AEW Revolution 2023 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s Revolution and things are not exactly feeling hot coming into the show. The main event is a sixty minute Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson challenging MJF for the World Title, which means there won’t be as much time for the usual deep card this time. Other than that, we have Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match and Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy in what seems to be a Buried Alive match. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mark Briscoe/Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari/Varsity Athletes The Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Sterling and company feud continues for reasons I don’t think I follow. Briscoe also has some new friends in the Lucha Bros and that means we could be in for a new trio. The division could certainly use them, but for now they have to get rid of something like this, as AEW is giving them a nice spot to get their feet wet as a three man team. Of course I’ll take Briscoe and the Bros here, as there is no reason to suggest that Daivari and company will ever be winning anything..

NXT Results – February 28, 2023

NXT Date: February 28, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T. We are about a month away from Stand & Deliver and the card is starting to take shape. While nothing has happened yet and Roadblock is next week, you can probably figure out a lot of what is coming. One thing that is not entirely clear is what will be going on with Shawn Michaels and Grayson Waller, but maybe we can find out some more tonight. Let’s get to it. We open with a huge brawl of people trying to get to the ring to answer Wes Lee’s open challenge for a North American Title shot. Dabba-Kato almost makes it in but Apollo Crews jumps him. Nathan Frazer returns and gets inside for the title shot. North American Title: Nathan Frazer vs. Wes Lee Lee is defending. Frazer headlocks him down to start and holds him there for a good bit. That’s broken up and Lee nips to his feet for a standoff. Lee takes Frazer down but they’re right back up with lee being sent outside...

That Looked Awful: WWE Star Helped From Elimination Chamber, Falls Going Down Stairs

That could be bad. You never know when you are going to see an injury in wrestling. Someone can be in the middle of their match when something goes wrong and they get hurt. It can happen to anyone at any time and unfortunately all that can be done is wait to see just how bad things are. That was the situation again this weekend, as a WWE star seemed to get banged up during a major match. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Two SmackDown Stars Tease Big Heel Turn Saturday night at WWE’s Elimination Chamber event, Seth Rollins gave Montez Ford a Stomp onto the area of the Elimination Chamber outside of the ring. Ford was pinned shortly after but required help to get to his feet and leave. He would also fall down while being helped down the steps. There is no word on the severity of his condition, or if the incident was legitimate in the first place, as Ford being helped out allowed Logan Paul to interfere in the match. It was a rough one. Check out a look at the match, plus Ford at full str..

WATCH: WWE Hall Of Famer Sends Bizarre Special Greeting

That’s a new one. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout the years but very few are able to make much of a lasting impact for one reason or another. Some of the wrestlers will do something outside of the ring that makes them more noteworthy, but those are often going to be rather unique situations. Now a former WWE star is playing off of his reputation in more of a fun way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Comeback: 67 Year Old WWE Hall Of Famer Returning To The Ring After 10+ Years WWE Hall Of Famer Tony Atlas, 68 years old, has released a video (safe for work) showing a woman hitting him and eventually stomping on his face. The video ends with a surprising message from Atlas, who says nothing else throughout. Atlas’ obsession with women’s feet has been known over the years, with several wrestlers and wrestling personalities commenting on it. This is different. Check out the video, plus some more traditional Atlas wrestling: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post conta..

Here’s What Happened After AEW Dynamite Ended (It’s A Bit Weird)

That’s a busy night. There is a lot of action on the night of any given AEW television taping. You never know what you are going to see when the promotion comes to town and that makes for quite a few moments. With so many people on its roster, AEW often has to do something after the show is over. That was the case again with a pair of special appearances after the cameras stopped rolling. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite took place in Norfolk, Virginia and ended with the Firm attacking Maxwell Jacob Friedman, who was put through a table. According to PWInsider.com, after the show went off the air, Friedman got to his feet and left the arena under his own power. AEW President Tony Khan then came out to introduce Hook, who held up the FTW Title. Khan then thanked the fans for coming and left to end the night. Opinion: That isn’t quite as exciting of an ending to the show as you are going to have but at least there was a little something after the show. At the same time, just having ..

Monday Night Raw, SmackDown And NXT Stars Changing Places Next Week

Maybe just a visit? There has been a lot more crossover between the three WWE rosters in recent months and it has offered several new opportunities for the stars. They are now allowed to work with different people and get a fresh place to go, at least for a little while. Now we are going to be seeing it again, with a pair of stars making cameos on another roster. This week on NXT, a pair of announcements were made, saying that Cora Jade would appear on Monday Night Raw and Roxanne Perez will appear on SmackDown. In addition, the two will pick each other’s opponents, from the same main rosters respectively, for a match on next week’s NXT. There is nothing to suggest that the appearances will be anything more than one offs. Opinion: This is something that should work out well for both of them as just getting their feet wet on the main roster is always a nice thing to see. I’m not sure if either of them are going to be moving up soon, but getting fans associated with them could be a goo..

