Dynamite Date: February 22, 2023 Location: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We have two weeks to go to before Revolution and that means it is time to start finalizing the card. That is a little tricky when one of the matches is going to be a sixty minute Iron Man match, but AEW does know how to throw in a few surprises. Tony Khan has promised a big surprise for tonight so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. All-Atlantic Title: Orange Cassidy vs. Wheeler Yuta Only Cassidy is defending after Yuta wants revenge for Cassidy and the Best Friends forgetting about him. They go technical to start and get some near falls each until Yuta bails to the floor. Back in and Cassidy uses Yuta’s own Seatbelt rollup for two, meaning it’s time for another breather outside. WATCH: WWE Releases First WrestleMania Movie Trailer Featuring Seth Rollins And Becky Lynch

Tis the season. We are less than six weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start setting up the biggest weekend of the WWE’s year. This year’s show takes place in Los Angeles, California and just like last time, WWE is airing some parody movie trailers to tie into the Hollywood theme. The first one has already aired and features two of the bigger stars in WWE today. The trailer features Seth Rollins as the Joker, dancing down a set of stairs. At the bottom, he runs into Batman, played by Becky Lynch but not wearing a mask. That Looked Awful: WWE Star Helped From Elimination Chamber, Falls Going Down Stairs

That could be bad. You never know when you are going to see an injury in wrestling. Someone can be in the middle of their match when something goes wrong and they get hurt. It can happen to anyone at any time and unfortunately all that can be done is wait to see just how bad things are. That was the situation again this weekend, as a WWE star seemed to get banged up during a major match. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Two SmackDown Stars Tease Big Heel Turn Saturday night at WWE’s Elimination Chamber event, Seth Rollins gave Montez Ford a Stomp onto the area of the Elimination Chamber outside of the ring. Ford was pinned shortly after but required help to get to his feet and leave. He would also fall down while being helped down the steps. There is no word on the severity of his condition, or if the incident was legitimate in the first place, as Ford being helped out allowed Logan Paul to interfere in the match. It was a rough one. We have a new one. There are all kinds of wrestling matches with a variety of stipulations available. Depending on which kind of feud is taking place, you can pick which kind of match fits everything best. It can be a cool moment when you see a new match being introduced, even if it is a mixture of multiple matches seen before. Now we are going to be seeing a brand new one and it is a bit complicated. WATCH: Bayley Squares Off With Fan At WWE Live Event

That’s some quality villainy. For the most part, wrestlers are divided into groups of babyfaces and heels. The heels are there to make fans angry at them and to get the fans cheering for the babyfaces to give them what they deserve. That can be accomplished in a variety of ways and now we saw one of the better methods this weekend at a non-televised events. A video has been released to Twitter showing a match between Bayley and Bianca Belair at a recent WWE live event in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The video includes Bayley arguing with a young fan at ringside multiple times, with the fan shouting that she wants Bayley to lose. Bayley would yell back at the fan multiple times, including once when Bayley was sitting down on the floor. Bayley went on to lose the match. This is pretty impressive. Wrestling Legend: “I Lost All Respect For Shawn Michaels”

That’s definitely a take. There have been all kinds of matches over the years but there are some that stand out over the rest. That might not always be for the best of reasons though, as there are instances of wrestlers doing something in the ring that does not go so well. Now a wrestling legend is weighing in on an infamous match and it is not the most positive reaction. During the latest edition of his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff discussed the Summerslam 2005 match between Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels. The match featured Michaels overselling Hogan’s offense with several over exaggerated landings and falls. Bischoff said of the match: “I lost all respect for Shawn Michaels. It was pretty clear. There was an issue between Hulk and Shawn Michaels. There was a lack of respect, I think, there, perhaps some jealousy on Shawn’s part that, ‘Here’s this Hulk Hogan. He’s still here. He’s still the guy.’ I don’t know. I wasn’t close to Shawn at that point.” The match was scheduled to be..

NXT Star Suffers Knee Injury, Out Of Action 4-6 Weeks

It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of injuries that can happen in any given wrestling match and that is never a good thing to see. The worst part of an injury can be waiting to find out just how bad things are because it could mean a very long time on the shelf. That seems to be the case again, but this time we have an idea for how long someone is going to be out. Last week’s NXT featured a Falls Count Anywhere match with Solo Sikoa defeating Von Wagner. This week’s NXT included a segment with Sikoa in the trainer’s room, where he was told he had a sprained PCL. As a result, Sikoa will be out of action for anywhere from four to six weeks. There is no word on if the injury is legitimate or part of a storyline for Sikoa. Opinion: That is never good to hear but what matters is that the injury could be a lot worse. A sprained PCL is a serious enough injury but he could be out a lot longer if things were that much more serious. Sikoa is someone who is being used well in NXT and ..

