WATCH: WWE Releases Never Before Seen Roman Reigns Match

Open the vault. WWE has been around for decades now and during their time, they have acquired several video libraries. As a result, WWE owns by far the biggest collection of wrestling footage in history with nothing coming close to it. This allows them to release almost anything they like whenever they choose, and now they are letting you see another match you have probably never seen before. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Farewell? Just Not Quite: WWE Legend On Why Shelton Benjamin Didn’t Become A Main Event Star

The missing ingredient. There have been a lot of talent in WWE throughout the years but only a small group of them have reached the top of the company by becoming the World Champion. It means a lot for someone to reach that level, but not everyone is able to get that far. Now one legend is weighing in on why one of his contemporaries never made it all the way to the big one. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Huge Beatdown On Monday Night Raw, Popular Star Taken Out On Stretcher During the most recent edition of The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy was asked why Shelton Benjamin only made it as far as he did in WWE. Hardy said he felt that WWE did not see Benjamin as a larger than life personality, which limited how far he could have gone. Hardy also said that he believed if Benjamin came up today, he might have had a higher ceiling due to the modern style. Benjamin was quite the marvel in certain ways. That’s kind of the point. There are a lot of ways to describe professional wrestlers but one of the most important is right there in the title: professional. Now the company is looking back at some of their better moments. WWE has released a top ten video looking at the Ten Scariest WWE Moments. Check out what made the list: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that fits the season, but there are a few odd entries on the list. Several of the choices are modern options and sh..

Adam Cole Reportedly Suffers Serious Injury At Forbidden Door

It’s always a possibility. Wrestling is a contact sport and there is always the chance that something could go wrong. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and be taken out of the ring. There is an even bigger chance of something going wrong during a match and unfortunately that was the case this weekend in a high profile match at Forbidden Door. This weekend’s Forbidden Door event featured a four way match for the IWGP World Heavyweight title as Adam Cole, Hangman Page and Kazuchika Okada all challenged Jay White. According to F4WOnline.com, Cole suffered a concussion during the match, which ended when Cole collapsed and was pinned by White. While not shown on screen, commentary did say that Cole walked to the back on his own power. There is no word on how long it will be before Cole can return to the ring. Opinion: Concussion is one of the scariest words in wrestling as you never know how severe one of them is going to be. Cole could be out of action for more th..

WWE Teaming With Dark Side Of The Ring Creators For New Wrestling Series

That might be a different take. There are all kinds of stories in the wrestling world and some of them can be quite fascinating. You never know what you might hear about in wrestling and over the last few years, several more of those stories have received attention. This has come in the form of several documentaries, and now we are going to be in for another set with a different perspective. According to SEScoops, WWE will be teaming up with Evan Husney and Jason Eisener, the creators of Dark Side of the Ring, for a new wrestling TV series. The VICE TV series is described as “Campfire Talks” about previous generations of wrestling. WWE legends will be included in the series, including Steve Austin, and the creators will have access to the WWE archives. There is no word on when the new series will air. It is not clear what this means for the future of Dark Side Of The Ring. Opinion: This could have potential but at the end of the day, I don’t buy the idea of anything with WWE involved..

One Step Forward: Very Positive Update On Big E.’s Injury Status

That is some great news. There are all kinds of injuries in the wrestling world and some of them are among the worst things that can happen to a wrestler. Sometimes you see someone’s career cut off out of nowhere and it can be quite the wait to see things get better. That was the case a few months back with a very serious injury, but now there might be some good news. According to Ringsidenews.com, Big E. has shared an image to his social media showing him without a neck brace. This is the first time that Big E. has been seen without the brace since he suffered a broken neck after a botched belly to belly suplex from Ridge Holland on the March 11 SmackDown. There is no word on when or if Big E. will be able to return to the ring. Looks like Big E has been able to ditch his neck brace (via IG) pic.twitter.com/bmC0EpkiPw — WrestlePurists (@WrestlePurists) May 29, 2022 Opinion: That is awesome to see as well as hear, as a broken neck is one of the scariest things that you will ever ..

