New plan! We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 39, which will feature some of the biggest WWE matches of the year. This is the kind of show that can change a wrestler’s future and the question becomes what happens after that. Getting to headline the show is one of the biggest career boosts imaginable and now some different names might be receiving that honor. A different way to go. We are less than five weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the show is looking like it could be something special. There have been several major matches announced and those numbers will likely grow as we get closer to the event. WWE has been working on the card for a long time, and now we know how some of the originally planned matches have been altered. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In: Speculation Over WWE Storyline Changing Due To New Name Being Introduced Fightful Select is reporting that WWE has changed the original plans for the Raw Women’s Title match at WrestleMania 39. The original plan called for Charlotte to return on Monday Night Raw and challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title. However, Ronda Rousey decided to take January off from WWE, resulting in Charlotte defeating her for the title on the December 30 SmackDown. Asuka was moved into the Raw Women’s Title slot while Rhea Ripley will challenge Charlotte. There is no word on what the origina..
There’s another one. We are just a few weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start finalizing the card. WWE knows what they have planned for the show but the matches still need to be officially announced. This includes title matches as well, and now we know one of the bigger title matches that is going to be held at some point over the weekend. They’re set. The Royal Rumble has come and gone for the year and that means it is time to start getting ready for the rest of the Road To WrestleMania. While the biggest show on the way there is all taken care of, there is still one more big show that needs to be covered. In this case, it is another show with two of its namesake matches taking place on the card. Now we already know a good portion of the lineup. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Former WWE Women’s Champion Returns To Television On February 18, WWE will present its annual Elimination Chamber event, with two Elimination Chamber matches already announced. First up, United States Champion Austin Theory will defend against Seth Rollins, Bronson Reed and Johnny Gargano, plus two more challengers who will qualify next week on Monday Night Raw. The other match will be for the Raw Women’s Title match at WrestleMania 39, with Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez and two more competitors competing. No other matches have been an..
She’s back. WWE has had a number of returns in the past 48 hours, with names such as Chelsea Green and Rick Boogs returning to the company. However, there was an additional name that also made her presence felt on television. Carmella made her return to WWE programming on tonight’s episode of Raw. It was also announced that she would be in a Fatal-4-way match on next week’s show, along with Candice LaRae, Michin, and Piper Niven. The winner of that match will qualify for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match, where the winner will face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. After the announcement, Carmella was interviewed backstage, where she was confronted by Asuka, who had blue liquid running out of her mouth. Editor’s Opinion: F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! I have been a fan of Carmela’s for a long time and it is great to see her back on television. I’ve always thought that she had something to offer the company and with the momentum that the Raw women’s division has..
This is her brutality. After entering the match at No. 1, Rhea Ripley went the distance and ended up becoming the winner of the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match. There’s the next step? WWE wrestlers appear on television on such a regular basis that eventually they are going to start feeling a bit stale. There are only so many ways to keep things fresh and sometimes one of the best ways is to have them go away for a bit. That seems to be the case with a current Monday Night Raw star, who is hinting at taking a break of her own. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Major Update To Bobby Lashley’s Monday Night Raw Status Over the last few weeks, Monday Night Raw’s Asuka has been hinting at making a change in her career. This week, she wrestled without wearing face paint for the first time in years. Now, following her loss to Rhea Ripley on this week’s Monday Night Raw, Asuka has sent out a tweet saying that “I’ll be on a trip for a while.” There is no word on if this means Asuka will be missing time from WWE television or what she will be doing when she gets back. I'll be on a trip for a while. — ASUKA / ??? (@WWEAsuka) December 13, 2022 Asuka ..
