On The Mend: Top WWE Star Confirms He Suffered Broken Ankle, To Miss Time

That’s a harsh one. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling as you never know when one is going to strike. Someone getting hurt can put them on the shelf for a long time and the question becomes how much time a wrestler is going to be out of action. Now a top WWE star is on the injured list again and now we know a bit more about just how bad things are. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Has Surprising John Cena Match Planned For WrestleMania 39 Earlier this week, AJ Styles injured his ankle during a six man tag match at a WWE live event. Styles had to be helped out of the arena but it was not clear how badly he was injured. Styles has since posted to Twitter, announcing that he has suffered a broken ankle, but he will not be undergoing surgery. There is no word on how long Styles will be out of the ring, though he did say it would be the longest absence of his career. Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with...

BREAKING: AJ Styles Injured At WWE Live Event, Helped To The Back

Uh oh. Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime in wrestling and there is no way to prevent them entirely. No matter who you are or how much experience and training a wrestler might have, there is always the chance that you could get hurt. It seems that was the case this week, as one of the most talented in-ring stars of his generation has suffered an injury. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Split: Becky Lynch’s Ex Explains The Breakdown Of Her Relationship With Charlotte According to PWInsider.com, AJ Styles suffered an injury during a six man tag at a WWE live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania. During a match between the OC and the Judgment Day, Styles is believed to have injured his ankle and had to be helped to the back. Styles will get the ankle checked out as soon as possible and there is no word on the severity of his injury. There is nothing to suggest that this is an angle of any kind and there is no word on if he will miss any ring time. That doesn’t look good. Check out Styles be..

Instead everything breaks down and the Elite hits a bunch of dives to take over. We settle back down to Omega working on Pac’s arm as Nick Jackson seems to have hurt his ankle on a dive. Bobby Lashley Fired On Raw This Week

Pick up your last check. In the closing moments of Raw this week, WWE official Adam Pearce got into a confrontation with Bobby Lashley following his main event match with Seth Rollins. The All Mighty was about to win the match and an opportunity at the United States Championship against Austin Theory when the referee was knocked out of the ring and twisted his ankle. This slight distraction allowed Rollins to recover and hit Lashley with a Pedigree out of a spear. Rollins would then make the cover to become the no. 1 contender for the championship. Following the match, Lashley would snap and take out his aggression on two referees. This caused Pearce to come to ringside for a confrontation and and after Lashley pushed Pierce down, Pierce said that The All Mighty was fired. .@fightbobby just got FIRED?!?! ?#WWERaw @ScrapDaddyAP pic.twitter.com/nWziVkY34s — WWE (@WWE) December 13, 2022 Editor’s Opinion: This was an interesting way to close the show and a plot twist I didn’t see com..

AEW Rampage Results – November 4, 2022

Rampage Date: November 4, 2022 Location: Jim Whalen Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, New Jersey Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Mike Tyson, Tony Schiavone You might notice an interesting guest star here as Iron Mike Tyson is making another appearance for the company. I’m not sure how well that is going to go, but Tyson is likely going to bring some energy. The big match this week is a special appearance by Katsuyori Shibata as he challenges Orange Cassidy for the All-Atlantic Title. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Mike Tyson gets a special entrance. Video on Katsuyori Shibata, who hits people very hard and is back after what appeared to be a career ending injury. All-Atlantic Title: Orange Cassidy vs. Katsuyori Shibata Cassidy is defending. They stare each other down so Shibata grabs a headlock takeover. A headscissors gets Cassidy out of trouble before cranking on the ankle. Shibata misses the big kick to the head and gets forearmed off the apron, setting up the suicide dive...

Possible Great News On Recent WWE Injury

That might not be so bad. There are all kinds of injuries that can take a wrestler out of action in the blink of an eye. Occasionally you won’t even see the injury take place and one day they are just on the shelf for some reason. No matter what happens, someone being hurt is never going to be a good situation. This time though, there is a chance that things could be different. This week on Monday Night Raw, the Street Profits’ Montez Ford accompanied Angelo Dawkins to the ring. However, Ford was wearing a walking boot and was unable to be involved in the match. According to Fightful Select, while there is no world on the nature of Ford’s injury, the walking boot was supplied by the WWE prop department. There is no word on when Ford will be back in the ring. Opinion: That is something rather interesting but above all else it is the hope spot that helps things the most. Ford having some kind of foot or ankle injury could have put him on the shelf for a long time. While that is still a..