Bound For Glory 2022 Results

Bound For Glory 2022 Date: October 7, 2022 Location: Washington Avenue Armory, Albany, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the biggest night of the Impact year and the show doesn’t look too bad. Honor No More is in a pair of title matches, including the show’s main event, so tonight might determine all of the group’s future. That could go in a few ways but there is enough other stuff to keep the interest up. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Digital Media Title: Brian Myers vs. ??? Myers is defending in an open challenge and it’s……Dirty Dango (Fandango) for a surprise. Feeling out process to start with Dango hitting a dropkick to put the champ down. A legdrop gives Dango two and it’s time for Myers to bail out to the floor. Myers wins the fight outside as we go to French commentary for a bit. Back in and the chinlock goes on, with the fans trying to cheer Dango back up to his feet. Some stomping sets up another chinlock but Dango sends him outside for the slingshot d..

WATCH: Darby Allin’s Latest Insane Stunt (From 92 Feet In The Air)

He’s a stunt guy. There are certain wrestlers who are best known for the stunts that they do rather than the matches that they have. During a match, you will see something take place that blows your mind but tends to be pretty run of the mill for whomever does it. Then there are some who do these kind of things outside of the ring and that has happened again for an AEW star. AEW’s Darby Allin has released a new video showing what he describes as a “slip and fall” off of a 92 foot waterfall into the water below. The video features Allin’s dive as two people watch from nearby, seemingly standing in the water. There is no indication of where the waterfall is located. Allin last wrestled on the Grand Slam edition of Rampage where he and Sting defeated the House of Black. Yeah this is a bit much. Check out Allin’s dive: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: As someone who is not quite comfortable with heights, this is about as terrifying of a concept as I can fathom. Allin ..

NXT Match Stopped Due To Injury This Week

He’s down for a bit. One of the worst things to see in wrestling is an injury. You never want to see someone put on the shelf for any amount of time but unfortunately there is almost no way to prevent it from happening. Anyone can get hurt at any time and there is very little way to know it is coming. That was the situation this week and a match was stopped as a result. This week’s NXT featured a match between Tony D’Angelo and Wes Lee. About eight minutes into the match, Lee tripped D’Angelo face first into the middle turnbuckle. D’Angelo could not get back to his feet and the match was stopped as a result. While not confirmed, commentary suggested that D’Angelo had suffered a knee injury of some kind. The match was taped on September 14 and D’Angelo has not wrestled since. There is no word on when he could return to the ring. Opinion: That is horrible to see and now all we can do is wait and see just how bad things are for D’Angelo. A knee injury has the potential to be one of the ..

WATCH: WWE Teases Never Before Seen Match At Live Event

That could be a big way to go. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and that opens up a lot of doors. It can be a lot of fun to see a new combination of wrestlers put together and find out what they can do. With so many interesting potential matches out there, you get to see some surprises every now and then. That might be the case again as WWE teased something new. Over the weekend, WWE ran a live event in Bridgeport, Connecticut. During the show, Intercontinental Champion Gunther defeated Ricochet to retain the title. After the match, Gunther continued to attack Ricochet but Drew McIntyre came in for the save. Gunther ran as McIntyre got in the ring and helped Ricochet to his feet. The two have never met before in WWE. It was an interesting showdown. Check out how things went: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can be interesting in WWE. You have two guys who could put on an interesting match together and now WWE is teasin..

Former World Champion Makes Surprise WWE Return, Teases New Feud

Welcome back. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history and some of them have been quite the successes. While it might not be an exact science, one of the best ways to gauge a wrestler’s success is through the championships they have won, particularly World Titles. This week saw the return of a former World Champion in a surprising moment. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Theory and Seth Rollins team up to face Bobby Lashley and Riddle. During the match, former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler came to the ring to watch. Later, Theory rolled Riddle up and put his feet on the ropes, only to have Ziggler break it up, allowing Riddle to get the pin. Following the match, Ziggler superkicked Theory to end the show. There is no word on any match between Ziggler and Theory. Opinion: This is quite the surprise and I’m not sure where it is going. I don’t mind having Ziggler back, but what matters is giving Theory something to do on the way up to the ..

WATCH: Debuting NXT Star’s Identity Officially Revealed

There he is. Sometimes a wrestler needs to take some time away from the public eye to shake things up a little bit. It might be just to give the person a refresher or something brand new entirely. There might even be a bit of mystery to the whole thing, as the person’s identity could be concealed. That is not the case this time, as WWE has flat out said who a returning star will be. Over the last few weeks, NXT has been presenting vignettes of a soon to be debuting star named Giovanni Vinci. Throughout the vignettes, Vinci’s identity was not made clear, as only his hands and feet were shown. This week though, Vinci’s face was shown, revealing that he is the star formerly known as Fabian Aichner, who will be returning next week. This had been rumored since the vignettes began but never confirmed. Nice to meet you. Check out the final vignette: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This wasn’t exactly a surprise but it is interesting to see NXT flat out show who Vinci i..

