Monday Night Raw Date: March 13, 2023 Location: Amica Mutual Pavilion, Providence, Rhode Island Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We have six major TV shows left before Wrestlemania and there is still some work to do. Most of the matches and stories are already set but there are a least a few things that need to be finalized. There is a good chance that some of those will be covered, or at least addressed, tonight so let’s get to it. Here is Edge to get things going. He loves that kind of reaction from the crowd but wants to get straight to the point. Edge calls out Finn Balor so here is the full Judgment Day. Edge says that Balor’s request for a Wrestlemania match is on, which Balor appreciates. With that out of the way, Edge recaps the feud and says he doesn’t have time to deal with all of these people anymore. That’s why at Wrestlemania, he wants Hell in a Cell. Balor says Hell couldn’t handle his demons so they’re on for Wrestlemania. Judgment Day storms the ring and the..

They’re still a thing. Nine months ago, Naomi and Mercedes Mone (then Sasha Banks) walked out on WWE on the same night, vacating their Women’s Tag Team Titles in the process. Maybe Later: How WWE Nixed Plans To Bring Back Finn Balor’s Demon

That would have been different. One of the most complicated aspects of wrestling is to make sure that the most important material is used at the right time. A promotion has to build things up over time and then pay it off when everything is ready. WWE is no exception, and now we know that they hit the brakes instead of letting someone make a special return. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Swap: Trish Stratus Reportedly At Monday Night Raw, Not Used As Planned According to Fightful Select, WWE had originally planned to bring back Finn Balor’s Demon persona at the Royal Rumble. The Demon would have fought Edge, possibly inside Hell In A Cell. However, due to Edge’s filming schedule, WWE went with the mixed tag instead. In addition, some people who were asked about the plans were unsure if the Demon would fit in with the current version of Balor. There is no word on if the Demon will return anytime soon. In case you forgot. Check out what the Demon is all about: [This post contains video, clic..

WATCH: Jade Cargill Shows Off Her Workout Routine On The Sherri Show

She would know. Wrestlers have to do a lot of things to stay at the top of their game and one of the most important is staying in shape. That can be easier said than done as they have to be on the road so often, which can make it difficult to stay in shape. There are certain ways to make it easier though and a top AEW star was explaining some of those things things week. AEW TBS Champion jade Cargill appeared on the Sherri Show and discussed a variety of workout tips while demonstrating some of her fitness regimen. Cargill also mentioned being the first African-American woman to be on the cover of a video game and that she was still undefeated. Cargill is the inaugural and still only TBS Champion, having won the title on January 5, 2022. There’s something to be learned here. Check out Cargill’s appearance on the show: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those things that might not seem like much but it is part of a bigger deal. AEW Holds Another Backstage Meeting Before Grand Slam

This one was different. To say that AEW has been going through some things in recent weeks would be an understatement. The company has been dealing with some major issues, with the biggest being the backstage issues. Such a problem needs to be dealt with and now AEW seems to be coming out the other side with the situation, as might have been demonstrated this week. According to Fightful Select, AEW held another talent meeting before this week’s Dynamite Grand Slam special. AEW has held similar meetings in recent weeks but this one was said to be much more laid back and more of a pep talk before a major show. A veteran said that the locker room has been better over the last three weeks than it has been in a long time, with a source saying that it was “addition by subtraction”. Opinion: This has been one of the weirdest and most tumultuous times that AEW has ever seen and it is good to see that things are finally starting to calm down. AEW is in a weird place at the moment and thankful..

Bray Wyatt Posts Cryptic Message On His Feelings About Wrestling

The Eater of Worlds has spoken. Earlier today, bray Wyatt posted a cryptic message on his Twitter account where he addressed his thoughts about professional wrestling. He talks about what he believes wrestling is and why it is important to its fans and to the public in general. Wyatt had the following to say: “Wrestling is not a love story; it’s a Fairy Tale for masochists. A comedy for people who criticize punchlines. A fantasy most can’t understand, a spectacle no one can deny. Lines are blurred. Heroes are villains. Budgets are cut. Business is business. But it can also be a land where Dead men walk. Where Honor makes you Elite. Where Demons run for office. And Rock bottom is a reason to rejoice. WOOOOO! It’s an escape. A reason to point the blame at anyone but yourself for 2-3 hours. An excuse to be a kid again, and nothing matters except the moment we are in. Wrestling is not a love story; it’s much more. It’s hope. And in a world surrounded in hate, greed, and violence, a wor..

