Down Time: WWE Star Injured Following Backstage Attack

It can happen to anyone. You never want to see a wrestler get hurt but it is something that can happen to anyone at any given time. Wrestlers can go from on a roll to having to sit on the sidelines while they heal up. At the same time, you can also have someone get hurt without even noticing it at the same time. That seems to be the case again, as a WWE star is on the injured list. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Gotcha: Surprise Heel Turn Takes Place At AEW Revolution Last week on Monday Night Raw, Candice LeRae defeated Piper Niven in a match. Following the show, Niven attacked LeRae during a backstage interview and laid her out. This week on Monday Night Raw, it was announced that LeRae had suffered a sprained AC joint in her right shoulder. There is no word on when LeRae will return to WWE TV, though she did wrestle at live events over the weekend. This would suggest that the injury is just part of a storyline. They aren’t done yet. WWE has a lot of television time in any given week and they often fill it with a good deal of action. That is the best way to advance storylines, but there is often more stuff that needs to be done after the show is over. You will occasionally see something take place after the show is over, which was the case this week as the violence continued after Monday Night Raw. Former WWE Women’s Champion Returns To Television

She’s back. WWE has had a number of returns in the past 48 hours, with names such as Chelsea Green and Rick Boogs returning to the company. However, there was an additional name that also made her presence felt on television. Carmella made her return to WWE programming on tonight’s episode of Raw. It was also announced that she would be in a Fatal-4-way match on next week’s show, along with Candice LaRae, Michin, and Piper Niven. The winner of that match will qualify for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match, where the winner will face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. Injury Update on Johnny Gargano; Out of Action Temporarily

You hate to see it. Tonight on RAW, Candice LaRae mentioned in a backstage interview that her husband, Johnny Gargano, suffered an injury at a recent WWE event. Gargano took to Twitter to confirm the report, saying the following: I injured my shoulder at a live event in Toronto (ironic?), and the medical team is going to protect me from myself for a bit.. but you better believe I’m going to do EVERYTHING I can to get back in that ring so I can be that guy you all know I can be. Switch Em Up: WWE Reportedly Changes WarGames Plans Due To Injuries

What could have been. We are in a different time in WWE as there are several things taking place that would have seemed more than a bit strange in years past. This includes the introduction of some new concepts, or at least concepts that have not been used in WWE before. We will be seeing another of those later this month, but now WWE seems likely to be changing plans. On Saturday November 26, WWE will present Survivor Series, which will include a pair of WarGames matches, the first ever on the main roster. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there is a chance that WWE may have to make a change to both matches due to injury. This includes Kevin Owens, who is out of action with a knee injury, and possibly Candice LeRae, who was penciled in for a spot in the match but has not appeared on WWE TV in recent weeks. WWE Explains The Absence Of Two Monday Night Raw Stars

They need some time. There are all kinds of reasons to take someone off of a television show. It could be for anything from an injury to someone needing some time to be freshened up a bit. WWE does this on a regular basis and that is what they have done in two different ways with a pair of wrestlers, both of which were announced on the same television show. WWE seemingly wrote off or explained the absences of two wrestlers this week on Monday Night Raw. First, the Miz mentioned Tommaso Ciampa missing during a promo, with Johnny Gargano responding that Ciampa was not missing, but rather injured. Ciampa has not wrestled since a live event on September 17. It is not clear what is wrong with him or when he will be back. Later in the show, Damage Ctrl attacked Candice LeRae, with commentary later announcing that LeRae had suffered a shoulder injury. There is no word on when LeRae will be returning to the ring. Former NXT Star Makes Surprise Return To WWE In Main Roster Debut

