AEW Rampage Results – October 21, 2022

Rampage Date: October 21, 2022 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur We’re live this week and not taped after Dynamite for a change. We’re also back in the old stomping grounds of Jacksonville and the card happens to be stacked with three title matches in an hour. That should be enough to carry the show, though Rampage has a bad tendency to underwhelm. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Acclaimed vs. Varsity Athletes The Acclaimed is defending and it’s titles vs. the SCISSOR ME trademark. The Athletes tease an early scissoring and get jumped from behind, only to send the champs outside. Back in and the Acclaimed break up some more scissoring and a powerslam plants Woods. Caster gets knocked outside, where Billy Gunn chases Tony Nese around. That’s enough for a Gunn ejection, much to Sterling’s delight. We take a break and come back with Bowens getting the tag to come in and clean house. Everything breaks do..

Former WWE Referee Tim White Passes Away At Age 68

We have some sad news to report today as former WWE referee Tim White passed away at the age of 68. This is just one day after another former referee, David Hebner, died at age 73. From WWE.com: For more than two decades, Tim White was a dedicated WWE referee and official. He began his illustrious career in 1985 working with Andre the Giant and as a part-time referee. During his tenure, he was the referee for some of WWE’s biggest matches, including the infamous Hell in a Cell Match between Undertaker and Mankind at King of the Ring 1998. A shoulder injury effectively ended White’s in-ring career, but he still remained a major part of WWE, working behind the scenes as an official and talent agent until 2009. We at Wrestling Rumors extend our deepest condolences to the White family during this difficult time. “GET EXCLUSIVE UPDATES! REVIEW: AEW Double Or Nothing 2021: It’s A Stampede

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Double Or Nothing 2021 Date: May 30, 2021 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross, Excalibur We return to pay per view and that is a nice feeling to have. The card is absolutely stacked and one of the biggest that AEW has had in recent or even long term memory. Possibly the most important story here is the fact that the fans are back in full capacity, meaning it will be even more energized than usual. Let’s get to it. Buy-In Show: NWA Women’s Title: Riho vs. Serena De..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Monday Night Raw Said To Be Worse Than Ever Backstage

That’s a bad place to be. WWE has been on top of the wrestling world for a very long time now and that seems likely to be the case for the foreseeable future. That being said, there are still problems within the company that have to be addressed on a daily basis. Some of these are things that you will not see take place in front of the camera, which seems to be the case again with WWE’s flagship show. According to Ringsidenews.com, Monday Night Raw is said to be “the worst mess it’s ever been” behind the scenes. Vince McMahon is said to make decisions leading up to the show, tells Bruce Prichard, John Laurinaitis and Ed Koskey about them, and then the rest of the team finds out the day of the show. It was also noted that this situation could change at any time, as McMahon can often change how he makes decisions. Opinion: I can’t bring myself to be surprised by this as Monday Night Raw has turned into quite the mess most of the time. There are weeks when it seems like they have a plan..

REVIEW: AEW Dynamite – March 17, 2021 (St. Patrick’s Day Slam): The Big Fight

Dynamite Date: March 17, 2021 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone It’s time for the next special show as we have a St. Patrick’s Day special. This time around we have the fallout from last week’s big angle with the Inner Circle being laid out by MJF and his new group. Other than that, we have a major showdown with Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. MJF and company arrived at the airport earlier today. Penta El Zero M vs. Cody Rhodes During the intros, Penta (through a translator) promises to send Cody onto an early paternity leave. Penta jumps Cody during the entrances and we starts on the floor. Some kicks to the face and leg have Cody in more trouble and they head inside. Cody screams at Penta for chopping him and hits a release gordbuster. The Sling Blade gives Penta two and a Backstabber is good for the same. Penta starts going after Cody’s bad arm but he’s fine enough to send Penta out..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – March 2, 2022

Dynamite Date: March 2, 2022 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone This is an interesting show as we have both the go home show for Revolution but Tony Khan himself is also making a major announcement. That could go a lot of different ways and I’m curious to see what he has next. Other than that, we need the final push towards Sunday and we should be in for something good. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tony Schiavone is in the ring with Tony Khan for the big announcement. Khan talks about how far AEW has come in three years and how proud he is of everyone, including the fans. He has also been a fan of another company that started twenty years ago called Ring of Honor. That’s why he is proud to announce that as of today, he is officially the owner of Ring of Honor Wrestling. Two of the men in the first Ring of Honor main event are here in AEW and that’s our opening match. Bryan Danielson vs. Christopher Daniels Danielso..

REVIEW: AEW Revolution 2021: Uh, Boom?

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Revolution 2021 Date: March 7, 2021 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Jim Ross There is something rather pleasing about having another AEW pay per view. The company has such a great track record with these things and it should be awesome to see what they can do again. The main event is an exploding barbed wire deathmatch because….I have no idea why but it is certainly going to get them some attention. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Britt Baker/Rebel vs. Riho/Thund..

WWE Legend Signs New Contract With The Company

Welcome home. There are a lot of wrestlers throughout the history of the industry, but some of their names stand out over the others. That is certainly the case with some wrestling families, as certain families carry a lot of weight in the wrestling world. Sometimes you might not have known about them during their time in the ring, but the truth comes out later. Now things are coming a bit more full circle. According to the Daily Item (Sunbury, Pennsylvania), WWE Hall of Famer Samu has signed a new “nostalgia” contract with WWE. While not confirmed, this appears to be a Legends deal, meaning that WWE will produce Samu merchandise and have Samu make various appearances. Samu is part of the Anoa’i Family, best known for his time as part of the Wild Samoans. He is also the father of Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Opinion: This is something rather cool for Samu, who is indeed a legend in WWE’s history. He and Afa were one of the more dominant tag teams the company has ever had and it i..