Several New Wrestling Documentaries Coming This Year

Another look. There have been all kinds of wrestlers over the years and several of them have some very interesting stories. That is the kind of thing that can make for some fascinating looks back and in recent years, a good many more of those looks have taken place. Now we seem ready to see even more, as some fresh wrestling documentaries are in the works. According to Fightful Select, the Reelz movie channel is planning to release several new wrestling documentaries this summer. Names that are confirmed for such documentaries are Roddy Piper, Steve Austin and Chyna, though it is not clear if the living people or their families will be involved. These are not part of the A&E documentary series and are not expected to have involvement from WWE. Opinion: This is an interesting idea, but at the same time I’m not sure how well things will go with limited participation. At the same time, Piper and Austin are names who have been documented before, with Austin’s story being fairly well know..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – March 2, 2022

Ring Of Honor Date: March 2, 2022 We have one more Hall of Fame special here and this time we are looking at CM Punk. This is one of the big ones as Punk played such a role in putting Ring of Honor on the map. Between his feuds with Raven and Samoa Joe, plus the Summer of Punk, there is a lot to pick from here and that makes things all the more fun. Let’s get to it. We open with Punk’s Hall of Fame video, including a look at straightedge, plus the highlights of his Ring of Honor career. From Death Before Dishonor III on June 18, 2005. Ring of Honor World Title: CM Punk vs. Austin Aries Aries is defending and drives Punk up against the ropes off a lockup. With that not going anywhere, they fight over a series of standing switches until Punk backs him into the corner for a break. Aries is back up with a middle rope elbow to the face before grinding away on a headlock. Punk reverses to a headscissors to work on Aries’ bad neck, allowing commentary to talk about all of the great things..

WWE Wanted To Shut Ring Of Honor Down

They had a plan for that. Last week, AEW President Tony Khan announced that he had purchased Ring of Honor Wrestling, marking a new era for the company. At the moment there is no word on what Khan will be doing with Ring of Honor, but one of the rumors has been that it will become AEW’s developmental territory. That is one use for it, but WWE had another idea in mind. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE considered purchasing Ring of Honor in 2018. Had WWE purchased the company, they would have shut it down rather than using it for anything else so as to avoid competition with NXT. WWE would have used the Ring of Honor tape library on the WWE Network and for various documentaries, but the promotion itself would have been gone. Opinion: This is one of those things that might make sense for WWE but it doesn’t exactly do well for the fans. I can go for the idea of having more wrestling around and Ring of Honor is something with some value. The tape library would be valuab..

WWE Announces Return Of Former Star For Special Grudge Match

Guess who’s back? Wrestlers are legitimate athletes, but they do not do the same things as their contemporaries. One of the major differences is in the area of retirement, as you do not see wrestlers stay out of the ring forever most of the time. It also helps that wrestlers are able to come back for a one off match if they choose, which is the case again with another retired wrestler. Last week on NXT, Harland attacked WWE producer and former star Brian Kendrick, causing him to suffer a neck injury. This week, Harland and Joe Gacy blamed Kendrick for causing his own injury due to his comments about Harland. As a result, Kendrick announced that he had resigned as a producer and would be returning to the ring to face Harland next week. This will be Kendrick’s first match since the October 28, 2010 edition of 205 Live. Kendrick had a heck of a career of his own. Check out what is coming for Harland: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] ..

WWE “Ramping Up” One Of Its More Popular Divisions

They have a focus. WWE has a lot of different divisions to their company and a lot of them are involved in producing content. That means they can do all kinds of things at once and showcase all of their rather impressive footage. You don’t get to see that from many promotions, and now we might be getting to see something different even by their standards. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is hoping to ramp up their documentary division in 2022 with new leadership. This comes after WWE stopped production and work on several of their documentaries this year, including not releasing some that were completed. There is no word on what caused WWE to stop producing them in 2021or what new projects they may be developing. WWE has done some great things with its history. Check out some of its better efforts: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is nice to hear, as the whole dropping the..

WWE Makes Odd Decision On Some Of Its Content

Lost in the shuffle? WWE has been shaken up a lot in recent months, though there are some changes that have flown a bit under the radar. One of the biggest has been the shift from the WWE Network to Peacock, which marked the end of a seven year run and started a new five year version. The content available has changed a bit, though now it seems that we might not be seeing some content for a long time. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has shelved several completed documentaries. This includes documentaries on a superfan named Vladimir, Lex Luger, Ric Flair and Money in the Bank. WWE advertised the Vladimir and Luger documentaries, with the former being mentioned as recently as September 11. There is no word on why WWE has chosen not to release them and nothing to suggest they will be released in the future. They’re interesting subjects. Check out some of what you won’t be seeing: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contain..

