There’s your new name. AEW has come a long way in just over three years of existence and a lot of its success comes from its roster. The company has more stars than it knows what to do with from around the world. As a result, the company is able to present a variety of matches with different kinds of stars and now they have a new international star to add to the list. AEW’s Forbidden Door pay per view includes a match between Zack Sabre Jr. and a mystery opponent. Sabre Jr.’s original opponent was scheduled to be Bryan Danielson, but an injury forced him from the match. Danielson hand picked an opponent in Claudio Castagnoli, better known as Cesaro, who defeated Sabre Jr. in the match. Castagnoli has since been announced as an official part of the AEW roster. It might be a bit. Even though WWE and AEW get most of the attention, there are a lot of wrestling promotions throughout the world. Just because a wrestler is not appearing for one of those promotions does not mean that they have no value, as there are several wrestlers who can work for multiple promotions at once. According to the report, Cesaro has been contacted by several promotions about coming in he has not accepted any bookings. It was a great run. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it can be difficult for someone to stand out. At the same time, there are always going to be wrestlers who catch the fans’ eyes, but for some reason they do not catch the eyes of the people running the company. It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them can be a lot more intense than others. One of the biggest problems with dealing with injuries is that they could take place at any time. That means a simple fluke accident could take someone out, and unfortunately that was the case again this weekend as a WWE star got banged up pretty badly. The WWE Day One Kickoff Show featured a tag team match between Sheamus/Ridge Holland vs. Cesaro/Ricochet. Early in the match, Ricochet attempted a 450 splash but his boot accidentally smashed Holland in the face. Holland suffered a broken nose and left the match without returning. There is no word on how long Holland will be out or what kind of treatment he may need. Sheamus went on to win the match for his team. We’ve got a new show this week and this time it is based around a new year. I’m not sure how interesting that is for a full pay per view, but WWE has set things up around flimsier premises before. The good thing is the card looks pretty solid and we could be in for a nice event. That is assuming the Coronavirus pandemic doesn’t wreck anything at the last minute. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Ricochet/Cesaro vs. Sheamus/Ridge Holland This was added earlier in the week and it sounds good on paper. The card grows. We are only a few days away from the end of the year and that means WWE is almost ready to air its next pay per view offering. In this case, it’s Day One, which will be taking place on the first day of the year. That means the card needs to be a strong one, and now we know how things are going to get going, with the first match of 2022 looking interesting. WWE has announced that Cesaro and Ricochet vs. Ridge Holland and Sheamus will serve as the Kickoff Show match for Day One. New Participant Set For Men’s Survivor Series Match

He’s up next. The Survivor Series has always been a tricky show to present as there are so many people involved in the show’s namesake matches. That does not leave you a lot of options for the rest of the show, but it can get even more confusing if changes have to be made. That was the case this year, and now we seem to have the official, final lineup for everything. Last week on SmackDown, Jeff Hardy defeated Sami Zayn in a match, resulting in Zayn being removed from the SmackDown men’s Survivor Series team. There was no replacement named, so this week’s show saw a four way match to determine the final team member. That could have been worse. There are certain things in wrestling that are universal for anyone who gets in the ring, with one of the worst being the potential to get hurt. No matter how talented or skilled a wrestler might be, there is always the chance that they could get hurt in the blink of an eye. That can be a scary time, but now we are getting some good news about someone for a change. Earlier this week, WWE announced that Finn Balor was injured and unable to appear in a scheduled match at a WWE live event in the United Kingdom. However, according to Fightful.com, Balor was back in the ring on Wednesday in Manchester, England. Balor opened the show in a tag team match, teaming with Cesaro to defeat Walter and Sheamus. Oh I Know You: WWE Changes Two Wrestlers’ Names

Who are you again? There are a lot of ways for a wrestler to get the fans’ attention but some of them are a bit simpler than others. One of the best is to have a name that is unique enough to make someone listen while also sounding like something that could be intimidating. That is a hard combination to pull off and now WWE is trying a different path with two of its wrestlers. WWE has changed the names of Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza to just Humberto and Angel, according to both of their WWE.com profiles. This follows WWE’s trend of dropping wrestlers’ first or last names, such as with Cesaro, Big E. and Ali. WWE Considered Bringing Back Surprising Stable

What could have been. There have been all kinds of stables over the years in wrestling and some of them have been rather popular in their days. Above all else, a stable can do well when there is a common theme between the members. Some of them are better than others, and the good ones are rarely rehashes of previous editions. WWE avoided making a similar mistake. During a recent Highspots interview, former WWE star Mojo Rawley revealed that WWE was considering a reformation of the League of Nations. The idea would have seen Rawley teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro while serving as the group’s mouthpiece. This concept never came to pass though and Rawley was paired with Rob Gronkowski for WrestleMania 36 instead. Hopefully it isn’t too bad. Just like in other sports, there are all kinds of injuries in wrestling. You never know when you are going to see someone go onto the injured list and miss some ring time. To make things even more complicated, there is always the chance that the injury is part of a storyline and not legitimate. It seems that the latter is the case this time. WWE announced an injury update to Cesaro during this week’s edition of Talking Smack. Cesaro is said to have suffered a cervical strain due to an attack at the hands of Seth Rollins during this week’s SmackDown. Three Names Added To Money In The Bank Ladder Matches, One Removed

Keep them coming. We are less than two weeks away from Money in the Bank and this year’s edition promises to be one of the biggest in the show’s history. As usual the show will be focused around the men’s and women’s namesake matches, both of which will feature eight wrestlers. That means a lot of spots need to be filled and now even more have been covered. Three more names were added to the Money in the Bank ladder matches this week on SmackDown, along with one being removed. In men’s qualifying matches, Seth Rollins defeated Cesaro and King Nakamura defeated Baron Corbin, making them the final two entrants into the ladder match. In addition, Liv Morgan was added to the women’s match to replace Carmella, who will be replacing Bayley in a SmackDown Women’s Title match against Bianca Belair. Earlier this week, WWE star Seth Rollins was photographed buying lemonade from a girl’s lemonade stand. The girl’s father posted the image to Facebook, saying that Rollins appeared at random to buy some lemonade.