WATCH: Sasha Banks vs. Asuka From SummerSlam 2020

Sometimes friends aren’t that helpful. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The Legit Boss had a leg up from the opening bell, targeting Asuka’s knee that Bayley focused on in their earlier matchup. Banks looked set to cruise to an easy victory after hitting an incredible flipping powerbomb to the outside from the apron, dropping The Empress of Tomorrow with a sickening thud. But Asuka turned the tables, demonstrating her resolve with a top-rope missile dropkick despite her injured knee. Suddenly desperate and defensive, Banks pleaded with Bayley at ringside for reassurance. But Bayley was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and she moved out of the way to avoid the same hip attack that Asuka hit Banks within Bayley’s title defense earlier in the e..

The Undertaker Will Officially Enter The WWE Hall of Fame

His legacy will never rest in peace. WWE has announced that The Undertaker will officially be inducted into the Hall of Fame as the inaugural member of the class of 2022. A multi-time WWE and World Heavyweight Champion, a seven-time tag team titleholder, and a Royal Rumble Match winner in 2007, Undertaker has cemented his place among the greatest in the game. A true in-ring pioneer, he was part of many WWE firsts, including the first-ever Casket Match at Survivor Series 1992, the first-ever Buried Alive Match in 1996, and the inaugural Hell in a Cell Match in 1997. But there was one achievement that stood out above all others that is unlikely to ever be topped. Since WrestleMania VII in 1991, The Undertake..

Update on Finn Balor, Reason For Not Appearing In The Royal Rumble

That would explain it. One of the more surprising absences from the 2022 Royal Rumble was Finn Balor, who did not appear on the show at all. What was the reason for this? According to a report from WrestleVotes, Balor is not injured in any way, he is still out of the country. WWE expects him back to action in plenty of time for WrestleMania. Confirmed with a source that Finn Balor is not injured in anyway, he is out of the country however. WWE expects him back in plenty of time for WrestleMania. — WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) January 30, 2022 Balor’s most recent major Feud was with Roman Reigns in September 2021, where he challenged The Head of the Table for the Universal Championship at the Extreme Rules premium live event. Even as his alter ego, ‘The Demon’, Balor still came up on the losing end. “The Prince” has not been seen on WWE programming since December 20 of last year. It is unknown what his plans for this year’s WrestleMania are. Editor’s Opinion: The longer that I se..

Moxley gets in the ring and, after telling a fan “Go f*** yourself, get that piece of s*** out of here” (completely uncensored on the broadcast), Moxley talks about having a dream where a demon told him he would never make it. We open with a recap of Roman Reigns retaining the Universal Title over Brock Lesnar, albeit with an assist from the Usos and a title belt shot. Here are Reigns and Paul Heyman for a chat to get things going. Reigns isn’t happy with Heyman, as he doesn’t get why the title was thrown into the middle of the ring last night. Reigns: “Shall we work on this?” He demonstrates how to put the title in his hand and says that Heyman isn’t good as his job. We hear Reigns’ various monikers, including the greatest Universal Champion of all time. Rei..

WWE Extreme Rules Main Event Gets A New Stipulation

It’s about time. We are coming up on Extreme Rules but you might not know it based on what you have seen so far. One of the major ideas lacking from the show is anything extreme, as none of the announced matches have included anything in the way of stipulations. WWE might want to fix that, and now they have at least one of the bigger matches covered. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced that the Universal Championship match at Extreme Rules between Roman Reigns and Finn Balor will now be an Extreme Rules match. Balor will be wrestling the match in his Demon persona, following a loss to Reigns in a previous Universal Title shot. This is the only stipulation match announced for the card as of Monday night. There have been some hard hitting Extreme Rules matches over the years. Check out some of the better ones: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of change ..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – September 17, 2021

Smackdown Date: September 17, 2021 Location: Thompson-Boling Arena, Knoxville, Tennessee Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee It’s almost time for Extreme Rules hold the extreme. So far we have nothing extreme whatsoever about the show and that is going to make for a weird card. I can imagine some matches being adjusted, though WWE is the kind of place where the show being named one thing and not having any of is not out of the question. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Seth Rollins beating and injuring Edge last week, with Michael Cole doing a voiceover to explain what happened. Here is the Bloodline to get things going. We see a clip of Brock Lesnar returning last week and issuing the challenge to Roman Reigns. Then the Demon showed up because he is going to be facing Reigns at Extreme Rules. Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar Confirmed For Crown Jewel 2021

