Yes or no? With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it is easy for a wrestler to get a bit lost in the shuffle. Someone can be off of television for a bit and almost be forgotten, which can make for some tricky situations. That can happen at almost anytime and it seems to be the case again with another star, but now they are disagreeing with reports about her status with the company. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Go Faster: WWE Money In The Bank Allegedly Almost Shut Down By Governor Of Connecticut Alexa Bliss has not wrestled since the Royal Rumble on January 28. According to both PWInsider.com and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bliss is on a hiatus from WWE, with PWInsider reporting that Bliss was not factored into the company’s plans after the Royal Rumble. Bliss has since responded to the reports, saying that she is not on hiatus and “they know where they can find me.” She also said that “you only see what parts of life I want you to see.” There is no word on when Bliss will return..
It’s a gig. WrestleMania has evolved so much over the years that it is almost nothing like what it was when it first started. The show has gone from little more than a really souped up live event to a stadium filling event that takes place over two nights. Things have gotten so much bigger that it needs someone to keep track of them all, which is what we will have again this year. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Monster Fight: New Match Officially Set For WrestleMania 39 This week on Monday Night Raw, the Miz was announced as the host of WrestleMania 39. The announcement came via the envelope that Miz’s wife Maryse gave him last week. After making the announcement, Miz was attacked by Seth Rollins and left laying. WrestleMania has had a host for the last several years, with names such as Hulk Hogan, Alexa Bliss, Bayley and the New Day serving in the role. It is a tradition. Check out what the hosts have done over the years: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vid..
She’ll be back in a bit. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. Occasionally you will see someone written off television for one reason or another and it can help make things that much better for them when they get back. Now another WWE star is taking a break from WWE television after an interesting story. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Long Time Tag Team Violently Splits On NXT Back at the Royal Rumble, Alexa Bliss lost in her attempt to win the Raw Women’s Title from Bianca Belair. Following the loss, Uncle Howdy appeared and asked Bliss if she felt “in charge”. According to PW Insider Elite, Bliss is taking a break from WWE TV and there is no word on when she will be returning. There is nothing to suggest that Bliss is injured or has anything else wrong. Bliss is great while she is around. Check out what she can do in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play]..
It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of events on WWE’s calendar every year, as the company runs its shows all over the country. Some of them are not held in front of television cameras and are just there for the live fans in attendance. That can make for some special moments, but a recent show was memorable for some rather negative reasons. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Could Be Awhile: Missing AEW Star Addresses Absence From Company This past Monday, WWE ran a pair of live events on the same night, with one show taking place in New York City while the other was held in Columbus, Ohio. However, according to PWInsider.com, several stars missed the Columbus event due to travel issues. Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Bobby Lashley and Alexa Bliss all missed the show. In addition, according to Fightful Select, several other talents were late to the event. The show’s main event had to be changed from Rollins vs. Austin Theory to Theory vs. Damian Priest vs. Johnny Gargano for the US Title. ..
Monday Night Raw Date: December 12, 2022 Location: Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We are crawling towards the Royal Rumble and it seems like the build has been put on the back burner for at least a few more weeks. This time around the main focal point is finding a new #1 contender for the United States Title as Bobby Lashley faces Seth Rollins in what should be a good one. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss For the #1 contendership to Bianca Belair and the rest of Damage Ctrl is here with Bayley. Not that it matters as here is Becky Lynch to beat up Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai and chase them out of the arena with a chair, leaving it one on one. Cue Bianca Belair to watch from ringside. Bliss starts fast and knocks Bayley outside, where it’s time for a breather. Back in and Bayley gets smart by stomping on the foot, earning herself a running crossbody. Bayley manages to knock her outside again though and we take a break...
