WATCH: WWE Superstar Continues To Show Change In Attitude

To the other side. With so much television time to fill in WWE, it can be easy for some of the company’s stars to start feeling stale. At some point a change needs to be made and that can be accomplished in a few different ways. One of the easiest is to turn someone either from good to bad or vice versa, and it seems that we saw that take place earlier this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It Fits: Important Details On Next WWE Event In Saudi Arabia, Possible AEW Competition Following the February 10 SmackDown, WWE released a video of Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio backstage after they both took part in a fatal four way. The two talked about respect and exchanged masks. This week, the two were backstage when Rhea Ripley and Rey’s son Dominik interrupted and insulted Rey. Escobar defended Rey and seemed to set up a match with Dominik. This would indicate that Escobar is moving further towards a full babyface turn, which would be a first in his WWE career. There is no word on what this wo..

Backstage Segment with Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio; Face Turn Hinted?

Mutual respect. After Smackdown went off the air this past week, WWE shot and released some footage of Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio backstage. Both Escobar, Mysterio, along with Karrion Kross would come up on the losing end of the battle, while Madcap Moss would pick up the victory. He will face Gunther next week for the championship. In the clip, Escobar talked about being a little kid and watching Mysterio with his father. Escobar said all he wanted was to take Mysterio’s legacy and make it his and then talked about the respect he has for Mysterio for being “all about lucha.” Both men exchanged masks to show mutual respect. Editor’s Opinion: This is very cool, as I know how much Lucha means to both sup..

AEW Dynamite Results – January 25, 2023

Dynamite Date: January 25, 2023 Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz This is going to be an emotional one as the main event will feature the Jay Briscoe Tribute match between Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal. If that’s not enough, we’re still on the way to Revolution and that means Bryan Danielson gets to wrestle again. This time he has to find a way around Brian Cage, which is quite the different opponent than he has had in recent weeks. Other than that, the Gunns and the Acclaimed are going to have family therapy, which could go in a few different ways. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Chris Jericho/Sammy Guevara vs. Action Andretti/Ricky Starks We are joined in the middle of Jericho’s entrance (including Daniel Garcia). Andretti and Guevara start things off and exchange some flips without being able to make a ton of contact. Andretti’s standing moonsault misses and they stare at each other for a bit. Guevara offers a handshake and th..

Family Business: Update On Shane McMahon’s WWE Status, How Much He Was Paid In 2022

He’s still there. WWE has been changed in a variety of ways over the last several months and there is no idea on when things will settle back down. This has turned the company upside down and a lot of the changes have been centered around the McMahon Family. The Family has been around wrestling for years, but one member is not there that often. He is still with WWE though and now we know a bit more about his status. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Time Frame: Here’s When WWE Wants To Finish Sale, Plus Possible Buyers WWE has recently shaken up its Board Of Directors, which required a filing with the Securities And Exchange Commission (SEC). According to the filing, Shane McMahon is still part of WWE as an independent contractor and was paid approximately $828,000 in 2022. McMahon wrestled one match for the company during the year, appearing in the Men’s Royal Rumble match for less than six minutes. He was sent home after the show due to disagreements over how he should be presented. McMahon ..

AEW Dynamite Results – January 11, 2023

Dynamite Date: January 11, 2023 Location: Kia Forum, Los Angeles, California Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We’re in for a big show this week as things head back to Los Angeles. AEW knows how to bring it on the bigger stages and that is what should happen here. This week is centered around the ladder match to end the Best Of Seven series between the Elite and Death Triangle for the Trios Titles. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page They go right to the fighting with Page sending him into the corner for a running boot to the face. Page forearms him down but Moxley fights up and starts the swagger. The cross armbreaker doesn’t work for Moxley so he knocks Page off the apron instead. Back in and Moxley blasts him with a clothesline for two and we take a break. We come back with Moxley hitting another clothesline to set up the exchange of forearms. Page hits the fall away slam and nips up to knock Moxley outside. The moonsault to the floor connec..

