Homecoming: Two Missing AEW Stars Return This Week On Rampage

Welcome back. With so many wrestlers on the AEW roster, it can be easy for one or more of them to get lost in the shuffle. You never know when someone is going to drop off of the radar and not appear again for a little while. That can make for some annoying absences, but it can also make for some very nice returns. Two of the latter took place this week on the same show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It Fits: Important Details On Next WWE Event In Saudi Arabia, Possible AEW Competition Jake Roberts and Lance Archer made their returns to AEW television this week on Rampage. Archer, with Roberts in his corner, returned and defeated Bryce Saturn. This was Archer’s first match in AEW since the November 18 edition of Rampage and his first match anywhere since December 23. Rampage Date: November 18, 2022 Location: Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho, Excalibur It’s the go home show for Full Gear and the show has quite a bit set up in advance. The main story is advancing a tournament whose finals have been moved from Full Gear to next week, which is the best option that AEW had all things considered. Other than that, we have a special guest star so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Full Gear Contenders Tournament First Round: Ricky Starks vs. Lance Archer We start in the back (as originally planned and with Starks in street clothes) with the two of them taking turns sending each other into a metal garage door. Archer sends a backstage worker into a bunch of chairs and now they head into the arena, with Archer dragging him towards the ring. Pencil It Out: AEW Pulls Match From Full Gear, Reschedules It For Dynamite

Switch it up. AEW has been around for a little over three and a half years now and during that time they have established a schedule that they tend to follow for their major events. The company presents four regular pay per views, with the next installment coming this weekend. However, they have now made a last minute change, which will affect both this event and the next TV show. During a media call to promote Full Gear, AEW President Tony Khan announced that the finals of the Full Gear #1 contenders tournament have been moved from Full Gear to Dynamite. This comes after the first round match between Ricky Starks and Lance Archer was postponed due to Starks being not medically cleared to compete. The first round match will now take place on Rampage, with the winner facing Brian Cage on the Full Gear Zero Hour show. The winner of that will face Ethan Page on Dynamite. They have potential. Upgrade: Health Update On Missing Wrestling Legend

That could have been worse. There are all kinds of issues that a wrestler can deal with while they are in the ring, some of which are a lot more serious than others. Those issues do not go away after their careers are over though and sometimes the issues get even worse. That was the case for a certain wrestling legend, but now things have taken a turn for the better. AEW’s Jake Roberts has announced that he is no longer requiring oxygen and will be back in AEW again. This comes after Roberts has been missing from AEW television for several months due to reported health issues, including reports that he had been receiving oxygen through a tube. Roberts has mainly served as Lance Archer’s manager during his time with the company. It is not clear when Roberts will be returning to AEW TV. Off oxygen for good!! Standing tall doing great. Dynamite Date: June 8, 2022 Location: Cable Dahmer Arena, Independence, Missouri Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross It’s time for things to get all the more interesting again as this week will include the first half of the process to find a new Interim AEW World Champion. That alone should fill in a good bit of the show, as we get a battle royal and then a Jon Moxley match in the show’s main event. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Casino Battle Royal This is the battle royal with four groups of wrestlers coming in at unspecified intervals before the Joker is the 21st entrant, with the winner facing Jon Moxley later tonight. Ouch: AEW Star Suffers Injury During Bloody Match