She might need a change. There are different ways to present almost any wrestler. Sometimes a wrestler needs an adjustment to make things go that much better for them. That adjustment might be something brand new or something that they have done before. A WWE star is now suggesting that they might be returning to a previous gimmick that they have used before, but not in this company. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Excuses? Here Is The Surprising Reason Miro Has Been Missing From AEW TV The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Alexa Bliss defeat Asuka and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match to advance to next week’s #1 contenders match. Following the loss, Asuka posted a string of tweets, showing her in clown makeup, which she used during her time as Kana in Japan. Asuka also said that she did not want respect, but was going to go listen to the new Metallica song and go to bed. pic.twitter.com/Xd99IleI82 — ASUKA / ??? That might be a sign. With so many wrestlers around in WWE and so much television to film, it can be easy for a wrestler to begin feeling stale. In those cases, it makes sense for something to be changed, including a wrestler going from good to evil or vice versa. Sometimes those changes can be easier to spot than others and that might have been the case this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not Full Strength: WWE Star Very Sick, Lost 15lbs In Last Week And A Half This week on Monday Night Raw, Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss were in the back talking when Bray Wyatt’s symbol popped up on a monitor behind them. Bliss seemed distracted and would not stop looking at Belair’s Raw Women’s Title. Eventually when Bliss was asked a question about Becky Lynch joining their WarGames team, she snapped back to reality and answered, albeit halfheartedly. This latest incident involving Bliss and Wyatt’s symbol have led to speculation about an upcoming heel turn. ? ?#WWERAW pic.twitter.com/Piq1Gw..
Survivor Series 2022 Date: November 26, 2022 Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Wade Barrett It’s time for WarGames and no that still doesn’t feel right to say. We have a men’s and women’s version of the match here and that should make for a great core of the show. There are only five matches on the card but double WarGames is probably enough to carry things, especially with the Bloodline vs. Team Drew McIntyre as the likely headliner. Let’s get to it. The opening video is a five minute Ozzy Osborne music video, with Ozzy saying Welcome To WarGames at the end. Team Belair vs. Team Damage Ctrl Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Mia Yim Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, Nikki Cross If you’re not familiar, we have two teams of five, with each team sending in a person for dive minutes. After that, the team who won the advantage coming into the match (Damage Ctrl in this case) will send in its second w..
They might be on to something. We are less than a week away from WWE Survivor Series, which will feature a pair of WarGames matches. There will be a men’s and women’s edition of the match, with the former having a completely set lineup. The women’s match still has a single spot to be filled and it is not clear who will take the slot. However, some fans certainly have a theory. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Surprise Name Completes Men’s WarGames Match On SmackDown As of Monday morning, the lineup for the women’s WarGames match features Damage Ctrl, Rhea Ripley and Nikki Cross facing Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and another wrestler to be named. This is the lineup featured on the graphic for the match, with a hooded figure filling in the last spot. The image shows blue hair sticking out of the hood, leading to fan speculation that Sasha Banks will be returning for WarGames. This is not confirmed and is only a fan theory at the moment. Banks has been away from WWE since Ma..
Alexa Bliss is one of the most marketable stars that WWE has under contract, which often means a crazy schedule that keeps her away from home for significant stretches of time. Anyone with pets will tell you how hard it is to leave them for an extended period of time. The five-time WWE Women’s Champion just went more than 20 days being home. RingSideNews followed the story of her day on social media. The story goes that she went home for a “visit” and could only stay for about 8 hours. However, her dogs were so happy to see her after basically three weeks away that Alexa Bliss suffered a bloody lip in all the excitement. Potentially sensitive photo is below: Get home – dogs are so excited that they split my lip… fantastic pic.twitter.com/6NmIcHjkOj — Lexi (Kaufman) Cabrera (@AlexaBliss_WWE) November 18, 2022 It’s not anything that will keep her out of the ring, but we’ve all gotten a happy scratch or love bite from our pets, especially after some time apart. It’s just a testament ..
It’s a look. There are a lot of things that come together to make a wrestler into a complete star. In addition to everything that takes place in the ring and on the microphone, there is also the physical aspect. A wrestler has to do something to catch a viewer’s eye and the look is often the best way. Changing a look can be a big deal and now we are seeing a WWE star do so again. Last weekend at WWE Crown Jewel, Alexa Bliss and Asuka lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles to Damage Ctrl. Following the event, Bliss posted a photo of herself with all pink hair, as opposed to the blonde hair she sported at Crown Jewel. It is not clear when the photo was taken, as Bliss was back to the blonde hair on Monday Night Raw. Bliss has also been announced for the first WWE women’s WarGames match coming up at Survivor Series. ? pic.twitter.com/2MChWVPBgD — Lexi (Kaufman) Cabrera (@AlexaBliss_WWE) November 6, 2022 Opinion: This is the kind of change that can shake things up quite a bit for Bliss, as t..
