WRESTLING RUMORS: NXT Set To Change Title Belt Designs

An old look. Titles are some of the most important things in a wrestling promotion. A wrestler holding a title is one of the signs that the company has made an investment into them and it makes them feel like more important deals. The titles themselves are easy to identify as they are big shiny belts, but sometimes they need to be replaced. Now that is the case again, albeit with an old taste. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: BREAKING: Mandy Rose Released By WWE According to Belt Fan Dan on Twitter, NXT is planning on replacing their current collection of championship belts. The Boss is heading overseas. According to a report from PWInsider, Sasha Banks is expected to appear at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event next month. It is unknown in what capacity she will be used, if at all, during the show. Banks has not wrestled since she and Naomi walked out on WWE before the May 16 episode of Raw. Both women were upset about the creative direction of their characters, and were subsequently stripped of the Women’s Tag Team Championships. From the report: Back in October, Varnado teased the idea of wrestling former WWE star KAIRI in STARDOM, which shares the same corporate owner as NJPW and recently did a crossover event with NJPW. RUMOR: Tony Khan May Strip Women’s Championship From AEW Star; Thunder Rosa Reacts

When Thunder Rosa relinquished the AEW Women’s Championship back in August, the rumor mill went wild on her “injury status” and a bunch of other fabricated information. The title has been an Interim World Championship until her return on AEW television. Toni Storm claimed the belt and became the AEW Interim Women’s Champion at All Out in September. Everything has been going alright since then, but there’s a little bet of a booking issue. Storm is having a good reign, but it’s been a bit overshadowed by the return of Saraya and Britt Baker stealing the show. Related: MJF Talks WWE With Tony Khan After AEW Dynamite A lot of the issue is that the AEW fanbase doesn’t love the concept of “Interim Champions.” There’s a valid argument that it makes the company’s championships a little less valuable. The long term play always seemed to be Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa down the line. However, a new report shared AEW President Tony Khan’s thoughts on the potential decision to strip Thunder Rosa..

The Usos Make Major WWE History

Down since Day One. Tonight on Smackdown, The Usos successfully defended their Undisputed Tag Team Championships against the New Day. In doing so, they ensured that they would be making WWE history. This coming Monday, November 14, will mark their 484th day as champions. This means that they will officially become the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time. Jimmy and Jey Uso have held the Smackdown Tag Team Championships since July 18, 2021, when they defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the Money in the Bank premium live event. They would add the Raw Tag Team Championships on May 20 of this year, when they defeated Randy Orton and Matt Riddle (RK-Bro) on an episode of Smackdown. Editor’s Opinion: This is freaking awesome and also very expected. The Bloodline has been the best storyline in professional wrestling over the last several years, and the Usos have firmly established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Who knows where this rain could stop..

One More Down: WWE Appears To Officially Retire Championship

It was nice while it lasted. There have been a lot of titles over the years in Wwe and that is still the case to this day. The company has quite a few championships between its three main brands, some of which have some unique rules behind them. In a rare move though, WWE has gotten rid of one of the championships after it had not been used very often in recent months. This week on Monday Night Raw, Nikki Cross defeated Dana Brooke to become the new 24/7 Title, only to throw the title away later in the night. Now the WWE Superstars page is saying that the title’s history runs from 2019 – 2022 rather than “present”. While not confirmed, this would suggest that the title has been retired and will not be returning for the time being. Opinion: I don’t think this is the biggest surprise as the title was literally thrown away (or at least close to it, as Cross missed the trash can) a few days ago. The title has not exactly been active in recent months and it makes sense to just drop the th..

Championship Dropped In The Trash On Monday Night Raw, Possibly Finished

That’s it? There are a lot of titles under the WWE umbrella and some of them are among the most well known championships in all of wrestling. It means a lot for a wrestler to win one of them but it can also mean a lot for someone to lose it as well. This time though, someone seemed to have lost a title, though not in the traditional way. She might even be happy about it. This week on Monday Night Raw, Nikki Cross defeated Dana Brooke to become the new 24/7 Champion. Later in the night, Cross was seen walking backstage where she threw the title in the trash without saying anything. While not confirmed, this could suggest that the title is being dropped, possibly as a call back to the WWF Women’s Title being dropped in the trash on Monday Nitro in 1995. The title had been active since May 2019. Opinion: At the end of the day, the 24/7 Title has been around for about three and a half years but it has lost a lot of steam in recent months. The title is almost never seen on WWE TV and is r..