Fuego Del Sol Buys His Own Wrestling Ring to Train for Bigger AEW Matches

As people outside of the big promotions like AEW, we often forget that we see these performers for maybe 30 mins of television time per week, which could be much less for underutilized talents. If you compare this to the standard 40 hour work week, we’re seeing so little of what actually goes into becoming a star in the wrestling business. For instance, Fuego Del Sol has been training extensively despite limited appearances on AEW programming over the course of 2022. He took to Twitter on Thursday to share his progress and goals into improving his craft as well as being prepared for any future opportunities. I bought a wrestling ring to take my in ring training to another level. Developed a new gym discipline. Working out 6 days a week and already see a difference in my body! Wrestling on the indies more so I stay ring ready and prepared for bigger AEW matches. Confidence way up! https://t.co/3rt9qzaiMn — Fuego Del Sol (@FuegoDelSol) November 17, 2022 During an exchange on Twit..

And NEW! Former WWE Star Wins First World Title

He who hath the gold. Titles have been the focal point of wrestling since the sport began, as wrestlers want to be seen as the best. The easiest way to be recognized as such is to hold a big shiny belt after beating the former champion. There have been a lot of titles throughout wrestling’s history and now one of the most famous, as well as important, has changed hands. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WWE’s Scarlett Reportedly Involved In Incident With Fan At Live Event This weekend at NWA Hard Times 3, Tyrus, formerly known as Brodus Clay in WWE, defeated Matt Cardona and reigning NWA World Champion Trevor Murdoch in the main event to win the title. This is Tyrus’ first World Title, with his shot coming after he cashed in his NWA TV Title via the Lucky Seven rule in exchange. The win ends Murdoch’s reign at 154 days. He’s been around. Check out Tyrus in action as he got ready for the World Title: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those title changes that h..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: November 3, 2022 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are about two weeks away from Overdrive and the card is starting to take shape. While the World Title match is already set, we still need to get the X-Division Title match ready, which is where this week comes in. Odds are there are going to be more tournament matches this week and that should be a good thing. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Eddie Edwards blames PCO for the destruction of Honor No More and invites him to come fight him in the desert. Opening sequence. X-Division Title Tournament First Round: Kenny King vs. Mike Bailey Feeling out process to start with King being weary of the big kick. An exchange of rollups get two each until they both try kicks to the ribs. Bailey dropkicks him for two and King is sent outside, but it’s too early for the dive. Back in and Bailey cranks on the leg, with a leglock sending King over to the rope. King’s..

WATCH: Alexa Bliss Comes Up Swinging In Serious Moment

That looked a bit more serious. Wrestlers have a lot to take care of in any given match, with their fellow stars’ safety at the top of the list. It means everything to keep your opponents safe but there is always the chance that things can go wrong in the blink of an eye. That might have happened earlier this week, as one star did not seem happy with what was going on in her match. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Alexa Bliss and Asuka defeat Damage Ctrl to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. During the match, Iyo Sky kicked Bliss in the back of the head, resulting in Bliss firing off some much more aggressive than usual punches. While not confirmed, this seemed to be a genuine physical reaction from Bliss as she may have been angry over the kick. There is nothing to suggest anything happened or was said between the two backstage before or after the match. It got serious quickly. Check out the exchange between Bliss and Sky: [This post contains video, click to pla..

WWE Hall Of Famer Returns On Monday Night Raw To Manage Current Star

He can do some things. There have been a lot of stars throughout WWE’s history and some of them have become legends of the industry. You know these stars when you see them and it can mean something to see them show up again after a long absence. That was the situation again this week, as a legend showed up in a new role in an effort to build up a younger star. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield made a surprise appearance, introducing Baron Corbin as the newest member of the Monday Night Raw roster. Corbin was sent to the show in exchange for Rey Mysterio, who jumped to SmackDown last week. This comes after Layfield picked Corbin up in his limo after a loss on SmackDown back in August. Corbin would go on to defeat Dolph Ziggler with Layfield on commentary. Opinion: This is the kind of move that works out well for everyone, as Layfield is someone the fans are going to recognize who can add credibility to Corbin. At the same time, Corbin has been so ..

