That’s not good. While WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world, it is not the only place for wrestlers to go. It can mean a lot to see a wrestler jump from one promotion to another, but there are certain safeguards that can prevent the impact from being too great. The most basic of those is a contract, but in one instance, WWE let someone wrestle in a prominent spot without one. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: WWE Superstar Goes Missing, Help Requested To Find Him WWE star Dominik Mysterio appeared on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast and revealed that he did not have a contract for his first major WWE match. Mysterio said that he faced Seth Rollins in a street fight at Summerslam 2020 without a contract. He appeared on television and also at the Payback pay per view a week after Summerslam on good faith before officially being signed to the company. Since then, Mysterio has gone on to become a SmackDown Tag Team Champion and is now a member of the Judgment Day stable. Mysterio h..
It’s the other option. The rise of AEW has shaken up the wrestling world and it brings up the question of where wrestlers will be heading next. While wrestlers are under contracts, it does not mean that they are always happy with where they are at the moment. Now we have a better idea of why some wrestlers want to make the jump to the other company, and it seems to be two fold. According to Wrestling Observer Live, there are two reasons why wrestlers are wanting to jump from AEW to WWE. First, wrestlers are said to have more faith in the new regime headed by Triple H than the previous Vince McMahon administration. Second, the wrestlers are wanting to go to WWE because they would be able to work more there. AEW only runs one regular night a week with Dark: Elevation, Dynamite and Rampage being taped on the same night, while WWE runs television and three live events a week. Opinion: This is an interesting situation as one of the main perks from AEW is the lighter schedule. It seems tha..
WWE legend Kurt Angle was recently interviewed by Bleacher Report to promote his upcoming episode of A&E’s Biography: WWE Legends this Sunday night. He discussed several topics, including the documentary, managing Chad Gable, the future of WWE, and more. Below are some highlights from the interview: On the biography: “I really hit on a lot of things I had to overcome,” he said. “The documentary is about overcoming. Overcoming my addiction, my injuries, deaths of close family members. It’s really about redemption and turning my life around and being a good husband, father and role model. “Good things happen in your life, bad things happen in your life, but it’s all about how you respond to them and how you overcome them,” he added. “When you’re high on your horse and doing really well, there’s no complaints, but when you’re down in the gutter, it’s really hard to get out of it, and I know that personally.” On managing Chad Gable: “I would love to manage Chad Gable and Otis,” he re..
Cody Rhodes’ recent departure from All Elite Wrestling was sudden and surprising for many fans. The American Nightmare is a founding father of AEW after all and now, he’s a former Executive Vice President. It’s a surreal moment for the AEW faithful, there is no denying that. But there’s also no denying that Cody’s next landing spot is likely WWE. While Vince McMahon’s company has not made the signing official as of this writing, the fact is that fans expect it to happen anytime. So assuming Rhodes’ return to WWE is imminent, the question is what’s changed? pic.twitter.com/iyKVg1nVpm — Cody Rhodes (@CodyRhodes) February 15, 2022 Old Wounds When Cody left WWE in 2016, he was frustrated. The Stardust gimmick that he was using wasn’t for everyone and despite Cody’s best efforts, it ultimately wasn’t for him either. He wanted a change and the company didn’t allow that change to happen. Rhodes’ next few steps after leaving WWE defined his career for the next six years. He became a star ..
Bryan Danielson’s arrival in AEW brought the house down at All Out on September 5. Danielson’s debut came just moments after that of Adam Cole, who had just shocked the audience by joining The Elite. Danielson is now making it clear that he’s after The Elite. More specifically, Bryan is after AEW World champion and Elite leader Kenny Omega. While that match is surely on the way, Danielson has some serious hurdles to clear. The first on the list may be Adam Cole. [This post contains video, click to play] Elite Arrivals Bryan versus Cole already happened in WWE of course. But that match was a one-off and it never lead to a lengthy feud. So now that both men are on opposite sides in AEW, it’s only logical that they will go to war. Danielson is leading that war and he’s determined to put The Elite’s dominance of AEW to the test. Bryan comes in with a lot to prove, to himself and the AEW faithful as well. He’s a true pro wrestler at heart and he wants nothing more than to ply his craft..
