AEW Bringing Back Another Infamous Match

That’s one way to go. Wrestling is in a situation that it has never approached in the modern era. Thanks to the spread of the Coronavirus wiping out live attendance for wrestling shows, promotions are being forced to think outside of the box and see what they can do to come up with some kind of an alternative. That seems to be the case in AEW and they might have a huge idea planned. While both WWE and AEW are filming marathon taping sessions of shows to cover themselves for the next several weeks, they are also going to different locations to film content. This was on display Saturday at WrestleMania 36 with the Boneyard Match, which had a lot of people flashing back to another on location match. Now, we might be seeing something closer to the original. During this week’s AEW Dynamite, Matt Hardy challenged Chris Jericho to face him at the Hardy Compound in an Elite Deletion match. This would seem to be something in the same vein as the Final Deletion match from Impact Wrestling. AEW..

WrestleMania Boneyard Match Receives Critical Acclaim From Wrestling Community

I’d say they’ve earned it. This year’s WrestleMania is not going to be like any other that has ever been seen. The show is taking place in front of no fans and is being split into two nights, meaning that everything is upside down compared to what we are usually seeing. There is still wrestling though, with Night One featuring something that was just as different as the rest of the show. As it turns out, it did rather well indeed. The first night of WrestleMania 36 was headlined by the Boneyard match between AJ Styles and Undertaker. The rules of the match were not exactly clear on the way to WrestleMania so no one was sure what to expect. As it turns out, the match was more of a mini movie than a match, similar to Matt Hardy’s Final Deletion matches. The match seemed to have been well received though and a lot of wrestlers have something to say about it. Following the match, several wrestlers commented positively on the match with many of them outright praising what Undertaker and S..

Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt Respond To The Rumors Of Wyatt Turning On Hardy And Becoming The Leader Of 'SAnitY'

The "Woken" bond soon to be "Broken"? Dating back to late 2017 Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy have been feuding with one another and Bray Wyatt is the man responsible for bringing the unforsaken vessel of Matt Hardy out to the WWE Universe. When the two unusual characters went to war in the 'Ultimate Deletion' match on the March 19th edition of RAW, they tried to take one another out but ultimately "The Eater Of Worlds" was "deleted" and tossed into the 'Lake Of Reincarnation' by one Matthew Hardy. Aside from live events Bray Wyatt would not be seen on WWE programming until WrestleMania 34 where he played a major role in Matt Hardy becoming the winner of the 'Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal'. A DELIGHTFUL assist from @WWEBrayWyatt makes #WOKEN @MATTHARDYBRAND the 2018 #AndreTheGiant Memorial Battle Royal winner! pic.twitter.com/lFqCzGvBKw — WWE WrestleMania (@WrestleMania) April 8, 2018 On post-WrestleMania edition of RAW it was clear that Bray Wyatt&#..

Official “Monday Night Raw” Preview – March 26, 2018

It’s almost here. With two weeks to go before “Wrestlemania XXXIV”, we only have two episodes of “Monday Night Raw” to go as well. WWE.com has released its official preview for this week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw”. This week’s preview is a little big bigger with seven stories previewed rather than the usual five or six. Updates Following the ‘Ultimate Deletion’ Match, Could There Be Another?

‘Woken’ Matt Hardy wowed fans, as Twitter blew up in positivity following the ‘Ultimate Deletion’ match on ‘Raw’ this week. With everything that accomplished, could we see another ‘Ultimate Deletion’ on WWE TV? On Twitter itself, the hashtag for the ‘Ultimate Deletion’ was trending over two hours, as Hardy mentioned himself. It had a mixed-to-positive reaction overall. Make that well OVAH 2 hours that #UltimateDELETION has been the #1 WORLDWIDE TREND… WONDERFUL! pic.twitter.com/mBBUkLnICp — #WOKEN Matt Hardy (@MATTHARDYBRAND) March 20, 2018 As we previously reported, while fans at home were watching the segment, Braun Strowman, Elias and Kane had a segment for the live audience instead. There was also an appearance by Ronda Rousey, who got physical against Titus Worldwide statistician Dana Brooke. So what if those viewers want to see Hardy take on Wyatt in the Ultimate Deletion at home? Well, if Cageside Seats are correct… they may not be able to. If you didn’t watch the live ver..

