Switcheroo: Former Longtime WWE Star Talks Changing Up His In Ring Style

It’s a change. There are all kinds of ways to present a wrestler and some of them work better than others. Occasionally a wrestler with a serious background might want to shake things up a bit and now an established veteran is going to be trying to do just that for himself. Bray Wyatt Posts Cryptic Message On His Feelings About Wrestling

The Eater of Worlds has spoken. Earlier today, bray Wyatt posted a cryptic message on his Twitter account where he addressed his thoughts about professional wrestling. He talks about what he believes wrestling is and why it is important to its fans and to the public in general. Wyatt had the following to say: “Wrestling is not a love story; it’s a Fairy Tale for masochists. A comedy for people who criticize punchlines. A fantasy most can’t understand, a spectacle no one can deny. Lines are blurred. Heroes are villains. Budgets are cut. Business is business. But it can also be a land where Dead men walk. Where Honor makes you Elite. Where Demons run for office. And Rock bottom is a reason to rejoice. WOOOOO! It’s an escape. A reason to point the blame at anyone but yourself for 2-3 hours. An excuse to be a kid again, and nothing matters except the moment we are in. Wrestling is not a love story; it’s much more. It’s hope. And in a world surrounded in hate, greed, and violence, a wor..

WATCH: Riddle Makes Appearance On The Tonight Show (Includes Onion Rings And Hockey)

It’s an appearance. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status. While they are certainly people known and seen on national television, they are mostly only known for what they do in the wrestling world. However, every now and then you will see them getting to do something else, which makes for some interesting moment. That was the case again this week. WWE’s Riddle appeared on the Tonight Show on Wednesday night, appearing in a segment called Audience Suggestion Box. A fan wanted to see what would happen when NBA Draft prospect Jalen Williams to shoot an onion ring like a hockey puck, with Riddle appearing as the goaltender. WWE stars have appeared on the Tonight Show on a somewhat regularly basis in various comedy segment.s This is what it is. Check out Riddle’s Tonight Show appearance: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those things that you get to see every now and then and it shows you just how big WWE has gotten. Hell In A Cell 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

This is one of WWE’s signature gimmick shows, but it also seems to be one where WWE is not that interested in promoting the thing. We have seven matches set for the show and three of them were added in the last six days. That doesn’t exactly give me a lot of confidence going into the show but maybe the work alone can pull it out. This certainly wouldn’t be the first time so let’s get to it. Ezekiel vs. Kevin Owens This has been something of a comedy feud as Owens continues to fall more than a bit short of that time a few months ago when he headlined WrestleMania with Steve Austin. Instead, he is now in the middle of the modern version of Bobby Heenan trying to unmask Giant Machine, which isn’t exactly the most compelling story. It is a story however, though I’m not sure how much longer it can last. I’ll take Ezekiel here, as there is little reason to have Owens win if the feud isn’t continuing. If WWE wants Ezekiel to mean something, he has to win his first big match, which would be ..

AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s time for another AEW pay per view and most of the time, that has been some very good news. AEW has a heck of a track record with pay per views, though things have been a bit weaker than usual in recent months. I don’t entirely know what that is going to mean for this show, but the card is absolutely huge with a staggering thirteen matches. Maybe they can make it work though so let’s get to it. Buy-In Show: Hookhausen vs. Mark Sterling/Tony Nese They aren’t starting with anything serious here as Hook and Danhausen are the latest comedy guys around here. There is a short form possibility to the two of them working together but I’d like to believe that Hook could mean a lot more than he is being given so far. Danhausen is one of the most unique guys around, and now he and Hook can do their thing here. That thing here would be winning, as Hookhausen has no reason to lose whatsoever. Hook can be the muscle for Danhausen as he does his wacky deal. That is all you need in something lik..