WWE’s recent slate of talent releases once again took pro wrestling fandom by surprise. This time, a batch of 13 NXT workers are out and are undoubtedly receiving best wishes in their personal endeavors. Of course, those endeavors will also likely include business. Speculation is already underway that many, if not all, of the former NXT stars are headed to other companies, possibly AEW, Impact Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling. But as fans digest this latest bit of news, WWE is moving forward. They also happen to be moving forward with a new executive addition. Trent Wilfinger is the new Senior Vice President of Talent ID and Development for WWE. Wilfinger shared his status on social media, leaving the WWE faithful wondering what all of this means for the company and the product itself. Excited to share that I will be joining the WWE as their new SVP of Talent ID & Development. I look forward to working side by side @jamesrkimball under the leadership of @TripleH to help bring t..
She earned it. Winning a title can mean a lot to a wrestler’s career, but winning one for the first time is even more important. It shows that you are officially moving up to the next level and that the promotion has some faith in you. At the same time, you can often see the emotion on someone’s face when they win the title, which was the case again for a first time champion. At the end of Monday Night Raw, Nikki Ash cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Charlotte to win the Raw Women’s Title for the first time in her career. WWE has released a video from after the show went off the air, showing Ash celebrating with the fans, including several children. It is not clear if there was another match after the television broadcast ended. I’d say she has earned it. Check out the celebration, plus what is coming to the title: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Ash is one of thos..
I think it’s safe to say that this year’s WrestleMania had some big moments. In something that actually surprised me, we got three happy endings in the major matches, with Kofi Kingston, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins all slaying the dragons and winning their titles. That was the right move to make as WWE needed to give the fans something to cheer for after a long stretch of bleak. WrestleMania is over now though and that means it’s time to start looking forward. That brings us to the current problem, which is something that can be fixed and addressed, though it’s not something that can be done overnight: who in the world is supposed to be the big villains going after the new champions? Right now, who is going after Rollins, Lynch and Kingston? They don’t exactly have major heels going on and unfortunately, I have very little faith in WWE to build them up. This has been a problem for a very long time now and while it’s something that is dealt with every now and then, it has been an issu..
Seth Rollins is the best in WWE right now. That is no secret for anyone paying attention to the product lately. Rollins has truly stepped his game like never before since becoming the Intercontinental champion at WrestleMania 34. His run as WWE champion in 2015 was good but he did not receive the acclaim he’s receiving now. That may have been due to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon’s constant involvement or it may have been due to Rollins’ status as the top heel. However fans just cannot get enough of him now and he definitely looks great in every aspect of his game. Seth has proved there’s life after The Authority and he is making his case for best in the world. But while he may be on an all-time high in the company, he’s not the top guy. That may not be an issue for him or his fans but for a great many of the WWE faithful, Rollins is the perfect alternative to Roman Reigns. Reigns’ run as the face of WWE has been deemed a failed experiment by some. Yet no matter how many critics belie..
Naito minces no words about his dislike for Chris Jericho. The tranquilo Tetsuya Naito keeps his cool throughout the toughest of situations but what took place during night two of NJPW's 'Wrestling Dontaku' event was the straw that broke that camels back. As Naito exited the ring after receiving admiration from the Fukuoka faithful in attendance he was attacked by a "fan" who was wearing a 'Bushi' mask. That "fan" turned out to be former nine-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho who was last seen in NJPW when he attacked Naito from behind at 'New Years Dash' the day after Wrestle Kingdom 12. Prior to their first encounter Naito voiced his opinion on Chris Jericho coming into the company and stealing spotlight away from his main event match against Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom. The bad blood between the two men will peak on June 9th at NJPW's 'Dominion' event as Chris Jericho will make his in-ring return to the compan..

Taz says that he believes WWE made a mistake by showing Strowman in the hospital bed on RAW last night, as he thought it made Strowman look too ‘human’. Styles had good years last year as rookies, and he wonders if that gives WWE the confidence to push talent quicker. Taz says that wrestling is a work, and Bliss and Styles had good years last year because the company pushed them. If WWE has faith in a performer, they’re going to book them to win more matches than they lose.</p>