Brock Lesnar “Attacks” Member of ‘Jackass’ Crew

The Beast doesn’t find it funny. Last night, at a dinner in St. Louis, Brock Lesnar had an encounter with ‘Jackass’ star Wee-Man and body-slammed him through a table. The video has made its way to the Internet, including on TMZ Sports. You can see one example of the video below: Brock Lesnar hanging out with The Jackass crew before Royal Rumble 2022 pic.twitter.com/CJ7lkYmyQk — WWE Hindi Daily (@tmykwoah) January 29, 2022 This appears to be a fun event and encounter, with no malicious intent involved. The dinner took place in St. Louis, which is the site of the 2022 Royal Rumble. Lesnar is scheduled to defend his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley, while ‘Jackass Forever’ star Johnny Knoxville is scheduled to be an entrant into the Men’s Royal Rumble match. Editor’s Opinion: I love stuff like this. Over the past few months, we have seen a different side of The Beast, as his more comical and laid-back side has started to be a part of his character. From the Cowboy Hat on Raw ..

How WWE Banned Everyone From Throwing Chops (Except One Wrestler)

It was a thing for them. You will hear all kinds of strange stories about WWE, and some of those stories involve WWE making up some rules that seem a little strange from the outside. WWE must have some kind of a reason for them, but that does not mean they make any sense to everyone involved. That was the case again back in the day and now a wrestler is explaining one of WWE’s bizarre decisions. Former WWE star Colin Delaney appeared on the Wrestlinginc Daily podcast and spoke about a time when WWE would not allow anyone to throw chops in a match except for Shawn Michaels. The announcement was made during a meeting but was removed about a month later, when Delaney had left the company. There is no word on why WWE put the rule in place or why they dropped it so soon. Delaney appeared for the company from December 2007 until August 15, 2008, when he was released from his contract. He has appeared on WWE television a few times since, often as an enhancement talent. Opinion: This is the ..

AEW Rampage Results – December 31, 2021

Rampage Date: December 31, 2021 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Ricky Starks It’s the very last show of the year for any company, as this one is going all the way to an hour before the New Year on the east coast. There is a fairly big card tonight with an anything goes women’s tag and Cody Rhodes defending the TNT Title. That doesn’t sound too bad so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Anthony Bowens vs. Darby Allin Max Caster’s rap is about the booster shot and putting people away like Ghislaine Maxwell. Allin starts fast with an early rollup for two, sending Bowens bailing to the floor in a hurry. Back in and Allin ducks a clothesline and dropkicks Bowens right back to the floor. We take a break and come back with Bowens catching a splash in the corner but Allin grabs some rollups for two each anyway. Allin heads up for the Coffin Drop but gets knocked down, with his arm landing pretty hard. A twisting DDT out of the corner gives Bowens..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – December 29, 2021

Dynamite Date: December 29, 2021 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We’ll wrap up another year of Dynamite with this one, in the place that hosted the show for what felt like the better part of ever. Cody Rhodes it the new TNT Champion, which hopefully is not just for the Go Big Show or Rhodes To The Top. Other than that, we also have the welcome return of Jim Ross, who has announced that he is cancer free. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jim Ross gets a big entrance for his return, which is a great thing to see. Jurassic Express/Christian Cage/Lucha Bros vs. FTR/Matt Hardy/Private Party Wheeler takes Christian into the corner for a clean break so we hit the double bicep pose. Christian works on the arm for a bit so it’s off to Harwood to trade chops with Jungle Boy in the corner. Harwood gets caught in the wrong corner and it’s Christian coming in for a kick to the face. The jump over the top into the uppercut has Ha..

Excellent News On Jim Ross’ Health Status

That’s some great news. There are a lot of people involved in the wrestling industry who never get in the ring. Just because they are not active wrestlers though, they still play a vital role in the product. That is the case with broadcasters, and now one of the most prominent of all time has announced some great news to the world regarding his recent health issues. AEW’s Jim Ross has announced that he is cancer free following a series of radiation treatments. Ross has been missing from AEW television since the middle of December due to twenty daily treatments, which have proven to be successful. Ross also announced that he will be returning to Dynamite this week. Taz had been filling in for Ross and mentioned that Ross would be returning during last week’s Dynamite. I’m CANCER FREE! We did it! See you tonight on #AEWDYNAMITE at 8 ET! ??? pic.twitter.com/4X9tmFtWTQ — Jim Ross (@JRsBBQ) December 29, 2021 This should be big. Check out what Ross has done in AEW so far: [This po..

Drew McIntyre On How Brock Lesnar Inspired His Dramatic Physical Change

It makes a difference. Wrestling is a lot of things, but ultimately it is a visual medium. The wrestlers have to come up with a way to make the fans stop what they are doing and look at what is in front of them. That is easier said than done, but there are certain tricks that work better than others. Wrestlers can make some changes to improve their appearance, which was the case for a certain top WWE star for a very specific reason. Drew McIntyre was recently interviewed by the Daily Record and spoke about the change in his appearance. McIntyre said that he didn’t believe someone who looked like he did could beat Brock Lesnar, so he began putting in the extra work to make it believable. This included training and adjusting his diet, with McIntyre saying the latter is the far more important of the two. McIntyre would defeat Lesnar to win the WWE Title in the main event of WrestleMania 36. McIntyre was on to something. Check out what he did with his new look: [This post contains video..
