No Vacancy? Update On Former WWE Stars Returning To The Company

There had to be a limit. One of the bigger wrestling stories over the last several months has been the return of several former WWE stars to the company. WWE released well over 100 wrestlers from their contracts over the previous year and a half, but now the Triple H regime has brought several of them back. However, things might be changing a bit as we move forward. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Deserve It: WWE Hypes Several Records Broken At Elimination Chamber Earlier this month, a report said that WWE was negotiating with the Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering about a return to the company. However, according to Fightful Select, other than those returns, “things have been quiet” on the returns front. There is no word on if WWE is interested in bringing back more names or if the company has run out of wrestlers they want to have return. There have been some big returns. Check out some of the better ones: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to..

He’s Managing: Wrestling Legend Reportedly Negotiating Authors Of Pain’s Possible WWE Return

It’s a different job. Managers have been around wrestling for decades and they have long since served an important purpose. A manager often serves as a wrestler’s mouthpiece and gets the fans to care about him more than the wrestler can make happen on their own. Occasionally an on-screen manager has some off-screen responsibilities and now a former WWE manager might be helping some old clients. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Could be Worse: Update On Montez Ford’s Health After WWE Elimination Chamber Earlier this year, reports surfaced saying that WWE had an interest in bringing the Authors of Pain back to the company. According to Fightful Select, the team has a strong sense of loyalty to their former manager Paul Ellering, who would actually be negotiating any possible return. Ellering managed the team in NXT but they were split when the team debuted on Monday Night Raw. The team was quite the force. They’re Next: WWE Discusses Bringing Back Two Former Champions

Them too? There have been several returns to WWE in recent months and those returns seem to be continuing. After dozens of wrestlers were released from the company over the last two years, all kinds of them are being brought back. That has made for some interesting moments and now it seems that WWE has its eye on bringing back to more former champions. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: His Lordship: William Regal Opens Up About Returning To WWE According to Fightful Select, WWE is internally discussing bringing back the Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar. The team are former Raw and NXT Tag Team Champions and wrestled for WWE from 2016-2020 when they were released. There is no word on if the team is interested in a return or if they have been contacted about making one. Neither has wrestled since their release, though the team did announce their own independent promotion, which never ran its initial event. The team was pretty awesome when they were around. Check out what the team did in WWE: [Th..

More On WWE’s Plans To Call Up NXT Stars

There is a point to them. WWE has a complicated history when it comes to tag teams. The company has had some excellent teams over the years but there have been long stretches when teams are rarely focused on whatsoever. There are times when tag teams receive a focus and it can be interesting to see them pop up. That might be what WWE is doing again, at least with one team. Earlier this month, a report surfaced saying that WWE was considering calling up Veer Mahaan and Sanga, collectively known as Indus Sher, from NXT to the main roster. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this would be done to add a powerhouse team, which WWE does not currently have. There has not been such a team on the roster since the Authors of Pain, who were released in 2020. Opinion: I’m not sure I get the thinking about not having a powerhouse team on a roster that includes the Viking Raiders, who are mostly power wrestlers. WWE does seem to have a plan in mind though and that is more than often se..

Wrestling Show Featuring Former WWE Stars Postponed (And Possibly Canceled For Good)

So much for that? While the top wrestling promotions in the world get the most attention, there is a lot of great wrestling action outside of the top ranks. You can find all kinds of action worth seeing elsewhere and it is one of the best things about the wrestling world. However, it seems that we will not be seeing a pretty solid looking show for the time being, if at all. Last month, former Raw Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain announced that they would be promoting a wrestling show in Nottingham, England. The show, held under a banner called Wrestling Entertainment Series, would be held on June 4 and would feature several former WWE stars. However, the venue has since announced that the show has been postponed until July 9, though Chelsea Green, who is scheduled to be on the card, has said that it is canceled. No reason was given for the scheduling change. RESCHEDULE ? Unfortunately, the event organisers of @wesofficialtv have decided to postpone this event. Originally due t..

Familiar Bunch: Several Former WWE Stars Appearing For Debuting Promotion

Call it a reunion? There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and it can be difficult for all of them to find a place to go. While WWE and AEW are often the goals for several wrestlers, there is not room for all of them there. That is where the independent promotions come in though and that is the case again, with several former WWE stars finding a new home. The new Wrestling Entertainment Series promotion has announced its debut card, which will take place on June 4 in at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England. The show will feature four title matches and several former names from WWE. Wrestling Entertainment Series is owned by former Raw Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain, who will be wrestling on the show under the name Legion Of Pain. Here is the full card: * World Championship Match: Adam Scherr vs. Alistair Overeem * World Women’s Championship Match: Lina Fanene vs. CJ Perry * World Tag Team Championship Match: Legion of Pain vs. Westin Blake & Steve Maclin * Kill..

