They Went At It: Another AEW Backstage Scuffle Revealed

It happens. With so many wrestlers around the AEW locker room there are bound to be two of them who do not get along for one reason or another. It might be a longstanding issue or it might be something that pops up out of nowhere. The latter was true in this situation, as we now know about two AEW stars who had a physical altercation after something went wrong. Nice job. AEW has grown by leaps and bounds since its debut less than four years ago. The company has already seen all kinds of new stars and traditions begin, including going to some rather large markets. That was the case earlier this week as the company took Dynamite to Los Angeles. While the show’s attendance might not have been a record, they did manage to break one important record. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Title Time! Who Left AEW Dynamite As The Trios Champions? This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite was held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the show set a record for the most day of show walk up ticket sales in AEW history. Ouch: New Detail On Tommaso Ciampa’s Hip Injury And Surgery

That’s a long time. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to be injured and you never want to see someone put on the shelf for any length of time. Some injuries can take place all at once while others are the kind of that build up over time. Both have to be taken care of though and now we know a bit more about a WWE star who had to go under the knife earlier this year. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: International Star Announces He Is WWE Bound Back in October, Tommaso Ciampa revealed that he had undergone surgery to repair his hip, which has since been mentioned on WWE TV. He’s new around here. There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster but the company has to constantly add in new names on a regular basis. WATCH: AEW Dynamite Set For Major Change Going Forward

You have to keep things fresh. Television is the focal point of most wrestling promotions as it is the easiest way to get the fans to see what the company is doing. At the same time, the television show itself has to look good and catch the fans’ attention. That means some changes occasionally need to be made and now one of the bigger wrestling shows going today will be doing just that. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Another Run? Former WWE Star Lana Thinks Miro Will Return To WWE This week on AEW Rampage, a vignette aired advertising a new look for AEW Dynamite starting with the January 4 edition. Later that night, Vice President of Post-Production Kevin Sullivan posted about the vignette on Twitter, calling it a “bold, new vision” and the result of nine months of work. Sullivan also credited Tony Khan, saying his “vision is boundless”. There is no word on if Rampage will be changed as well. This is a different way to go. Impact Wrestling Results – December 1, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: December 1, 2022 Location: Old Forester’s Paristown Hall, Louisville, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are back to the regular show after last week’s Thanksgiving special. That means we need to start getting ready for whatever the December show will be, plus Hard To Kill. The latter of these shows will likely be headlined by Bully Ray challenging Josh Alexander for the World Title, but we need something else besides that. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Bully Ray teasing being good and then going all evil as he goes after the World Title. Here is Bully Ray, complete with the broken Call Your Shot trophy to get things going. He isn’t sure if these Kentuckians will understand him so he tries to keep it simple. Ray shows up at Bound For Glory, ran the gauntlet, and earned the title shot. He told Josh Alexander that he was coming for him on January 13 and they shook hands, with Alexander accepting the match. The fans chant for A..

What Could Have Been: Here’s What Was Originally Planned For CM Punk After All Out

AEW’s Television Future Could Be Very Promising

That’s a good sign. AEW has come a very long way in a rather short amount of time. The company has only been around for about three and a half years but it is already the second biggest wrestling promotion in the United States. That is in part due to its very strong television presence, and now the agreement that keeps them on the air may be getting even bigger. According to Fightful Select, a source at Warner Brothers Discovery would be “shocked” if AEW does not get a new television deal with the company, but also with a big increase in the rights fee. Warner Brothers Discovery has worked closely with AEW and 2022 was seen as a rebound year for wrestling interest, which has sparked a good relationship. AEW’s current deal expires at the end of 2023. Opinion: That is great to hear, as AEW getting more money and having more ability to move around and try new things is one of the best things that could happen to them. The company needs more money to help fund various things and a rights..

