I don’t think that was the plan. There are a lot of things that need to come together to make a wrestling match work but sometimes all of the planning in the world might not be enough. One little thing going wrong can cause some a major issue and that seems to have taken place again in a crucial spot of one of the bigger WWE matches to take place in recent memory. The opening match of Crown Jewel 2022 saw Brock Lesnar defeat Bobby Lashley in controversial fashion. Lesnar kicked out of the corner to land on Lashley for a pin, though Lashley’s shoulder was up. As a result, fans have voiced their displeasure with the finish on Twitter, with several being upset about how the match ended in controversy and should have gone in another way. A fashion accessory? WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world and to a lot of fans, it is the wrestling promotion. Several fans associate the industry with WWE and a lot of fans are going to be familiar with the company’s signature logo. Unfortunately the logo was involved in something rather negative earlier this week with police having to be involved. According to KWTX (CBS affiliate near Waco, Texas) in Temple, Texas, a man is wanted for suspicion of an armed robbery of a store. The man was filmed wearing a replica WWE Title upside down with a hood over his face and no shoes. The amount of money stolen was not reported and the suspect has yet to be apprehended. Pair Of Update On The Elite Returning To AEW In Some Fashion
Almost done? There have been very few wrestling stories this year that have been discussed as extensively as the post AEW All Out brawl between CM Punk/Ace Steel and the Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks). The issue resulted in several suspensions as well as Steel being released from the company. While the main players have yet to return, we have gotten something of an update from AEW itself. According to Fightful Select, the Elite may be set to return in at least a backstage capacity very soon, though there is no word on when the three may return to AEW TV. However, this week on AEW Dynamite, a vignette aired talking about the trio’s success in AEW. Two Title Changes Take Place During The Same Show
There go two of them. Titles are the most important things in wrestling as they identify the biggest stars in any given promotion. Any fan understands the idea of a wrestler holding a shiny gold belt and holding it can mean a lot. It can also mean quite a bit when a title changes hands, which was the case this week, albeit in two rather different fashions entirely. Two titles changed hands this week on Impact Wrestling. First, Frankie Kazarian vacated the X-Division Title he won at Bound For Glory via Option C, earning himself a World Title shot against Josh Alexander. Extreme Rules 2022 Date: October 8, 2022 Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves We’re back with the violent pay per view and in this case the card might be able to live up to that hype. There is a different, or mostly different, gimmick to every match on the card and some of them could get rather violent. It’s kind of the point of the show. With so many WWE events out there, each one needs something to make them stand out more than the others. That is why WWE has added a gimmick to most of its major shows and next month’s will be no exception. That might be a bit much. The rise of AEW has seen wrestlers being offered another place to apply their trade at a top level. The company is offering a top stage that has not been available outside of WWE in a very long time. Several wrestlers, including some who had previously worked in WWE, are now getting a new place to go, but it seems that WWE wants some of them back. Brock Lesnar Reportedly Leaves SmackDown, Status For This Week Unclear
I guess he wasn’t pleased. There are a lot of wrestlers in WWE, but there is only one Brock Lesnar. Throughout his multiple runs in WWE, Lesnar has been one of the most dominant stars the company has ever seen. Even though he only appears occasionally now, it means something when he shows up. That was supposed to be the case this week, but now things might have changed. Lesnar has been advertised for this week’s edition of SmackDown, but according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lesnar has left SmackDown as of just before 5PM EST. There is no word on why Lesnar left, though it comes less than an hour after Vince McMahon announced that he is stepping down as WWE CEO and Chairman of the Board. Well that worked. Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, WWE celebrated the twenty year anniversary of John Cena in WWE. The show featured a series of tributes to Cena, as well as looks back at some of his most famous moments. Cena has had several of these over the years and they are worth looking at again. Now one of them is getting recreated in pretty awesome fashion. WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle has released a video of himself and his daughter Sophia recreating Cena’s debut promo from June 27, 2002.