Run It Back: Two Former WWE Stars Planning Return To The Ring

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers throughout the world and some of them have managed to make it all the way to WWE. That is the elite level for several wrestlers and it means a lot to get to appear for the company. However, at some point those wrestlers are going to leave WWE but it does not mean their career is over. That is the case again with a pair of former stars. According to Fightful Select, former WWE Raw Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain are returning to the ring. Should this take place, it would be the team’s first match since the March 9, 20202 Monday Night Raw. There is no word on when or where the team will be wrestling again. The team was released from WWE in September 2020 after several months of activity. Opinion: This would certainly be a cool thing to see as the Authors of Pain were a good monster pairing who could have been around WWE for a lot longer than they were. I’m still not sure how WWE didn’t think there was at least some value in them, as you..

It’s A Good Weekend: AEW Team Picks Up Some Gold (With Some Chicanery)

It suits them. There are certain wrestlers who are perfectly suited as villains and the fans can sense it. They know when these wrestlers are as vile as can be and they deserve to be booed. It makes sense for wrestling promotions to present them in ways that are going to draw as much heat from the crowd as possible and now two of the best around are getting additional help. Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti won the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Titles at TripleMania XXX on Saturday night, defeating Maravilla/Latigo, Sexy Star II/Komander and defending champions Los Vipers. Guevara came to the ring on a crutch and had Parka Negra take his place, only to use his crutch to beat everyone up and score a double pin with Conti to win the titles. He also offered to pay off the referee. #andNEW! Former WWE Tag Team Denies Retirement Reports

Maybe? Retirements are a funny thing in wrestling as you never know when someone is going to hang it up for good. Sometimes it seems like something that needs to be done but sometimes fans are left wondering why a talented wrestler would decide to call it a career. This time though it does not seem to be over just yet for a pair of younger wrestlers who should have long careers ahead of them. According to Fightful Select, a promoter who inquired about Sunny Dhinsa and Gzim Selmani, formerly known as Akam and Rezar as the Authors of Pain, was told that the team had retired. They are now reportedly working regular jobs outside of the wrestling business. This comes after the pair was released from WWE in September and have not wrestled since March 2020. However, the two of them have both sent out Instagram messages, saying that they “Ain’t Done Yet”. There is no word on where or when the two will wrestle again. ‘Raw‘ Superstars Sheamus and Cesaro were interviewed on Edge & Christian’s Podcast of Awesomeness where they spoke about the bar scene they were involved in and finding new people to face as the Raw Tag Team Champions. Christian asked Sheamus and Cesaro if they gave the team their all when they were first told they’d be teaming. Sheamus responded. “I was in from the beginning, the get-go. We both talked about it, like, where we were, and we battered each other in the best of seven [series] to remind people just how good we were and what we could do. And then, the tag team thing came along and we jumped on it. It came out of left field. We had no idea where the whole thing was going.” Sheamus explained what he would have ideally liked to see at ‘WrestleMania 34’ for the Raw Tag Team Championship. “Regarding the tweet I put out [last week] or whatever, like, I got loads of stuff. NXT Tag Team Championship Match Announced

<p>WWE has announced that Heavy Machinery will receive a shot at The Authors of Pain for the NXT Championships on the July 12th episode of NXT. Here is the preview they posted for the match:</p><p><em><strong>NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain to defend against Heavy Machinery on July 12</strong></em></p><p><em>The Authors of Pain have built their NXT Tag Team Title Championship upon a foundation of brute force and physical dominance. However, against Heavy Machinery — AOP’s newly confirmed challengers for the July 12 episode of NXT — Ellering’s menacing monsters, for once, find themselves against opponents who can more than match their immensity.</em></p><p><em>For Tucker Knight & Otis Dozovic, the battle cry of “steaks and weights” isn’t just playful banter; it’s a way of life. The numbers tell the <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/story/" title="story">story</a></strong>: 320-pound Knight boasts a 365-pound bench press and 500-pound squats and deadlifts, while 330-pound Dozovic lays claim to a 475-pound bench press, a 610-pound squat and a 710-pound deadlift. Reason Why WWE Split Up DIY at NXT Takeover

<p>As seen at Saturday’s WWE NXT Takeover: Chicago event, WWE did an angle that saw ‎<strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tommaso-ciampa" title="Tommaso Ciampa">Tommaso Ciampa</a></strong> attack his partner <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/johnny-gargano" title="Johnny Gargano">Johnny Gargano</a></strong> after their loss to Authors of Pain for the NXT Championship.</p><p>Dave Meltzer discussed the incident on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and indicated that the two are headed to the main roster soon. This is the reason they decided to <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/split/" title="split">split</a></strong> them as the company didn’t want to bring them to the main roster as a tag team.</p>