How Did Ultimate Deletion Do within the Ratings?

Not quite WONDERFUL! We’re firmly on the Road to Wrestlemania and that means each show is getting more and more important. Things are starting to get set up for the show and that means everything needs to be handled with care. That included last night’s “Monday Night Raw”, which featured the Ultimate Deletion. It was very different, but how many people were interested? Miss last night’s show? Here are some quick highlights: [This post contains video, click to play] According to 411mania.com, this week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw” drew a 1.16 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.324 million viewers. The rating is the same as last week’s and down less than one percent from last week’s 3.352 million viewers. Aside from the Ultimate Deletion, the other major story was an update on John Cena challenging the Undertaker. Here are last night’s results. Opinion: All in all, this isn’t bad. The Ultimate Deletion was a big draw and it’s nice to see that it was almost the same level of..

Who Was Deleted in Ultimate Deletion?

Hopefully he doesn’t fade away. Last year at “Wrestlemania XXXIII”, the Hardys made their return to WWE for the first time in several years. The most asked question was what would be happening with the Broken Universe. After a long delay, the characters debuted a few months back, and tonight it was the grand culmination with the Ultimate Deletion. So who was deleted? And so it begins. [This post contains video, click to play] In the match tonight, Matt Hardy defeated Bray Wyatt with a Twist of Fate after a distraction from Jeff Hardy, who made a very brief cameo. After the match, Wyatt was shoved into the Lake of Reincarnation but disappeared. With no body to be found, Matt declared that Wyatt had been deleted. You can read tonight’s full results right here. Opinion: This went about as well as you could have asked it to. The wrestling wasn’t the point as everything was about the violence and insanity. It wasn’t quite as over the top as the Impact Wrestling versions but that has..

Update on Jeff Hardy’s Return From Injury

That doesn’t sound like fading away to me. At the moment, Matt Hardy is rolling with the Broken Universe in WWE. The character has found new life with a bigger budget of the idea founded in Impact Wrestling, but there’s a piece missing. Jeff Hardy has been out since September but that might not be the case much longer. Maybe the return can match this one. [This post contains video, click to play] According to a new report from PWINsider.com, Jeff may be returning to the ring sooner rather than later. In recent weeks, Jeff has been training at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. He has finished physical therapy but may have to deal with legal issues from his recent DWI arrest. Jeff appeared in Ultimate Deletion on this week’s “Monday Night Raw”, though it was filmed before his arrest. Opinion: I hope he’s back in a hurry as there are several ways he could go. Whether it’s the Broken Universe or a singles run away from his brother, Jeff seems to have one more run left in h..

Watch: “Woken” Matt Hardy Consults With George Washington

Who wouldn’t want to talk to a dead president? WWE has posted a new video to their YouTube channel, in which “Woken” Matt Hardy talks to the first President of the United States, George Washington. He has, however, taken the modern form of a giraffe his Hardy’s Personal Zoo. You can see the clip below: [This post contains video, click to play] Hardy is seeking counsel as he prepares for “The Ultimate Deletion” this coming Monday on “Raw.” In the video, after receiving advice from Mr. Washington, Hardy rewards him with a carrot or two. He then remarks that the giraffe loves carrots as much as the “Woken” one loves green beans. Editor’s Opinion: Have you had those moments in life where you simply say “you can’t make this stuff up?” This is not one of those moments. The “woken” character is so out there and so ridiculous, that it is absolutely brilliant. I cannot wait to see what WWE’s amazing video production team can do with “The Ultimate Deletion!” Are you looking forward to “T..

House Hardy Prepares for the Upcoming ‘Final Deletion’ Match on ‘Raw’ Next Week

As ‘Raw‘ and the ‘Final Deletion‘ match between Bray Wyatt and ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy draws closer, House Hardy is preparing for war. As shown on WWE television, Matt Hardy will be accompanied by Queen Rebecca, King Maxel, Lord Wolfgang, Senor Benjamin and Vanguard-1 as the ‘Woken’ family unite to take on ‘The Eater of Worlds.’ Lord Wolfgang taunted his older brother King Maxel on Twitter, claiming he had made his pro wrestling debut on ‘Raw’ while Maxel had to work his way up through the indies. I made my pro wrestling debut on WWE #RAW while my brother had to work his way up the indies. Wolfgang: 1 Maxel: 0 pic.twitter.com/blc4Hpf6Sm — Lord Wolfgang (@WolfieHardy) March 14, 2018 Maxel responded to his brother, teaching him he needs to pay his dues. The “Ultimate Deletion” To Take Place Next Week on “Raw”

