It’s Revolution and things are not exactly feeling hot coming into the show. The main event is a sixty minute Iron Man match with Bryan Danielson challenging MJF for the World Title, which means there won’t be as much time for the usual deep card this time. Other than that, we have Hangman Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match and Christian Cage vs. Jungle Boy in what seems to be a Buried Alive match. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mark Briscoe/Lucha Bros vs. Ari Daivari/Varsity Athletes The Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Sterling and company feud continues for reasons I don’t think I follow. Briscoe also has some new friends in the Lucha Bros and that means we could be in for a new trio. The division could certainly use them, but for now they have to get rid of something like this, as AEW is giving them a nice spot to get their feet wet as a three man team. Of course I’ll take Briscoe and the Bros here, as there is no reason to suggest that Daivari and company will ever be winning anything..
She’ll need something new. With so many wrestlers on the AEW roster and so little television time, it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. One of the most common solutions is to put wrestlers together into groups so they can be on screen at the same time. Occasionally changes still need to be made though and that seems to be the case again. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: There He Is: Explanation Behind Eddie Kingston Quitting AEW Revealed The top storyline in the AEW women’s division is a feud between the AEW originals and the division’s newcomers. The originals, comprised of Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter, have been fighting against Saraya and Toni Storm, but their usual friend Rebel has been missing. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rebel is no longer being used in the story. Since Baker and Hayter are being presented as babyfaces, there is no need for them to have a third woman. There is no word on what Rebel will be doing next. Rebel fits in well with the ..
That’s a way back in. There have been almost countless wrestlers on the WWE roster over the years and some of them have been able to make a bigger impact than others. At some point, those wrestlers are going to have to leave for one reason or another. Occasionally they make a return though, and that might be the case with a former champion returning in a different role. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Ouch: Ronda Rousey Blasts Women’s Division, Calls For More Title Defenses This week on SmackDown, a new edition of the Firefly Funhouse aired, featuring a series of clips presented like a local television station. There was a voiceover announcing what was taking place, and according to Wrestlingnews.co, the voiceover sounded like Eric Young. This comes after rumors that Young was to be returning to WWE, though this is only speculation at this point, with nothing being confirmed. Young, 43, wrestled in WWE from 2016-2020. She kind of has a point. Women’s wrestling in WWE has come a very long way in the last few years, as the division has gone from little more than a side show to one of the company’s featured attractions. There are more women’s titles and stars being given a chance than ever before, but that does not mean everyone is pleased. One of the bigger stars in the division has something to say about her colleagues. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: WWE Superstar Continues To Show Change In Attitude This week’s SmackDown featured Shayna Baszler, with Ronda Rousey, defeating Natalya, with Tegan Nox. The match marked the first time that Nox and Natalya had worked together, with a vignette showing them setting up their newly formed partnership earlier in the day. Following the show, Rousey took to Twitter to say the SmackDown women’s tag team division consists of Natalya and anyone she can find that week. Rousey also criticized WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Damage Ctrl of not defending their titles. ..
She had to apologize. There are all kinds of wrestlers on any given roster and at some point, there are going to be some issues. Such problems can start small and become much bigger in a hurry, which can happen to any roster. You never know how bad things might get and problems need to be addressed at some point. That has been the case in AEW but now things are getting a bit better. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Triple Threat: Three Superstars Make Surprise Returns On AEW Dynamite According to Fightful Select, the AEW women’s division held a meeting on February 8 where Thunder Rosa attempted to make amends for some of her issues with the rest of the locker room. This included dealing with Rosa’s alleged sandbagging of opponents and working stiff, along with making members of the roster look like bullies. The meeting was described as “productive” with hopes for a clean slate. Rosa has been out of action since September but she is expected to return to the ring soon. She has since joined the ..
It’s a homecoming. NXT has been a complete game changer for WWE, as the company has its own developmental system, which happens to air on national television. As a result, NXT stars have become big deals in their own right, with the show having a legacy of its own. That includes names from before NXT went national, but now one of them will be appearing on the bigger version of the show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It’s A Way Out: Speculation Over How WWE Could Solve Tag Team Titles Dilemma WWE has announced that Bayley will be appearing on this week’s edition of NXT for a special edition of her Ding Dong Hello show, featuring Toxic Attraction as her guests. Bayley is a former NXT Women’s Champion and member of the Four Horsewomen who helped establish the NXT women’s division before NXT began airing on television. There is nothing to suggest that this is anything more than a one off appearance. BREAKING: @itsBayleyWWE will be on #WWENXT this Tuesday for a special edition of "Ding Dong Hel..
