AEW Rampage Results – February 24, 2023

Rampage Date: February 24, 2023 Location: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona Commentators: Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We’re still in the desert and Rampage is still searching for a more viable formula. I’m not sure why AEW seems to punt on this show so often but it does produce some enjoyable results. If you can get by without the star power after the first match, you should be in for a fun one and hopefully that is true this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Aussie Open vs. Young Bucks Kenny Omega is here with the Bucks. The Aussies deck the Bucks to start and isolate Matt for a kick to the chest and backsplash. Matt manages to backflip away from both of them and brings in Nick to walk the ropes into a wristdrag/headscissors combination. The Bucks clear the ring but the bigger Davis comes back in to slam them both at the same time. Nick’s pop up dropkick sends Davis to the floor though and Matt grabs a running flipping neckbreaker to send Fletcher int..

When I was Universal Champion, I had this incredible run with Chris Jericho and so many great moments, so many fun moments that people still talk about today. I’m ashamed to say that I really did not enjoy that as much as I should have.” Owens won the title after Finn Balor was forced to vacate the championship due to injury shortly after becoming the first-ever champion. A New Kind: AEW May Be Planning A New Show With A Very Specific Theme

It’s a different audience. AEW has come a very long way in less than three and a half years and a lot of that is due to the variety that you are going to see on any one of their shows. The company has figured out how to put together a bunch of different pieces to make events more enjoyable. This often means not focusing on just one thing, but that might be changing in the future. According to PWInsider.com, AEW has trademarked the term “All Elite Women” for a variety of uses, including streaming pay per view events over the internet. While not confirmed, this could mean that AEW is planning for either some kind of a show focused on women or featuring women. There is no word on what the specific show would be or when AEW might make an announcement about it. Opinion: This is an interesting one as AEW has long since focused on their women’s division. It would not surprise me to see the division get its own stand alone show, or perhaps some kind of a YouTube streaming show. Replacing eit..

NXT Results – July 5, 2022 (Great American Bash)

NXT Date: July 5, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph It’s another special night this week, as we have the Great American Bash. That means we have a stacked card, including multiple title matches. The main event is Cameron Grimes challenging Bron Breakker for the NXT Title, which should be a heck of a match. NXT does well enough with these shows so let’s get to it. The opening video is at a cookout, hosted by Fallon Henley, Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs. Most of the roster is there, with Jensen enjoying the women in the pool and wrestlers making various wrestling related threats. Homecoming: WWE Hall Of Famer Returns To Company After Long Recovery From Surgery

Welcome back. There are a lot of people who work together to many any wrestling show work and WWE is certainly no exception. WWE Isn’t Sure When Roman Reigns Will Have His Next Title Defense

They might want to work on that. Titles are the easiest concept to understand in wrestling, as any fan can get the idea of someone holding a shiny belt. Someone holding a title means that they are the best around and people are coming for you. That can set up some major matches, but now it might be a little while before that happens again with the top title in WWE. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has yet to make up its mind on when WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will next defend his title. The company is considering having him defend at either Money In The Bank on July 2 or at Summerslam on July 30. Reigns has been Universal Champion since August 30, 2020 and won the WWE Title from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 in April. Opinion: I know WWE is enjoying the idea of pushing Reigns as the be all and end all of stars today, but I’m still not feeling this idea of several months with no title defenses. At that point, why bother having him as champion if he isn’t ..