NXT Results – September 27, 2022

NXT Date: September 27, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett Things got shaken up in a big way last week as Ilja Dragunov debuted to add quite the wild card. JD McDonagh is the new #1 contender to Bron Breakker’s NXT Title but Dragunov is going to be put into a top spot rather quickly. This should be interesting on top of everything else around here so let’s get to it. Here is Ilja Dragunov to get things going. He has beaten a monster to win gold before and now he is ready to do it again. This time it isn’t Gunther though, but rather Bron Breakker. Cue JD McDonagh to call Dragunov a sneaky, dirty little rat and to say that he hopes Dragunov’s ankle is healed. McDonagh offers to end Dragunov’s career but here is Breakker to interrupt. Breakker says the title isn’t going anywhere but McDonagh has an idea: Dragunov vs. Breakker with McDonagh being there for to face the winner. That doesn’t work for Breakker, who says if his ma..

NXT UK Results – August 4, 2022

NXT UK Date: August 4, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things should be getting a bit more energized around here as we had the big showdown for the United Kingdom Title last week. Ilja Dragunov is going to need a fresh opponent after dispatching Wolfgang and a bigger one would be nice. This week is a title week also, as we have Meiko Satomura defending the Women’s Title against Sarray. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is United Kingdom Champion Ilja Dragunov for a chat….and he’s on crutches. Dragunov says he suffered a severe ankle injury during his title defense last week (insert clip here) and that means he cannot defend his title. Therefore it has to be vacated, but he isn’t going to talk about how hard this is for him. Everyone back there is fighting hard every day and there is nothing special about him. He doesn’t regret anything he did in the ring and when he looks around the ring, there are bits of his so..

Catch You Later: WWE Star Attacked On SmackDown, May Miss Some Time

That could be some time off. There are a lot of very talented wrestlers in the world today and you will see a lot of them on WWE television. While there are some problems with the presentation at times, the wrestlers’ talent is certainly there and cannot be questioned in some cases. However, sometimes a wrestler will need to be out of action for one reason or another and that might be the case again. This week’s SmackDown featured a tag team match between New Day and the Viking Raiders. After the Viking Raiders won, the team attacked Xavier Woods and crushed his ankle using a chair. While not confirmed, there is a chance that this means Woods will be missing time from the ring to recover. Woods is also currently co-hosting the Arena on G4, which regularly features WWE stars. Opinion: I’m curious about what this means for Woods, as that is the kind of thing that is done to put him on the shelf for a long time. Maybe he is getting some time off for the sake of G4, but the SmackDown tag..

Yes, Again: Another AEW Star Hurt During Rampage Match

Yes again, but not too bad. AEW has a very talented roster but the company has been going through a nasty run of injuries in recent months. The company has had one wrestler injured after another and some of the wrestlers have been out of action over and over. That is the kind of thing that can take time to get over but thankfully the most recent injury might not be so bad. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW’s Rey Fenix was injured during the Lucha Bros vs. Private Party match on Rampage. Fenix was injured taking an atomic drop, hurting his ankle in the process. However, Fenix is said to be ok and has since wrestled another match in Mexico since the injury. It is not expected that he will be missing any time from AEW as a result. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that keeps happening in some way in AEW and there comes a point where it isn’t a run of bad luck or coincidences. I don’t know if AEW wrestlers are trying to go too fast or if they need more time in the ring or what,..

NXT UK Results – June 30, 2022

NXT UK Date: June 30, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd We’re back in England and the big story this week is the explanation from Trent Seven, even if it might seem pretty obvious why he turned on Tyler Bate. Other than that, we have Fallon Henley vs. Emilia McKenzie, as the NXT invasion continues. I’m sure this won’t be anything that annoys long term NXT UK viewers so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter vacating the NXT UK Tag Team Titles last week, with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen winning them in the show’s main event. Opening sequence. Blair Davenport vs. Angel Hayze This is Davenport’s first match since injuring her ankle in November. Davenport throws her down to start but Hayze grabs a front facelock. That doesn’t last long as Davenport hits a basement dropkick and we hit the chinlock. Some running knees give Davenport two as Nigel gets in a Chamber of Secrets reference. Hayze c..

WATCH: AEW Star Injured During Blood & Guts (This Is A Bit Nasty)

It can happen to anyone. Injuries are something that are a possibility in any match you see in wrestling. That is not a good thing but there is no way to guarantee complete safety. Sometimes things happen no matter what you do and it can be made even worse if a match is especially dangerous. That was the case again this week and someone got hurt, though it wasn’t even in an especially dangerous moment. AEW held its second Blood & Guts match this week on Dynamite, featuring two teams of six wrestlers each. During the match, Santana injured his leg while suplexing Daniel Garcia and twisting his knee or ankle in the process. He was taken out of the match and did not return, including not appearing on the top of the cage as his teammates celebrated their win. There is no word on how long he might be out of action. This is a bit rough to watch. Check out where the injury occurred: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: My goodness AEW’s luck continues to be horrible as it’s ..

