WATCH: 24 Year Old Star Makes Surprise Return After Four Month Absence

Welcome back. A wrestler returning from an injury can be one of the more exciting things to take place on a wrestling show. If someone has been gone for a long time, it can be quite the moment to have them back. You never know when you might see someone pop back up, and sometimes they are thrown right into the middle of something important. That was the situation this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Get Well Soon: Missing WWE Star Reportedly Undergoes Shoulder Surgery This week’s edition of NXT opened with North American Champion Wes Lee issuing an open challenge for a title match, with the first wrestler getting into the ring getting the shot. Dabba-Kato almost made it to the ring first but Apollo Crews cut him off, allowing the returning Nathan Frazer to get inside for the title shot. This was Frazer’s first match since Halloween Havoc on October 22, 2022. Back on November 8, Frazer revealed that he was waiting on medical clearance from an undisclosed injury. Frazer went on to lose to..

We open with a huge brawl of people trying to get to the ring to answer Wes Lee’s open challenge for a North American Title shot. Dabba-Kato almost makes it in but Apollo Crews jumps him. Nathan Frazer returns and gets inside for the title shot. North American Title: Nathan Frazer vs. Wes Lee Lee is defending. Frazer headlocks him down to start and holds him there for a good bit. NXT Results – February 7, 2023

NXT Date: February 7, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T. We’re done with Vengeance Day and just shy of two months away from Stand & Deliver. It looks like we have a title match set up, as Carmelo Hayes stared down Bron Breakker, who retained the NXT Title in the main event. That should give us a clear path to Los Angeles so let’s get to it. We open with the recap of Vengeance Day. Here are Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes to open things up. Williams talks about how Hayes turned seer Apollo Crews into Stevie Wonder before Hayes brags about his win too. Hayes knows his destiny and there is one man waiting for him. Cue JD McDonagh to cut him off and say Hayes is entitled. While Hayes wants a private room at the club, McDonagh sends people to the emergency room. The match is made for later. Fallon Henley isn’t happy that Kiana James cheated to tin the titles and insists on a rematch. James isn’t sure, so Henley says they’ll tal..

Welcome back. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them are around a lot more often than others. You never know when you might see someone going away and not coming back for a long time but it can be a big deal when they make their return. That was the situation this weekend, as a star was back for the first time in a very long while. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Change Of Plans: NXT Stars Now Allowed To Wrestle Elsewhere, First Case Announced Dabba Kato, formerly known as Commander Azeez, made a surprise return to NXT television over the weekend at Vengeance Day, where he got involved in the match between Carmelo Hayes and Apollo Crews. After the match, Kato attacked Crews and left him laying. Kato has been missing since May 2022, when he wrestled on Main Event. He and Crews had been sent to NXT in June 2022, but Kato never appeared on television. There is no word on why he was missing. He is quite the giant. Check out Kato, under the name Commander Azeez: [Thi..

NXT Results – January 17, 2023

NXT Date: January 17, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Booker T., Vic Joseph We’re done with New Year’s Evil and now all roads lead to Vengeance Day in about two and a half weeks. The show will feature Bron Breakker defending the NXT Title against Grayson Waller in a cage match but we’re going to need more than that. There is a lot of potential for the rest of the show though and we should hear more this week. Let’s get to it. Opening recap, featuring all of the returns and surprises. Trick Williams/Carmelo Hayes vs. Axiom/Apollo Crews Williams works on Axiom’s arm to start and then runs him over for a bonus. A pop up right hand puts Axiom down again and it’s off to Hayes. An enziguri gets Axiom out of trouble though and it’s Crews coming in to clean house. Hayes gets knocked to the floor so Crews tosses Axiom onto both villains as we take a break. Back with Axiom and Hayes clotheslining each other but it’ snot enough to get back over to Crews..

NXT Results – January 3, 2023

NXT Date: January 3, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Booker T., Vic Joseph We’re in the New Year and that means we have one more week before New Year’s Evil, because the scheduling around here is a little weird. Tonight we have another face to face deal between Grayson Waller and Bron Breakker, as has been the case before. Other than that, we’ll probably get some more matches announced for next week. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of the greatest moments of 2022. Carmelo Hayes vs. Apollo Crews Trick Williams is here with Hayes, who gets dropkicked down to start. Back up and Hayes hits the springboard spinning clothesline to take over, setting up the fade away springboard legdrop for two. Crews is fine enough to hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for two of his own and a string of suplexes have Hayes rocked. An apron moonsault to the floor drops Hayes again and we take a break. Back with Hayes having banged up Crews’ knee during the break, ..

