WWE Executive Explains “Up Or Out” Rule Regarding NXT Releases

That’s their policy. There are some incredibly talented stars in NXT, which is an important destination for several wrestlers. It is the official developmental territory for WWE and being there means that a wrestler is on their way to the main roster. That is in theory at least as some wrestlers never quite make it. Now a WWE executive is explaining the process behind making it or not. During a new interview with Wrestlerant, WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Operations and Strategy James Kimball explained the WWE’s “Up Or Out” rule. The idea is that if a wrestler is signed to a developmental deal but does not appear as a regular on NXT TV in two years, they will likely be let go. WWE’s position is that there are so many wrestlers that need to be rotated in that they do not have the space to spend on someone moving so slowly. There is no word on who has been released from WWE under this policy. Opinion: This might sound a bit harsh but it does make some sense. At the end of the day..

RUMOR: WWE Taking Summerslam International

Air trip? WWE is the world’s biggest wrestling company and that is a spot they have had for a very long time now. They go around the world on a regular basis and have shows in various countries. Some of these are bigger than others, but you do not see the most important shows of the year take place overseas. That might no longer be the case next year. According to Whatculture.com, WWE is looking to run a major event in the United Kingdom in September 2022, with hopes of a stadium that holds over 90,000 people. There is a chance that this could be Summerslam, which would be celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of Summerslam 1992, which was held in Wembley Stadium in London, England. According to talkSport, WWE is in discussions to hold Summerslam in the United Kingdom, with Wales’ Principality Stadium being WWE’s preferred destination. WWE has yet to announce any plans for the show. WWE has gone international before. Check out some of their bigger shows outside of the United States: ..

RUMOR: Update On Tessa Blanchard’s Status (And It Isn’t Good)

I guess that’s a no? WWE and AEW are the two most prominent wrestling companies in America and that is not likely to change in the near future. That means they are going to be the highest level destinations for all kinds of wrestlers, many of whom are currently not with a major company. One prominent free agent has been away for a long time, and that is likely to continue. According to Bodyslam.net, there are no plans for either AEW or WWE to bring in former Impact Wrestling World Champion Tessa Blanchard at this point. Blanchard is said to be “nuclear”, mainly due to allegations that she used a racial slur against wrestler La Rosa Negra while on a tour of Japan. There is no word on when Blanchard will wrestle again, though her most recent match took place on September 12, 2020. There are other women out there. VIDEO: Former WWE Star Teases Next Move In Wrestling

They have my attention. The biggest wrestling story of the year continues to be the string of WWE releases, as the question becomes where the wrestlers are going to head next. There are several options available, with the highest profile destination still being AEW. Not everyone can get there, but now we might have a hint of where someone else is heading after leaving WWE. Ruby Soho, formerly known as Ruby Riott in WWE, has posted a video of herself with a train ticket from Orlando, Florida, the home of NXT, to New York City. However, Soho misses her train, with the words “The Runaway, to be continued” appearing to end the video. This comes as AEW is on its way to New York City for Grand Slam, as well as Rochester, New York for an episode of Dynamite. There is no guarantee that Soho will be signing with AEW. This is certainly interesting. Check out the video, plus Soho’s time in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post co..

Another WWE Star’s Contract Expiring Very Soon

Not another one. The wrestling landscape has been changing quite a bit as of late and a lot of that has been due to all of the names moving around from one promotion to the other. While WWE is still the biggest promotion in the world, it is not the be all and end all destination for every wrestler these days. Now it seems that another WWE wrestler might be up for grabs sooner rather than later. According to Fightful Select, former NXT United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne’s contract is expiring rather soon. While not confirmed, one source said that it could be as soon as Summerslam weekend later this month. This would be similar to the time scale for Adam Cole’s contract, though it is not clear if Dunne signed a short term extension to reach this point like Cole did. There is no word on what Dunne’s plans are, including nothing to suggest that he is wanting to leave WWE. Dunne, 27 years old, debuted for WWE in 2017 and made it to the finals of the United Kingdom Championship Tournament ..

Adam Cole’s Undisputed WWE Era Coming To An End?

Adam Cole is the latest in a long line of WWE stars who is rumored to be heading to another company. The former NXT champion has been plying his craft on WWE’s black and gold brand since 2017. During that time, he’s become a cornerstone of the brand. But like many others before him, Cole could find new life outside of Vince McMahon’s company. However while fans begin to debate the pros and cons of such a departure, the question is could Adam Cole remain right were he is? Fans have been down this road many times over the past year. Every time WWE releases a batch of talent, the rush is on to predict what will happen next. Much of that speculation usually includes All Elite Wrestling, which has been the destination for many stars post-WWE. [This post contains video, click to play] Elite Company Tony Khan’s company has made serious waves in the pro wrestling industry and is firmly established as the second biggest promotion in the United States. The company features Hall of Fame lege..

The Former IIconics Make Announcement On Their Post WWE Plans

Stick around for a bit. There are several wrestling promotions in the world today but, as has been the case for a very long time now, WWE is the biggest and most influential of all. Being a part of the WWE roster can make someone’s career, even if they are not around very long. Two names who have left the company are now going to try to see what they can do without WWE behind them. Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee, formerly known as Billie Kay and Peyton Royce as the IIconics in WWE, were interviewed by Busted Open Radio and said that they planned to stay together after leaving WWE. It is not known where the two will be signing in the future, though McKay mentioned that AEW or Impact Wrestling are both potential destinations. Their no compete clauses will end in mid-July. The pair are former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, having won the titles at WrestleMania 35. Following their loss of the titles, the team eventually split and wrestled on their own. Kay would team with Carmella at Wrest..