It’s one of the most important parts. There are several things that need to come together to make a wrestler a success. While the in-ring and speaking abilities play large roles, one of the first things that fans notice is the wrestler’s look. A wrestler with an interesting look is going to catch someone’s attention rather quickly and now a longtime WWE star has changed her look quite a bit. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Can You Blame Them: WWE Pleased As NXT Finisher Goes Viral (Video Included) This week on Monday Night Raw, Rhea Ripley defeated Asuka. Prior to the match, Asuka came to the ring with no paint on her face, even missing the black line across her cheeks and the green lines coming from her eyes and mouth. There is no word on why Asuka changed her look, though it does come after a series of tweets, suggesting that Asuka is planning a change. It would have been a different way to go. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout the history of WWE and several of them will pop up again every so often. One of the most common places to see this take place is in the Royal Rumble, which needs thirty spots filled in for each edition of the match. That was the case last year and now we know more about how it all came together. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Bad Version? She might need a change. There are different ways to present almost any wrestler. Sometimes a wrestler needs an adjustment to make things go that much better for them. That adjustment might be something brand new or something that they have done before. A WWE star is now suggesting that they might be returning to a previous gimmick that they have used before, but not in this company. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Excuses? Here Is The Surprising Reason Miro Has Been Missing From AEW TV The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Alexa Bliss defeat Asuka and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match to advance to next week’s #1 contenders match. Following the loss, Asuka posted a string of tweets, showing her in clown makeup, which she used during her time as Kana in Japan. Asuka also said that she did not want respect, but was going to go listen to the new Metallica song and go to bed. pic.twitter.com/Xd99IleI82 — ASUKA / ??? That might be a sign. With so many wrestlers around in WWE and so much television to film, it can be easy for a wrestler to begin feeling stale. In those cases, it makes sense for something to be changed, including a wrestler going from good to evil or vice versa. Sometimes those changes can be easier to spot than others and that might have been the case this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not Full Strength: WWE Star Very Sick, Lost 15lbs In Last Week And A Half This week on Monday Night Raw, Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss were in the back talking when Bray Wyatt’s symbol popped up on a monitor behind them. Bliss seemed distracted and would not stop looking at Belair’s Raw Women’s Title. Eventually when Bliss was asked a question about Becky Lynch joining their WarGames team, she snapped back to reality and answered, albeit halfheartedly. This latest incident involving Bliss and Wyatt’s symbol have led to speculation about an upcoming heel turn. ? ?#WWERAW pic.twitter.com/Piq1Gw..
Survivor Series 2022 Date: November 26, 2022 Location: TD Garden, Boston, Massachusetts Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Wade Barrett It’s time for WarGames and no that still doesn’t feel right to say. We have a men’s and women’s version of the match here and that should make for a great core of the show. There are only five matches on the card but double WarGames is probably enough to carry things, especially with the Bloodline vs. Team Drew McIntyre as the likely headliner. Let’s get to it. The opening video is a five minute Ozzy Osborne music video, with Ozzy saying Welcome To WarGames at the end. Team Belair vs. Team Damage Ctrl Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Mia Yim Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley, Nikki Cross If you’re not familiar, we have two teams of five, with each team sending in a person for dive minutes. After that, the team who won the advantage coming into the match (Damage Ctrl in this case) will send in its second w..
They might be on to something. We are less than a week away from WWE Survivor Series, which will feature a pair of WarGames matches. There will be a men’s and women’s edition of the match, with the former having a completely set lineup. The women’s match still has a single spot to be filled and it is not clear who will take the slot. However, some fans certainly have a theory. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Surprise Name Completes Men’s WarGames Match On SmackDown As of Monday morning, the lineup for the women’s WarGames match features Damage Ctrl, Rhea Ripley and Nikki Cross facing Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and another wrestler to be named. This is the lineup featured on the graphic for the match, with a hooded figure filling in the last spot. The image shows blue hair sticking out of the hood, leading to fan speculation that Sasha Banks will be returning for WarGames. This is not confirmed and is only a fan theory at the moment. Banks has been away from WWE since Ma..
It’s a look. There are a lot of things that come together to make a wrestler into a complete star. In addition to everything that takes place in the ring and on the microphone, there is also the physical aspect. A wrestler has to do something to catch a viewer’s eye and the look is often the best way. Changing a look can be a big deal and now we are seeing a WWE star do so again. Last weekend at WWE Crown Jewel, Alexa Bliss and Asuka lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles to Damage Ctrl. Following the event, Bliss posted a photo of herself with all pink hair, as opposed to the blonde hair she sported at Crown Jewel. It is not clear when the photo was taken, as Bliss was back to the blonde hair on Monday Night Raw. Bliss has also been announced for the first WWE women’s WarGames match coming up at Survivor Series. ? pic.twitter.com/2MChWVPBgD — Lexi (Kaufman) Cabrera (@AlexaBliss_WWE) November 6, 2022 Opinion: This is the kind of change that can shake things up quite a bit for Bliss, as t..