On The Mend: AEW Star Confirms Torn ACL

There’s the confirmation. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler as they can be doing anything and then have their momentum cut off in the blink of an eye. That is the kind of thing that ever wrestler dreads and the question becomes when they can get back in the ring. Now we know what happened to an AEW star and it is one of the more severe possibilities. AEW’s Leyla Hirsch has announced that she has undergone successful surgery to repair a torn ACL. Hirsch said that she suffered the injury during a Dark Elevation taping when she landed on her feet while attempting a moonsault and landing on her feet. There is no word on how long Hirsch will be out of action. Rumors of her injury sprung up earlier this month but this is the first confirmation. On April 5th, during AEW Dark Elevation, I suffered an injury. After landing on my feet from a moonsault, I tore my ACL. Today I was finally able to get my surgery. Thank you to everyone for the support . I promise..

Impact Wrestling Results – May 19, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: May 19, 2022 Location: Promowest Pavilion, Newport, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are on the way to Slammiversary and as of last week, we have a new #1 contender. Eric Young won Gauntlet For The Gold to earn the title shot against World Champion Josh Alexander, but that leaves a lot of the card to be filled in. This week will feature the Briscoes defending the Tag Team Titles against Violent By Design in an Under Siege rematch so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s Gauntlet For The Gold, with Eric Young beating Chris Sabin to win the title shot. Opening sequence. WATCH: John Cena vs. Batista – WWE Title “I Quit” Match: Over the Limit 2010

That’s one way to do it. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between John Cena and Batista for the WWE Championship in an “I Quit” Match from Over the Limit 2010. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: When WWE Champion John Cena and his opponent Batista faced off in an “I Quit” Match, it seemed entirely appropriate that the two Hemi-powered heavyweights found themselves dueling in the Motor City. Each man buried the speedometer as they rumbled toward each other until, finally, The Animal ran out of fuel and was forced to utter those infamous words, “I quit.” For months, Batista had complained about The Champ, stating that The Animal should be the real “face of WWE.” That animosity only intensified after Batista was embarrassed in a Last Man Standing Match when Cena prevailed by duct-taping his feet together around one of the ring posts. As for Cena, The Champ has appear..

WATCH: Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens From Royal Rumble 2021

Got to beat the count. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full Last Man Standing match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship from the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The risks grew higher and higher as the brawl sprawled throughout the WWE ThunderDome. In one of the more terrifying scenes, Reigns launched KO off a high staging area through a table, but Owens got to his feet in the nick of time. Moments later, as Owens staggered into the backstage area, Reigns drove into him with a golf cart, sending Owens crashing through the plexiglass windshield. Still, Owens fought on. When Reigns took the opportunity to mock Owens’ grandfather, as he did two nights ago on SmackDown, it awoke a new fighting spirit in the challenger, and Owens launched a revised attack that culminated with a senton off the top of a forklift thro..

WWE Star May Be Returning From Injury Sooner Than Expected

Welcome back. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and it is never good to see someone be put on the shelf. The fun part is seeing the wrestlers making their return though, and sometimes that can happen sooner rather than later. Thankfully that seems like it will be the case later this week, and it is something that is happening a bit earlier than expected. According to PWInsider, King Woods is expected to return to the road with WWE starting this week on SmackDown. Woods has been out of action for several weeks with a calf injury, which was scheduled to keep him out of action for four to six weeks. At the moment, it is not expected that Woods will return to the ring immediately and it is not clear when he will have his next match. Opinion: It’s great to hear that Woods is back on his feet sooner than later. If nothing else, it will be nice to have him there to do some more of the talking, as he tends to shine with everything that he does on the microphone. I doubt he makes i..

NXT Results – January 18, 2022

NXT Date: January 18, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett It’s a new era in NXT as we have a new monster around here. Walter is making his full time debut this week, as he is scheduled to face Roderick Strong. Other than that we have the fallout of the return of LA Knight to deal with Grayson Waller. Now if only they can avoid doing some dumb things. Let’s get to it. LA Knight arrives and tells some people to watch what he does in the ring. That brings Knight to the arena and he wants to talk to us. He also wants Grayson Waller out here right now so they can finish what they started last week. With Waller not showing up, Knight recaps everything that got us here, including a few weeks ago when a good looking woman picked Knight over Waller. Cue Waller, and he has a restraining order. Waller: “If you come within fifty feet of me, you get arrested, YEAH!”. Knight thinks this is pitiful even for Waller, but he knows someone w..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Bad News For Finn Balor’s WWE Future

That’s what he does. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them are not exactly presented as well as others. Sometimes you see a star who just can’t get their feet under them for one reason or another and it can be rather frustrating. That seems to be the case again with a popular star, and now it seems that we know what is going on with them. This week on Monday Night Raw, the returning Finn Balor lost to Austin Theory in a short match. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Balor is now seen as the new Jeff Hardy, meaning the new star designated to help get younger talent over. Vince McMahon is said to have only seen Balor as a midcarder while Theory is in for a major push. There is a chance that he will be in the final four or five in the men’s Royal Rumble and a main event player in the next year. Opinion: I’m glad to hear that Theory is going to be getting a strong push as he is the young star that WWE could use. At the same time though, it is sad to see Balor’s car..