NXT Halloween Havoc 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s that time again as we get another WCW event being used better by NXT than by WWE. Halloween Havoc is a simple concept that can be done rather well with a cool set and some rather gimmicky matches. As luck would have it, the second one of those is already guaranteed and the first is all but guaranteed so we should be in for a pretty fun, and maybe even eventful, night. Let’s get to it. Apollo Crews vs. Grayson Waller We’ll start with a match that we don’t know yet, as this is going to be Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal. Crews has suddenly developed the power of foresight and keeps seeing Waller in varying states of pain so now they’re having a match as a result. Waller is one of the hotter prospects in NXT and Crews is able to work well with just about anyone so, gimmick depending, this should be good. I’ll take Waller to win here, as there isn’t much of a need for him to lose. Crews is someone whose legacy is already established and he can take a loss here and there without having..

Two Of A Kind? Rather Odd Pairing Makes Debut At NXT Live Event

What a twosome. With so many wrestlers around WWE, both on the main roster and in NXT, it can be difficult to find something for everyone to do. There are a lot of people who have nothing to do and are waiting on the sidelines for whatever opening they can have. That is the case with a former main roster star, who might have found something new to do in NXT. Over the last few weeks, Cora Jade has turned on former partner and friend Roxanne Perez, turning heel in the process. This includes Jade vacating her half of the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, leaving Perez as a sole champion. NXT held a live event over the weekend in Cocoa, Florida with Jade appearing next to Commander Azeez, seemingly as her new bodyguard. Azeez has not been seen on NXT TV since he was sent down to the roster along with Apollo Crews. There is no word on if this will be a permanent move or just a tryout at a live event. NXT Results – July 12, 2022

NXT Date: July 12, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett It’s the week after the Great American Bash and we still have a title on the line this week. This time around, we have the Women’s Title on the line as Roxanne Perez is going to be challenging Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Title in an attempt to become a double champ. In addition, we have the fallout from JD McDonagh attacking NXT Champion Bron Breakker last week. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of the Great American Bash. Roxanne Perez has been attacked in the parking lot, with Cora Jade and medics checking on her. Giovanni Vinci vs. Apollo Crews They fight over a lockup to start and neither gets very far. Crews slips out of a slam but gets shouldered down. Some forearms from Crews rattle Vinci though and Crews is up with AJ Styles’ drop down into a dropkick. They head outside with Crews being dropped onto the barricade and we take a break. Back with Crews ma..

Your New Home: Two WWE Stars Officially Moved To NXT

Where you lead, I will follow. There are a lot of people on the WWE roster and that can create some problems. Above all else, the biggest issue is finding a place for all of them, which is occasionally made better by having the wrestlers split into separate rosters. It can mean something when one wrestler is officially moved elsewhere and that seems to be the case again. This week’s NXT featured the surprise return of Apollo Crews, who has dropped his Nigerian royalty gimmick and reverted back to his original character. According to PWInsider.com, Crews has officially been moved to NXT and is part of their roster. Crews’ bodyguard Commander Azeez has been moved to NXT as well, but he was neither seen nor mentioned on the show. Opinion: This is the kind of move that WWE should be making, as it isn’t like Crews was doing anything on the main roster. Send him to NXT where he will have credibility based on his main roster success and see what he can do down there. In Azeez’s case, it isn..

VIDEO: Former Champion Makes Surprise Return To NXT After Six Year Absence

Welcome back. With such a large roster in WWE, it can be easy to forget what to do with some of them. That includes getting them on television, as there are only five hours a week between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, but there is a third option. That would be NXT, which offers two more hours worth of spots to WWE stars. Now we get to see another one of those stars on NXT TV. This week on NXT, Apollo Crews made a surprise return to the show, confronting Bron Breakker, who was asking who would be the next challenger to his NXT Title. The two shook hands out of respect and no match was set. Crews also teamed with Solo Sikoa to defeat Grayson Waller and Carmelo Hayes in the main event. That match was Crews’ first in NXT since 2016, though it is not clear how long he will be staying. In addition, Crews had dropped his Nigerian royalty character and was appearing as his normal self. Homecoming. Check out Crews’ return and match: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post co..

WWE Backstage Producer Seems To Receive A Promotion

It’s an upgrade. There are a lot of people who make a wrestling show work and several of them are not even in the ring. While the wrestlers themselves are the people who put on the matches, there are others who work with them to get everything ready. In WWE, these people are called producers and now another former wrestler has received a promotion backstage. According to Fightful Select, Ariya Daivari worked on his own as a producer at this week’s Main Event taping. Daivari produced the Apollo Crews vs. Akira Tozawa match on his own, marking the first time he has done so. This comes after Daivari and Curtis Axel received tryout as producers in WWE, with Axel working on this week’s SmackDown. There is no word on if the two are now full time producers. Opinion: It is nice to see WWE bringing in some fresh blood to the producers’ ranks, as you are only going to get so far with the same people doing the same matches over and over. Daivari and Axel can offer a fresh perspective on the mat..

