They’re running out of time. With about a month and a half to go before WrestleMania 39, WWE has already started setting up the card for the show. There are a few matches already set but there are still some things that need to be established. This is also the first WrestleMania under the new regime and now it seems that the change is going to result in a different kind of show. AEW Interested In A Merger With WWE

When two become one. According to a report from CNBC, Shad and Tony Khan, owners of AEW, are interested in merging with WWE. The report states that AEW could partner with a strategic media company to share the intellectual property while merging the two companies. However, the idea that Vince McMahon would merge his company with AEW is a long shot. AEW hasn’t had talks with McMahon or Nick Khan, the new CEO for WWE. The Khans are open to discussing a potential role for McMahon, after a sale but haven’t yet had those talks. It’s unclear what type of job McMahon would want with WWE after a sale, primarily because WWE is a much larger and more established organization than AEW. WWE is reportedly planning to sell the company sometime in 2023. Editor’s Opinion: Wow, this is not the headline that I expected to read today. Pencil It Out: AEW Pulls Match From Full Gear, Reschedules It For Dynamite

Switch it up. AEW has been around for a little over three and a half years now and during that time they have established a schedule that they tend to follow for their major events. The company presents four regular pay per views, with the next installment coming this weekend. However, they have now made a last minute change, which will affect both this event and the next TV show. During a media call to promote Full Gear, AEW President Tony Khan announced that the finals of the Full Gear #1 contenders tournament have been moved from Full Gear to Dynamite. This comes after the first round match between Ricky Starks and Lance Archer was postponed due to Starks being not medically cleared to compete. The first round match will now take place on Rampage, with the winner facing Brian Cage on the Full Gear Zero Hour show. The winner of that will face Ethan Page on Dynamite. They have potential. The Usos Make Major WWE History

Down since Day One. Tonight on Smackdown, The Usos successfully defended their Undisputed Tag Team Championships against the New Day. In doing so, they ensured that they would be making WWE history. This coming Monday, November 14, will mark their 484th day as champions. This means that they will officially become the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time. Jimmy and Jey Uso have held the Smackdown Tag Team Championships since July 18, 2021, when they defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the Money in the Bank premium live event. They would add the Raw Tag Team Championships on May 20 of this year, when they defeated Randy Orton and Matt Riddle (RK-Bro) on an episode of Smackdown. Editor’s Opinion: This is freaking awesome and also very expected. The Bloodline has been the best storyline in professional wrestling over the last several years, and the Usos have firmly established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Reigning WWE Champion Wants To Change Title Into Something Completely Different

It would be a big change. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling and a change to one of them can mean quite a bit. There are all kinds of them floating around at the moment, especially in WWE. Occasionally the company makes a change to one of their established titles and now a current champion wants her title to be turned into something else. During a recent interview with the 10 Count podcast, reigning WWE 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke said that she wanted to transition her title into a women’s Intercontinental Title. Brooke felt that the amount of talent that the company has, including the returning stars, gives WWE enough depth to create such a title. There is nothing to suggest that WWE is interested in creating a women’s Intercontinental Title. NXT Halloween Havoc 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s that time again as we get another WCW event being used better by NXT than by WWE. Halloween Havoc is a simple concept that can be done rather well with a cool set and some rather gimmicky matches. As luck would have it, the second one of those is already guaranteed and the first is all but guaranteed so we should be in for a pretty fun, and maybe even eventful, night. Let’s get to it. Apollo Crews vs. Grayson Waller We’ll start with a match that we don’t know yet, as this is going to be Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal. Crews has suddenly developed the power of foresight and keeps seeing Waller in varying states of pain so now they’re having a match as a result. Waller is one of the hotter prospects in NXT and Crews is able to work well with just about anyone so, gimmick depending, this should be good. They might need someone new. We are coming up on Survivor Series, which will feature a pair of WarGames matches, with one involving men and another involving women. That means each match will involve two groups of wrestlers, some of which will possibly be a previously established stable. Some of those are already around, and now one of them might be interested in getting a new member. This week on Monday Night Raw, the OC (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) returned to WWE, reuniting with AJ Styles to help him in his fight against Judgment Day. BREAKING: Reigning New Japan Champion Returns To WWE

Welcome home. There is something exciting about a return in wrestling. A wrestler who comes back to a promotion where they have been before can make for a great moment, especially if they have been gone long enough. It makes for a great moment when you see someone back in a big way and that is exactly what took place this week on Monday Night Raw with two names at once. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles said that he needed some help against Judgment Day, which brought out the returning OC, better known as the Good Brothers, comprised of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The return was rumored earlier this week and brings the team, former Raw Tag Team Champions, back after a two plus year hiatus. Anderson is the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling and it is not clear what this means for the title. AEW Has Two Surprising Names Producing Matches And Coaching

a Now we know some of the newer people who are helping put those matches together. According to Fightful Select, both Luther and Serpentico have been working as backstage producers for AEW in recent weeks. Luther produced an unspecified match on this week’s Grand Slam edition of Rampage. It is not clear how long or which matches Serpentico has been producing. The two of them have teamed together as the Chaos Project, mainly working on Dark and Dark: Elevation. Opinion: This is a bit of a surprise but it does make sense to have some fresh minds producing some of the company’s matches. It can help a lot to have someone new get in on the job, if nothing else to take pressure off some of the more established producers. AEW “Toning Down” One Of Its Signature Concepts

