More content is coming. This week on Dynamite, Tony Khan was scheduled to make a big announcement. That announcement was actually made by Adam Cole, in which he shared that a new AEW show was coming to TBS. Called “AEW: All Access”, the show will will follow some of the company’s biggest stars week-to-week as they seek to remain at the top of the company while also exploring rivalries between them. The show will also detail the lead up to major AEW events and pay-per-views. Cole also announced that the night that the show debuts, which will be sometime in March, he will also be making his return to in-ring competition. As usual with the big Raw milestone episodes, we’ll be seeing a bunch of legends for special appearances. In addition, there are two title matches and a cage match so the card is stacked. He’s back! At tonight’s Impact Wrestling Hard to Kill pay-per-view event, former WWE superstar Santino Marella made his debut in Impact Wrestling. Marella made his entrance after Moose used a low blow to defeat Joe Hendry and announced that he is now in the role of the Director of Authority. He then restarted the match, which led to Hendry getting the win and retaining the Digital Media Championship. That is some serious praise. There is no one in WWE on the level of Roman Reigns at the moment and that has been the case for a very long time now. Reigns has been the Universal Champion for nearly two and a half years and there is nothing to suggest that he will be losing the title anytime soon. It means a lot to be involved with Reigns at the moment, which means a lot for two current WWE stars. Having a wrestler using the wrong character or the wrong story can be a career damaging situation but there are solutions out there. There have been some very important developments and changes in the WWE’s women’s division in the last several years, with the Four Horsewomen being the focal point for a long time. The four of them have been huge stars in WWE since their debuts, but at some point they have to be replaced. Now a WWE boss seems to think something special about an upcoming star. According to WrestleVotes during an interview with GiveMeSport, WWE executive Triple H sees NXT’s Cora Jade as the next Sasha Banks. WWE sees her as having the talent, a unique look and being young at 21 years old. The company feels she has high potential, though there is no word on when she could be promoted to the main roster. There go two of them. Titles are the most important things in wrestling as they identify the biggest stars in any given promotion. Any fan understands the idea of a wrestler holding a shiny gold belt and holding it can mean a lot. It can also mean quite a bit when a title changes hands, which was the case this week, albeit in two rather different fashions entirely. Two titles changed hands this week on Impact Wrestling. First, Frankie Kazarian vacated the X-Division Title he won at Bound For Glory via Option C, earning himself a World Title shot against Josh Alexander. Later in the show, Honor No More’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett lost the Tag Team Titles to Heath and Rhino. This comes after Taven and Bennett made their AEW debuts last week on Rampage. They’re up next. AEW has built up a rather diverse and talented roster in its time. The company features a mixture of young, up and coming stars, current names and veterans, who have come together to create a mixture of matches and wrestlers. New names still need to be added though and that was the case again this week as three more names made their AEW debuts. The main event of this week’s AEW Rampage saw FTR and Shawn Spears defeat the Embassy in a six man tag match. Following the match, the Kingdom, comprised of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis, interrupted in their AEW debuts. The Kingdom and the Embassy then joined forces to attack FTR until Samoa Joe and Wardlow made the save. This comes less than a week after the Kingdom reportedly finished up with Impact Wrestling. Opinion: You can’t say that Tony Khan isn’t committed to the Ring Of Honor stuff as the brand seems to have landed even more stars. Meet the new ones. There are a lot of people down in NXT whose goal is to make it up to the main roster. That is the entire point of NXT as a developmental system, as the wrestlers are hoping to get to Monday Night Raw or SmackDown. It can mean a lot to get such a promotion, and now three wrestlers have, albeit with a surprise new addition to the ranks of their group. This week’s SmackDown featured Hit Row coming to the ring for a match, only to be jumped by the debuting Legado del Fantasma. The team, comprised of Santos Escobar, Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde, was missing Elektra Lopez, who was replaced by the returning Zelina Vega. The team beat down Hit Row and then introduced themselves to end the segment. Legado del Fantasma left NXT earlier this year, while Vega has been out of action with an injury since April. Opinion: The Legado promotion is long, long overdue and I’m not sure why it took so long to get them called up. Lopez being replaced by Vega makes a bit of sense, as V..
So she’s in. There have been some great debuts in AEW’s history and some of them have been names that fans have been seeing for years. That can make for some awesome moments, but it also leaves fans wondering what they are going to be seeing in the future. Now we know what the future seems to hold for a recently debuted star and it is a bit of a surprise. Last month at AEW Grand Slam, Saraya, better known as Paige during her time in WWE, made her debut for the company. This led to a question of whether or not she would be able to get physical, as she was forced to retire from the ring in 2018 due to a neck injury. This week on AEW Dynamite, Page got into a fight with Britt Baker before laying out Rebel with a superkick. While not confirmed, this would suggest that Saraya has been medically cleared. Next three up. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster, to the point where the company can split its wrestlers into three different rosters. While Monday Night Raw and SmackDown are the main roster shows, NXT is right there as a third option. However, NXT is the developmental territory and a promotion means a lot for a star. Shine them up real nice. Titles hold a special place in wrestling as any fan can understand the idea. Someone with a shiny belt is one of the most important wrestlers around or in this case, the reigning champion. That is something that has made sense in wrestling since its inception and it is still the case today. Now though we seem likely to be seeing some brand new titles. According to Fightful Select, WWE has at least three new sets of titles on the way and already in their possession. There is no word on which titles WWE will be changing or when the new belts will be unveiled.