Recent WWE Story Booked By The Wrestlers Themselves

She can get away with that. There are a lot of talented stars in WWE but only a handful of them reach a superstar level. Some of those names come in with that label attached to them and it can be a lot of fun seeing what they can do when they are given the chance. Occasionally those stars will be allowed to put something together on their own and that has happened again. In recent months, Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan have feuded with each other over the SmackDown Women’s Title. During the feud, Shayna Baszler got involved and exchanged words with Rousey. According to Fightful Select, this was a story planned by the two of them and not put together by WWE. There are currently no plans to include the two together in the near future. Opinion: This is an interesting one as while WWE has more or less stopped anything the angle could do, it is a good sign that they were able to get anything on television whatsoever. With WWE being as heavily scripted as it has been before, it can be nice to..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 29, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 29, 2022 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are done with Victory Road and that means we are only a little over a week away from Bound For Glory. I’m still not sure why Victory Road was such a necessary show before the biggest night of the year but at least it wasn’t an eventful night, meaning Bound For Glory got even more build. Hopefully that can continue tonight so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Bullet Club vs. Trey Miguel/Laredo Kid It’s Ace Austin/Chris Bey for the Club, with Juice Robinson in their corner. Austin and Kid start things off with an exchange of wristlocks but hold on as Austin needs to hold up Too Sweet. A quick high crossbody gives Kid an early two so it’s Bey offering a distraction so Austin can take over on the arm. Bey comes in with a backbreaker as we hear about his album coming out around Halloween. Kid slips away and hands it off to Miguel to fire off kicks at Bey..

WWE Likely Adds Two Stipulations To Extreme Rules

Add them on. WWE has a lot of major shows throughout the year and some of them need something extra to make them stand out. As a result, WWE has special themes for a lot of its shows, some of which are about as cut and dry as you can get. That includes next month’s Extreme Rules, which will be built around more violent matches. We ight have seen two more added this week. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE added a stipulation to a previously announced match and likely added an entirely new match. The show opened with an exchange between Bayley and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Bayley said she wanted their already announcement match at Extreme Rules to be a ladder match, which was made official later in the show. The final segment of the show saw Edge make his return and challenge Finn Balor to an I Quit match at Extreme Rules, though that match has yet to be made official. Opinion: This is the kind of night that the show needed as there wasn’t a ton of extreme on the card. WWE h..

Important Detail On WWE Booking Roman Reigns vs. Logan Paul For Crown Jewel

It does make sense. Over the last few years, WWE has developed a business relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The deal has been very lucrative for WWE as the company receives millions of dollars in exchange for two shows a year in the Kingdom. WWE is returning in November with a bit of a weird main event, but now we know the reasoning behind it. WWE has announced that the main event of November 5’s Crown Jewel event will see Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. According to Dave Meltzer on the Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Saudi Arabia wanted Paul in the spot because he has more mainstream appeal than a regular WWE star like Kevin Owens or Seth Rollins. This will be Paul’s third WWE match to date. Opinion: I don’t think this is much of a surprise and that is not the worst thing. Paul does seem to be someone who has a lot of natural talent and the ability to get fans’ attention when he is in front of a camera. While I can’t imagin..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 15, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 15, 2022 Location: The Factory, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We’re rapidly approaching Victory Road and then Bound For Glory, meaning some of the shows’ major matches have already been announced. With some of the bigger shows on the way, it would make sense to give them that much extra attention. There’s a good chance of getting some more added to the cards this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. X-Division Title: Mascara Dorada vs. Mike Bailey Bailey is defending. They trade armdrags to start before both block one at the same time. An exchange of countered hurricanranas gives them a standoff and they chop it out until Bailey is knocked to the floor. The slingshot dive misses and Dorada wins a chop off outside. Back in and a suicide dive drops Bailey, setting up a missed top rope double stomp back inside. Bailey pulls him into a kneebar but Dorada is in the ropes rather quickly. The running twisting shooting star g..