Mic Time: WWE Star Set For Standup Comedy Gig

That’s a different way to go. Wrestlers are very talented people but they do not always get to show what they can do out of the ring. That can make for some very entertaining moments and sometimes it can be as good if not better than what they do on a wrestling show. Another wrestling personality is trying his hand at something outside of the ring and it could be worth a look. NXT’s Malcolm Bivens has announced that he will be trying his hand at stand up comedy at The Stand Comedy Club in New York City on May 5. Bivens tweeted out a poster advertising the event, which features quotes from Kevin Owens and Shayna Baszler, though there is nothing to suggest that the two will also be appearing. Bivens captioned the photo saying “if you’ve been praying for my downfall, now’s your chance.” If you’ve been praying on my downfall, now’s your chance. That’s the first step. WrestleMania 38 takes place this weekend and that means the finishing touches should have already been made for the card. Whether WWE is ready or not, the show is in less than two days and the fans are already in Texas for the event. WWE needs to have everything ready, and now they have covered one of the biggest things they have left. WWE has released a video, officially revealing the WrestleMania 38 set. The video features WWE broadcasters Pat McAfee and Michael Cole, plus sports comedy team Dude Perfect. The set has a large WRESTLEMANIA logo in the middle in front of a large blue star. Just getting to see the whole thi..

VIDEO: WWE’s Funniest Moments Of 2021

I chuckled. Comedy in wrestling is one of the trickiest things to pull off, but when it works out, it can work out very well. WWE has a hit or miss history with comedy, but they do manage to find something that works every now and then. They do their thing more often than some promotions and now we are getting to see what WWE thinks is their best recent material. WWE has released a new video looking at the Top Ten Funniest Moments of 2021. The list includes a mixture of segments from television and pay per views with nothing from NXT. None of the segments actually take place during a scheduled match, though there is an entry during a 24/7 Title match. Paul Heyman appears on the list more times than anyone else. It’s a big list. One More Round: Former WWE Star Announces Retirement Tour

Hanging up the boots. Wrestlers have a weird situation when it comes to retirement. They can walk away at any time, but ultimately there is always the chance that they might come back into the ring. It isn’t like the mainstream sports where someone has to come back for a full season, meaning retirement can be hit or miss. Now another wrestler is getting ready for their final run. Nick Dinsmore, formerly known as Eugene, has announced that he will be taking part in his retirement tour over the course of 2022. Dinsmore is making himself available for matches, seminars and stand up comedy. No specific dates or matches have been announced as of yet. KB’s Review: Long Term Success

Wrestling can be a lot of things, ranging from action to athleticism to drama to comedy to suspense to romance and probably even more things that I’m forgetting. What it all boils down to though is telling a story, and that’s where the real interest comes from. The matches themselves really are secondary to the stories that are being told to make them interesting, and that is where we’re picking things up today. Last weekend, AEW held its latest great pay per view with Full Gear, which was headlined by Hangman Page finally ending Kenny Omega’s World Title reign after the better part of a year. These two have a very long and detailed history which goes all the way back to before AEW even came into existence. That is a lot of history and this particular story had all kinds of details included. The title change was the grand culmination, but is that the best way to go? One of the things that both AEW and its fans pride themselves on it its long term storytelling. The company goes out of..

Mick Foley Could Return To The Ring (In A Special Way)

One more match (kind of)? The Coronavirus has changed a lot of things in the wrestling world and that is going to continue to be the case for some time to come. While things have mainly been negative, there have been a few bright spots, including an increase in the popularity of cinematic matches. These matches offer some different ways to go in wrestling, and now we might be seeing another legend getting involved. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Mick Foley mentioned being able to do a cinematic match during a recent comedy show. This is the same thing that Foley has said before, meaning that not only does he still believe he is capable of having such a match, but also that he is interested. There is no word on if WWE has any interest in Foley returning for such a match. WWE has done some cinematic matches. Check out how some have gone, plus what Foley can do: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, cl..

Hilarious Story Of How Omos Cracked Up Undertaker, Triple H And Batista

That’s not what was planned. Wrestling is a rather complicated presentation, as you have a mixture of action, drama, comedy, suspense and more, all mixed together with an athletic presentation in front of a live crowd. That is not something that is going to happen anywhere else and it is incredible when it goes right. Sometimes though, it can be just as entertaining when it goes wrong, as was the case for a certain big star. In an interview with Brandom Walker, Raw Tag Team Champion Omos told a story about a rehearsal for WrestleMania 35 at the Performance Center. During the rehearsal, Omos stepped over the top rope and ripped the back of his pants, leaving himself exposed. Despite knowing this and not having any extra pants, Omos stayed at ringside, leaving Undertaker, Batista and Triple H in hysterics. Omos would make his main roster debut two years later in October 2020. Thankfully there is no video of this. Check out the full interview and some other funny WWE moments: [This pos..

