Impact Wrestling Date: February 9, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, Florida Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt No Surrender is coming up and most of the card has been set up so far. That includes the World Title match, which has not exactly gotten a ton of hype. Maybe it is because it seems we have another challenger on the horizon, but Rich Swann challenging Josh Alexander isn’t exactly feeling huge. Hopefully they can get some more of it covered this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Matt Cardona arrives and says he’s in the main event tonight. He is shown to his private dressing room with champagne and shrimp cocktails, but it turns out this is Joe Hendry’s room. Cardona is shown to a closet instead. No Surrender #1 Contenders Qualifying Match: Brian Myers vs. Dirty Dango They run the ropes to start until Dango armdrags him into an armbar. Myers’ sunset flip is blocked and Dango drops a leg before they head outside. A posting cuts Dango off and of..
He’s back! At tonight’s Impact Wrestling Hard to Kill pay-per-view event, former WWE superstar Santino Marella made his debut in Impact Wrestling. Marella made his entrance after Moose used a low blow to defeat Joe Hendry and announced that he is now in the role of the Director of Authority. He then restarted the match, which led to Hendry getting the win and retaining the Digital Media Championship. You can see a clip of the return below: .@milanmiracle is HERE and is the BRAND NEW Director of Authority! @TheMooseNation and @joehendry CONTINUES! #HardToKill pic.twitter.com/CY68Ndy8hF — IMPACT (@IMPACTWRESTLING) January 14, 2023 According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, Marella, whose real name is Anthony Carelli, is able to use the “Santino Marella” name because WWE abandoned the trademark some time ago and it was registered by attorney Mike Dockins last month. He retired from WWE due to neck issues and he has been running the BattleArts school/promotion in Toronto. Editor’s ..
Impact Wrestling Date: November 24, 2022 Hosts: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s Thanksgiving and that means we are in for a special Best Of show around here. That’s about as logical as you’re going to get for this time of year as there is no reason to believe that anyone is going to pay attention to a show on such a big holiday. You never know what you’ll see on something like this but let’s get to it. Opening sequence. The hosts welcome us to the show and promise us some great Thanksgiving moments, plus a look at Overdrive. We’ll start with Thanksgiving 2008, with Rhino pinning Alex Shelley in a triple threat match also involving Sheik Abdul Bashir. As a result, Rhino gets $25,000 and Shelley has to wear a turkey suit, as enforced by Mick Foley with threats of firings/bad history lessons. Wrestlers say what they are thankful for (Joe Hendry is thankful for mirrors because he gets to see who he really is). Deaner asks Eric Young if this is the end of Violent By Design but doe..
He’s earned it. AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as the company now allows several other wrestlers a top level platform. This has allowed various veterans to move up the ladder a lot faster than they would otherwise, which means giving fans some new stars on national television. Now we might be seeing another newcomer appear full time, if he is willing to say yes. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT; Pencil It Out: AEW Pulls Match From Full Gear, Reschedules It For Dynamite This week on AEW Dynamite, AR Fox made his AEW television debut when he teamed with Top Flight in a losing effort against Death Triangle. Following the match, Fox and Top Flight were interviewed backstage, during which Fox was told that he was being offered a full time AEW contract. While Fox has not signed the deal, according to Fightful Select, AEW officials expect him to do so. Fox has responded to the news, thanking fans for their support and saying he has not had a dry eye in twenty four hours. Ayo the s..
Impact Wrestling Date: November 10, 2022 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We have two shows left before Overdrive and the card is mostly already set. This week is likely going to be a lot more firming up of the card, plus some extra X-Division Title tournament matches. The tournament still needs a final and we are probably getting closer to one this week. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Digital Media Title: Joe Hendry vs. Brian Myers Myers, with Matt Cardona, is defending. Before the match, Hendry promises to be a Digital Media Champion that will inspire the comments section. The fans make it clear that THEY BELIEVE as Hendry works on the arm to start. A delayed suplex gives Hendry two but Myers is right back with a kick to the face. The chinlock goes on for a bit before Myers switches to a guillotine choke. That’s broken up with straight power into a suplex but the Standing Ovation is blocked. Myers hits a..
That is pretty cut and dry. Over the last three plus years, AEW has gone from an idea to the second biggest wrestling company in the world. As a result, there are now several more spots available for wrestlers to show what they can do on a bigger stage. This certainly has its advantages, but it does not mean that everyone on the roster is pleased. Now management is taking some steps to keep people around. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW President Tony Khan has issued a new edict saying “nobody’s getting released”. This comes amid rumors of WWE contacting several AEW wrestlers with the hopes of them requesting their releases and coming back to WWE. Rumored names include Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews, though Black has denied the rumors. Opinion: This is a tricky one as while the wrestlers do want out of AEW, they also signed contracts saying that they would be around. That only leaves so much room for negotiations or an attempt to get out and I’m not sure how well that is..