WWE Interested In Bringing Back Another Former Star

She has their eye. There have been a lot of returns to WWE in the last few months and there is nothing to suggest that they are going to calm down. Some of these returns have come out of nowhere with names who never got a serious chance in the company being brought back. That might be happening again as WWE is reportedly interested in bringing back another past star. According to Fightful Select, WWE is interested in bringing back Mia Yim. This comes about a year after Yim was released from the company in November 2021 as part of the Retribution stable, where she was known as Reckoning. Since then, Yim has wrestled on the independents and in Impact Wrestling, where she lost to Mickie James at Bound For Glory in October. There is no word on when Yim would be returning, if she does indeed sign with WWE again. Opinion: This is the kind of signing that could help WWE as the company needs fresh blood where it can find it. Yim was never given a chance to become a serious player in WWE and ..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 20, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: October 20, 2022 Location: Albany Armory, Albany, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We’re still coming out of Bound For Glory and that means it is time to start getting ready for whatever the next monthly special is going to be. In this case, that means Frankie Kazarian is going to cash in his X-Division Title for a World Title shot against Josh Alexander. That is likely going to mean some competition for the vacant title and it might start tonight. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. The Bullet Club goes to see Ace Austin but find him down in the parking lot. Tommy Dreamer is here but denies everything. Opening sequence. Tommy Dreamer/Bully Ray vs. Bullet Club It’s Chris Bey/Juice Robinson here, with Robinson putting on his wrist tape on the way to the ring (as he is replacing Austin). Dreamer sends Bey to the apron to start but it’s quickly off to Robinson to stomp Ray down in the corner. Some rapid fire chops in the corner have Robinson in..

Two Title Changes Take Place During The Same Show

There go two of them. Titles are the most important things in wrestling as they identify the biggest stars in any given promotion. Any fan understands the idea of a wrestler holding a shiny gold belt and holding it can mean a lot. It can also mean quite a bit when a title changes hands, which was the case this week, albeit in two rather different fashions entirely. Two titles changed hands this week on Impact Wrestling. First, Frankie Kazarian vacated the X-Division Title he won at Bound For Glory via Option C, earning himself a World Title shot against Josh Alexander. Later in the show, Honor No More’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett lost the Tag Team Titles to Heath and Rhino. This comes after Taven and Bennett made their AEW debuts last week on Rampage. Opinion: That is quite the eventful night and you do not see something like this happen very often. Kazarian had announced that he was going to be vacating the title last week so there was only so much surprise. It was similarly true o..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 13, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: October 13, 2022 Location: Albany Armory, Albany, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the Bound For Glory fallout show, as the biggest pay per view of the year ended with Bully Ray as the next challenger to Josh Alexander. Since there was no way to have him show up on Impact and make a challenge, Ray won a twenty man match by pinning Steve Maclin to get the shot. I’m sure nothing but good will come from this. Let’s get to it. We open with a long recap of Bound For Glory. Here is Josh Alexander to get things going. The fans are rather glad to see Alexander, who talks about how Eddie Edwards said their match was going to be a war. That is what it was, but now the war is over because here he stands, still the World Champion. He is the champion but he has made mistakes. Now he knows that the next challenger is waiting so Bully Ray, get out here right now. Cue Bully, who Alexander welcomes back to the company, but wants to know why Ray helpe..

Bound For Glory 2022 Results

Bound For Glory 2022 Date: October 7, 2022 Location: Washington Avenue Armory, Albany, New York Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the biggest night of the Impact year and the show doesn’t look too bad. Honor No More is in a pair of title matches, including the show’s main event, so tonight might determine all of the group’s future. That could go in a few ways but there is enough other stuff to keep the interest up. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Digital Media Title: Brian Myers vs. ??? Myers is defending in an open challenge and it’s……Dirty Dango (Fandango) for a surprise. Feeling out process to start with Dango hitting a dropkick to put the champ down. A legdrop gives Dango two and it’s time for Myers to bail out to the floor. Myers wins the fight outside as we go to French commentary for a bit. Back in and the chinlock goes on, with the fans trying to cheer Dango back up to his feet. Some stomping sets up another chinlock but Dango sends him outside for the slingshot d..

Multiple Title Changes Take Place In One Night

Hand them over. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they tell any fan who matters most on the show. Wrestlers with a large shiny title in their hands are going to be treated as a bigger deal than others and it can mean a lot when a title changes hands. That is what happened on one night, as multiple championships changed hands on a single show. Impact Wrestling held its annual Bound For Glory event on Friday night where two championships changed hands. First up, Frankie Kazarian defeated Mike Bailey to win the X-Division Title for the sixth time. Later, the Death Dollz (Taya Valkyrie/Jessicka) defeated VXT (Chelsea Green/Deonna Purrazzo) to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles for the first time. In addition, Digital Media Champion Brian Myers, Tag Team Champions OGK, Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace and World Champion Josh Alexander retained their titles. Opinion: Bound For Glory is the kind of show that often sees a lot of changes so only two title cha..

