most of the Deadline card. The main event is a rather big six woman tag so let’s get to it. Indi Hartwell vs. Roxanne Perez Hartwell powers her around to start but Perez dropkicks her down. The chinlock goes on to slow Hartwell up but she fights up and sends Perez crashing out to the floor. Back in and a boot to the face drops Perez and a hard clothesline gives Hartwell two. A sideslam sets up the chinlock but Perez is up rather quickly. After nearly forty years of Vince McMahon being in charge, there are new bosses at the helm, meaning the McMahons no longer have full authority. Now one former WWE star has something to say about a member of the family. Dupree said that Shane only knows how to do stunts instead of wrestle a match, resulting in his stunts making it harder for wrestlers to get a reaction. WATCH: The Miz Fights A Cactus (And Loses)

It’s a dangerous sport. There are all kinds of ways a wrestler can be injured in the ring, but there are even more possible issues outside of the ring. It can be a terrible thing to see a wrestler be hurt, but not all injures are created equally. There are instances where an injury might not be as serious as another, and it certainly helps when the injury doesn’t seem to actually have happened. That seems to be the case again. The problem is that with no tournament matches for this week, there is only so much that can be done to bring in the interest. Matt Hardy vs. Darby Allin They shake hands to start and it’s Allin grabbing a headlock takeover. Hardy fights up so Allin crucifix bombs him for two.
