Impact Wrestling Results – March 2, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: March 2, 2023 Location: Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are done with No Surrender and that means we are at least one step closer to Rebellion in April. Josh Alexander is still the World Champion after retaining over Rich Swann, but now Steve Maclin is waiting on the champ. That should make for a good buildup and they have time to make it work. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of No Surrender. Here is the Bullet Club for a chat to start. Chris Bey is rather happy about what he and Ace Austin have been doing lately, including beating the Motor City Machine Guns (in a six man tag) at No Surrender. Bey talks about helping set up the ring in this building before making his Impact Wrestling debut here as well. It turns out that Austin debuted here too but he would rather talk about beating Chris Sabin. After revealing Austin’s “I BEAT CHRIS SABIN”, we get a quick audience poll over who the be..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 2, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: February 2, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, Florida Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s the start of a new month and we are well on our way to No Surrender. Last week saw Rich Swann win a #1 contenders match to earn a shot at Josh Alexander later this month, but it still feels like we are coming up on Steve Maclin as the really big bad. Odds are we see more of the build this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Bullet Club vs. Kevin Knight/Kushida Knight and Ace start things off with Bey’s headlock not getting him very far. Knight misses a charge into the corner and Bey stomps him in the back, only to get caught with a springboard spinning crossbody. It’s off to Kushida to start in on the arm but it’s right back to Knight, whose springboard is dropkicked out of the air. Austin comes in to stomp Knight down for two and he kicks away at Knight in the corner. The Club starts taking turns on Knight, with Austin ..

A Tribute To Insult? Grayson Waller Takes Surprising Shot At Shawn Michaels After NXT

I guess he isn’t a fan. WWE has been undergoing a variety of changes in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are going to be ending anytime soon. While several of these changes have been taking place on the main roster, there have also been multiple changes in NXT. One of them does not seem to have set well with a top NXT star though and he let fans know about it this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not Interested: Fans Sound Off On Speculation Of Eva Marie WWE Return (And They Aren’t Happy) The ending segment of this week’s NXT saw Grayson Waller call out NXT Champion Bron Breakker for a fight. Breakker appeared and speared Waller, only to knock himself unconscious as Waller revealed that he was wearing a bullet proof vest. Following the show, Waller tweeted a photo of the ending, plus a photo of Bret Hart doing the same thing to Goldberg in 1999. Waller said “That was for all the flops backstage at NXT that kiss Shawn Michaels ass every single day”. Michael..

NXT Deadline Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It isn’t often that NXT tries something entirely new but that seems to be what we are getting here. The show has five matches and two of them are the first ever Iron Survivor Challenges (one each for the men and the women). That means the show is going to be built around those two matches and if they work, NXT should be doing just fine. Otherwise, it could be a long night. Let’s get to it. Alba Fyre vs. Isla Dawn So this is fire vs. magic? I’m sure there’s some gaming joke in there that I’m not smart enough to make but at least we’re getting some fresh blood featured here. Fyre is someone who feels like she should have been a bigger star a long time ago while Dawn is brand new and has already made something of an impact. This should be a good fight, though I’m not sure how it is going to go. I’ll take Dawn here, as she is brand new without a big win yet and Fyre seems to have the unfortunate label of being bulletproof. Fyre has all of the star power you could need but she needs to wi..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 20, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: October 20, 2022 Location: Albany Armory, Albany, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We’re still coming out of Bound For Glory and that means it is time to start getting ready for whatever the next monthly special is going to be. In this case, that means Frankie Kazarian is going to cash in his X-Division Title for a World Title shot against Josh Alexander. That is likely going to mean some competition for the vacant title and it might start tonight. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. The Bullet Club goes to see Ace Austin but find him down in the parking lot. Tommy Dreamer is here but denies everything. Opening sequence. Tommy Dreamer/Bully Ray vs. Bullet Club It’s Chris Bey/Juice Robinson here, with Robinson putting on his wrist tape on the way to the ring (as he is replacing Austin). Dreamer sends Bey to the apron to start but it’s quickly off to Robinson to stomp Ray down in the corner. Some rapid fire chops in the corner have Robinson in..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 29, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 29, 2022 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are done with Victory Road and that means we are only a little over a week away from Bound For Glory. I’m still not sure why Victory Road was such a necessary show before the biggest night of the year but at least it wasn’t an eventful night, meaning Bound For Glory got even more build. Hopefully that can continue tonight so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Bullet Club vs. Trey Miguel/Laredo Kid It’s Ace Austin/Chris Bey for the Club, with Juice Robinson in their corner. Austin and Kid start things off with an exchange of wristlocks but hold on as Austin needs to hold up Too Sweet. A quick high crossbody gives Kid an early two so it’s Bey offering a distraction so Austin can take over on the arm. Bey comes in with a backbreaker as we hear about his album coming out around Halloween. Kid slips away and hands it off to Miguel to fire off kicks at Bey..

