Her Take: Charlotte Explains Why WWE Should Not Unify Titles

That does make sense. Titles are some of the most important parts of any wrestling promotion. They can drive any storyline and identify the wrestlers that the promotion wants to present. A title changing hands can make a huge difference for both a wrestler and the company as a whole, but it can mean even more when one of them goes away. One of the top WWE stars is now explaining why that is a bad thing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Naomi And Mercedes Mone Appear Together In New Advertisement SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte was interviewed by the Daytona Beach News-Journal and talked about the possibility of unifying the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles. Charlotte said that she was not in favor of unifying the titles, as while it can be special for one woman to have both titles at once, it takes away opportunities for the women. Charlotte is currently scheduled to defend her title against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. There have been some big title unifications. Check out som..

Kurt Angle Almost Drowned On Recent Vacation

That’s not good. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently told a story on his podcast on AdFreeShows.com, about how he almost drowned on a recent vacation to Florida. Angle said the following: “We went to Miami, Florida,” Angle said. “The temperature was 80 degrees. We spent so much time on the beach. They had a wonderful pool at the hotel. It was a blast. I actually took my kids jet skiing. My first kid that I put on the back for me to ride them because they’re too young to drive themselves, I put her on the back and we went out, and when I went to make a turn, I slowed down and stopped, I wanted to make a turn and I didn’t put the accelerator on when I was turning and we flipped over. We went into the ocean.” “Now, Thank God my daughter is like an Olympic-caliber swimmer. I even had the safety vest on me, but it wasn’t working. I was still sinking. I can’t swim. So I’m in trouble. I couldn’t get above water. I was going under. My daughter kept her composure. The jet ski got away from..

Good News: Wrestling Legend’s Health Reportedly Improves After Rough Patch

That’s an improvement. While they are not always credited as such, wrestlers are very talented athletes who regularly get in the ring and put their bodies on the line. There are always going to be risks involved with wrestling and some of the problems do not show up until after a wrestler’s career is over. That is the case with an all time legend, but things might be doing a bit better. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: To The Other Side: WWE Twitter Fans Gush Over Possible Upcoming Heel Turn Earlier this year, reports began to surface that Hulk Hogan was undergoing health issues, mainly related to his back. During a recent edition of his To Be The Man podcast, Ric Flair revealed that he had been in contact with Hogan, whose back is said to be doing much better. Hogan still regularly appears at his Florida beach shops and in commercials for the stores. These are two legends. KB’s Review: It Makes Summerslam Sense

Last fall, the family went down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (I didn’t have much of a choice so spare me the “why there” questions) for a vacation. It wasn’t my thing, but at one point I did head out and find a bookstore to pass some time. The store was adjacent to a local mall where I thought they might sell playing cards (one of my other passions, with a current collection of 923 decks (27 wrestling) and counting). Inside the mall I found….very little, as the place was mostly dead. One thing I did find though was an old school arcade inside a comic book store, with a ton of arcade cabinets and a row of pinball machines, including the old WWF Royal Rumble game. Each play was a quarter each so I ran through at least five bucks and had one of the best days of the entire trip there on my own. So what does this have to do with wrestling? Heck if I know, but what does pinball have to do with Summerslam? That’s something that has been bothering me about the build to this year’s Summer..

WATCH: The Outsiders vs. Lex Luger, Sting & Randy Savage From WCW Bash at the Beach 1996

New, New, New World Order. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel showing the full match between The Outsiders vs. Lex Luger, Sting & Randy Savage from WCW Bash at the Beach 1996. This marked the beginning of Hulk Hogan’s heel turn and the formation of the nWo. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From our own Thomas Hall: The Outsiders, coming to the ring to some generic music (probably for the only time ever in a bit of trivia that no one ever wondered about), have no third man to crank the drama up even higher. Before Team WCW comes out, here is Gene Okerlund to ask the Outsiders what is up. They confirm that the third man is here but they can handle it themselves for now. Tony: “THEN COME OUT HERE AND KICK THEIR TEETH IN RIGHT NOW!!!” Team WCW is all painted up together for a nice touch. Luger starts with….the yet-to-be-named Scott Hall (“This Outsider” according to Tony) and takes him into the corner where Sting tr..

REVIEW: Bash At The Beach 2000: That Part Is Real

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Bash at the Beach 2000 Date: July 9, 2000 Location: Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida Attendance: 6,572 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson, Mark Madden Oh boy. After all those nice weeks of no Russo and/or Bischoff to screw things up, tonight we’re back to the old ways because this wrestling and storytelling stuff must be stopped at all costs. It’s a double main event of Goldberg vs. Kevin Nash for Scott Hall’s contract and Hulk Hogan challenging Jeff Jarrett for the World Title. Let’s get to it. Cat s..