Tone it down. AEW has shaken up the wrestling world and that has mainly been a good thing. The company has opened several doors for the industry, including allowing a lot of wrestlers a new place to go. One of the ways AEW has made its mark is through some unique ideas, but now they appear to be shifting away from one of the things they have used since their inception. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW is toning down its use of the ranking system. Since the titles were established, it has used a ranking system to determine the top five challengers to the World, Tag Team and Women’s Titles. However, the rankings have not been updated since before All Out and have not been emphasized as much on television in recent weeks. There is a chance that they could be brought back, but it does not seem that they will be used as much at the moment. Veteran AEW Star Suggests His 29 Year Career Will End Soon

That would be a big loss. There are a lot of wrestlers who comprise the AEW roster. The company has so many wrestlers in a mixture of newcomers, established names and veterans, who have come together to make for quite the impressive collection. However, sometimes a wrestler is going to head off and that seems to be happening again with a long tenured star. AEW’s Christopher Daniels has sent out a tweet saying that he is getting close to the end of the in-ring part of his wrestling life. Daniels, 52 years old, has been wrestling since April 1993 and has wrestled in various promotions around the world. He is currently the Head Of Talent Relations and an occasional wrestler for AEW. Daniels most recently faced Konosuke Takeshita over the weekend at the Tokyo Game Show. It seemed to work. With so many wrestlers around today, it can be a little bit difficult to find time for everyone to make an impression. One of the easiest ways is to put people together in a team, but even then they have to be established in some way. This can be tricky to do as well, but AEW pulled it off this week. It turns out they had a pretty long term plan in mind. Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland won the AEW Tag Team Titles in the main event of this week’s edition of Dynamite. That’s why they do it. There are all kinds of wrestling shows through the WWE’s calendar every year and some of them are more important than others. At the very top of the list is WrestleMania, which has long since been established as the biggest wrestling show of the year. It is such a big deal that cities will bid on the right to host it, and now we can see why that is the case. WWE has announced that this year’s WrestleMania 38 brought in $206 million in revenue to the Dallas, Texas area. This is a new record for WrestleMania revenue and the first time the show has broken two hundred million dollars. The revenue brought in was the equivalent of 1,777 full time jobs in the area, as 67% of the fans were from outside the Dallas/Arlington region. That’s A Big Miss: Top Name May Not Appear At AEW Forbidden Door

He would be missed. We are coming up on one of the more interesting wrestling shows in a good many years with AEW’s Forbidden Door. The show will include a series of matches between AEW and New Japan wrestlers, including some title matches. While several big names have been mentioned, it seems unlikely that one of the will be on the show due to a special circumstance. Over the last two weeks of AEW Dynamite, Hangman Page has called out Kazuchika Okada for a match at Forbidden Door. However, according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Okada is unlikely to be at the show as his wife is expected to give birth around the same time as Forbidden Door (June 26). Okada’s status for the show is not yet clear but it will be established by next week. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could shake up the pay per view quite a bit, as Okada is one of the names that you almost must have to make the show work. Maybe later. AEW has quite the talent roster, comprised of a varying mixture of wrestlers. This includes established veterans, current top stars and young up and coming talent. With so much talent available, it is impossible to keep track of everyone and sometimes a wrestler might not be able to fit in on the roster. That is the case again and you might not be seeing a young star again. According to Fightful, Jake Atlas is not expected back with AEW in the future. Atlas has not appeared with the company since he tore his ACL in January. Despite being shown in the “Jake Atlas Is All Elite” graphic that normally means that he is signed to a contract, Atlas was on a per appearance deal. Since then, Atlas has been arrested for domestic violence. AEW has not commented on Atlas’ situation. This week on NXT, Cameron Grimes challenged Bron Breakker for an NXT Title shot at the Great American Bash on July 5, with Breakker accepting. They’re the new ones. AEW has come a very long way in a short amount of time and a lot of that has been due to the roster of wrestlers that the company has put together. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured two first round matches in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Each match included a Joker, or wild card entry. It’s their identity. Theme music is one of the most important parts of a wrestler’s presentation. Without the right song, a wrestler might not be presented in the right way and that can cause them all kinds of problems. A theme song sets the mood for a wrestler and now one of the more established names in WWE is shaking things up a bit with a new theme song. This week on Monday Night Raw, Alexa Bliss defeated Shayna Baszler for the second week in a row. Prior to the match, Bliss debuted a new theme song, replacing the music that she had used for most of her main roster career. The song included lyrics, marking a change from Bliss’ normal music. This was the second straight appearance for Bliss on Monday Night Raw, following three months of inactivity.
