AEW Rampage Results – February 17, 2023

Rampage Date: February 17, 2023 Location: Saves Auto Arena, Laredo, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s a special show this week with the show on at 7pm instead of the usual 10pm due to the NBA coverage. Therefore the show is call Slam Dunk as AEW stacks the card because it might be able to draw a good bit more fans this week. Hopefully that is the case as Rampage hasn’t felt important in a few weeks now. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Elite vs. AR Fox/Top Flight The Elite is defending and since this is Slam Dunk, there are a lot basketballs as props. Dante and Nick start things off by throwing a basketball at each other. Nick hits Matt in the face with the ball by mistake though and the champs are kicked out to the floor early on. Fox dives onto all of them in a pair of dives and then adds a third with a basketball. Back in and Omega grabs a headlock before running Fox over with a shoulder. The basketball comes back in and ..

Miro Explains Why He Has Been Gone From AEW (In His Own Special Way)

That’s a good reason. There are a lot of talented stars on the AEW roster, which can create the problem of finding something for everyone to do. While there are all kinds of stars in the company, not everyone gets to appear very often. It can be notable when someone is gone so often and now one AEW star is addressing why he has not been around very often as of late. A fan on Twitter recently pointed out that Miro has not wrestled on AEW Dynamite in over three months. Miro responded to the fan, saying that he has been gone because “nobody has the balls”. This comes after Miro has not wrestled since All Out on September 4. This was his first match since June 26 and one of only four matches that he has wrestled this year. Miro was out of action due to an injury most of the first half of the year. Nobody has the balls https://t.co/TtiAHjEkAR — Miro (@ToBeMiro) September 28, 2022 Opinion: Miro continues to be one of those “where is he” guys in AEW and there are more than one of them. Th..

Impact Wrestling Results – January 13, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: January 13, 2022 Location: Bomb Factory, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Tom Hannifan, D’Lo Brown We are fresh off the outstanding Hard To Kill, which was one of the best shows that Impact has ever done. In addition to some great matches, a group of former Ring of Honor wrestlers invaded the show, which feels like it could be the start of something very good. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at all of the matches from Hard To Kill, plus the invasion, albeit not in order. A furious W. Morrissey arrives and wants Moose. Morrissey comes into the arena and calls Moose out. He had Moose beaten for a ten count at Hard To Kill, even though Moose practically stole his World Title. Just once, have the balls to face someone man to man. Moose can come out here or look over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Instead, Moose pops up on screen to say Morrissey didn’t have him beaten. There will be a World Title match tonight but Morrissey won’t be in it. Instead, he..

WATCH: AEW Star Makes Surprise Appearance, Wins World Title

He gets around. AEW has been a huge game changer to the wrestling world over the last few years as it has offered a new mainstream level wrestling promotion. You have not seem something like this in years, but AEW wrestlers are not exclusive to the company. They are able to go elsewhere and make appearances, which can offer some interesting situations. That was the case again this weekend. AEW’s Jon Moxley appeared at Saturday’s Game Changer Wrestling event where he defeated Matt Cardona to win the promotion’s World Title. After the match, Nick Gage came to the ring to confront Moxley. Later that night, a match between Moxley and Gage was announced for October 9 in Atlantic City. The two have been teasing a match against each other for several months now. MOX HAS THE BELT! Ronda Rousey Takes Shot At WWE Fans Following Bray Wyatt’s Release

The baddest woman on the planet isn’t pleased. Former WWE and UFC superstar Ronda Rousey recently took to Twitter to direct some comments towards the WWE Universe following the shocking release of Bray Wyatt earlier this week. Rousey referenced several chants that were made during Raw last evening, which emanated from Chicago: “I’ve seen you same “fans” chanting #WeWantWyatt last night chanting “We want beach balls” over @WWEBrayWyatt performing. If the @wwe treated him like he was expendable it was because you ungrateful idiots did first” I’ve seen you same “fans” chanting #WeWantWyatt last night chanting “We want beach balls” over @WWEBrayWyatt performing. If the @wwe treated him like he was expendable it was because you ungrateful idiots did first — Ronda Rousey (@RondaRousey) August 3, 2021 Rousey last wrestled for WWE in 2019, when she headlined WrestleMania 35 with Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Lynch would end up winning both the Raw and Smackdown women’s championships du..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – July 28, 2021