Bound For Glory 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

I know Impact Wrestling might not be at the top of everyone’s hit list at the moment but the company does have a long history of important shows and big moments. This show is the biggest thing that they offer and we should be in for a special night as a result. The build has gone well and there are some promising matches on here so if they can live up to the hype, we could be in for a lot of fun. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Digital Media Title: Brian Myers(c) vs. ??? I’m glad to be getting this out of the way early as there is no way of knowing how this is going to go. It’s a mystery opponent/open challenge deal because we haven’t had one of those in at least 14 seconds. This could be almost anyone and while that is interesting, there is only so much to be had out of a Kickoff Show match for the lower midcard title, even with the entertaining Myers involved. We’ll go with Myers to….lose here, as a title change like this one would be a nice way to get the night started. As for who take..

Impact Wrestling Results – October 6, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: October 6, 2022 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the go home show for Bound For Glory, which is tomorrow for whatever reason they have come up with this time. That is one of those things that is always a little weird and I can’t quite get into the idea here either. The good thing is that the card is already set so we should be in for the hard sell this time around. Let’s get to it. In Memory of Antonio Inoki. Opening recap. Kenny King vs. Frankie Kazarian They fight over a lockup to start and go long enough that it has to be broken up in the corner. Some armdrags take King down but it’s way too early for the chickenwing, meaning Kazarian has to settle for a hammerlock. The Royal Flush is countered as well and Kazarian takes him down with a clotheslines. That just earns him a dropkick out to the floor, followed by the springboard spinning legdrop to give King two back inside. The seated abdominal..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 29, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 29, 2022 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We are done with Victory Road and that means we are only a little over a week away from Bound For Glory. I’m still not sure why Victory Road was such a necessary show before the biggest night of the year but at least it wasn’t an eventful night, meaning Bound For Glory got even more build. Hopefully that can continue tonight so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Bullet Club vs. Trey Miguel/Laredo Kid It’s Ace Austin/Chris Bey for the Club, with Juice Robinson in their corner. Austin and Kid start things off with an exchange of wristlocks but hold on as Austin needs to hold up Too Sweet. A quick high crossbody gives Kid an early two so it’s Bey offering a distraction so Austin can take over on the arm. Bey comes in with a backbreaker as we hear about his album coming out around Halloween. Kid slips away and hands it off to Miguel to fire off kicks at Bey..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 22, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 22, 2022 Location: The Factory, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s the go home show for Victory Road, which means we are about a month away from Bound For Glory. Victory Road is being treated as a pretty big deal so it would make sense to have a good go home show. This week does feature a pretty big showdown with Aussie Open vs. the Motor City Machine Guns. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Digital Media Title: Bhupinder Gujjar vs. Brian Myers Myers is defending in a ladder match. Gujjar slugs away to start and hits a jumping knee to the face. A Samoan drop looks to set up the Gargoyle spear but Myers knees him out of the way. The first ladder is brought in but Gujjar dropkicks it into his face. Myers knocks him outside though and goes up for the title, only to be pulled down into a cutter. Now the Gargoyle spear can send Myers into the ladder but the climb takes too long, as usual. The ladder is knocked into Gujjar and it..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 15, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: September 15, 2022 Location: The Factory, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan We’re rapidly approaching Victory Road and then Bound For Glory, meaning some of the shows’ major matches have already been announced. With some of the bigger shows on the way, it would make sense to give them that much extra attention. There’s a good chance of getting some more added to the cards this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. X-Division Title: Mascara Dorada vs. Mike Bailey Bailey is defending. They trade armdrags to start before both block one at the same time. An exchange of countered hurricanranas gives them a standoff and they chop it out until Bailey is knocked to the floor. The slingshot dive misses and Dorada wins a chop off outside. Back in and a suicide dive drops Bailey, setting up a missed top rope double stomp back inside. Bailey pulls him into a kneebar but Dorada is in the ropes rather quickly. The running twisting shooting star g..