Top AEW Star Announces Coronavirus Diagnosis, Missing This Week’s Dynamite

That might slow him down. The Coronavirus changed the way the world worked, including the wrestling industry. While most of the things are now back to the way things were before, there is always the chance that something can go wrong and put someone on the shelf for a little while. That seems to be the case again and now it is going to keep a top name on the shelf. AEW World Title Hangman Page has revealed that he will be missing this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite due to being diagnosed with the Coronavirus. There is no word on when Page will be back. Last week saw Page seem to enter into a new feud with CM Punk, as the two stared at each other after Punk’s match. NXT LVL Up Date: April 15, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness We’re back to normal around here and that might not be the worst thing. LVL Up has figured out something of a formula and it makes for a nicer show. I’m not sure what to expect from here but it has turned into something a lot more enjoyable than 205 Live was at times. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Roxanne Perez vs. Sloane Jacobs Perez is better known as Rok-C in her debut. The bigger Jacobs backs her up against the ropes to start but Perez slips out and offers a curtsy, setting up an armdrag. Jacobs drops her throat first across the top though and a neckbreaker gets two. The crossarm choke has Perez in more trouble but she’s back up with a small package for two of her own. Perez knocks her down though and it’s a twisting handspring moonsault for two. A Code Red gives Perez the pin at 4:19. Result: Roxanne Perez b. Sloane Jacobs – Code Red (4:19) Damon..

Another AEW Name Announces Departure From The Company

Fare thee well. AEW has shaken up the wrestling world and it has made for some rather exciting moments. There is something special about seeing someone show up and making their AEW debut, as the company has landed some major stars. That creates the problem of overloading the roster, which means some wrestlers have to make their leave. Now we have another name being written off of the roster. Jack Evans has announced that his AEW contract will be expiring later this month and he will not be re-signing with the company. Evans described his time with the company as “fun and enjoyable” and thanked the fans and company for the time. During his time with AEW, Evans was mainly a tag team wrestler in the Hybrid 2 with Angelico. Evans last wrestled on AEW Dark on February 5. My time with #AEW has been a fun and enjoyable but it has come to an end as I will not be re-signed when my contract ends at the end of April. I'd like to thank everyone at AEW and the AEW fans for the opportunity. ..

Triple H Makes Surprise WWE Return With Message For The Roster

Welcome back. A return can be a very special thing in wrestling as you never know when you might see one. That can make it all the more interesting when you see someone pop up that you didn’t expect. It can be all the more emotional when it is someone who is coming back after a serious issue. That was the case this week, though it wasn’t something that took place on camera. According to Fightful Select, Triple H surprised the WWE roster by making an appearance at a talent meeting this week. This was one of Triple H’s first appearances in any official capacity after his heart issue in August of last year. In an interview with Metro, Kevin Owens said that the message of the speech was “enjoy this”. There is no word on when Triple H will be back to work full time for WWE, or if he ever will be. In addition, also according to Fightful Select, the wrestlers were told they would be making more money off of third party deals, including Cameo, signings and more, making it a “great” start to t..

MJF Star Praised WWE Television, Says He Loves Every Show

That’s a different take. Most of the last twenty years of professional wrestling have been dominated by WWE. The company has been so far and away ahead of any other promotion that it has lapped the field. Then in 2019, AEW made its debut and instantly became one of the biggest promotions in the world. The two companies have competed since then and taken some shots at each other, but now one prominent AEW wrestler has some nice things to say about WWE. During an interview with Ariel Helwani, AEW’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman praised WWE programming and its wrestlers, talking about how he much he enjoyed seeing WWE’s stars develop. He praised Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard for the work they have been doing, while saying that the only think the company was missing was himself. Friedman had a lot to say. Check out the full interview: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: While you never can tell exactly how serious or sincere Friedman is, he does s..

Another WWE Star May Not Be Long For The Company

Enjoy him while you can. Wrestlers have been leaving WWE in droves in recent years, with several of them being due to mass releases the company has undergone. The majority of these releases came from NXT, which has been almost completely overhauled since last fall. There is a wing that has remained mostly untouched, though one of its names may be on the way out as well. According to Fightful Select, WWE’s contract negotiations with Flash Morgan Webster have stalled and the NXT UK star’s contract has expired. However, he is still with the company on a short term extension. There is no word on if the two sides are expected to come to an agreement or not. Webster has not wrestled since October due to a shoulder injury and he is not expected back in the ring until June. Opinion: Maybe it’s due to the different location, but you don’t hear much about NXT UK wrestlers leaving WWE. Webster has grown on me a lot in recent months and I could go for having him stick around. I could go for havi..