Yes, Again: Another Last Minute Change To AEW Forbidden Door Card

Yes, another one. With just over twenty four hours to go before AEW’s Forbidden Door event, you would think most of the card would be set. AEW is ready to take on the stars of New Japan in a series of matches, which should make for a rather fun night. However, even with so little time left, another change has been made, though this time it wasn’t WWE’s decision to make. AEW has announced that Hiromu Takahashi has a fever and is not allowed to travel to the United States for his match at Forbidden Door. Takahashi was scheduled to team with Sting, Darby Allin and Shingo Takagi against the Young Bucks, Hikuleo and El Phantasmo, but the match will now be a six man tag with Hikuleo also sitting out. There is no word on if Takahashi will wrestle for AEW in the future to make up for this show. Hiromu Takahashi (@TIMEBOMB1105) has a fever and can’t travel to America to compete at Forbidden Door. The match will now be a trios match with #BulletClub (@youngbucks & @elpwrestling, with @Hiku_Leo..

How Sweet It Is: New Super Team Seems To Form On WWE Monday Night Raw

A pair to draw to. WWE has a unique history with tag team wrestling as they very rarely tend to focus on it. Rather than building up traditional teams, WWE tends to like to put two singles wrestlers together as makeshift teams, often leading to major tag matches. That seems to be the case again, as some top stars seem to be coming together on a heck of a collision course. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles defeated Damian Priest in a singles match. After the match was over, Priest’s partner Edge attacked Styles, with Priest and Edge attempting to further damage Styles’ shoulder. This caused Finn Balor, who has had issues with Edge and Priest in recent weeks, to run in for the save. Balor and Styles, both former members of the Bullet Club, then did the Too Sweet gesture. No match has been made between the two teams. Opinion: I like the idea of Balor and Styles together, though it does seem a bit weird that Styles is able to defeat Priest with Edge helping him and THEN gets a par..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 10, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: February 10, 2022 Location: Charles Dodge Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We’re almost up to No Surrender and the card is starting to look good. What makes things all the better is that the entire show has been working in the last few weeks. The Bullet Club is here and seems to be going after the Tag Team Titles, which is better than putting them near the top of the card. Other than that, Honor No More continues to look interesting and I want to know where they’re going in the long run. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at W. Morrissey attacking Moose on the way to their World Title match. Opening sequence. Here is Josh Alexander for a chat, but first he has to soak in some WALKING WEAPON chants. He isn’t about to let Impact Wrestling go to war against Honor No More without him so he’ll be there at No Surrender. That isn’t the only match at No Surrender, as W. Morrissey is going for the World Title against ..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: February 3, 2022 Location: Charles Dodge Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are on the way to No Surrender and things are starting to pick up. The main event is already set with W. Morrissey getting his World Title shot against Moose, but there is another major match on the card in a different way. The other major match will see a team of Impact wrestlers facing off with Honor No More, which should boost the story that much more. Other than that, the Bullet Club seems to be here again. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Digital Media Title: Matt Cardona vs. Jordynne Grace Cardona is challenging and shoves Grace around a few times to start, which has Grace a bit surprised. Grace’s running shoulders don’t do much good so she trips Cardona down instead. Cardona misses a neckbreaker but Grace misses a Vader bomb, allowing Cardona to suplex her into the corner. A regular suplex drops Grace again and ther..