Independent Wrestling Star Appears To Have Signed With NXT

One more on the roster. WWE is a rather powerful wrestling company which can do a lot of good things with what they have. Their status and financial resources are very alluring to a lot of wrestlers and it is not surprising to see a lot of wrestlers wanting to be brought to the company, even if it means that they are going to be in the NXT developmental system. Another wrestler is likely to be doing just that. While it is still the official minor league of WWE, NXT is quite the destination for a lot of wrestlers. The weekly television show is broadcast on national television every Wednesday night and the promotion features a heck of a lineup with some of the top independent wrestlers in the world having walked through the doors at one time or another. Now NXT might have picked up another name. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, independent wrestlers Alex Zayne is believed to have signed with WWE. This comes after Zayne has wrapped up his independent dates and has not ann..

Chelsea Green Makes Her Debut on Smackdown

It had been previously reported that Chelsea Green had been called up to the main roster, but hadn’t made her appearance on either Raw or Smackdown. However, it would seem that her final destination has been revealed. Tonight on Smackdown, Green made her official debut on the blue brand for Smackdown. After appearing for a brief moment with Adam Pearce backstage, she was announced as a surprise entrant in a Fatal 4-way match for a spot on the Women’s Survivor Series team. The other participants in the match were Natalya, Tamina and Liv Morgan. You can see a clip of her in her match below: In the match, Morgan pinned Tamina to pick up the victory. Editor’s Note: This is very interesting, because usually when a superstar gets a surprise entrance like Green did, they usually pick up the victory. However, about midway through the match, she left the ring and didn’t really return, while the others were battling it out. Either way, it’s great to see her back on television and I hope th..

WWE May Be Getting Three Brand New Independent Stars

Nice to meet you. While it might not be as popular as it was before, WWE is still the biggest and strongest wrestling promotion in the world. It is still the most well known company in all of the industry and that is going to make it an attractive target for a lot of wrestlers. A lot of wrestlers would love to make it to WWE and now a group of them might be making their way there. While it is not the top of the WWE charts, NXT has become a very attractive place for wrestlers to go. It has become a special destination for wrestlers and the roster has some of the more talented wrestlers in the world. They are also constantly rotating names in and out as some names are going to go up to the main roster from time to time. Now they might get three new names added to their ranks. According to Wrestlinginc.com, the Rascalz are going to be signing with WWE. The trio (Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel) are officially still free agents but signing with WWE is seen as a formality at..

VIDEO: Released WWE Wrestler Wins Major World Title

And then things changed. The wrestling world is changing in a big way these days and that has caused some rather fascinating changes throughout a variety of companies. That isn’t the kind of thing that you see very often and some of the changes have been better than others. One of the biggest was WWE releasing dozens of wrestlers in a few days back in April, many of which have found work elsewhere. One has made it to the top of another company in a hurry. While AEW seems to be the most desired destination for a lot of wrestlers, there are other companies that can seem rather intriguing for some of the people looking for work. Some former WWE stars have been successes elsewhere before and in this case, one recently released WWE star has found his way back to another promotion and is already doing rather well there. This week on Impact Wrestling, Eric Young won the World Title by defeating Eddie Edwards. Young was released from WWE in April and made his return to Impact Wrestling at Sl..

I’m Glad You Mentioned That. WWE Adds A New Detail To Women’s Tag Team Titles.

That’s an important detail to mention. On Sunday night at Elimination Chamber, the Boss N Hug Connection of Sasha banks and Bayley became the first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This was quite the step forward for both WWE and the women’s division, which hasn’t had Tag Team Champions in about thirty years. With the new titles come a new detail though, which is quite the change of pace. This week on Monday Night Raw, Banks and Bayley made their first comments as champions and mentioned that they would be defending the titles on Monday Night Raw, SmackDown Live and NXT. This is the first mention of NXT being a possible destination for the titles, as only the main roster shows have been mentioned so far. There is no word on when the first title defense will take place. The champs talk and get challenged. Check out the new champs’ first comments and see who is coming for the belts: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is kind of a nice surprise, though I’m no..

Is Charlotte Flair the Roman Reigns of WWE’s Women’s Division?

Becky Lynch’s recent heel turn against Charlotte Flair in WWE continues to be the talk of pro wrestling fans. Many believe the turn is ill-advised and puts Lynch in a bad spot for her character. Others feel that Becky had to change at some point and at least she’s in the world title picture again. But both sides can surely agree that once again WWE is taking a very familiar direction that typically leads to nothing but confusion. Fans have seen this move many times in the past and more often than not, it just doesn’t work out. Whatever the reasoning behind the heel turn was or despite what the destination is, the fact is that Charlotte is now becoming the Roman Reigns of the women’s division. With any luck, this is not what WWE wanted. It’s impossible to know, mostly because Roman’s direction is the same today as it was when fans began hating him three years ago. The company has had ample time to alter course and do something different yet that’s not happened. Reigns continues to rece..