It’s always a possibility. There are all kinds of wrestling matches throughout the course of any given week and that means a lot of things can happen. Those things can be either positive or negative and one of the bigger negatives is an injury. You never know when someone is going to go down with an injury and unfortunately that seems to have been the case again this week. The opening match of this week’s edition of AEW Rampage saw Dustin Rhodes defeat Lance Archer. Early on, Archer busted open Rhodes’ ear, which bled for the majority of the match. Rhodes has posted a video to Twitter, revealing that he needed five stitches to close the wound and that he suffered a busted eardrum. He said that he was in good spirits though and was not going anywhere, suggesting that he would not be missing any ring time. Rampage Date: March 25, 2022 Location: HEB Center, Cedar Park, Texas Commentators: Taz, Chris Jericho, Excalibur We are back on Friday and that means we should be in for the heavy wrestling show. There is also a title match this week as Shane Strickland gets to challenge Ricky Starks for the FTW Title. Other than that, hometown boy Dustin Rhodes is facing Lance Archer in a bid for revenge from months ago. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Lance Archer vs. Dustin Rhodes Archer drags one of Rhodes’ students to the ring but here is Dustin for the save. Hold on though as Dustin has to beat up Dan Lambert (who is still managing Archer) but Archer makes the save. They head inside with Archer knocking him around and hitting him in the head. Dustin fights back up and knocks him outside, only to miss the flip dive off the apron. Back in and Dustin is bleeding from the ear, with the blood on Archer’s hands for a good visual. AEW Legend Gives Great Update On His Health

That’s great to hear. While we watch wrestlers do some amazing things every single week, there is a lot more that goes on in their lives that we do not see. Some of these things are rather serious, as they have everyday problems just like anyone else. Occasionally that includes serious health issues, which was the case with a certain wrestling legend. The good thing is that the key there is “was”. During the latest episode of the DDT Snake Pit podcast, AEW’s Jake Roberts gave an update on his health. Roberts revealed that despite having COPD, two unspecified lung diseases and emphysema, he no longer has to use an oxygen tank, save for when he is on an airplane. Roberts has recently returned to AEW television where he has continued managing Lance Archer. Opinion: That is absolutely great to hear, as Roberts has had a long history of health issues over the years. AEW Teases Major Pay Per View Main Event On Dynamite

That’s where we could be going. AEW has a unique setup for its major shows as the company does not run monthly pay per views. Instead, AEW presents quarterly major pay per view events, meaning that the cards are all that bigger. There are always major matches on the show, mainly focusing on the company’s championships. Now we might have a hint about what is coming up on their next pay per view. The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured Hangman Page retaining the World Title over Lance Archer in a Texas Death Match. After the match was over, Adam Cole came to the ring and picked up the title belt to end the show. While not confirmed, this suggests that Cole will be Page’s next challenger at the Revolution pay per view event on March 6. Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world as Cole seems to be primed for the title shot. The match should be quite the showcase for both of them, as they are capable of having some great results when they get the chance...

Stick Around: Former AEW Champion Signs New Deal

Stick around for awhile. AEW has come a long way in just over three years of existence. There have been a lot of wrestlers who have appeared for the company in that time, but there has been a group who have been around since the beginning. That is not the biggest surprise, but the question becomes how many of them are going to stay around for the long term. Now we know another one who will be sticking around. According to PWInsider.com, Frankie Kazarian has signed a new contract with AEW, though there is no word on how long the new deal will last. Kazarian was one of the first signings for the company and, along with Christopher Daniels as SCU, held the AEW Tag Team Titles, marking the first reign in the titles’ history. He most recently appeared last week on Dynamite, losing to Lance Archer. Opinion: Keeping Kazarian around is certainly a good thing, as he is the kind of wrestler who can work well with anyone. PHOTO: AEW Star Reveals Horrible Looking Injury Before Dynamite Match

That might explain a few things. Wrestlers are some of the tougher athletes that you will find in the world today. They are out there almost every single night and trying to entertain the fans, which is a lot harder than it seems. The wrestlers have to work through all kinds of injuries, some of which are a lot more serious than others. This time though, there was an issue before the match that you didn’t see. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a match between Lance Archer and Frankie Kazarian. Archer won the match in about ten minutes with Kazarian getting in rather little offense. Kazarian has sent out a tweet from before the match, showing a case of bursitis on his elbow, which had to be drained with a syringe. Despite the injury, Kazarian said he was making no complaints about the match and praised Archer for the win. There is nothing to suggest that Kazarian will miss any ring time. Some of them are going to get your attention immediately and you can harly take your eyes off of them. That was the case with a certain AEW star, who has been on the injured list for a few months. His health has improved though, and now he has someone in his targets. Lance Archer made his return to AEW television this week on Dynamite, attacking World Champion Hangman Page. AEW Star Out Of Action With A Concussion

