WATCH: Bianca Belair Has Her Eye On Very Specific Film Role

She has goals. Wrestling and acting are often seen as going hand in hand despite only having a little bit to do with each other. However, there are some wrestlers who fit in rather nicely in the acting world and become quite the successes. Every wrestler turned actor has to start somewhere though and now a prominent wrestler has her eyes set on what would be a pretty big role. In a new interview with Comicbook.com, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair said she hopes to move into Hollywood and land the role as Storm in an X-Men movie. This is not the first time that Belair has said this, as she previously mentioned wanting the role in 2022. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that Marvel is considering Belair for the role, or that Storm will be portrayed in a movie anytime soon. There is a lot here. It’s an idea. Wrestlers have a weird connection with acting, as they often act in their roles as wrestlers but they are rarely seen as anything more than a wrestler in mainstream acting roles. That gives them a very niche role to fill but occasionally someone will break out with a different kind of appearance. One WWE legend has an idea about how another legend should be used. September 17 was the annual Batman Day, which prompted several discussions related to the franchise. WWE got involved by sending out a tweet asking which WWE Superstar should play Batman. WATCH: Darby Allin Attacked By House Of Black At San Diego Comic Con

They’re making this a habit. AEW has a lot of wrestlers but a rather limited amount of television time. The company only had three hours a week between Dynamite and Rampage, which doesn’t leave much time for everyone to get out there. It can be smart to mix it up a little bit and take things outside of the arena for some flavor, and that is what some wrestlers have been doing. Earlier this month, AEW ran an angle at an autograph signing where Brodie King attacked Darby Allin. They ran a similar angle this weekend, where the entire House Of Black attacked Allin during a panel at the San Diego Comic Con. King and Aleister Black both jumped Allin and laid him on a table. This comes after the two sides, with Sting backing Allin up, have faced off on recent editions of AEW TV. It was a different way to go. Yeowch: CM Punk Reveals New Details About Injury, Worse Than Previously Reported

That doesn’t sound good. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to get hurt and some of them can be rather serious. Some of the injuries are things that take place instantly during the course of a match while others are things that build up over time. Then there are the fluke injuries when a wrestler isn’t even active in the ring. One of the top stars in wrestling today is dealing with a combination of both and it was a little more serious than we thought. According to PWInsider.com, AEW World Champion CM Punk appeared at the AEW panel at the San Diego Comic Con and addressed his current foot injury. Punk revealed that his foot was “shattered” on June 2 and he is having to learn how to walk again. Punk was also said to be icing his foot and wearing a walking boot at the convention. KB’s Review: It Makes Summerslam Sense

Last fall, the family went down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (I didn’t have much of a choice so spare me the “why there” questions) for a vacation. It wasn’t my thing, but at one point I did head out and find a bookstore to pass some time. The store was adjacent to a local mall where I thought they might sell playing cards (one of my other passions, with a current collection of 923 decks (27 wrestling) and counting). Inside the mall I found….very little, as the place was mostly dead. One thing I did find though was an old school arcade inside a comic book store, with a ton of arcade cabinets and a row of pinball machines, including the old WWF Royal Rumble game. Each play was a quarter each so I ran through at least five bucks and had one of the best days of the entire trip there on my own. So what does this have to do with wrestling? Heck if I know, but what does pinball have to do with Summerslam? That’s something that has been bothering me about the build to this year’s Summer..

WWE Legend Releasing His Own Comic Book

It’s a unique honor. Wrestlers exist in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status. They are on television almost every week, but even then they are only known as wrestlers. That is not something that lends itself to mainstream exposure, but every now and then you see someone make it over the hill and into the next stage. Sometimes that can come with some unique opportunities and that seems to be the case again. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has announced that he will be starring in his own comic book. The book, titles Kishi and the Island of Dreams, will be released at some point in summer 2022. Rikishi will have a say in the creative direction of the story though he will not be writing it. That’s sounding serious. WWE and AEW get most of the attention in the wrestling world but there are all kinds of other promotions out there, many of which have a lot to offer. According to PWInsider.com, former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman met with Impact Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore over the weekend. The two met at a hotel bar in Detroit, where the Motor City Comic Con was being held. A lot of this has been due to the arrival of new company President Nick Khan, who has negotiated a series of lucrative deals for the company. These things have been rather successful so far and that is going to get Khan more good will. It turns out that he is going to be getting quite a few more responsibilities. According to PWInsider.com, Khan is being given even more authority and goals in the company. The idea is to move WWE into more of a mainstream property in the same vein as Marvel or DC Comics. It’s Kind Of A Perfect Fit. John Cena Up For Role In Major Superhero Movie.

How has this not happened yet? John Cena is one of the biggest stars in the history of WWE and professional wrestling in general. He is now starting to follow in the footsteps of fellow superstar the Rock, who has taken over Hollywood. While Cena is far from that level of mainstream stardom, he might be in line for a spot in a movie that could boost his profile in a big way. According to Variety.com, Cena is up for a yet to be determined role in the upcoming Suicide Squad 2 film. The original movie was a huge box office success, grossing nearly $750 million in 2016. Cena would be joining returning star Margot Robbie and fellow newcomer Idris Elba, whose character has not yet been announced either. The movie, with or without Cena, will be released on August 6, 2021. Should he be in it, this would be Cena’s first role in a comic book movie. There Is A Chance. This Dream Match Could Still Take Place.

So you’re saying there’s a chance. The Monday Night Wars were one of the most exciting times in the history of professional wrestling. The battle between Monday Night Raw and Monday Nitro became a war among the fans over which company was better. That often meant a comparison of the rosters, with various dream matches being discussed. One of them never came to fruition, but it might not be dead just yet. Sting was a guest at the Liverpool Comic-Con earlier this month and was asked if he would ever come out of retirement. Sting said that he would, though the only possible way would be for a match against the Undertaker. He said that he was hoping for the match to happen during his run with the company in 2015 but the schedules just didn’t click. At the same time though, Sting says that he does not regret the match never happening. Sting officially retired in 2016 after wrestling a handful of matches for WWE. Roman Reigns Pulled From Upcoming Appearance

We’ll catch you next time. Back in October, Roman Reigns announced that he would be stepping away from WWE for the time being due to a recurrence of his leukemia. The move forced him to vacate the Universal Title and it wasn’t clear when Reigns would be returning to the company in any way. Reigns would be gone a long time, and now another appearance is off as well. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Reigns has been pulled from the ACE Comic Con in Phoenix, Arizona from January 11 – January 13, 2019. This would have been Reigns’ first official appearance on behalf of WWE since his announcement on October 22. At the moment, there is no word on when Reigns will be back on WWE TV, though it isn’t expected to be anytime soon. It’ll be great when he can come back and add to this. Ronda Rousey Has A Run In With NBA Star At San Diego Comic Con

When worlds collide. In case you somehow didn’t know, Ronda Rousey is a former UFC champion and was one of the most dominant fighters of all time. That kind of crossover star power doesn’t happen in wrestling very often but WWE knows how to capitalize on it when they’re given the chance. With the San Diego Comic Con taking place during this week, there was a good chance of having Rousey get some more attention. Rousey was at the Comic Con this year and interacted with various mainstream athletes. One such athlete was Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, who Rousey stared down with for a photo. The issue with this is the fact that Rousey stands about 5’7 and Embiid is nearly a foot and a half taller at 7’0. Therefore, Rousey needed a little help.
