It’s a Hall Of Fame thing. Wrestling has a history of working with celebrities and it has been a mixed bag over the years. There are several celebrities who are there for the sake of promoting their latest project and nothing more, while there are occasionally celebrities there for their love of wrestling (among other things). The latter was the case this week and a WWE legend got involved as a result. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Tag Team Splits On NXT In Mid-Match Betrayal Bad Bunny, who has worked with WWE multiple times in the past and is set to host this year’s Backlash, was a guest on the Late Late Show this week. During the interview, wrestling was brought up, resulting in Bunny bringing out Rey Mysterio. Host James Corden then faced Mysterio in a match, where he was quickly defeated. It was fun while it lasted. There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it can be easy to forget about some of them. To make it even more complicated, there is also the NXT roster, which features stars who are not on television nearly as often. Occasionally someone will quietly slip away from the company and that seems to be the case again with an international star. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Considering Two Huge Backlash Main Events According to Tokyo Sport, Sarray’s WWE contract has expired and she will be returning to the ring in Japan on May 16. Sarray signed with WWE in 2020 but her debut was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. She appeared infrequently on NXT and was eventually repackaged into an anime inspired character who transformed with a magical necklace. Some of the top matches will have a major impact on what WWE does for the next several months, if not that much longer. However, there is a lot going on after the show is over and now we have an idea of what to expect. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Long Move: Interesting Note On WWE’s Change To Premium Live Events According to Xero News, WWE is considering two main events for Backlash, the next Premium Live Event after WrestleMania 39. The first option would see Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. There is no word on who would be champion going into the match. The other option would be Rhodes teaming with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to face Reigns and the Usos in a non-title match. There is no word on which way WWE is leaning. They’re going. WWE runs several events a year and some of them are among the biggest wrestling cards anywhere. Getting to see one in person is a pretty rare treat as they only come to certain areas. It means a lot to have a show go somewhere else for the first time ever or even in a long time. That is what WWE is now planning to do for the first time in eighteen years. Some shows have been run n the same months for years now and there is nothing to suggest that they will be changing anytime soon.