Hopefully it isn’t bad. There are a lot of injuries in the wrestling world but one of the worst is anything involving the head. A head injury of any kind can take a long time to heal and it is one of the more serious issues a wrestler can have. Thankfully the industry has started taking head injuries far more seriously, which is why another wrestler is currently missing some time. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Lance Archer has suffered a concussion and is currently out of action. Archer injured his neck on the October 23 edition of AEW Dynamite when he landed on his head in a moonsault attempt, resulting in a neck sprain. Archer was expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks due to the sprain, but it is not clear when he could be cleared of the concussion. Archer can be a heck of a monster when he is healthy. Good News On AEW Star After Scary Crash Landing

See you soon. There are all kinds of ways that a wrestler can get hurt and none of them are good. Some of them are far worse than others though, with some of the worst often being the ones that appear to be the worst. That was the case earlier this week during a match where a terrifying crash took place. Now we know a bit more about what happened and it might not be as bad as it seemed. Last week’s AEW Dynamite featured a match between Lance Archer and Eddie Kingston. During the match, Archer attempted a moonsault and landed on the top of his head, with the match ending almost immediately thereafter. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Archer suffered a neck sprain and there is no word on when he will be back in the ring. VIDEO: AEW Star Suffers Terrifying Crash, Seems To Be Ok

That could have been horrible. No matter how skilled or trained a wrestler may be, there is always the chance that something could go wrong during a match. Anything from a mistake to a slip to some kind of an equipment malfunction could cause major problems and someone could get hurt as a mistake. Some of these can look a lot worse than others and that was the case this weekend. This week’s AEW Dynamite featured a match between Lance Archer and Eddie Kingston. During the match, Archer attempted a moonsault but landed on top of his head. Archer rolled to the floor for a few moments before returning to the ring, where Kingston immediately rolled him up for the pin. Archer has since posted about the incident, saying “I’ll live! AEW Announces Full Details On World Title Eliminator Tournament, Big Names Involved

Get your brackets ready. Tournaments are one of the easiest concepts in all of wrestling as any fan can get the idea. You take a bunch of wrestlers, put them into a field and the last wrestler standing wins. They might win a championship, a title shot or some other kind of prize, but for the most part, they all work the same. That should be the case with another newly announced tournament. AEW is running another World Title eliminator tournament, with the winner earning a future shot at the AEW World Championship. The tournament will consist of eight wrestlers and begins next week on AEW television, with the finals taking place at Full Gear on November 13. AEW RUMOR: Update On Wrestling Legend’s Health Issues

That could be worse. There are all kinds of reasons that someone might be out of action from wrestling. It can be even scarier when someone has a history of bad health issues. Some of them are going to be more serious than others, but it can be quite the relief to hear that things are not as serious as they could have been. Now we might have some better news about a certain legend. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Jake Roberts was undergoing health issues that had him in a wheelchair and using an oxygen tube. VIDEO: Former World Champion Makes Surprise AEW Debut

Welcome aboard? AEW has come a long way in a short amount of time and a lot of that is due to its roster. The company has put together a great balance of rookies, current stars and veterans, which has made for a great selection. It can always help to bring in someone else though, and that might have been the case this week as a former World Champion made his debut. The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Rampage saw Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston team up to face Minoru Suzuki and Lance Archer. Near the end of the match, former Ring of Honor World Champion Homicide appeared and helped Moxley and Kingston win the match. There is no word on if this was a one off appearance or if Homicide will be sticking around. Homicide has been wrestling in Ring of Honor, and was half of the Tag Team Champions earlier this month. That doesn’t sound good. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world and some of them are in different stages of their careers. While you can find several in the ring at any given point, there are some who have long since retired from active competition. There is still a place for them in the industry, but one of the legends is now having some serious issues of his own. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jake Roberts has been missing from AEW television due to health issues. While it is not clear exactly what is wrong, Roberts recently made an appearance at the Connecticut Horrorfest, where he was in a wheelchair and was using an oxygen tube.
