WRESTLING RUMORS: More Evidence WWE Is Teasing A Hurt Business Reunion

The important piece. There have been a lot of stables throughout WWE’s history but most of them follow a fairly standard formula. Most WWE stables are focused around one major star, with other smaller stars supporting them. Without the right balance, the stable is rarely going to work, meaning it has to be put together correctly. It seems a possibly returning stable is working to get the right centerpiece. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: International Incident: WWE Star Loses Title At Major International Event Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, a backstage segment showed MVP talking to former Hurt Business members Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. According to Wrestlingnews.co, MVP recently asked Adam Pearce (also in the segment with Benjamin and Alexander) about fellow Hurt Business member Bobby Lashley. There is no word on when or if the Hurt Business could reform. That could make for a heck of a team. Check out the Hurt Business in action: [This post contains video, click to pla..

LOOK: WWE Teases Popular Stable Reunion On Monday Night Raw

Reunion? There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it is difficult to find something for all of them to do. One of the best ways to deal with the problem is to group them together in stables. WWE has used them for years and that tradition continues to be the case to this day. It now seems that WWE is at least considering a reunion of a departed stable. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: And Done: Former WWE Champion Reportedly Now Free Agent, Can Wrestle Elsewhere This week on Monday Night Raw, Damage Ctrl was seen walking through the backstage area on their way to the ring. In the background of the scene were Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, who were talking with MVP and Adam Pearce. Benjamin and Alexander were formerly part of MVP’s Hurt Business stable, along with Bobby Lashley. The meeting was not acknowledged on the broadcast. https://twitter.com/ThomasNg27/status/1610109185299218434/photo/1 The team did well in their day. Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – May 16, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: May 16, 2022 Location: Scope Arena, Norfolk, Virginia Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re in for a big grudge match with Omos vs. Bobby Lashley inside a cage. This is the third match between the two of them after they split the first two, though I’m not sure if it’s the best idea with the Cell pay per view a few weeks away. Other than that, we will probably get another push towards the Usos vs. RKBro on Friday, which will totally be the big conclusive ending. Let’s get to it. We open with a long recap of Omos vs. Bobby Lashley. Here’s what’s coming on the rest of the show. Omos vs. Bobby Lashley Inside a cage with MVP in Omos’ corner. Before the match, MVP runs down the history and goes over the ways you can win the match (pinfall, submission, escape) before promising a lot of violence. Hold on though as Cedric Alexander jumps Lashley from behind in the aisle and the big brawl is on. We take a break and come back with the opening bell,..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 1, 2018: Feels Like It Was Just Four Years Ago

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: January 1, 2018 Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Booker T. It’s a new year (yes it is) and that probably doesn’t mean much. We’ll be getting ready for the Royal Rumble in less than a month and tonight that includes an appearance by Brock Lesnar. Other than that we have Roman Reigns defending the Intercontinental Title against Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander challenging Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Title. Let’s get to it. Alexa Bl..

Crown Jewel 2021 Live Coverage And Results

Crown Jewel 2021 Date: October 21, 2021 Location: Mohammed Abdu Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Commentators: Byron Saxton, Corey Graves, Michael Cole After a year and a half away, WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia and the show is actually looking huge. For the first time in a very long while, we are seeing what looks to be a massive show with a lot going on. The main event is Roman Reigns defending the Universal Title against Brock Lesnar and that should be enough to carry just about anything. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Usos vs. Shelton Benjamin/Cedric Alexander Non-title and the fans are WAY behind the Usos to start. Jey and Alexander start things off with Jey grabbing a belly to back suplex for two. It’s off to Shelton, who powers Jey into the corner and then hands it straight back to Alexander for a knee to the face. The arm work begins, including a shoulder breaker on Jey, setting up an armbar. A superplex sends Jey crashing down for two and it’s back to Alexander for a Tequila S..

WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

We are on the way to Crown Jewel and this time around that means we are going to be seeing quite the stacked card. There are some rather big matches set for the show and this time around, something might actually happen. For once it feels like a major show that just happens to be taking place in Saudi Arabia, which has certainly not been the case for most of the shows over there. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Usos vs. Cedric Alexander/Shelton Benjamin Are they still the Hurt Business? Anyway, this was added the day before the show as a way to give us something to get the crowd going. That should be enough to warm up the crowd, though you never know what this kind of crowd is going to be at these things. If nothing else, this is a way to have the Usos around for the main event, as Roman Reigns might need some bodies to throw at Brock Lesnar. These guys are good: [This post contains video, click to play] I’ll go with the Usos winning here, as they are one of the best WWE teams in a ..

New Match Added To WWE Crown Jewel

Get things started. We are coming up on WWE Crown Jewel and the card is mostly set. There are all kinds of matches on the show with a bunch of different things included. WWE has still been changing things even right before the show, with some matches being added this week on Monday Night Raw. Now we have one more match added to the card, or at least close to it. Now we have one more match added to the card, or at least close to it. WWE has announced that the Usos will face Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander on the Crown Jewel Kickoff Show in a non-title match. This will be an interpromotional match as Benjamin and Alexander are on Monday Night Raw while the Usos are the reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions. The Crown Jewel Kickoff Show begins at 11am EST on Peacock and the WWE Network. This should be a good one. Check out what both teams can do in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to..

New Grudge Match Set For WWE Crown Jewel

There’s your next one. We are less than two weeks away from WWE Crown Jewel, which will be the company’s next event from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The show will feature some rather high profile matches as WWE treats each event as one of their biggest of the year. That can make for some important moments, and now we know something else on the card. This week on Monday Night Raw, Mansoor and Mustafa Ali were defeated by Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. Following the match, Ali, who was pinned, shoved Mansoor away for trying to help him. Later in the show, Ali yelled at Mansoor and attacked him. After the show was over, WWE confirmed that the two will meet at Crown Jewel in Mansoor’s home country. https://twitter.com/WWE/status/1447770957167448065/photo/1 This should be a special one. Check out how we got here and Mansoor’s time in the ring in Saudi Arabia: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click..

More WWE Draft Picks From Raw Talk, Plus Remaining Free Agents

We aren’t done yet. The WWE Draft has come and gone for the year and it was certainly an eventful pair of nights. There were dozens of moves made with wrestlers jumping from show to show. At the same time though, there were some wrestlers who stayed on the shows they have been on for months now. It turns out that Monday Night Raw and SmackDown was not everything though, as we have some more picks. This week’s edition of Raw Talk included several more picks in the 2021 Draft. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown received additional picks, which were announced in a group rather than show by show. There were teams split up while one team did stay together as they moved. None of these picks had been made before the show aired. Here are the Raw Talk picks in no particular order: Monday Night Raw Dana Brooke Robert Roode Dolph Ziggler Jaxson Ryker Veer Liv Morgan Nox Tamina Mia Yim Shelton Benjamin Cedric Alexander Miz Smackdown Shotzi Natalya Jinder Mahal Shanky These names are in additi..

WWE Star Issues Bounty On Shelton Benjamin

You don’t hear about that very often. There are certainly angles that take place more than once in wrestling, but only after a long time has passed. That was the case with the bounty, as Harley Race offered thousands of dollars to anyone who would take out Ric Flair before Starrcade 1983. Triple H did the same thing with Goldberg in 2003, but now we are getting a slightly different version of the idea. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the return of the Hurt Business, as Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin rejoined Bobby Lashley. The reformed team attempted to cost Big E. the WWE Title but the New Day made the save. WWE star Mia Yim has tweeted about the situation, offering any member of the New Day $20 to take out Benjamin. New Day has yet to respond to the offer. The new day Vs hurt business…. I love it!!! Which one wanna take my $20 to take out Shelton?! @WWEBigE @AustinCreedWins @TrueKofi #WWERaw — The HBIC (@MiaYim) September 28, 2021 This is a different one. Check out a..