Vince McMahon Made Two Additional Payments Totaling $5 Million

The saga continues. According to multiple reports, WWE has filed a new notice with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), claiming that they learned of two additional payments totaling $5 million that was paid by Vince McMahon. The filing claims that the payments are unrelated to the $14.6 million in “certain unrecorded expenses” that date back to 2006. This scandal played a huge part in McMahon stepping down as CEO of WWE and retiring. The filing reads as follows: “On June 17, 2022, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (the “Company”) and its Board of Directors announced that a special committee of independent members of the Board of Directors (the “Special Committee”) was conducting an investigation into alleged misconduct by the Company’s former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Vincent K. McMahon, who resigned from all positions held with the Company on July 22, 2022 but remains a stockholder with a controlling interest, and another executive, who is also..

Vince McMahon Now Under Federal Investigation; Hastened His Retirement

It had been previously reported that WWE had made a new filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, announcing that Vince McMahon had paid $14.6 million that were not recorded as company expenses. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the SEC and federal prosecutors have launched inquiries into payments made by McMahon to settle allegations of sexual misconduct. The report states that the payments were made from 2006 through 2022. WWE has said McMahon “has or will pay” all the expenses personally, and it expects to revise previous financial statements going back to 2019 to reflect the payments. WWE also said that an internal board investigation “expects to conclude that its internal control over financial reporting was not effective as a result of one or more material weaknesses.” WWE has lucrative licensing deals with entertainment giants such as Fox Corp. and NBCUniversal, which could be at risk due to these allegations. The company is also seeking new busines..

NXT LVL Up Results – July 15, 2022

NXT LVL Up Date: July 15, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Sudu Shah, Matt Camp For once I actually have some hope around here as there was something of an angle last week. Quincy Elliott cost Damaris Griffin and Bryson Montana a match last week and it might be time for some revenge. That could go a few ways, but there is also the chance that it is completely dropped. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quincy Elliott vs. Ikemen Jiro Jiro cartwheels to start so Elliott shoves him away and they exchange hand signals. A charge is pulled out of the air so Jiro elbows his way to freedom, only to collapse on a dumb slam attempt. Elliott works on a waistlock and then chops Jiro in the head to cut him off. Dancing/posing ensues but Jiro is back with the jacket punches. A superkick into the Lionsault gives Jiro two but he still can’t slam Elliott. Some hip attacks in the corner look to set up a running hip attack, which is blocked by J..

NXT Results – June 28, 2022

NXT Date: June 28, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph It’s the go home show for the Great American Bash and that means it is time for the big push towards the show. Most of the card is already set, including the NXT Title match main event, so we should be in for a good one. Odds are we get a little more from Legado del Fantasma and the D’Angelo Family, even if the Family is now down a member. Let’s get to it. Katana Chance/Kayden Carter vs. Roxanne Perez/Cora Jade The winners get a Tag Team Title shot next week. Cora and Carter start things off with a lockup until Jade grabs a wristlock. That’s broken up and Jade is sent into the corner, setting off a chop exchange. Chance comes in and rolls Jade down, allowing her to get in a smiling pose. Perez comes in to roll Chance up for two before working on the armbar. It’s off to Carter for some forearms to the chest and two of her own. Everything breaks down and Perez clears the..

Group Of International Stars Make Surprise AEW Debuts, Big Match Already Set

They have guest stars. AEW has several strengths and one of them has been the amount of international stars the company has brought in. As a result, AEW is able to offer all kinds of matches that fans might not be able to see on such a large stage. This will be the case again later this month at Forbidden Door, when New Japan and AEW wrestlers meet. It turns out we will be getting a bit of a preview. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured an in-ring segment between FTR and Trent Beretta. During the exchange, New Japan’s Will Ospreay’s name was mentioned, which caused Ospreay himself to appear. Ospreay’s distraction allowed the team of Aussie Open, part of Ospreay’s United Empire stable, to appear and jump all three. As a result, a six man tag was announced for this week’s edition of Rampage. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that I could go for, as Aussie Open and Ospreay have the ability to put on some excellent matches when given the chance. Throwing them in the ring with FT..