It’s finally here. It was previously reported that “Woken” Matt Hardy challenged Bray Wyatt to a match that was referred to as “The Ultimate Deletion.” However, there has been much speculation as to when the match would take place. Those questions were answered tonight on “Raw,” as Hardy announced that the match would be taking place on next week’s show. You can see a clip of the initial invitation below: [This post contains video, click to play] Many of the characters from the “Broken” Gimmick will be making their WWE debut next week as a part of this special event. They include Queen Rebecca, King Maxel, Lord Wolfgang, Señor Benjamin and his drone, Vanguard 1. You can see a tweet with the promotional video below: The entire #WOKEN family has been assembled at the #HardyCompound…@MATTHARDYBRAND is ready to sentence @WWEBrayWyatt to his ULTIMATE DELETION! #RAW pic.twitter.com/CbxP6pxNNK — WWE (@WWE) March 13, 2018 Editor’s Opinion: YAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! Backstage News On the Plans For “The Ultimate Deletion”

It was previously reported that Matt Hardy has challenged Bray Wyatt to a match at the “Hardy Compound,” which is being referred to as “The Ultimate Deletion.” The challenge occurred on this past week’s episode of “Raw,” which you can see below: [This post contains video, click to play] According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan is for the match to occur on “Raw” as opposed to WrestleMania. The reason for that is because although the matches that were done at the Hardy Compound in TNA drew a lot of interest, the Hardys were the focal point of TNA at that time. This is not necessarily the case in WWE. In addition, if Jeff Hardy returns in time, there is talk of a match between The Hardys and Sheamus & Cesaro at WrestleMania for the “Raw” Tag Team titles. There are currently no plans for The Bar to have a match at WrestleMania. Editor’s Opinion: I could see this going both ways. While it could be tricky to have a pre-taped segment occur ..

John Morrison on WWE & Impact Copying Lucha Underground

<p>While speaking to the Buzzards Wrestling Podcast, former WWE Superstar John Morrison asked about WWE and Impact Wrestling copying <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/lucha/" title="Lucha">Lucha</a></strong> Underground’s filming <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/style/" title="style">style</a></strong> for matches like “House of Horrors” and “Total Non Stop Deletion.” Morrison responded:</p><p><em>“Totally <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/agree/" title="agree">agree</a></strong>. I feel like Lucha Underground was the first promotion that’s really integrated the gritty, action movie feel with wrestling. Shooting the vignettes that stitch Lucha Underground together, with coverage like a TV show or a movie has set that trend.</em></p><p><em>“You’re right, the Total Deletion and WWE House of Horrors and even some of the costumes in WWE. I feel the trends were started in Lucha Underground.”</em></p><p>You can check out the full interview <a href="https://www.sportskeeda.com/wwe/interview-former-wwe-superstar-john-morrison-on-a-potential-return-praise-for-the-miz-and-his-new-movie" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>

The Hardy Boyz Hint at Possible Singles Run In WWE

<p>While speaking with <a href="http://www.sportbible.com/other/exclusives-we-knew-theyd-come-a-delightful-interview-with-the-hardy-boyz-20170516" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">SPORTBible</a>, Matt and Jeff Hardy were asked about the possibilities of each of each of them having a singles run and/or feud.</p><p>Jeff responded, <em>“I think the brotherly feuding might be over, I don’t think people really want to see us fight each other but when you think back to the beauty of the Final Deletion, if ever something like that comes into play again then that’s the only way I see us doing something like that but it’s inevitable that we’ll go do our solo things before we’re done but right now it’s all about the tag teams.”</em></p><p>Matt explain why it was necessary to return as a tag team but that eventually he could see he and his brother doing their own thing.</p><p><em>“I think right now our goal, especially starting, coming back, being re-introduced to the WWE Universe after being away for a substantial amount of time, really was to be a tag team,”</em> Matt said.</p><p>He continued, <em>“I think down the road there will be potential for both of us doing our own things; we’re both strong singles personalities in many ways, and I think as performers we’ve grown as we’ve got older, we’ve got smarter.”</em></p><p><em>“Just for starters, if we get to where we need to be, I think ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/bray-wyatt" title="Bray Wyatt">Bray Wyatt</a></strong> would be an amazing deal, and you look at him [Jeff] – him vs <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/seth-rollins" title="Seth Rollins">Seth Rollins</a></strong>, him vs <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/finn-balor" title="Finn Balor">Finn Balor</a></strong>, either one of us vs Roman Reigns – there’s a lot of cool, interesting combinations of guys who became stars in the last five or six years that we’ve never worked against, it’s totally like a fresh slate. So there’s a lot of potential forces as singles competitors also.”</em></p>