Dynamite Date: July 28, 2021 Location: Bojangles Coliseum, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone It’s another huge show with Fight For The Fallen. The card is stacked again, including the IWGP US Title, the ten man elimination match, and the mainstream debut of Nick Gage. The latter is going to get the most attention for the sake of freak show appeal, which may or may not be a disaster. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Commentary runs down the card. We get a video on what it means to be a cowboy, which seems to mean being loyal to your friends and ready to fight. Elite vs. Dark Order/Hangman Page Omega and company looked scared of facing Page, the Elite has a full on Space Jam theme, complete with music, basketballs and Elite Squad jerseys in a sponsored entrance. Anderson and Page start but everything breaks down in a hurry, with a superplex from the top taking down the pile on the floor. Back in and the Good Brothers get caught in the cor..

REVIEW: Great Balls Of Fire: Mediocre Gracious

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Great Balls of Fire Date: July 9, 2017 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Booker T., Corey Graves It’s time for the most oddly named pay per view in a long time and yes they’re actually going to call it this. Brock Lesnar is getting back in the ring for the first time since Wrestlemania to defend the Universal Title against Samoa Joe. This has the potential to be a war and that’s what the title needs. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Cruiserweight Title: Neville vs. Akira Toz..

WATCH: Surprise Cameos Take Place During AEW Stadium Stampede

I remember you. Every now and then, you see a wrestling match which is not quite like the others. There is some kind of big twist or change that makes it feel like nothing else you have seen in a long time. That may or may not be the best move, but it certainly makes things memorable. Such a match took place this weekend and it included a few guest appearances. This weekend, All Elite Wrestling presented its second annual Stadium Stampede match, featuring two teams fighting throughout TIAA Bank Field. The match went all over the stadium and featured a handful of cameos. First, Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Chris Jericho brawled into an office where Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer and assistant coach Charlie Strong were working on plays. Strong tossed Jericho some footballs to throw at Friedman and Meyer was taken aback by Jericho throwing Friedman over a flight of stairs. Later, Santana and Ortiz and FTR brawled in a bad inside the stadium. As they fought, the DJ played some..

VIDEO: WWE Presents 2020 Slammy Awards, All Winners

It’s like a championship! The year is wrapping up and a lot of people are likely rather pleased with that being the case. We are on the way to a new year but that also means that we are looking back on what took place over the course of the year. WWE has had a lot of problems in 2020 but it has also had some good news. Now WWE is rewarding those great things. Back in 1986, WWE introduced the Slammy Awards as a tongue in cheek look back at the best parts of the year. This made for some interesting shows as the awards have been presented on and off over the years. The awards have not been around since 2015, but this is a unique year and that means it is time to bring them out of mothballs, which was done this week. WWE presented the 2020 Slammy Awards on Wednesday with the ceremony airing on the Bump. There were seventeen awards presented during the show, with several guest presenters and R-Truth as the host. These awards only count for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, as NXT has its ow..

REVIEW: Bash At The Beach 1998: Summertime Not So Blues

Bash at the Beach 1998 Date: July 12, 1998 Location: Cox Arena, San Diego, California Attendance: 10,095 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, Bobby Heenan Tonight is all about the celebrities as the main event is DDP/Karl Malone vs. Hollywood Hogan/Dennis Rodman. We’ve also got football player Kevin Greene vs. the Giant in what was supposed to be a tag match. Their original partners are in a world title match as new champion Goldberg defends against Curt Hennig. The midcard matches should be solid, meaning this has potential to be something good. Let’s get to it. The opening video focuses on the three major matches tonight with some shots of the beach cut in as well. The set is the usual intricate beach setting with sand, lifeguard towers and beach balls. The announcers wearing hula shirts is a nice touch as well. We get an intro from the announcers, bragging about all the media attention the show has been getting. Nothing wrong with that. Gene, in a white tuxedo, hypes up t..

They’re Reviving Something. The Revival Just Brought Something Out Of Mothballs.

One more for the wrestling historian. The Revival won the Raw Tag Team Titles a little over a month ago and haven’t exactly done much with them. The idea that the Revival is going to bring some sweeping change to the division has long since been forgotten as they’re barely ever able to work the style of match that made them such successes in the first place. However, they did do one thing right. On Saturday night in Amherst, Massachusetts, the Revival wore the classic design for the Tag Team Titles in a title defense. These belts were used from 1985-2002 and were replaced around the time that the company switched over from WWF to WWE. There is no indication that the classic designs will be made permanent, though such a move was made when Cody Rhodes reintroduced the classic Intercontinental Title. Not saying we're the best, but til they find something better we're here, no fear, write me a letter, til then… Tonight, there’s money to be made at #WWEAmherst. #FTR pic.twitter..

