Next Challenger Up: New Title Match Added To WWE Money In The Bank
Put it up. With less than two weeks to go before WWE Money in the Bank, it is time for WWE to start hammering down the rest of the card. There are not a ton of wrestlers free due to the ladder matches, but there are enough stories set up to make the show work. Now we have another match set up after several weeks of it being teased before being made official. This week on Monday Night Raw, a United States Title match was officially added to the Money in the Bank card, with Bobby Lashley earning a title shot against Theory. Lashley and Theory have attacked each other in recent weeks, with Theory saying that Lashley could have a title shot if he won a three man gauntlet match. Lashley went on to defeat Chad Gable, Otis and Theory himself, setting up the title match. Several New Names Announced For Royal Rumble
The field keeps getting stacked. The Royal Rumble is less than five days away and that means WWE has a lot of spots to fill in and not much time left to do it. There have been a lot of names set already but WWE likes to wait until the very last minute to make some announcements. That was the case again this week, as some more names were added to the fields. WWE has announced that seven more names have been added to the men’s Royal Rumble field. There It Goes Again: Title Change Takes Place On Monday Night Raw
History has been made! Titles are the main focal point of almost any wrestling company as they are such an easy concept to present. Wrestlers are going to go after championships for the sake of either money, pride or power, making them the most valuable prize in the promotion. That makes title changes mean so much, which was the case again this week when some gold changed hands. This week’s Monday Night Raw saw Alpha Academy defeating RKBro to win the Raw Tag Team Titles. The win came after Alpha Academy defeated RKBro in a non-title match last week to earn the title match. Alpha Academy’s win gives Otis his first title in WWE, while Chad Gable is now a three time Tag Team Champion on the main roster. Monday Night Raw Star Announces Very Special Accomplishment
That’s a heck of an accomplishment. Wrestlers have a lot of things to do in their industry, including several championships. Some of them are more prestigious than others, but it means something to be able to put a title belt around your waist. At the same time though, there are other accomplishments that mean even more and have nothing to do with wrestling. A WWE star achieved one of them this week. Monday Night Raw star Chad Gable has announced that he has graduated from Full Sail University with a Masters of Fine Arts with a focus on Media Design. Gable graduated with a 4.0 GPA as the valedictorian and earned the Advanced Achievement Award for student most likely to succeed in their field. During the Coronavirus pandemic, Gable felt that he wanted to use some of the resources available to him, including a partnership between WWE and Full Sail University. Not so fast. WWE has undergone all kinds of changes over the course of this year. The company has seen dozens of wrestlers released, which has shaken up the way the roster looks and works. There are still several wrestlers who could be released in the future, though now we know one name who will be sticking around, despite some rumors to the contrary. According to Fightful Select, Chad Gable’s WWE contract is not expiring anytime in the near future. This comes after AEW’s Dax Harwood said in May that he would see Gable soon, though this was little more than a joke. Two WWE Wrestlers Injured Friday Night
It can happen to anyone. Injuries are a horrible thing to see in wrestling as they can change a wrestler’s career in the blink of an eye. Some injuries are a lot worse than others but it is never a good thing to see a wrestler get injured in any way. Unfortunately there is no way around them, and there were a pair of them in a single night in a single company this week. Two WWE wrestlers were injured on Friday night. WWE has announced that Montez Ford suffered a partial rib fracture and torn cartilage due to an attack by Otis during SmackDown. Otis attacked Ford after interfering in a match between Ford and Chad Gable. This was not announced during SmackDown and may be a storyline to advance the Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy feud. The second feud took place on 205 Live, as Sunil Singh was injured during a match against Grayson Waller. The tournament, which has been held intermittently since the end of the annual competition in 2002, offers an instant upgrade for anyone who wins it, making the tournament a rather important accomplishment on almost any resume. With less than two weeks to go before WrestleMania 35, two of the matches that are in need of some more details are the battle royals, which could combine for nearly fifty names making it onto the show. While it’s interesting to see who is included in the field, the rosters can also show you what might not be taking place on the show, which may be the case here. WWE.com has revealed a list of twenty six more names for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, bringing the total number of entrants to twenty nine, along with the already entered Michael Che, Colin Jost and Braun Strowman. This would heavily suggest (though not guarantee) that these four will not be involved in a Tag Team Title match on the show. It had been previously reported that Jason Jordan underwent neck surgery back in February, and has been out of action since then. According to a report from PWInsider, Jordan is scheduled to be at this week’s Raw from Richmond, Virginia. It is unknown at this time if he will be used on camera, or is just going to be backstage. Jordan has been off of WWE Programming since the February 5 episode of Raw, when General Manager, and father, Kurt Angle, sent him home.