Run It Back: Stable Reforms On Monday Night Raw

Reunion special. Stables are one of the easiest ideas in wrestling because they allow wrestlers to get together and save a lot of time. There are some legendary stables over the years and some of them have been very successful. We have seen a bit of a renaissance of stables in recent years and now a recently split one seems to be primed for another crack at success. This week on Monday Night Raw, Bobby Lashley challenged Big E. for the WWE Title. Near the end of the match, Big E. speared Lashley through the ropes, where Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin appeared. The two were wearing Hurt Business shirts and nodded to Lashley, suggesting that the team was back together before the match ended in a disqualification. The Hurt Business, also including MVP, formed last year and saw success, including winning the Raw Tag Team Titles. They would ultimately split in January of this year, with Benjamin and Alexander being thrown out. You might remember the Hurt Business. Check out some of..

Main Event Results – September 2, 2021

Main Event Date: September 2, 2021 Location: Paycom Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton We’re out of the Summerslam fallout week and that means we are ready to get started on the road towards Extreme Rules. Some of the build began this week on Raw and odds are we’ll be seeing a lot more of that this week. As for the Main Event stuff, it’s probably time for more of the usual. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jeff Hardy vs. Cedric Alexander They trade spinning of their jackets to start until Alexander drives him into the corner and shouts about what Jeff has. A headlock has Hardy in more trouble but he sends Alexander face first into all four buckles. An ax handle sets up a failed Twist of Fate attempt and Alexander heads outside. Hardy misses a dive and bangs up his knee so Alexander can choke away back inside. Alexander takes him into the corner but Hardy headscissors his way to freedom. They slug it out until Hardy atomic drops him to set up..

Main Event Results – August 19, 2021

Main Event Date: August 19, 2021 Location: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton It’s the go home show for Summerslam and that means we should be in for a completely run of the mill edition of Main Event. Hopefully the show winds up surprising me, as you never know what you might be seeing around here. I mean, save for the build to Summerslam of course. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Cedric Alexander vs. Jaxson Ryker Alexander charges at him to start and is knocked down in a hurry. Back up and Alexander kicks at the leg, only to get slammed down. A running headbutt connects, only to have Alexander come back with more shots to the leg, including in the corner. Alexander grabs a kneebar to keep Ryker down and there’s a leg twist to make it worse. Back up again and Ryker runs him over one more time, this time for two. A quick brainbuster gives Alexander two more but the springboard clothesline misses, allowing Ryker to grab the swinging Boss Man ..

WWE RUMOR: Vince McMahon’s New Rule For Monday Night Raw

What he says goes. Vince McMahon might not be the most popular name in the wrestling industry but he certainly is the most powerful. McMahon controls the biggest and strongest wrestling promotion in the world and any change he makes could have quite the impact on the wrestling world for a long time to come. Now he might be shaking things up on Monday Night Raw. According to Ringsidenews.com, McMahon has told the WWE creative team to no longer present cold matches, meaning a match with no story or stipulation. This is why Jeff Hardy put his career on the line in an impromptu match against Cedric Alexander during this week’s Monday Night Raw. There’s no word on how long McMahon’s newest order will continue. The idea could go a few different ways. Check out the match, plus some more McMahon ideas: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This seems like another one of those McMahon ideas..

MVP’s Photo Fuels Speculation Over Hurt Business’ Future

I’d call it an upgrade. Stables are a concept that has been around wrestling for decades now, as they serve more than a few purposes at the same time. WWE has started to use them a bit more as of late and that has helped their television product a fairly good bit. Some of them are stronger than others, and now another one is teasing a heck of an upgrade. MVP has posted a new photo of himself and the Street Profits to his Instagram account. This has led to some speculation that the Street Profits may be looking into joining the Hurt Business in the near future. The Hurt Business currently consists of only MVP and Bobby Lashley, but once also included Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. The WWE on FOX Twitter accounted posted the photo as well, with three interested eyes emojis. There have been no reports to suggest that the team could be joining the Hurt Business and this is merely speculation at the time. Former Champions Make Surprise Return On Monday Night Raw