Jeff Hardy Makes His Return To WWE Raw

Jeff Hardy is back on WWE television after missing several months with a shoulder injury. Former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy returned to WWE Raw on the April 9 edition, inserting himself into the WWE Intercontinental Title picture. He came to the aid of both Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, who were outnumbered by The Miztourage during an in-ring segment. Hardy was sidelined back in September, after sustaining an injury at the July Great Balls of Fire Iron Man tag team match. Since then, his brother Matt has been "woken" and embroiled in a feud with Bray Wyatt. It would appear based on the booking of the last two nights, Jeff and Matt are headed their separate ways on WWE TV. Hardy himself is a four-time Intercontinental champion, and quietly among the most decorated pro wrestlers in history, also winning the WWE, World Heavyweight, Hardcore, European, Light Heavyweight, TNA World Heavyweight championships, and winning tag team titles for WWE, Raw, WCW, Ring of Honor and TNA. You can see ..

Cesaro: “I Think Every Person That Brings a Beach Ball Into a WWE Arena Should Get Ejected for Life”

Cesaro was recently interviewed by City Pages to promote WWE’s upcoming show in Minneapolis, Minnesota this Friday. He discussed a number of topics, including Tag Team wrestling, beach balls, his place in the company and more. Below are some questions, along with the “Swiss Superstar’s” answers: CP: You’re a record five-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champion, and before coming to WWE, you were renowned for your work in the indies as a tag team specialist. Why is it that you excel in tag team wrestling specifically? Cesaro: I’m really good, and I bring the best out of every single person in the ring. Especially my tag team partners. CP: How is the mentality different when you’re wrestling in a tag team versus in singles competition? Cesaro: You have to depend on somebody the whole time as well. You can’t be selfish and just worry about yourself because there’s somebody else with you. Of course, it’s an added benefit when you have someone like Sheamus, who is a world-class Superstar, with yo..

Why Brock Lesnar Must Become A Free Agent

<p>Rumours have been circulating this week that <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong> will return to UFC. There is also an accompanying rumour that Lesnar will not resign his contract after Wrestlemania 34. Even if these are simply rumours WWE and Vince McMahon must be scared. Lesnar is sports entertainment’s biggest draw bar none. He is a mega star and a huge asset to the company. However, his career is winding down and there is still infinite value in Lesnar over the next year or two. His value will be used best though if he becomes a free agent and here’s why.</p><h4>More Dream Matches</h4><p><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wp-content/uploads/Samoa-Joe-Brock-Lesnar.jpg"></a></p><p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> vs Brock Lesnar was a legitimate dream match. WWE capitalised on this feud and booked it perfectly from Extreme Rules all the way to Great Balls of Fire. This feud proved Joe to be a superstar and also that Brock Lesnar dream feuds are a necessity. Dream matches with Brock Lesnar create superstars. They give wrestlers a career defining match as well fans exactly what they are desperate for.</p><p>That said, there are not that many dream feuds left for Lesnar on RAW. The only real one is <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/finn-balor" title="Finn Balor">Finn Balor</a></strong> which is as dream worthy as Samoa Joe was. Behind Balor is – at a stretch of the word dream – Bray Wyatt and even Braun Strowman. These feuds must happen in Lesnar’s time left in WWE without a doubt, particularly with Balor. On Smackdown Live however there are more. Three legitimate dream matches face Lesnar on Smackdown Live. Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and of course there is also Shinsuke Nakamura. On a smaller level there is also stars like Corbin and Zayn who would likely be excellent opponents for Lesnar.</p><p>Heyman can simply announce the Beast Incarnate will do what he wants and go where he wants. This opens the door for so many feuds and matches that WWE must capitalise on. Especially now that Lesnar is likely in the very end of his WWE career. With Lesnar fighting only a limited number of times a year, now is the time to do this. If not for the wrestlers opposite Lesnar, then for us the fans.</p>

The Taz Show Recap – NXT Analysis, Kurt Angle Documentary, Where Does Strowman Go From Here? More!