WWE Sends Confusing Message About New Monday Night Raw Star (MINOR Spoiler)

Do they even know? WWE may be the most powerful wrestling promotion in the world, but there are some criticisms that you will see about the company. One of the most common is that WWE changes plans on a frequent basis, which can cause issues when it comes to storylines. That seems to be the case again, as one WWE star seems unable to make up his mind. According to Fightful Select, Ciampa defeated Apollo Crews during this week’s WWE Main Event taping. Ciampa reportedly wrestled the match as a babyface despite being presented as a heel during his two most recent appearances on Monday Night Raw. There is no word on if this is a new direction for Ciampa or if WWE is going in two different ways on the two different shows. Opinion: That’s about as WWE of a story as you can get, as the company is literally changing their minds by the hour. I’m not sure how much of a difference an appearance on Main Event really makes for Ciampa’s future, but it would be nice to have some consistency with th..

Bad Sign For The Future Of This Monday Night Raw Star

It was nice while it lasted. A new star showing up on one of the major WWE television shows is an exciting moment. You might be seeing one of the next big things in the company, though sometimes it can take awhile to click. Other times it can be pretty clear that someone is done from the start, but this time it seems that we have seem someone get their legs cut out from underneath them for good. This week’s Monday Night Raw features Omos defeating Commander Azeez in a match that did not last three minutes. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is a bad sign for Azeez’s future, as he and Omos are both giants. WWE paired them together and had Omos dominate the match, which means that they are only interested in pushing him of the two. Azeez debuted his current character last year on SmackDown as Apollo Crews’ bodyguard. Opinion: I don’t think it’s any secret that Azeez is not one of the top stars in WWE at the moment, but this was the kind of loss that you see to more or less end..

Two Turns Took Place On Monday Night Raw (And One Person Wasn’t Even There)

Switch them up. There are a few different ways to freshen up a wrestler every now and then, with some of them having been used for years. One of the most successful is to change them from good to evil or vice versa, some of which can be done at a moment’s notice. It seems that we saw two turns take place this week on Monday Night Raw, even though one person was not there. This week’s Monday Night Raw was scheduled to include a match between AJ Styles and Omos, but Omos did not appear. Instead, Styles defeated Apollo Crews in a replacement match. According to PWInsider.com, both Styles and Omos have been turned, with Styles now as the babyface and Omos now as the heel, despite how the feud began. There is no word on why the change was made. This could go a few ways. Check out how the feud has gone so far: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is something that probably works be..

WWE Makes Bizarre Match Change During Monday Night Raw Commercial

And so much for that. There are a lot of criticisms about modern WWE and one of the biggest is that they do not seem to have a plan for a lot of things. That can create some serious issues, as you can feel like you don’t know what to expect day to day. Some of these things are more serious than others, but one played out in front of the audience this week on WWE TV. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured an in-ring promo between AJ Styles and Grayson Waller. Apollo Crews ultimately interrupted, saying that since Styles’ original opponent, Omos, was not present, Styles could face Commander Azeez instead. Following a commercial break, Crews faced Styles instead, with the explanation being that Crews wanted to give Azeez the night off. Following Styles’ victory over Crews, Azeez came in but was taken out by Styles as well. There is no word on why WWE changed the match so soon after making it in the first place. It was a weird way to go. Check out how the match went, plus what Styles coul..

WATCH: NXT Star Makes Comes To Monday Night Raw

Short term promotion? The wrestling world is in a weird time, due to a mixture of WWE’s huge set of changes along with the Coronavirus pandemic. WWE has let all kinds of wrestlers go and completely changed the way NXT works, leaving them without much of a developmental bench. One of those wrestlers did make an appearance on the big show this week though, and it was a bit of a surprise. This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was scheduled to include a match between AJ Styles and Omos. However, Omos did not appear on the show for an unexplained reason, leaving Styles with no match. Styles was in the ring speaking when he noticed NXT’s Grayson Waller in the front row. The two spoke in the ring before Apollo Crews appeared and was defeated by Styles. This comes after Styles came to NXT last week to confront Waller of comments he made about Styles. No match has been announced between the two and there is nothing to suggest this is more than a one off appearance. Waller has made an impact..