WWE Hall Of Famer Arrested, Facing 30 Years In Prison

That is not a good way to go. There are a lot of names that have come up throughout the history of wrestling and some of them are rather famous. Unfortunately, some of them are more infamous than famous, often for things that are not exactly positive. That is the case with a certain WWE Hall of Famer and now things have gotten a lot worse than they were just a few months ago. Back in March, WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch was involved in a car accident that killed a man in Ormond Beach, Florida. According to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been arrested and is facing nine charges, including DUI Manslaughter, driving with a suspended or revoked license and seven counts of DUI causing damage to a person or property. The DUI Manslaughter charge carries a potential thirty year prison sentence with a four year minimum and up to $10,000 in fines. In addition, also according to PWInsider.com, Sytch has been bailed out of jail and is currently free. Tammy Sytch mugshot released by Volusia County, Flo..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – January 26, 2022

Dynamite Date: January 26, 2022 Location: Wolstein Center, Cleveland, Ohio Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone It’s time for Beach Break, which is in Cleveland because when you think of going to the beach, you think of a place that is currently 12 degrees and on a lake. This week’s show is stacked, with a ladder match for the TNT Title and a Lights Out match where Orange Cassidy can beat Adam Cole but it doesn’t count. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. TNT Title: Cody Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara Ladder match for the undisputed title. Cody starts fast with a dropkick and goes for the drop town uppercut, only to get blocked. The technical wrestling ensues until they head outside with Cody grabbing the ladder. That’s broken up so they head into the crowd (with Cody having to check on a fan he bumps into). Cody wins a slugout but stops to high five the fans, allowing Sammy to dive over the barricade with a cutter. Back in and Sammy loads up the ladder but Cody is fine enoug..

REVIEW: California Championship Wrestling – August 6, 1986: And You Thought Raw Was Bad

California Championship Wrestling Date: August 6, 1986 Location: Fender’s Ballroom, Long Beach, California Commentator: Barry Richards Oh boy I’ve been wanting to check this one out for a long time. California Championship Wrestling is, as you might have guessed, a territory from back in the mid 1980s. What sets it apart is that it is apparently the worst wrestling territory that anyone has ever seen. I’ve seen quite a few bad territories in my day and I’m curious to see what they have. Let’s get to it. I know NO..

That’s A Real Hero: Former WWE Star Al Snow Saves Young Boy’s Life

A different kind of hero. Wrestlers often play heroes on television but that does not always mean it is the case outside of the ring. You do have some good people in the wrestling industry though, many of whom have done some awesome things to help people when they need it. That was the case again this week, in something that was about as important as it gets. According to TMZ, former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Al Snow saved a young boy in Destin, Florida from an ocean riptide. Snow was at the beach and heard a boy screaming as the water pulled him away. Since the lifeguard was too far away, Snow ran and saved the boy before another tide pulled him out. Neither Snow nor the boy suffered any injuries in the incident. Snow said that had he now gotten there when he did, the boy would have been pulled out to sea. Snow has done some good things in wrestling as well. Check out some of his moments: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [T..

Ronda Rousey Takes Shot At WWE Fans Following Bray Wyatt’s Release

The baddest woman on the planet isn’t pleased. Former WWE and UFC superstar Ronda Rousey recently took to Twitter to direct some comments towards the WWE Universe following the shocking release of Bray Wyatt earlier this week. Rousey referenced several chants that were made during Raw last evening, which emanated from Chicago: “I’ve seen you same “fans” chanting #WeWantWyatt last night chanting “We want beach balls” over @WWEBrayWyatt performing. If the @wwe treated him like he was expendable it was because you ungrateful idiots did first” I’ve seen you same “fans” chanting #WeWantWyatt last night chanting “We want beach balls” over @WWEBrayWyatt performing. If the @wwe treated him like he was expendable it was because you ungrateful idiots did first — Ronda Rousey (@RondaRousey) August 3, 2021 Rousey last wrestled for WWE in 2019, when she headlined WrestleMania 35 with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Lynch would end up winning both the Raw and Smackdown women’s championships du..

REVIEW: Bash At The Beach 1997: Celebrity Edition

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Bash at the Beach 1997 Date: July 13, 1997 Location: Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida Attendance: 7,851 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, Dusty Rhodes It’s 1997 and the unofficial anniversary of the NWO being formed. This was in that weird period for WCW as everything was setting up for Sting vs. Hogan, but at the same time it took forever to get there because we waited 9 months between Sting’s moment of showing he was WCW and the actual match. The main event here is Luger/Giant vs. Hogan/Rodman. As ..

REVIEW: Bash At The Beach 1996: The Turning Point

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Bash at the Beach 1996 Date: July 7, 1996 Location: Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, Florida Attendance: 8,300 Commentators: Bobby Heenan, Tony Schiavone, Dusty Rhodes This is one of the first non-WWE reviews I ever did so it is LONG overdue for a second try. I’m pretty sure you know this one, as it is built around the question of who is the third man. The Outsiders arrived about a month and a half ago and are now ready for their first match, but they need a partner. Now who is that going to be? Let’s get to it. I do mi..