<h1>Blocks 1 & 2:</h1><p>Taz opens today’s show by speaking about the second of four straight press conferences, promoting the upcoming boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. He calls these press conferences riveting entertainment, but if they continue to do the exact same thing it’s going to get old rather quickly. He believes that these two are going to have to get physical at the last press conference, just to give the fans something to hold onto as they build towards the fight in August.</p><p>A listener calls into the show and says that he wishes WWE would just turn Roman Reigns heel, and he believes that even Reigns wants to turn heel at this point. Taz agrees with the caller, and says that for the longest time he thought Reigns was determined to get over as a babyface, but as of late it sure seems like Reigns has embraced the heel overtones of his character.</p><p></p><p>Taz wonders if we’ve seen the last of <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/braun-strowman" title="Braun Strowman">Braun Strowman</a></strong> vs. Roman Reigns, because if WWE wanted to keep Strowman off television for a while they wouldn’t have shown him walking out of ambulance at Great Balls of Fire. The caller says that he has heard rumours that WWE if preparing for a Fatal 4-way match at SummerSlam for Universal Title between Strowman, Reigns, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong>. Taz says he’ll be surprised if that happens.</p><p>Taz expects we’ll see Strowman back on RAW by next Monday, and then we should get some answers as to where WWE is heading with him creatively moving forward.</p>

The Ross Report Recap w/ Lita & Madusa – Great Balls of Fire Analysis, Strowman is WWE’s ‘Next Big Thing’, Mae Young Classic, More!

<p>Ross thought that <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong> had a great match at last Sunday’s Great Balls of Fire event.  He thought the match was believable at every turn, and Joe actually had the majority of the offence during the bout. He liked the story that both men told, and he didn’t have a problem with the finish of the match at all.</p><p>Some fans were aggravated by the fact that it only took one F5 to defeat Joe, and this is a tale of the times in Ross’ opinion. Fans have become accustomed to wrestlers kicking out of each other’s finishing moves, and he thinks that’s a problem for the wrestling business. A wrestler’s ‘finisher’ is supposed to ‘finish’ the match, and he believes that apart from big events like WrestleMania, finishing moves should be protected.</p><p></p><p>He admits that the outcome of the match was somewhat predictable with Lesnar winning but he thinks there will be a rematch at some point down the road, maybe as soon as SummerSlam if Joe is able to defeat Roman Reigns on RAW next week.</p><p>Ross thinks that <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/braun-strowman" title="Braun Strowman">Braun Strowman</a></strong> has a chance to be the ‘next big thing’ in WWE. After seeing Strowman walk away from that crash at Great Balls of Fire, Ross feels it’s hard to root against him, even if he’s supposed to be a heel. Strowman is a powerful, believable character who Ross thinks fans can get behind. He says that Strowman is the type of performer that you build a company around.</p>

The Taz Show Recap – RAW Analysis, Universal Title Segment Steals the Show, Are The Hardys About to Break? More!

<h1>Block 1:</h1><p>Taz says he really enjoyed one segment from last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW in particular, and that was the segment featuring <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong>, Roman Reigns and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong>. He says that this felt very real, and there was some extreme intensity between Joe and Lesnar in particular. Taz could tell that these guys were simply working from bullet points, and that made their promos feel more believable.</p><p>Taz thinks that this segment had Paul Heyman’s fingerprints all over it, and he thought all parties involved did a very good job. In addition, after almost getting the best of Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire, Taz is glad that WWE didn’t just take Joe out of the main event picture right away without any explanation. Taz doesn’t think that Joe will defeat Reigns next week, but it’s good that he’s still involved in the Title picture.</p><p></p><p>Taz liked the majority of <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/big-cass" title="Big Cass">Big Cass</a></strong>’ promo which opened RAW last night. He says that at certain points in the promo Cass looked lost, but that’s going to happen when a lot of these younger talents are learning on the fly. We’ll probably see more and more of this as performers are basically starting their careers in WWE now, instead of honing their craft in the territories like they did years ago.</p><p>Overall, he thought that Cass spoke a lot of truth in his promo. Cass said that he’s going to be a star in WWE and will eventually be WWE Champion. Taz says he believes every word of that, and it’s only a matter of time before Cass skyrockets up the card, because it’s evident that WWE is firmly behind pushing him right now.</p>