Terry Funk’s Interesting Take On The Gobbledy Gooker

Not everything can be a hit. There are a lot of legends in wrestling and they are going to be treated differently because of the things they have done. Someone at that level has likely been around wrestling for a long time now and it would make sense to listen to what they have to say. Everyone is going to make a mistake now and then though, and a certain legend seems to have missed on one. During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer told a story of Terry Funk bringing up the Gobbledy Gooker in 1990. Funk said that Hector Guerrero was going to be a big star as the character, which Funk described as a chicken. The Gooker debuted at Survivor Series 1990 and only lasted a few months before being dropped. He has since made a handful of appearances as a comedy cameo. Funk might have missed on this one. Check out some of the Gooker’s time in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click..

Vince McMahon’s Surprising Saturday Night

That’s a random cameo. There are all kinds of people in the wrestling world but there is only one Vince McMahon. In addition to being the most powerful person in all of wrestling, McMahon is also one of the most unique, as there are all kinds of stories of McMahon that are almost hard to believe at times. One common trend is his work ethic, but he took a night off this weekend for a bit of a surprise reason. McMahon attended the Dave Chapelle & Friends comedy special at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut on Saturda. One of the comedians, Donnell Rawlings, posted a photo of himself with McMahon to Instagram, referring to McMahon as a legend. There is no word on if anyone from WWE was in attendance at the show with McMahon. McMahon’s most recent WWE appearance took place at WrestleMania 37 in April. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Donnell Rawlings show (@donnellrawlings) McMahon has done some rather odd things. Check out a few of his bigger moments: [This p..

NXT Holds A Talent Show (Singing Took Place)

Keep up those spirits! Things have been all over the place in wrestling over the last year and it can make things all the weirder for the wrestlers. At some point you are going to go a little nuts just sitting around at the same buildings every week instead of spending time out on the road as you have done for years. There are ways to make it better, and now WWE has tried one of the more interesting ones. According to Fightful Select, there was an NXT talent show put on by the company’s officials earlier this week. The idea was to boost morale on the roster, though attendance at the event was mandatory. The event was said to have gone over well, with things such as singing and stand up comedy included. There is no word on which wrestlers were involved in the event. There are some talented people in WWE. Check out a look at some things that might surprise you: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to p..

New WWE Writer Says She Was Not Required To Know Wrestling

It’s a blank slate. WWE is a bit different than the rest of the wrestling promotions in the world. The company has more resources and options available than any other, including the amount of television time that they have on hand. That means they are going to need something to fill in that time and now we are seeing some interesting details on how some of their television content is created. Newly signed WWE creative writer Kenice Mobley appeared on the June 6 edition of the Asian Not Asian podcast to talk about her signing with the company. Mobley was signed to WWE on June 3 and was not required to know anything about WWE. Instead, Mobley was hired due to her experience in film production and comedy writing. Mobley was only familiar with a handful of names and did not know if Bobby Lashley’s last name was Lashley or Ashley. Mobley is part of the Monday Night Raw team and it is not clear if she has officially started actively working or not. This is what Mobley is coming into. Check..

WWE Hall Of Famer Lands New Movie Role

Maybe it works for him. Wrestlers have a weird relationship when it comes to acting. Some of them take to it naturally, but a lot of the time it feels like you are watching a wrestler reading movie lines. Every now and then you see something that works out though and it can make for quite the success. We might be seeing that take place again with a certain wrestling legend. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will be appearing in the upcoming romantic comedy “Ask Me To Dance”. The movie is being filmed in Rochester, New York and will star Brana Evigan, Joyce DeWitt and Mario Cantone. There is no word on what role Angle will be playing in the film. Angle has dabbled in acting during and after his wrestling career, with his biggest role being as a mixed martial artist in Warrior. Angle has had some rather funny moments over the years.