It’s a family thing. Tag team wrestling has been undergoing a bit of a resurgence in WWE as of late, with more teams being formed and a more competitive division overall. While this has been going on, the Usos have reigned on high as one of the most dominant teams in WWE history. However, a change in plans might require someone else in the family to step in for a change. At the Royal Rumble, the Bloodline attacked Sami Zayn but Jey Uso refused to get involved, resulting in Uso not appearing this week on SmackDown. The Usos have a Tag Team Title defense scheduled against Braun Strowman and Ricochet next week on SmackDown, though there is doubt over whether Jey will team with his brother Jimmy. During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated (rather than reported) that WWE could have the Usos’ brother Solo Sikoa team with Jimmy in Jey’s place. Jimmy and Sikoa teamed together this week in a dark match after SmackDown. Jey is still scheduled for the title matc..
She’s back. WWE has had a number of returns in the past 48 hours, with names such as Chelsea Green and Rick Boogs returning to the company. However, there was an additional name that also made her presence felt on television. Carmella made her return to WWE programming on tonight’s episode of Raw. It was also announced that she would be in a Fatal-4-way match on next week’s show, along with Candice LaRae, Michin, and Piper Niven. The winner of that match will qualify for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match, where the winner will face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. After the announcement, Carmella was interviewed backstage, where she was confronted by Asuka, who had blue liquid running out of her mouth. Editor’s Opinion: F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! I have been a fan of Carmela’s for a long time and it is great to see her back on television. I’ve always thought that she had something to offer the company and with the momentum that the Raw women’s division has..

The latter means that we need a new #1 contender and we will have one by the end of the night due to a six way elimination match. Other than that, Bully Ray now seems to have to deal with Mickie James and possibly Frankie Kazarian so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. X-Division Title: Mike Jackson vs. Trey Miguel Jackson, 73 years old, is challenging and gets wristlocked down to start. Some running shoulders and a hiptoss have Miguel down for a change but Miguel punches him in the face. A hammerlock slam puts Jackson down but he avoids the springboard moonsault. An atomic drop sends Jackson outside, where he is fine enough to post Miguel. Back in and Jackson stays on the arm but takes too long with Oldest School, allowing Miguel to pull him down. Monday Night Raw Date: January 16, 2023 Location: Heritage Bank Center, Cincinnati, Ohio Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick We’re less than two weeks away from the Royal Rumble and also quite possibly on the second straight week of doing very little because the show is up against a huge football game. Then it fell apart. Women’s wrestling in WWE has come a very long way in recent years, with the division reaching heights that are almost impossible to fathom. The rise has been led by a group of women who have become some of the top stars in WWE. However, not all of them get along as well as others and now we know a bit more about what caused a specific split. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Top WWE Stable Could Move In Upcoming Draft Jeff Dye, Becky Lynch’s ex-boyfriend and the co-host on Wrestling With Freddie, discussed the breakdown of her relationship with Charlotte on a recent edition of the show. According to Dye, the issues began to occur when the two women were feuding in 2018. The two would say things about each other in promos but then start to take the statements seriously. In addition, Dye said that Charlotte was having a difficult time accepting that Lynch was becoming the face of the women’s division. Lynch would go on to defeat Charlotte and Ronda Rousey in ..
Run it back? WWE has been undergoing a lot of changes in the last few months and those changes seem to be continuing for the time being. This includes some things that might have been prominent in NXT but are only starting to make their main roster debuts. Now another idea might be getting to showcase itself on the main roster for the first time in a long while (or ever, depending on how you look at it). Ciampa is currently out of action following hip surgery in October. There is no word on when he is expected to return. Gargano and Ciampa wrestled together a handful of times in 2019 but not under the DIY name..
That would be extreme. Wrestling today is nothing close to what it was twenty years ago. The industry has completely changed with several aspects being nothing close to what it was before. This includes women’s wrestling, which has gone from little more than a side show to one of the focal points of WWE’s product. However, one wrestling legend has a certain thought process on modern WWE women’s wrestling and it’s rather different. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: She’s Missed: Backstage Reaction To Mandy Rose’s Surprise WWE Release During a recent edition of the Smack Talk podcast, wrestling legend Dutch Mantel criticized Tegan Nox’s return to WWE, saying she was unsure of herself. Mantel did say that the issue could have been attributed to ring rust but was not impressed with Nox’s armdrags. He also said that he would fire everyone in the division, save for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, only to hire them back five minutes later, just to show that he could. Nox didn’t seem to impress Mante..
She would be a big deal. The rise of AEW has led to a variety of stars getting a fresh chance on a new show. It can make a lot of difference to those stars as they might not have had the chance to shine before. That is not always the case though, as some big stars have moved from one promotion to another. Now some people are excited about another possible jump. One AEW source said they believed Kaestner-Varnado could be an “anchor” for the women’s division and a likely viewership draw. There is currently nothing to suggest that Kaestner-Varnado will be signing with AEW, leaving this as speculation at the moment. The star power is there. Check out ..