RUMOR: WATCH: Monday Night Raw Match Breaks Down Into A Bad Way

It can happen. There are a lot of wrestling matches every single week and a good number of them are held on national television. As a result, you are going to get to see quite a few different things on any given wrestling show. Some of these are going to be different than others, and that was absolutely the case during this week’s Monday Night Raw, with a once in a blue moon display. This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw featuring a non-title match between Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte and Nia Jax. The match ran just shy of fourteen minutes and saw Jax drop Charlotte multiple times, including via a belly to back suplex without dropping down herself. The match included a variety of harder than usual looking shots, and it seems there is something more to it. According to Wrestlingnews.co, the match turned into a shoot fight at times, with both women hitting each other outside of the boundaries of a normal match. The match also included multiple instances of both women seemingly not ..

More Details On WWE Releases, How Vince McMahon Was Involved

The more you know. The WWE roster was shaken up again this week as the company released another dozen names from the roster. This has become a regular occurrence for WWE over the last several months, to the point where nearly 100 wrestlers have been let go over the last year and a half. This latest batch was a little bit different, and now we know a bit more about what happened. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon made the call on the cuts at some point this week. These cuts were made due to NXT having too many names, along with McMahon wanting to bring in younger and bigger wrestlers. WWE President Nick Khan has no say in which wrestlers have been cut at any point. The salaries of the wrestlers released are nothing close to those of Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt, both of whom were released earlier this year. There were some surprising names let go. Check out some of them in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play..

WHAT? WWE Announces Special Steve Austin Week

I’d say he’s earned it. The WWE Network has done some great things for wrestling history as fans are now able to see all kinds of wrestling that they might have never seen before. This includes both the wrestling itself but also WWE’s rather impressive documentaries about various things that have taken place before. There will be several of them coming this week and they will have a theme. There are starts in the wrestling world and then there is Steve Austin. In the history of wrestling, there are very few wrestlers anywhere close to Austin’s level and there may be no one bigger than him, at least in the modern era. Austin changed the way the wrestling world works and will be remembered for a long time to come. WWE is making sure that is the case. WWE has announced Stone Cold Steve Austin Week starting on March 16, known as Steve Austin Day. There will be four specials on the WWE Network and Peacock on Austin, including two documentaries, a special collection of Austin’s best matche..

WWE Announces Set Of Biographies And New Series

Another showcase. Wrestling is one of the most unique forms of entertainment in the world as there really is nothing like it. The entire industry is a mixture of athleticism, drama, comedy, romance and more with most of it taking place live. That is hard enough to pull off, but having the right roster can help things so much. Those people are some of the most important people around and now some of them are getting a closer look. We have been seeing a bit of a renaissance of interest in wrestling in recent years as there have been several different looks at wrestling. This has included books, documentaries, movies and television shows, but now we are going to be seeing two of them together in a long format. WWE is getting in on it this time as well, and that could be rather interesting in the right circumstances. WWE has announced the schedule for a ten week partnership with the A&E Network, which will begin on April 18. The partnership includes eight two hour editions of the A&E Bio..

KB’s Review: The Ghost Of Montreal

Twenty three years ago this week, the Montreal Screwjob took place at Survivor Series 1997. I’m not going to bother going into a big recap of the incident because it’s the most infamous night in the history of professional wrestling. There have been books, documentaries, podcasts and everything else you can imagine written/said/everything else about the whole thing. Everyone has talked about this at some point but today we are going to look at something that isn’t discussed enough. The Montreal Screwjob was a perfect storm of everything going wrong all at once. Between Bret Hart, Vince McMahon, WCW and everything else going on at the same time, there are only so many ways that this could have gone. The tensions were very high and after Hart had spent months talking about how he was getting screwed and everyone was against him, something huge taking place almost made perfect sense. It would have been easy to assume that it was just a storyline, though later on the details would come ou..