Lock them in. We are coming up on Survivor Series and this year’s edition is going to be a little bit different. For the first time, we are going to be seeing WarGames make its main roster debut in WWE. There will be two matches on the show with a men’s and women’s match taking place on the show. Now we have a good idea of what one of the matches is going to be. This week on Monday Night Raw, WWE announced most of the women’s WarGames match. Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss challenged Damage Ctrl to compete in the match, with Damage Ctrl accepting. Nikki Cross became the fourth member of Team Damage Ctrl, with one more member to go. Belair and company still have two teammates to be announced. Survivor Series takes place on Saturday November 26. Opinion: As an old WCW fan, it feels so strange to see WarGames in WWE but now we are several major steps towards it actually happening. Just having the matches announced was one thing but now we are seeing the participants getting ready t..
That’s a big change. There are a lot of titles in WWE and one of them changing hands can make a huge difference to both the company and the wrestlers’ future. Even a short title reign ending can mean a lot and it is always noteworthy when someone wins a championship. That was the case this weekend as a title change hands not long after it was won in the first place. Over the weekend, WWE presented its Crown Jewel 2022 event from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In the second match on the show, Damage Ctrl defeated Asuka and Alexa Bliss to regain the Women’s Tag Team Titles. The title change came after interference from Nikki Cross and ended Asuka and Bliss’ reign after five days. This was the only title change to take place during the show. Opinion: This is the kind of title change that makes Crown Jewel feel important but at the same time doesn’t change much of anything. The titles are right back where they were coming into this week’s Monday Night Raw and that makes things feel a bit less imp..
It’s time to go overseas again with the latest WWE in Saudi Arabia endeavor. As usual, the show doesn’t have the best reputation but this one does feel a bit different. Instead of some weird special show with some one off gimmick or competition, it feels like a regular pay per view which happens to take place in Saudi Arabia. Now if only they can make it work well. Let’s get to it. Women’s Tag Team Titles: Asuka/Alexa Bliss(c) vs. Damage Ctrl This was a last minute addition as Damage Ctrl dropped the titles to the returning Asuka and Bliss this week on Raw. I’m not sure how much of a chance there is to have the titles change back here, but it is the kind of thing that could be set up for a short title reign to give the show a moment. The Saudi Arabia shows do need to feel more important and a title change, even of a minor title, would help with that. However, I think I’ll go with the titles being successfully defended here as Asuka and Bliss coming back on Monday to win the titles an..
That looked a bit more serious. Wrestlers have a lot to take care of in any given match, with their fellow stars’ safety at the top of the list. It means everything to keep your opponents safe but there is always the chance that things can go wrong in the blink of an eye. That might have happened earlier this week, as one star did not seem happy with what was going on in her match. The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Alexa Bliss and Asuka defeat Damage Ctrl to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. During the match, Iyo Sky kicked Bliss in the back of the head, resulting in Bliss firing off some much more aggressive than usual punches. While not confirmed, this seemed to be a genuine physical reaction from Bliss as she may have been angry over the kick. There is nothing to suggest anything happened or was said between the two backstage before or after the match. It got serious quickly. Put it on the list. We are less than a week away from Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 5. The show will be one of the biggest that WWE will present this year and that means WWE will be wanting to boost the card up as much as possible. That is what they will be doing again as they have added another title match, this one a rematch from a recent title change. This week on NXT, it was announced that new Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Asuka will defend their titles against Damage Ctrl’s Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai. Bliss and Asuka defeated Damage Ctrl to win the titles earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, meaning the Crown Jewel title match will be their first defense. This is the fourth title match announced for the show. Opinion: This is a nice match to add to the card and spice it up a bit, as anything involving a title is going to feel important. The titles having just changed hands in the first place earlier in the week means it is going to have a story built in so e..