The Tribal Chief vs. The Beast. WWE has confirmed that the long-awaited showdown between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will take place at Crown Jewel 2021. As of now, it is for the Universal Championship, but that could change following the events of the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view. Lesnar made his return to Smackdown this past week: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: At SummerSlam, Reigns overcame 16-time World Champion John Cena in a hard-fought matchup, only to be surprised by the sudden reemergence of The Beast. Lesnar subsequently returned to SmackDown where he ordered his one-time Advocate Paul Heyman, turned Special Counsel to Reigns, to accept his challenge for a match against the dominant titleholder. Following Lesnar’s scuffle with The Bloodline, The Head of the Table indeed accepted the challenge from The Conqueror, only to be greeted by The Demon, which reminded the WWE Universe that there is already an explosive Universal Title Match estab..

VIDEO: Top Stars In Action Before And After WWE SmackDown

It was a busy show. This week’s edition of SmackDown was a special show as the event took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. While that is a big deal on its own, the fact that it was taking place twenty years minus one day after the September 11 attacks made things feel even bigger. WWE was going to bring out the big names for this one and they did that during the show. It turns out that they did it before and after the show as well. WWE held a dark match both before and after this week’s SmackDown aired live, along with a segment after the show went off the air. Before the show aired, Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte faced Rhea Ripley. There is nothing to suggest that the Monday Night Raw roster will begin touring with the SmackDown roster as this was likely a special event only for the big show. Immediately after the show went off the air, Happy Corbin appeared to confront the Demon, who had been in the ring to end SmackDown. The Demon attacked Balor on the floor and la..

VIDEO: Roman Reigns Has Two New Challengers (And He Might Be In Trouble)

He’s in. Back in August 2020, Roman Reigns made a surprise return to WWE television. Reigns immediately aligned himself with Paul Heyman and won the Universal Title, which he has held for over a year. Since then, Reigns has cleared out the SmackDown main event division and he needs challengers. He got two of them this week, though he didn’t quite see one of them coming. This week’s SmackDown featured a special appearance by Brock Lesnar to confront Reigns. Lesnar issued a challenge to Reigns for the Universal Title, giving Reigns until the end of the show to decide. By the end of the night, Reigns did accept Lesnar’s challenge, though there was no date given for the match. The only thing Reigns said is that it would be after he got rid of Finn Balor, which is where things got more complicated. As soon as Reigns made the announcement, Balor came to the ring to confront him, though this time it was as his alter ego, the Demon. This would mean that the Demon will be challenging Reigns f..

WWE Adds Main Event Title Match To Extreme Rules

We have another match. WWE will present Extreme Rules in less than three weeks and that means it is time to really get the card in gear. There are all kinds of things that still need to be set up for the show and that can make things a little more complicated in a hurry. WWE has already set up some of the matches for the show and now they have checked off another big box. WWE has announced that Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title against Finn Balor at Extreme Rules. This comes after Reigns successfully defended the title against Balor last week on SmackDown, albeit with the help of a low blow. Following the match, the start of Balor’s Demon theme played as well, hinting at the return of the Demon. WWE has not mentioned the Demon whatsoever. This could be awesome. Check out how we got here plus what might be waiting on Reigns: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: ..

WWE Might Have Dropped A Hint For A Very Special Return At Extreme Rules

It’s a special moment. There are certain wrestlers who have an upgraded version of themselves that they do not bring out very often. When you know they are going to show up though, you can tell that things are about to get a lot more serious in a hurry. That very well might be the case again, and we could be in for something rather special at an upcoming WWE event. This week’s SmackDown ended with Roman Reigns successfully defending the Universal Title against Finn Balor, although the Usos attacked Balor before the match. After the match ended, Reigns went to leave but a red light flashed in the arena for a second. According to Wrestlinginc.com, this may be an indication of the return of Balor’s alter ego, the Demon, for a rematch at Extreme Rules later this month. The rematch has not yet been announced. This could get big. Check out what happened this week, plus what might be coming for Reigns: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..