Wrestle Kingdom XVI Night Two Results

Wrestle Kingdom XVI Night Two Date: January 5, 2022 Location: Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan Attendance: 6,379 Commentators: Chris Charlton, Kevin Kelly It’s the second of three nights of this show and this one feels like the biggest. Last night’s main event saw Kazuchika Okada win the IWGP World Title again, which leaves him ready for his first defense against Will Ospreay. The second biggest match on the card is Kenta defending the United States Title against Hiroshi Tanahashi in a No DQ match, which could be a heck of a fight. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Togi Makabe/Yuji Nagata/Tomoaki Honma vs. Bullet Club That would be Bad Luck Fale, Gedo and Jado for the Club. The Club jumps them to start but Jado and Gedo are knocked to the floor to start. Fale is fine enough to run Honma over though and the good guys are in trouble early. Honma is sent outside and Makabe gets taken into the corner with Jado standing on his chest. Gedo and Fale take Jado’s place but Makabe fights up and brings Nagat..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 11, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: November 11, 2021 Location: Sam’s Town Live, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown We continue on the way towards Hard To Kill, though it is going to take some time to actually get there. There are a few things going on at the moment as well, which includes the build towards Turning Point. That could mean a few different ways to go on this show so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Bullet Club vs. FinJuice The winners get the Tag Team Title shot at Turning Point and Hikuleo is here with the Club. Bey headlocks Finlay to start and gets a grand total of nowhere. Instead Finlay takes him down and drops a knee to the chest. Robinson comes in for a slam and a backsplash crushes Bey again. Bey slips out of a delayed vertical suplex though and a distraction lets Robinson get dropped throat first across the barricade. Back in and a legsweep takes Robinson down so El Phantasmo can hit a Lionsault. The top rope back rake wakes Robinso..

Emotional Moment Takes Place After AEW Full Gear Wraps Up

The champ is here. There are a lot of things that can change the wrestling landscape and a new World Champion is one of the most important. It can represent a new era for a wrestling promotion, especially if it has been a long time coming. That was the case this weekend, and we did not have to wait long to hear from the new champion, who was still rather emotional. The main event of this weekend’s AEW Full Gear pay per view saw Hangman Page defeat Kenny Omega to become the new World Champion. Following his win, the Dark Order came to the ring to celebrate with him to end the show. After the pay per view went off the air, Page addressed the crowd. Here is what he had to say, with transcription courtesy of PWInsider.com: “I told myself all day that if this was the outcome, I would cry like a little baby. I guess I lied to myself about that. That seems to be a thing with me. I lie to myself. When I joined the Bullet Club, I thought I’d never measure up. I thought I’d never belong and I ..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 21, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: October 21, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Josh Matthews, D’Lo Brown It’s the go home show for Bound For Glory and the card is set. That could leave a few different directions to choose this week and I’m curious to see where things are going to go. The good thing is that Impact has earned the benefit of the doubt over….dang a year plus or so? Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Bullet Club vs. FinJuice For the Bound For Glory Tag Team Title shot and that would be Chris Bey/Hikuleo for the Club. Finlay starts with Hikuleo with the big man knocking Finlay down without much effort. It’s already off to Robinson, who backsplashes Bey for a fast two. Robinson knocks Bey off the top and a double bulldog drops Hikuleo for two. Finlay gets knocked down though and it’s Bey coming in with a springboard rake to the back. The chinlock goes on but Finlay gets up and, with Bey holding a leg, hops over for the tag to Robinson..