Lock them in. We are coming up on Survivor Series and this year’s edition is going to be a little bit different. For the first time, we are going to be seeing WarGames make its main roster debut in WWE. There will be two matches on the show with a men’s and women’s match taking place on the show. Now we have a good idea of what one of the matches is going to be. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced most of the women’s WarGames match. Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss challenged Damage Ctrl to compete in the match, with Damage Ctrl accepting. Nikki Cross became the fourth member of Team Damage Ctrl, with one more member to go. Belair and company still have two teammates to be announced. Survivor Series takes place on Saturday November 26. Opinion: As an old WCW fan, it feels so strange to see WarGames in WWE but now we are several major steps towards it actually happening. Just having the matches announced was one thing but now we are seeing the participants getting ready t..
That’s a big change. There are a lot of titles in WWE and one of them changing hands can make a huge difference to both the company and the wrestlers’ future. Even a short title reign ending can mean a lot and it is always noteworthy when someone wins a championship. That was the case this weekend as a title change hands not long after it was won in the first place. Over the weekend, WWE presented its Crown Jewel 2022 event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the second match on the show, Damage Ctrl defeated Asuka and Alexa Bliss to regain the Women’s Tag Team Titles. The title change came after interference from Nikki Cross and ended Asuka and Bliss’ reign after five days. This was the only title change to take place during the show. Opinion: This is the kind of title change that makes Crown Jewel feel important but at the same time doesn’t change much of anything. The titles are right back where they were coming into this week’s Monday Night Raw and that makes things feel a bit less imp..
It’s time to go overseas again with the latest WWE in Saudi Arabia endeavor. As usual, the show doesn’t have the best reputation but this one does feel a bit different. Instead of some weird special show with some one off gimmick or competition, it feels like a regular pay per view which happens to take place in Saudi Arabia. Now if only they can make it work well. Let’s get to it. Women’s Tag Team Titles: Asuka/Alexa Bliss(c) vs. Damage Ctrl This was a last minute addition as Damage Ctrl dropped the titles to the returning Asuka and Bliss this week on Raw. I’m not sure how much of a chance there is to have the titles change back here, but it is the kind of thing that could be set up for a short title reign to give the show a moment. The Saudi Arabia shows do need to feel more important and a title change, even of a minor title, would help with that. However, I think I’ll go with the titles being successfully defended here as Asuka and Bliss coming back on Monday to win the titles an..
That looked a bit more serious. Wrestlers have a lot to take care of in any given match, with their fellow stars’ safety at the top of the list. It means everything to keep your opponents safe but there is always the chance that things can go wrong in the blink of an eye. That might have happened earlier this week, as one star did not seem happy with what was going on in her match. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Alexa Bliss and Asuka defeat Damage Ctrl to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. During the match, Iyo Sky kicked Bliss in the back of the head, resulting in Bliss firing off some much more aggressive than usual punches. While not confirmed, this seemed to be a genuine physical reaction from Bliss as she may have been angry over the kick. There is nothing to suggest anything happened or was said between the two backstage before or after the match. It got serious quickly. Check out the exchange between Bliss and Sky: [This post contains video, click to pla..
Put it on the list. We are less than a week away from Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 5. The show will be one of the biggest that WWE will present this year and that means WWE will be wanting to boost the card up as much as possible. That is what they will be doing again as they have added another title match, this one a rematch from a recent title change. This week on NXT, it was announced that new Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Asuka will defend their titles against Damage Ctrl’s Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai. Bliss and Asuka defeated Damage Ctrl to win the titles earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, meaning the Crown Jewel title match will be their first defense. This is the fourth title match announced for the show. Opinion: This is a nice match to add to the card and spice it up a bit, as anything involving a title is going to feel important. The titles having just changed hands in the first place earlier in the week means it is going to have a story built in so e..
They’re back. With so many people on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. That means there can be issues with finding something for someone to do, but occasionally they are going to slip through the cracks. This can occasionally include wrestlers not being around for a long time, but now two missing stars have made a surprise return. Alexa Bliss and Asuka made surprise returns this week on Monday Night Raw, saving Bianca Belair from a beatdown at the hands of Damage Ctrl. The team would challenge Damage Ctrl to a Women’s Tag Team Title match later in the night and go on to win the championships. This was their first appearance since the October 3 edition of Monday Night Raw, when Damage Ctrl injured Asuka. During Asuka’s time away, Bliss had wrestled on live events but not on television. Opinion: It’s good to see the two of them back, as their absence was notable on Monday Night Raw. Throw in them winning the titles and it was quite the night for the team, w..
