It came from the source. It had been previously reported that the Bella Twins were officially leaving WWE for good and had rebranded themselves as Nikki and Brie Garcia. One of the main questions that has risen is the wrestling future, particularly when it comes to AEW. That question was answered today on Instagram Live, where Nikki confirmed that her and her sister would not be going to AEW. You can see a clip of that below: Nikki and Brie Garcia are not going to AEW. pic.twitter.com/PkzCosyUER — Wrestling News (@WrestlingNewsCo) March 15, 2023 Garcia also mentioned that there was fan speculation that things have soured between both them and WWE. She said it seems that way because of “everything in the past” but there are no hard feelings. Editor’s Opinion: I’ll take the Garcias at their word, as they have absolutely no reason to taint their legacy by going to AEW. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me if Tony Khan threw a bunch of money at them to get a major pop for one nig..
The final promotion. WWE has a unique situation as the company is able to run its own developmental system. With NXT, WWE gets to build up its own future generation, which can help them repopulate their roster whenever they need to. It can mean a lot when a wrestler is able to move up to the main roster and now WWE seems to have their eyes on a brand new star. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Mend: Wrestling Legend Reveals Very Positive Health News According to PWInsider.com by way of Wrestlingheadlines.com, NXT’s Zoey Stark will be working on upcoming WWE live events in triple threat matches involving Sonya Deville and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte. The idea is for WWE to see how Stark handles working in front of larger crowds. There is nothing to suggest that Stark will be promoted to the main roster anytime soon but WWE does want another look at her. Stark has done well during her time in NXT. Check out what has caught WWE’s eye: [This post contains video, click to play] [..
Mark your calendars. On average, WWE runs one Premium Live Event a month and you can usually pencil in a lot of the events. Some shows have been run n the same months for years now and there is nothing to suggest that they will be changing anytime soon. Occasionally you will see something else slip in though and that might be the case with a returning event. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Maybe? Pat McAfee Explains Uncertainty About WWE Future Following Company Sale Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston is reporting that multiple sources have confirmed WWE will present Backlash on May 6 and King & Queen Of The Ring on May 27. WWE has not yet announced either show. Backlash, which has been called WrestleMania Backlash in recent years, is regularly the next major event after WrestleMania. King Of The Ring has been held on and off for several years, though it has only been a stand alone event once since 2002. Queen Of The Ring has never been held, though WWE did hold a Queen’s Crown tournament in 202..
It’s a different group. Stables have been a part of WWE’s history for decades now and there is nothing to suggest that they will be going away anytime soon. They are a logical idea, as you can have several wrestlers in one place and getting more television time than they might have otherwise. Now though, we might be seeing a WWE stable gaining another member. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: By His Ruling: Lawsuit Filed Against WWE By MLW Dismissed, Case Not Over Yet Last month on Monday Night Raw, Maxxine Dupri of Maximum Male Models met Otis and thought he could be perfect for the team. This week, Dupri offered Otis a modeling job while saying that Otis could be the face of their brand, which left Otis seeming intrigued. There is no word on where this could be going or what this will mean for Otis’ partner Chad Gable. This has potential. That would be a change. You never know when you might see someone return to WWE after a long hiatus and it can make for quite the fun moment. Occasionally someone will pop in after a long hiatus and find something new to do in the company. That was the case back at the Royal Rumble and now it seems that one of the returning superstars might be bringing someone with her. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Uh Oh: Backstage Belief On Vince McMahon’s Involvement With WWE Sale Chelsea Green made her surprise return to WWE in the Women’s Royal Rumble and has since continued to appear on the main roster, portraying a “Karen” like character. As shown by a fan in a tweet, Green’s entrance graphics contain an RS logo, which is the same logo for the Robert Stone brand in NXT. Green is a former member of the Robert Stone Brand before being called up to the main roster for the first time. There has been no mention of Stone on the main roster and no word on when or if he might debut. Not the robert stone bra..
They worked well the first time. WWE has been around for a very long time and has a deep history. The company has done a lot of things over the years, with some of them being rather memorable. Those moments are often things that only happened once due to one reason or another, but now WWE might be bringing back some of the most memorable vignettes they have ever done. According to WrestleVotes, WWE is planning to create more of the parody trailers for this year’s show. Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, the Brawling Brutes and the Street Profits are expected to be involved. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2. I’m hearing WWE has begun filming brand new “movie par..
They’re on the move. WWE has enough wrestlers that they have been able to split their talent pool into three unique rosters. Monday Night Raw, NXT and SmackDown all have their own set of talent, but some of them will occasionally move from one show to another. That seems to be the case again as two wrestlers, along with their manager, have moved to a different roster. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Cha Ching: How WWE Made A Million Dollars In About Five Minutes Last week on Monday Night Raw, the Maximum Male Models appeared, with Maxxine Dupri seeming to take an interest in Otis, though nothing else took place. According to Fightful Select, the team (Dupri, Mace and Mansoor) have officially moved to Monday Night Raw. An angle is expected to take place to confirm the move as well as to continue the storyline with Otis. This has potential. It’s a different kind of match. There are so many varieties of matches that a promotion can run that you almost never see a lot of them. Some will always pop up, such as No Holds Barred or a lumberjack match or a cage match, but occasionally something will come up that is brand new or at least not used very often. We might be seeing something like that again on a big stage. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: Huge Title Match Considered For Top WrestleMania 39 Match Last month, WWE presented the first ever Pitch Black match, sponsored by Mountain Dew. During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, WWE Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Partnerships Craig Stimmel announced that there would be another sponsored match at WrestleMania 39, though he did not give any further details. There is no word on who will be involved, what kind of match it will be or who will be sponsoring it. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2. WWE has had some sponsored moments before. Che..
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Elimination Chamber 2017 Date: February 12, 2017 Location: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, Arizona Commentators: Mauro Ranallo, John Bradshaw Layfield, Tom Phillips, David Otunga We’re two weeks removed from the Royal Rumble and that means it’s time for another pay per view. This time it’s Smackdown only with the big namesake match setting up the Wrestlemania World Title match for the blue brand. The winner seems pretty obvious but that’s never stopped WWE before. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Curt Hawkins vs. Moj..
He’s back! At tonight’s Impact Wrestling Hard to Kill pay-per-view event, former WWE superstar Santino Marella made his debut in Impact Wrestling. Marella made his entrance after Moose used a low blow to defeat Joe Hendry and announced that he is now in the role of the Director of Authority. He then restarted the match, which led to Hendry getting the win and retaining the Digital Media Championship. You can see a clip of the return below: .@milanmiracle is HERE and is the BRAND NEW Director of Authority! @TheMooseNation and @joehendry CONTINUES! #HardToKill pic.twitter.com/CY68Ndy8hF — IMPACT (@IMPACTWRESTLING) January 14, 2023 According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, Marella, whose real name is Anthony Carelli, is able to use the “Santino Marella” name because WWE abandoned the trademark some time ago and it was registered by attorney Mike Dockins last month. He retired from WWE due to neck issues and he has been running the BattleArts school/promotion in Toronto. Editor’s ..