Welcome back to the family. WWE has been shaken up in a lot of ways in recent months, both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. One of the biggest changes has been due to the amount of wrestlers who have been brought back. That can make for some very exciting television and WWE did it again this week, with a surprise return and debut taking place at the same time. This week on Monday Night Raw, Candice LeRae made her return to the company and main roster debut, defeating Nikki Ash. LeRae had been absent from WWE since late 2021 as she went on maternity leave. Her contract expired in May of this year and she chose not to renew it. LeRae’s husband Johnny Gargano is also on the Monday Night Raw roster, having returned to the company last month. Opinion: LeRae might not be a game changer (yet) but she is certainly a nice debut as she never got a chance on the main roster. Two More Former WWE Stars May Be AEW Bound

They might have a place to go. With so many wrestlers in the world, the rise of AEW has been a huge change of pace as there are now so many more spots available for top stars to hone their craft. It has made a huge difference with all kinds of wrestlers, including some who do not fit in with WWE. Now it might be the case again, albeit with one wrestler and a manager. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a chance that both Malcolm Bivens and Candice LeRae could be going to AEW. Bivens was let go from WWE last month when he declined to sign a new deal, with the thought being that he wanted to go to AEW. Should he sign, he is allowed to appear there on May 29. In LeRae’s case, there is reportedly interest from Tony Khan in signing her, but it is not clear if LeRae is interested. This includes the main roster as well as the NXT developmental rosters, where wrestlers still appear on national television. However, one of those stars will no longer be around as her deal with the company has expired. According to Fightful Select, Candice LeRae’s WWE deal has expired, making her a free agent. LeRae has been gone from WWE television last summer as she went on maternity leave, with her son being born in January. Since her WWE contract expired and she was not released, she will have no non-compete clause and is eligible to wrestle anywhere she wants at any time. Is he next? One of the most interesting string of changes over the last few weeks has been the amount of wrestlers whose contracts have expired in WWE. While that alone is a big deal, it is even bigger when they take their talents elsewhere. This usually means AEW, and now another fairly prominent WWE name may be heading over to the free agent list by the end of the year. According to Fightful Select, Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract is expiring on December 3. At the moment, Gargano has not signed a new deal with WWE and it is not clear if he will. NXT Superstars Have A Baby On The Way

Congratulations! Wrestlers are an interesting subject as their job is to keep you believing a lie that they tell you every single week, even if everyone already knows it to be a lie. That is hardly the easiest thing to do but wrestlers have made it a bit of an art form. These same wrestlers have lives of their own though, and now two of them have gotten some very good news in those lives. NXT stars Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano have announced that they are expecting their first child, which will be due in February 2022. As a result, LeRae will be out of action for the next several months. Her most recent match took place on the July 6 edition of NXT, when LeRae and Indi Hartwell lost the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships to Zoey Stark and Io Shirai. VIDEO: Surprise Return Takes Place As NXT Battery Is Fully Charged

The surprise. There are a lot of reasons a wrestler might be gone from television for any given amount of time. One of the biggest is an injury, which is the kind of thing that can derail a career in a hurry. One of the few silver linings is to find a way to have a huge comeback, which can be set up in a variety of ways. That was on display this week and it worked rather well. This week on NXT, Tegan Nox made a surprise return to television, following a ten plus month absence. Nox was revealed to be behind the battery charging vignettes which aired throughout June and showed a battery rising from 0%, with the total reaching 100% this week. The return took place during a Women’s Tag Team Title match, which saw the Way lose their titles partially due to Nox’s distraction. Nox suffered a torn ACL in August 2020, forcing her out of action to undergo surgery. The injury was explained by an attack at the hands of Candice LeRae, who Nox attacked as she returned this week. Hand It Over: Title Change Takes Place On NXT

History has been made again. There are so many titles under the WWE banner today and that means you can see titles changing hands a bit more often than back in the day. This may or may not be a good thing, as you get the instant boost from a title change, but at the same time the amount of changes dilutes the impact that they can have. That might have been the case this week. During this week’s edition of NXT, Io Shirai and Zoey Stark won the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles by defeating The Way, Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. Shirai and Stark won the titles after a distraction from the returning Tegan Nox, allowing Stark to pin Hartwell. The win makes Shirai and Stark the fourth champions in the titles’ history, after they were introduced in January of this year. The division has come a long way.
