That’s Special: Bayley And Becky Lynch Receive Special Honor From WWE

That’s a different way to go. Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in WWE in recent years, to the point where it is now a major, serious part of any WWE event. That is a lot more than most fans would have believed to be possible and a lot of that is due to a core group of wrestlers who have made that much of an impact. Now two of those women are receiving quite the special treatment. Tread Carefully: Brock Lesnar Reportedly Faces Backstage Heat Over Royal Rumble Tirade

He’s not like everyone else. There is no one quite like Brock Lesnar in the history of professional wrestling. With his amateur skills, mixed martial arts training and pure strength, Lesnar is not someone who can be duplicated. WWE knows this and has presented him as one of the biggest stars in the company’s history. That does not mean Lesnar is immune to criticism though and now he is in a bit of hot water. This week we’ll be seeing another match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, which should have some Bloodline implications. In addition, Gunther is defending the Intercontinental Title against Braun Strowman. Let’s get to it. Intercontinental Title: Braun Strowman vs. Gunther Strowman is challenging and wearing boots designed by a boy who died in the Waukesha parade shootings. Feeling process to start as Gunther is a bit hesitant to go after him. Strowman manages to send him outside though and the running shoulder sends Gunther into the announcers’ table. We take a break and come back with Strowman getting posted, allowing Gunther to start in on the arm. The armbar goes on but Strowman powers up, only to fall down when the arm gives out. Welcome to the team. There have been a lot of changes throughout the WWE roster in recent months and there is nothing to suggest that they are going to end anytime soon. That is the kind of thing that can make for some very interesting moments, as you never know who might show up in what spot. Another debut took place this week in quite the important moment. Late in the match, Fyre climbed a ladder, but former NXT UK star Isla Dawn appeared and shoved Fyre off the ladder and through the announcers’ table, allowing Rose to retain her title. Money In The Bank Briefcase Cashed In On Monday Night Raw In Brand New Way

There it goes. WWE offers several annual traditions, many of which involve championships and shots at them. There are ways to earn a guaranteed title shot at some point down the line, but there is one that lets the challenger choose their shot whenever the feel like it. That was the case this week, but it was in a completely different way than it has ever been done before. This week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins issued an open challenge for a shot at the United States Title. Before the match, Bobby Lashley came to the ring and attacked Rollins, putting him through the announcers’ table. Mr. Money In The Bank Austin Theory came to the ring and cashed in his briefcase for a title shot against Rollins. Theory went on to lose the title shot after Lashley interfered. This marked the first time the briefcase has ever been used for anything but a World Title shot. Opinion: It was very different, but I like the idea a lot. That’s just awesome. There are a lot of ways to film a wrestling match and some of the best involve making the fans feel like they are right there watching things live. It is difficult to figure out how to make it work that well, but every so often you get a special moment that is a lot closer than anything else. That was the case this week in one of the coolest shots you will ever see. The main event of WWE Crown Jewel 2022 saw Logan Paul unsuccessfully challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title. During the match, Paul laid Reigns on the announcers’ table and hit a frog splash to drive him through it. However, before he dove, Paul picked up a phone and filmed himself diving, with the clip having now been posted online. You don’t see this every day. Monday Night Raw Date: October 17, 2022 Location: Paycom Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick We’re rapidly approaching Crown Jewel and WWE has the main event covered with Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns. Popular Name Gone From WWE After Six Years With The Company

There goes another one. WWE has been shaken up in several different ways recently and those changes do not seem to be slowing down whatsoever. With a new regime in charge of the company, all kinds of names have been moved around into different spots, with some people leaving altogether. That is the case again, as another popular name has departed from WWE. According to PWInsider.com, Nigel McGuinness has been released from WWE. This comes after WWE has shaken up their announcing teams with all shows now moving to two announcers. McGuinness is the second commentator to leave WWE after Jimmy Smith earlier this week. McGuinness has worked for the company since 2016 and has done commentary on Main Event, 205 Live, NXT UK and NXT. There is no word on where he will be working next. Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise after everything was shaken up yesterday but it is also a shame as McGuinness was one of the better commentators in WWE. They seem to be fans. There are certain moments in wrestling that get fans’ emotions going. It can be a lot of fun to see someone getting to do something that makes things interesting but they are pretty rare. You know them when you see them though and that seemed to be the case last weekend. It was so good that even the commentary team got excited. At WWE Money In The Bank, Liv Morgan won the women’s Money In The Bank briefcase and cashed in on the same night, defeating Ronda Rousey to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. WWE has released a video from the announcers’ table, showing Pat McAfee and Michael Cole’s reaction, with the two of them jumping up in excitement over the cash-in and title change. Double Homecoming: Two NXT Stars Expected To Return From Injury Soon