Dynamite Date: July 7, 2021 Location: James L. Knight Center, Miami, Florida Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur We’re officially back on the road and that means there are fresh fans in attendance. That is certainly a good thing and something that did not feel possible over the last year plus. First up we have Road Rager, featuring the Tag Team Titles on the line, a strap match and the debut of Andrade El Idolo. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall South Beach Strap Match with the four corner version. Cody dives on him before the bell and the fight is on with Cody pulling Marshall into the ropes. We look at various UFC fighters at ringside as Marshall gets in a shot to the ribs. A moonsault only designed to get knocked out of the air gets knocked out of the air and Cody hits a few buckles. Aaron Solow breaks it up but Dustin Rhodes fights him into the crowd to get rid of one goon. Nick Comoroto follows and Cody gets three buckles, only to get..

WWE Running Special Week Of Anniversary Programming

They’re worth another look. There have been some amazing moments in wrestling history but only some are still going to be remembered decades later. The week will include new NWO programming on Peacock/WWE Network, including: The Best Of The NWO (Tuesday) X-Pac on The Bump (Wednesday) Kevin Nash on Broken Skull Sessions (Sunday) NWO week coincides with the debut of the NWO on July 7, 1996, when Hulk Hogan turned on WCW and became Hollywood Hogan at Bash At The Beach 1996. REVIEW: Bash At The Beach 1998: Summertime Not So Blues

Bash at the Beach 1998 Date: July 12, 1998 Location: Cox Arena, San Diego, California Attendance: 10,095 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, Bobby Heenan Tonight is all about the celebrities as the main event is DDP/Karl Malone vs. Hollywood Hogan/Dennis Rodman. We’ve also got football player Kevin Greene vs. the Giant in what was supposed to be a tag match. Their original partners are in a world title match as new champion Goldberg defends against Curt Hennig. The midcard matches should be solid, meaning this has potential to be something good. Let’s get to it. The opening video focuses on the three major matches tonight with some shots of the beach cut in as well. The set is the usual intricate beach setting with sand, lifeguard towers and beach balls. The announcers wearing hula shirts is a nice touch as well. We get an intro from the announcers, bragging about all the media attention the show has been getting. Nothing wrong with that. Gene, in a white tuxedo, hypes up t..

Breaking: Shad Gaspard’s Body Found Near Venice Beach

We have some sad news to report this morning as former WWE superstar, Shad Gaspard, has passed away at the age of 39. This is after his body went missing a few days ago while he was swimming with his son. According to multiple reports, The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed his death. This has also been confirmed by the Los Angeles County Fire Department via Twitter: BREAKING: @LACoLifeguards confirm body found washed up on Venice Beach this morning matches that of WWE star Shad Gaspard, who went missing Sunday afternoon. @CBSLA pic.twitter.com/i1RuITRJCu — Tina Patel (@tina_patel) May 20, 2020 He was swimming with his 10-year-old son, Aryeh, when they and several other swimmers were caught in a strong rip current near Venice Beach. “When last seen by the lifeguard, a wave had crashed over Mr. Shad Gaspard and he was swept out to sea,” Los Angeles police said in a statement Monday. WWE Comments On Shad Gaspard’s Disappearance

He was part of the family. There have been a lot of people to work for WWE over the years and some were more prominent than others. At one point or another, almost everyone has left WWE, though you never know how positive the terms might be. No matter what happens though, WWE is often willing to put past differences aside in a horrible situation, and that might be what they are doing again. On Sunday, horrible news came out of California involving former WWE wrestler Shad Gaspard. While at the beach with his family, Gaspard’s son got caught in a series of waves. Gaspard went out to help him but had to be rescued himself. Once emergency workers reached him, Gaspard told the first responders to help his son instead. Gaspard’s son was rescued, but Gaspard himself was pulled under a wave and has yet to be found. The Coast Guard has suspended their search but the Los Angeles Police Department is still searching. WWE has since commented on the situation, with both the company and Vince McM..

VIDEO: AEW Couple Shares Some Very Happy News

It’s nice to have something different for a change. With everything going nuts at the moment, there is very little in the way of nice news coming from the world of wrestling. Yes there have still been shows and some matches might be better than others, but it seems that everything is in some kind of a negative light. This time around it’s actually something positive for a change. Relationships in wrestling are hard to pull off. The lives of wrestlers are some of the most complicated things in the world with wrestlers running from one show to the next, often going around the country if not the world in the process. That can make things especially hectic, making it harder and harder to find time for a relationship of any kind. Therefore, relationships in the business can often be the best option. Hence where we are today. AEW’s Penelope Ford and Kip Sabian have both posted videos to their Instagram showing Sabian proposing to Ford, who accepted. The two were on a beach taking a photo f..