Add them on. WWE has a lot of major shows throughout the year and some of them need something extra to make them stand out. As a result, WWE has special themes for a lot of its shows, some of which are about as cut and dry as you can get. That includes next month’s Extreme Rules, which will be built around more violent matches. We ight have seen two more added this week. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE added a stipulation to a previously announced match and likely added an entirely new match. The show opened with an exchange between Bayley and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. Bayley said she wanted their already announcement match at Extreme Rules to be a ladder match, which was made official later in the show. The final segment of the show saw Edge make his return and challenge Finn Balor to an I Quit match at Extreme Rules, though that match has yet to be made official. Opinion: This is the kind of night that the show needed as there wasn’t a ton of extreme on the card. WWE h..
The evening was young. There are a lot of wrestlers under the WWE banner but there is only so much television time for all of them to share. On occasion that is not going to be enough to go around but WWE is known for putting on some more material after the cameras go off. That was the situation again this week as WWE was able to get in a dry run of an upcoming title match. As seen on Twitter, this week’s post SmackDown dark match saw United States Champion Bobby Lashley successfully defend his title against Ciampa. This is the same match that will be taking place next week on Monday Night Raw, after Ciampa earned the shot in a series of matches on this week’s show. Neither Lashley nor Ciampa appeared on SmackDown as they are both Monday Night Raw stars. There is a lot to this. Check out the full match from after SmackDown: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes sense for WWE, as the two of them getting to put in some practice befor..
Ring Of Honor Date: January 26, 2022 We took a little detour last week into the history of the women’s division but this time around we should be back to normal. Well, at least as normal as you can get while the company is on hiatus and we’re looking at the Best Of Ring of Honor. That could mean a few things, but odds are we’ll be seeing more of the recent stuff. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Narrator Ian Riccaboni welcomes us to the show, where we will be going back to Final Battle in December 2021. TV Title: Dalton Castle vs. Rhett Titus vs. Joe Hendry vs. Silas Young Castle is defending and it’s one fall to a finish, with Castle bailing to the floor to walk into the crowd. Hendry gets taken outside so Young can send him into the barricade. Back in and Castle t-bone suplexes Young, meaning it’s time for a lap around the ring. Titus comes in for a quick rollup but gets sent outside for an apron flip dive from Young. Hendry blasts Titus with a clothesline but gets belly to be..
The more things change. WWE is almost ready to go back on the road and that is going to open up a lot of doors. There are so many different benefits from running live events, including extra practice for the wrestlers, a dry run to see what works and what doesn’t and more exposure, but there is one more big thing. However, this time around WWE might be making even more changes. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE might have made a variety of NXT callups in response to the lower ticket sale advances on the company’s upcoming return to touring. Vince McMahon was reportedly unhappy with the amount of tickets being sold and made the callups as a result. So far, Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox have appeared on the main roster, with the chance of more to come. Live events can be fascinating. Check out some of the cool things you can see there and how callups work: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, clic..
We’re moving forward. Impact Wrestling has undergone a renaissance this year with some of the best television they’ve put on in years, including a heck of a show at Slammiversary. It’s been one of the best things I’ve seen them do in a very long time and I’m actually curious to see where they’re going to go in the future. Now we know where some of those things are going to be going. Impact Wrestling was back at the Rebel Sports Complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sunday to tape some more television. It’s not clear when this show will air but the most likely date would be sometime later this month, probably starting on August 19. There is always the chance that these results will air out of order, which is a common situation for Impact Wrestling. Here are the results, courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com: * Joe Hendry defeated Tyson Dux (Xplosion Match) * LAX (w/ Konnan) defeated Tarik and Brent Banks (Xplosion Match) * Brian Cage (c) defeated Fenix (w/ Pentagon Jr.) (Impact X Division C..

Reby Sky caught wind of Jeff Jarrett’s recent interview where he claims that Impact Wrestling owns the right’s to the “BROKEN” gimmick. He took to her Twitter and made the following remarks:

“Stop doing stupid interviews before I release your drunk texts & the DUI records that somehow haven’t gotten out WAIT OOPS. Don’t say you wanna be done with drama in a quiet manner & then have company stooges like Jeff & Dutch give interviews spewing BS. If the issue was as simple & cut/dry as these morons are trying to make it seem, I wouldn’t have been out here fighting for my family. Truth is TNA can’t afford to go to court over this, so they’re going to downplay it to anyone who will listen & lie to look powerful. Money is power. Never forget that.”