Welcome back. Injuries can be one of the worst things possible in wrestling as anyone can be taken out of the ring at any given time. Some injuries are worse than others but anything that puts someone on the shelf for any amount of time is a bad thing. Sometimes you see someone go on the shelf for a long time but most of the time, someone gets to come back. That was the case this week on Monday Night Raw. The Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania is quite possibly the biggest show of the year. The event is knock for having all kinds of surprises, returns, debuts and major angles taking place all throughout the night. It makes for some very cool moments as you never know what is going to happen or what you might be seeing. That was the case again with a rather nice return. Ivar of the Viking Raiders made his return during this week’s Monday Night Raw, teaming with Erik to defeat Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin in a tag match. This was Ivar’s first match since the September 7, 2020..

WWE News: Retribution Has Their First Set Of Enemies

Meet the new team. Nearly two months ago, the group who would become known as Retribution debuted on Monday Night Raw and started causing a lot of problems for WWE. The team has changed a bit since then, now including their own logo and almost a theme song in the form of the lights going out throughout the arena. They have become a pretty big story on the show, but now someone has taken notice. One of the better stories over the course of the year on Monday Night Raw has been the rise of the Hurt Business. Led by MVP, the team has gone from formation to success in just a few short months, including Bobby Lashley winning the United States Title and Cedric Alexander turning on his friends to join the team last week. They are a rather powerful group and now they have some more enemies. This week on Monday Night Raw, the Hurt Business was interrupted by a Retribution interview. Later in the night, the Hurt Business offered to be the new security that dealt with Retribution, with WWE offi..

VIDEO: WWE Stars In New Commercial

It’s better than nothing. With so many people on the WWE roster, it can be difficult for everyone to get some kind of television time. This can prove very frustrating both for the wrestlers and the fans, as they both want to see people on TV but it doesn’t always work that way. There are some alternatives to getting in the ring though and two WWE wrestlers are doing just that. You might not have watched it all that much, but 205 Live has produced some of the better action in WWE over the last few years. There was a stretch where it was possibly the best show the company had from an in-ring perspective with one high flying match after another. A big reason for that was a group of wrestlers they had, all of whom are now on bigger shows. They are reuniting in a way though, even if it isn’t in the ring. This is a unique one. Check out a new commercial featuring WWE stars: https://media.wrestlingrumors.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/25215750/Mustafa-Ali-Cedric-Alexander.mp4 WWE stars Mus..

How Is Your Bracket? Updated King Of The Ring Tournament Bracket Plus Remaining Schedule.

And then there were half. Earlier this month, WWE announced the long awaited return of the King Of The Ring tournament. The tournament, which has been held intermittently since the end of the annual competition in 2002, offers an instant upgrade for anyone who wins it, making the tournament a rather important accomplishment on almost any resume. And now, we’re done with the first round. After this week’s SmackDown Live, the first round of the King Of The Ring tournament has come to an end, leaving the field at eight instead of the sixteen that started. The quarterfinals will take place on next week’s Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live, the semifinals the week after that and the finals at Clash Of Champions. Here are the updated brackets: Monday Night Raw Samoa Joe Ricochet Cedric Alexander Baron Corbin SmackDown Live Elias Ali Chad Gable Andrade There was some good action on Tuesday. The Red Keeps Growing. Another SmackDown Live Name Moves To Monday Night Raw, Tag Team’s Future Unclear

One more for the red guys. Last week’s Superstar Shakeup seems to be all wrapped up, meaning the only time that the roster can make changes has come to an end. That’s the case, assuming WWE remembers that they can write the rules however they like. With that being the case, WWE can change the roster up whenever they feel like it, which they seem to have done tonight. This week on Monday Night Raw, Cesaro appeared on the show and was announced as a member of the roster, defeating Cedric Alexander. There is no word on what this means for the Bar with Cesaro’s partner Sheamus not appearing with him. At the moment, Sheamus is out of action with an injury, meaning it isn’t clear which show he will be on whenever he is medically cleared. It wasn’t that long ago. Check out Cesaro on SmackDown Live last week: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’ll go with cautiously optimistic here as there is no reason to believe that this Cesaro singles push will work any better than th..