Former World Champion Makes Surprise Return Over The Weekend

Welcome back. In almost any wrestling promotion, the World Title is what matters the most. Someone holding that title means that they have arrived as a major star and that they have become one of the most important people in the promotion. Even after they lose the title, they will always be a former World Champion and that has some value. One of those made his return this week after a long absence. Former Impact Wrestling World Champion Sami Callihan made his return to the company on Saturday at Under Siege. Moose had come to the ring and said that he was hijacking the show, which caused the lights to go out and a video to play announcing Callihan’s return as he cleared Moose from the ring. Callihan had been out of action since September after suffering a broken ankle. "THE DEATH MACHINE IS BACK!"@TheSamiCallihan #UnderSiege pic.twitter.com/1ilp52HpEe — IMPACT (@IMPACTWRESTLING) May 8, 2022 Opinion: Your mileage on Callihan may vary but he has been a star in Impact Wrestling since ..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – April 13, 2022

Dynamite Date: April 13, 2022 Location: UNO Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone It’s the start of a big week around here as we are on the third of five shows. There are some important matches set up for this card and there is a good chance that we could be in for a fun one. If nothing else, they are coming in off a white hot main event last week so hopefully they can keep up the momentum. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. CM Punk vs. Penta Obscuro Alex Abrahantes is here with Penta. Punk isn’t overly intimidated by Obscuro’s entrance and they stare each other down to start. That goes into the big chop off, with the fans getting right into this as soon as they get going. A superkick staggers Punk but he kicks Penta in the ribs to cut him off. Punk strikes away as commentary runs down tonight’s card, including Samoa Joe vs. Minoru Suzuki. The GTS is countered into an ankle lock and Punk gets sent to the floor. Some suicide dives t..

WATCH: NXT UK Title Match Ended Early Due To Nasty Injury

That doesn’t sound good. There are some very talented wrestlers in the world today and a lot of them could thrive at any level in any place around the industry. There are some things that are universal among them though and that includes the chance for them to be injured. Certain kinds of injuries can put someone on the shelf for a very long time and that seems to be what took place this week. The main event of this week’s edition of NXT UK featured a main event of NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura defending her title against Blair Davenport. The match saw Satomura successfully defend her title when the referee stopped the match due to Davenport suffering an injury. Late in the match, Davenport hit a top rope double stomp to Satomura as she laid on the apron. Davenport landed awkwardly and injured her ankle, resulting in the match being stopped. She would later send out a tweet, showing herself on crutches and her ankle in a cast. There is no word on how long Davenport will be ou..

Some Surprising Draft Picks Take Place On Monday Night Raw

Meet the new stars. WWE has so many wrestlers that it is able to separate them into three different groups. That is not something many promotions can do, but it is nice to have that many resources available. Monday Night Raw and SmackDown serve as the main rosters, while NXT is a developmental system. Sometimes you see stars come up though, and that was the case this week. There were some NXT names drafted this week on Monday Night Raw, with both names going to SmackDown. First up, Xia Li was selected in Round Three. Li has been part of the Tian Sha stable, along with Boa and Mei Ying. Later, Ridge Holland was selected in Round Six. Holland returned from a broken ankle earlier this summer and continued his alliance with Pete Dunne. You might need to get used to them. Check out the new stars in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of the things that can be the m..

Former World Champion Suffers Broken Ankle, Out For Year

It can happen to anyone. You have all kinds of wrestlers on any given roster and unfortunately some of them are going to get hurt at one point or another. There is no way around it and some of the injuries are a lot worse than others. Unfortunately it seems that someone has been hurt again and now it is going to be a long time before we see him in in the ring again. According to Dave Meltzer, Sami Callihan suffered a broken ankle at this weekend’s Impact Wrestling taping and will be out of action until spring 2022. There is no word on how Callihan broke his ankle at the taping or what will be done to make up for his absence. Callihan is a former Impact Wrestling World Champion and teamed with Eddie Edwards in a losing effort against Moose and W. Morrissey at Victory Road over the weekend. Sami Callihan suffered a broken ankle Saturday at the Impact tapings and had surgery. Looks to be out until spring 2022. — Dave Meltzer (@davemeltzerWON) September 20, 2021 Callihan is a big loss ..

Details On Natalya’s Injury, Including Surgery

That’s a relief. Injuries can be devastating to both wrestlers and wrestling companies. They can derail plans, but far more importantly they can derail careers. A wrestler might never be the same after an injury and it can stop everything they are doing at a moment’s notice. Finding out how bad things are can be a rather scary process, but we might be getting some good news this time around. Natalya suffered some sort of a leg injury during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Her knee gave out during a tag match and she did not return to the ring. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Natalya suffered an ankle injury, but an MRI revealed that the damage was “better than expected”. Natalya is expected to be out for a few weeks, meaning that WWE will not have to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Titles. On Friday, Natalya tweeted out a photo of her ankle in a cast, revealing that she has had surgery to repair the unspecified injury. There is no word on when she will be back in ..