The mot interesting one might be the Women’s Tag Tam Titles, which are guaranteed to see new champions crowned as the titles are vacant coming in. In addition to all that, there is a Falls Count Anywhere match between Solo Sikoa and Von Wagner. Let’s get to it. Women’s Tag Team Titles: Tatum Paxley/Ivy Nile vs. Toxic Attraction vs. Yulisa Leon/Valentina Feroz vs. Katana Chance/Kayden Carter For the vacant titles under elimination rules. You Need Them: Ring Of Honor Officially Signs Hall Of Famers To Long Term Deals

They’ll be there. The wrestling world is getting back one of the more prominent promotions of this generation as Ring Of Honor is running an event this weekend. That should make for quite the moment, but it does have some questions that need to be answered. Ring Of Honor has run one event this year and that was nearly four months ago. The promotion needs a roster and now we know two prominent names. During the Ring Of Honor Death Before Dishonor conference call, owner Tony Khan revealed that the Briscoes are signed to the company on long term contracts. The Briscoes are Ring Of Honor Hall of Famers and record twelve time Ring Of Honor Tag Team Champions. They are scheduled to challenge FTR for the titles in a two out of three falls match at Death Before Dishonor. Opinion: I don’t think this is much of a shock as is no one more associated with Ring Of Honor than the Briscoes. Hand It Over: Record Setting Title Reign Comes To An End In Upset

The gold it is a changing. There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them have a unique setup that allow for some variation. It can be nice to have something different, as you can only do so many things with a standard championship format. One of those titles changed hands this week, with a record setting reign coming to an end after a bit of an upset. The main event of this week’s NXT UK saw Mark Coffey defeat Noam Dar to win the NXT Heritage Cup. Coffey defeated Dar two falls to one in the sixth and final round. The win ends Dar’s reign after 259 days, the longest in the title’s history. Coffey’s title win marks the first singles title win of his NXT UK career, though he is a former NXT UK Tag Team Champion with Wolfgang. Opinion: This is something that had to happen and it makes sense given Gallus’ issues as of late. NXT UK Date: April 21, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd It’s another title week this time around as Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter are getting a rematch against Moustache Mountain. This is a 2/3 falls match though and that should make for a pretty awesome showdown between two great teams, even though Moustache Mountain is teasing a move to the dark side. Let’s get to it. What Was (And Still May Be) Planned For Drew McIntyre When He Returns

There was an idea in place. Wrestling storylines can take many forms, but at some point there has to be a match to pay the things off. That needs to be set up as delicately as possible, which is not always the easiest thing to do. There are also occasions where a story can be set up, but ultimately falls through for one reason or another. That was almost the case recently. Over the weekend, Drew McIntyre was written off of WWE television thanks to an attack by Happy Corbin at Day One. The attack was a way to get McIntyre out of storylines as he is dealing with neck issues. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is planning for a Roman Reigns vs. McIntyre match, which is still the idea despite McIntyre’s injury. Several More Details On WWE’s New Coronavirus Policies

They have a plan for that. As has been the case for about two years now, the Coronavirus pandemic is one of the biggest stories in the world. The wrestling industry has taken a beating of its own, as promotions are trying to figure out the best way going forward. This is certainly the case in WWE as well, and now we know more about what the company is doing about the situation. Earlier this week, news broke that WWE was changing its Coronavirus policy by ending mandatory regular testing. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the new policy is said to be similar to the NFL’s. WWE is requiring that any wrestler who tests positive take an antigen test on the fifth day. Should they pass two such tests twenty four hours apart, they will be allowed to return to work. This falls under the new CDC guidelines, which recommends five days of quarantining after a positive test. WATCH: Big Title Match Takes Place After Monday Night Raw (Almost Full Match)

The night isn’t over yet. WWE television shows can be quite long in the first place, with several wrestlers in action across a good number of matches throughout the night. That can make for some interesting moments, especially if the show is well put together. It can be hard to get the formula right, but sometimes there are even more things to worry about on a given evening. That was the case again this week. As shown on Youtube, a triple threat match took place after this week’s Monday Night Raw went off the air. Following the show, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Bianca Belair and Liv Morgan to retain the title. Morgan and Belair traded near falls until Belair was knocked out. Lynch then threw Morgan outside and pinned Belair with a rollup while putting her feet on the ropes. Belair defeated Doudrop earlier in the night, while Morgan and Lynch faced off in an interview. Kyle O’Reilly Is Officially A Free Agent

Add another one to the list. According to a report from PWInsider, Kyle O’Reilly has not-resigned with WWE and has officially become a free agent. Both he and Johnny Gargano have been removed from the company’s internal roster. This news comes after Gargano became a free agent the day before. He is currently free to work anywhere he wants to since there was no non-compete attached to his contract. O’Reilly has had quite a career in NXT. He was a three-time WWE NXT tag team champion, and also won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2018 with Adam Cole. The pair, along with Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong, was known as the Undisputed Era and was one of the most successful factions in NXT history. However, Cole and O’Reilly had an intense rivalry throughout most of 2021, which led to a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match at NXT Takeover: 36.