Matt Hardy on Feud With Bray Wyatt — It Would Be Amazing!

<p>The Hardy Boys <a href="http://www.sportbible.com/other/exclusives-we-knew-theyd-come-a-delightful-interview-with-the-hardy-boyz-20170516" rel="nofollow" target="new">spoke with Sport Bible</a> for a new interview. Here are some highlights:</p><p><strong>Matt on seeing Vince McMahon for the first time after returning:</strong> “It was cool, it was very quick – the first time we saw him [Vince] physically face-to-face was in ‘Gorilla Position’ right before we went out and it was ‘Hey, good to have you home, hug, hug’ and then it was out to the ring to go and partake in a ladder match.”</p><p><strong>Their favorite TLC Match:</strong></p><p>Jeff: “I would say the spear [from Edge], Wrestlemania 17 because I had always wanted to hang from those things that held those titles and we finally got to do it. Just to see that come from my mind to reality was breathtaking, and for it to be so good, it’s one of the biggest things that stands out to me – that spear. I would say [it is] one of my craziest stunts for sure because that was a pretty long fall, but then the Swanton I did on Randy Orton years ago back in about 08 or 09, it was like 32 or 33 feet – that was pretty massive so that’s up there with the swantons but all the TLC matches I hold dearly and always will.”</p><p>Matt: “I liked the first tag team ladder match we had, the first TLC match we had in theory was the triple threat ladder match at Wrestlemania in 2000 – it was a great match, it was a spectacle but looking back because I’m older, there’s a lot of things that bother me from a psychology standpoint but we were just three young teams, it was our first Wrestlemania and we went out there and they said ‘Don’t worry about time, timing’s not an issue, we know you guys are doing a ton of crazy things, don’t rush’. We were literally given a spot on Wrestlemania and told not to worry about time – that doesn’t happen, that’s not a real deal. That match was great, it was a spectacle and one of my favourites. Summerslam that year it got a little better, I thought it was strong from a storytelling and psychology standpoint, and then I thought Wrestlemania 17 was even better – I thought it continued to improve and evolve as we got better.”</p><p><strong>Eventually working in singles competition:</strong></p><p>Jeff: “I think the brotherly feuding might be over, I don’t think people really want to see us fight each other but when you think back to the beauty of the Final Deletion, if ever something like that comes into play again then that’s the only way I see us doing something like that but it’s inevitable that we’ll go do our solo things before we’re done but right now it’s all about the tag teams.”</p><p>Matt: “Speaking from my perspective, I think right now our goal, especially starting, coming back, being reintroduced to the WWE universe after being away for a substantial amount of time, really was to be a tag team – we became famous for being a tag team. I think down the road there will be a potential for both of us doing our own things; we’re both strong singles personalities in many ways, and I think as performers we’ve grown as we’ve got older; we’ve got smarter. Just for starters, if we get to where we need to be, I think ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/bray-wyatt" title="Bray Wyatt">Bray Wyatt</a></strong> would be an amazing deal, and you look at him [Jeff] – him vs <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/seth-rollins" title="Seth Rollins">Seth Rollins</a></strong>, him vs <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/finn-balor" title="Finn Balor">Finn Balor</a></strong>, either one of us vs Roman Reigns – there’s a lot of cool, interesting combinations of guys who became stars in the last five or six years that we’ve never worked against, it’s totally like a fresh slate. So there’s a lot of potential forces as singles competitors also.”</p>