Twice as nice. Injuries are a terrible thing to see in wrestling as they can keep someone on the shelf for a long time, but they can also lead to some nice returns. Having someone come back from an injury is great to see as they can return refreshed and able to do something they have not done in a long time. That might be the case again soon in NXT, times two. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both Io Shirai and Zoey Stark are expected to return to the ring relatively soon, though no specific date was given for either. Shirai has not wrestled since the April 2 Stand & Deliver when she hit the announcers’ table on a moonsault to the floor. Stark has been out of action since October as she is recovering from surgery for a torn ACL. Opinion: That is a great thing to see as the two of them have both been out of action for a long time. WWE Offers Medical Update On Two Banged Up Stars

They’re a bit banged up. WWE has a lot of television time available to them and it can be difficult to find ways to fill in all of that time. The company has several wrestlers available to help, but sometimes they need to make a few changes for the sake of a little freshening up. That seems to be the case again, as we might not be seeing a pair of stars, at least for a little bit. The main event of this week’s SmackDown saw the Usos defeat RKBro to unify the SmackDown and Raw Tag Team Titles. Following the match, the Bloodline attacked RKBro and laid both of them out, including putting Riddle through the announcers’ table. After the show, WWE released a medical update on Riddle and Randy Orton. Riddle has suffered a bruised hip and lower back while Orton will be undergoing a medical evaluation. Turn And Turn: Monday Night Raw Title Change Sets Up Heel Turn

History has been made! Titles have been one of the key points in wrestling since the beginnings of the sport and they will continue to be for a long time to come. Anyone can understand the idea of a championship and anyone can idea of someone winning a title from someone else. That was the case this week, as not only did a title change hands, but something else happened after the match. Finn Balor defeated Damian Priest to win the United States Title for the first time this week on Monday Night Raw. After the match, Priest said the fans carried Balor to a win and that they never supported him like that during his title reigns. Priest said he would get the title back and then attacked Balor, giving him a Razor’s Edge on the announcers’ table, turning heel in the process. There is no word on when a rematch will take place. VIDEO: Paul Heyman Tries To Get In A Match After SmackDown

The hot tag specialist. A manager can be one of the most valuable parts of a show as you can have them do all kinds of things. They offer something every time they are a part of a match and that can even mean getting in the ring at times. These situations are not always the most successful, but every now and then you get to see something that is truly different, which was the case this week. The post show dark match at this week’s WWE SmackDown taping saw the Bloodline face the Street Profits/Drew McIntyre in a six man tag. During the match, the Bloodline’s manager Paul Heyman took his jacket off and got on the apron. Heyman was tagged in and got in the ring, only to trip on the way in. Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits attacked Heyman until Jey Uso made the save, sending Heyman outside as fast as he could. WWE Reportedly Makes Surprising Release

That’s a surprise. There have been a lot of changes to the WWE landscape over the last year and a half, as all kinds of names have been released. That can cause a lot of jarring differences, but there are a few people you can almost count on to always be there. It turns out that will not be the case with another name though, as WWE may have let someone else go. According to PWInsider.com, WWE has released ring announcer Greg Hamilton, effective earlier this week. Hamilton reportedly took issue with rapper Westside Gunn using his voice and threatened to have WWE sue Gunn and was released soon after, though this is not confirmed as the reason for his release. Hamilton has removed all WWE mentions from his Twitter account and set it to private. Starting with WWE in 2015, Hamilton moved up from NXT and Tough Enough to become the voice of SmackDown. Until then we have Crown Jewel in less than two weeks, which is likely to get a lot of the focus tonight. Since it’s WWE, we also have a contract signing to deal with tonight. Let’s get to it. We open with the contract signing, with Bianca Belair in the ring, Sasha Banks on the announcers’ table and Becky Lynch at her own table in the aisle. Becky doesn’t think much of Belair, who she beat in 26 seconds and Banks, who looks like a disco ball. Banks thinks Becky is jealous because she’s a bigger star than the two of them. Belair doesn’t want to hear it and just wants to get the contract signed. Becky gets her attention so Banks runs in to jump Belair, meaning the brawl is on. Sticking to the classics. There are a lot of things that go into making someone a star in wrestling and some of them are a bit more obvious than others. One of the most important things is their entrance music, especially if it is part of a grand entrance package. That has been the case more than once over the years and someone paid tribute to a classic this week. A video has been posted to Twitter showing SmackDown broadcaster Pat McAfee making his entrance to Metallica’s Enter Sandman while carrying a Singapore cane. McAfee beat on the announcers’ table with the cane before taking his seat. This was done as a tribute to the Sandman, who wrestled in the original run of ECW. The big story last week was the return of Sasha Banks, who teamed with and then attacked Bianca Belair in the span of about an hour. There are still a lot of things to cover for the pay per view and odds are we’ll get some of that this week. Let’s get to it. Here is Sasha Banks to get things going. She talks about how she attacked Bianca Belair last week and we see a video about the return and beatdown. Banks says that Belair wouldn’t exist without her because she is the best of all time.
