Injured Former Champion Returns To Action On Saturday

Welcome home. There’s something very cool when a wrestler returns from an injury. You get to see them for the first time after what could be a long or short layoff and the question becomes how fast they can get back to where they were before. Or perhaps they’re even better this time around. Either way, it’s a fun thing to see and it was on display Saturday night. According to PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com, Luke Harper returned to the ring from an injury in his hometown of Rochester, New York on Saturday night, defeating Mojo Rawley. This is Harper’s first match since October 1 due to wrist surgery that has caused him to miss several months. There is no word on when Harper may return to television or which show it may be on. Maybe a reunion is in order. Check out Harper’s time as a Bludgeon Brother: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It’s nice to have Harper back, though with Rowan working with Daniel Bryan, I’m not sure what it’s going to mean. Maybe he can ..

Hell In A Cell Kickoff Show Match Announced

Switch em up. With Hell In A Cell coming up this Sunday night, the card is entirely set up by now. We know all eight matches announced so far (though there’s always the chance that more could be added), including a variety of title matches. Obviously these are more important than most, but WWE felt that one of them wasn’t quite important enough to make the regular show. As announced on WWE.com, the SmackDown Tag Team Title match will now serve as the Kickoff Show match as the New Day will defend their titles against Rusev Day. Rusev Day earned their shot by defeating the Bar to win a short tournament for the #1 contendership. New Day has held the titles since last month, when they defeated the Bludgeon Brothers to win the titles on SmackDown Live. A reminder of how we got here: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Works for me and it’s not like this match is anything serious in the first place. Rusev Day has turned into a popular act but we’re about five months remov..

Some Big Matches And Names Already Announced For SmackDown Live #1000

Nineteen years is a long time. Back in August 1999, SmackDown debuted as the official second show of WWE, replacing Sunday Night Heat as the second major television program. The show is still going strong in 2018 and next year it will be moving to the FOX Network to really turn it into something special. It’s also coming up on a big time milestone and it looks like WWE is pulling out all the stops. According to the Capital One Center’s website, the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live will be taking place at the arena October 16. The arena has also announced three matches and a host of names making appearances. Already announced for the show are AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe in a WWE Championship match (neither is designated as champion), Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz and Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy. Also announced as appearing are the Undertaker, Shinsuke Nakamura, the Bludgeon Brothers and Carmella. Check out how Raw 1000 started out. SmackDown Tag Team Title Match Set For Money In The Bank

You can pad it out with some bludgeoning. Back at WrestleMania 34, the Bludgeon Brothers won the Smackdown Tag Team Titles in a triple threat match by defeating the defending Usos and fellow challenges the New Day. Since then the Brothers have defeated the Usos again, meaning it’s time for some fresh challengers. Those challengers were set up this week on SmackDown Live. On this week’s episode, Anderson and Gallows defeated the Usos to become the new #1 contenders for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles with their shot taking place at Money in the Bank next month. Anderson and Gallows are former Raw Tag Team Champions and were brought over to the SmackDown Live Roster in the Superstar Shakeup last month. This was the team’s first regular tag match as part of their new brand. Check out what Anderson and Gallows had to say after their big win. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Works for me. At the end of the day you can only do the Bludgeon Brothers vs. the Usos so many ti..

Here Is Why SAnitY Haven’t Debuted on SmackDown Live Yet

Ringside News has an article up to explain why SmackDown Live stable SAnitY hasn’t made their debut on the blue brand yet. SAnitY SAnitY was announced to be getting their call-up from NXT during the Superstar Shake-Up the week after WrestleMania 34. Over a month on and we will haven’t seen them debut for the blue brand. So why is that? Bryan Alvarez spoke briefly during Wrestling Observer Live about why the faction has likely not made their debut yet. Here is what he had to say: “I’d like for them to be there soon. But they did the Superstar Shake-Up and a lot of names came up so it’s better to slowly bring some of them in instead of just throwing them all on tv at the same time and having people lost in the shuffle like Bobby Lashley.” If that is the case, it is likely WWE is waiting to capitalize on the faction when the time is right. One idea we’ve seen that has been speculated as a possible debut feud against The Bludgeon Brothers. This comes as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions..