WWE Is Lightening Up A Bit On Scripting Some Promos

Not everyone can say that. There are a lot of different aspects to being a successful wrestler but one of the most important is being able to talk. At some point wrestlers need to find a way to communicate with fans and the best way is often through a microphone. If a wrestler can talk well, it is going to make ufp for a lot of their other problems, and one wrestler’s talking abilities have earned him a special privilege. NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes was a guest on Busted Open Radio where he revealed that he is allowed some creative control in his promos. Hayes is given bullet points, but most of the words and phrases he uses are his own. This is partially as a way to reach a younger demographic, with NXT coach Shawn Michaels saying he trusted Hayes to help reach that group of fans. Hayes does have quite the talent. Check out what he has done in NXT: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click ..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 14, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: October 14, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Josh Matthews, D’Lo Brown We’re less than two weeks away from Bound For Glory and that means it is time to really hammer home the stories. Most of the card is set, save for the final spot in the X-Division Title match. Things have been going well as of late and I’m actually interested in where the show goes. Keeping that up is not going to easy but maybe they can make it work. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at last week’s main event as Josh Alexander vs. Christian Cage continues to heat up. X-Division Title Qualifying Match: Rohit Raju vs. El Phantasmo vs. Willie Mack The winner joins Trey Miguel and Steve Maclin for the title match at Bound For Glory and the rest of the Bullet Club is in Phantasmo’s corner. Phantasmo is sent outside to start, leaving Mack to shoulder Raju down. Phantasmo replaces Raju and can’t get anywhere with some shoulders of his own. This time it’s Ma..

Jay White And Tama Tonga: Heading For A Bullet Club Breakdown?

Jay White’s recent activities in the United States have heightened his overall exposure for professional wrestling fans. Many of those fans may not follow The Switchblade on a full time basis, mostly because they perhaps do not subscribe to New Japan World. But now they’re getting just a taste of what The Bullet Club leader is capable of when he’s at his best. Jay is 5-0 in singles matches since his July arrival in America and he’s still untouchable on the mic as well. But despite how good White looks, Tama Tonga seems none too happy and may be on his way to taking the power back from King Switch. [This post contains video, click to play] The Shadow Leadership The dynamic of The Bullet Club is intriguing, to say the least. Tama is a founding member of the group, which has become arguably the most dominant in pro wrestling history. Much of that is thanks to his work, both as a character and in the ring. Tama is real. He’s as real as they come and he’s never been shy about reminding..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 7, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: October 7, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Josh Matthews, D’Lo Brown We are just over two weeks away from Bound For Glory and if you don’t know all of the card so far, you can probably guess what is coming on the show. There is still a lot of work to do though, including Eddie Edwards needing to deal with Moose. That could go in a few different directions so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Bullet Club vs. FinJuice/Chris Sabin It’s Chris Bey/Hikuleo/El Phantasmo for the Club. Bey takes Sabin into the corner to start but we actually get a clean break. They go back back and forth with neither actually getting anywhere so Phantasmo comes in to take Robinson down. A standing moonsault hits Robinson he’s back up with an atomic drop. The non-Club starts taking turns on Phantasmo’s arm. Robinson has to fight off everything at once but Bey finally knocks him down to take over. Hikuleo teases coming in but jumps down ..

Jay White Leading A Bullet Club Invasion In AEW?

Jay White retained the IWGP NEVER Openweight Championship against David Finally at NJPW Resurgence. The event took place on Friday, August 13 live from The Torch at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The defacto Bullet Club leader came into the match with quite the buzz surrounding him, thanks to his recent stint in Impact Wrestling. That stint includes the addition of Chris Bey into the Bullet Club’s ranks. White is met with cheers and full crowd support despite where he goes, which is understandable. American fans admire King Switch’s work from afar and that is typically always the case. But this is about more than just Jay getting over in the United States. Is The Bullet Club gearing up for an American invasion? [This post contains video, click to play] It’s Still His Era The Switchblade is the undeniable top heel in New Japan Pro Wrestling. His devious tactics and despicable nature keep him firmly on the company’s dark side. It’s a role that firmly he embraces. No one cuts a heel promo..

Impact Wrestling Results – August 5, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: August 5, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker We’re still in the middle of the Kenny Omega Era and that means he needs a new #1 contender. That is what we get to find out next week, but for now we still have some more things to cover first. Since this is modern wrestling, the Bullet Club is involved, as Jay White and company are fighting against the Elite, including a six man tag this week. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Chris Bey vs. Juice Robinson Jay White and David Finlay are here too. Bey dropkicks him into the corner at the bell and Robinson gets stomped down in a hurry. Robinson gets sent outside and something like a 619 on the mat takes him down again. Back in and Robinson catches Bey’s kick to the ribs, only to get pulled into a sleeper. Robinson slips out so Bey hits a Fameasser for two. Robinson is back with a spinebuster for a breather and they’re both down for a bit. The Ca..
