Even the boss needs help now and then. Stephanie McMahon recently posted a message to Twitter, saying that she recently underwent successful ankle surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. First up, we have the battle for the World Title and the Dynamite Diamond Ring with Ricky Starks challenging MJF. Other than that, it’s the fourth match in the best of seven series between the Elite and the Death Triangle. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Elite vs. Death Triangle Match #4 in a Best Of 7 series with Death Triangle up 2-1 and Don Callis on commentary. Matt and Penta start things off with neither being able to get the better of things. Bobby Lashley Fired On Raw This Week

Pick up your last check. In the closing moments of Raw this week, WWE official Adam Pearce got into a confrontation with Bobby Lashley following his main event match with Seth Rollins. The All Mighty was about to win the match and an opportunity at the United States Championship against Austin Theory when the referee was knocked out of the ring and twisted his ankle. This slight distraction allowed Rollins to recover and hit Lashley with a Pedigree out of a spear. Rollins would then make the cover to become the no. 1 contender for the championship. Following the match, Lashley would snap and take out his aggression on two referees. That might not be so bad. There are all kinds of injuries that can take a wrestler out of action in the blink of an eye. Occasionally you won’t even see the injury take place and one day they are just on the shelf for some reason. No matter what happens, someone being hurt is never going to be a good situation. This time though, there is a chance that things could be different. This week on Monday Night Raw, the Street Profits’ Montez Ford accompanied Angelo Dawkins to the ring. However, Ford was wearing a walking boot and was unable to be involved in the match. According to Fightful Select, while there is no world on the nature of Ford’s injury, the walking boot was supplied by the WWE prop department. There is no word on when Ford will be back in the ring. That could be some time off. There are a lot of very talented wrestlers in the world today and you will see a lot of them on WWE television. While there are some problems with the presentation at times, the wrestlers’ talent is certainly there and cannot be questioned in some cases. However, sometimes a wrestler will need to be out of action for one reason or another and that might be the case again. This week’s SmackDown featured a tag team match between New Day and the Viking Raiders. After the Viking Raiders won, the team attacked Xavier Woods and crushed his ankle using a chair. While not confirmed, there is a chance that this means Woods will be missing time from the ring to recover. Woods is also currently co-hosting the Arena on G4, which regularly features WWE stars. Opinion: I’m curious about what this means for Woods, as that is the kind of thing that is done to put him on the shelf for a long time. Yes, Again: Another AEW Star Hurt During Rampage Match

Yes again, but not too bad. AEW has a very talented roster but the company has been going through a nasty run of injuries in recent months. The company has had one wrestler injured after another and some of the wrestlers have been out of action over and over. That is the kind of thing that can take time to get over but thankfully the most recent injury might not be so bad. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW’s Rey Fenix was injured during the Lucha Bros vs. Private Party match on Rampage. Fenix was injured taking an atomic drop, hurting his ankle in the process. However, Fenix is said to be ok and has since wrestled another match in Mexico since the injury. It is not expected that he will be missing any time from AEW as a result. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that keeps happening in some way in AEW and there comes a point where it isn’t a run of bad luck or coincidences. It can happen to anyone. Injuries are something that are a possibility in any match you see in wrestling. That is not a good thing but there is no way to guarantee complete safety. Sometimes things happen no matter what you do and it can be made even worse if a match is especially dangerous. That was the case again this week and someone got hurt, though it wasn’t even in an especially dangerous moment. AEW held its second Blood & Guts match this week on Dynamite, featuring two teams of six wrestlers each. During the match, Santana injured his leg while suplexing Daniel Garcia and twisting his knee or ankle in the process. He was taken out of the match and did not return, including not appearing on the top of the cage as his teammates celebrated their win. There is no word on how long he might be out of action. Former World Champion Makes Surprise Return Over The Weekend

Welcome back. In almost any wrestling promotion, the World Title is what matters the most. Someone holding that title means that they have arrived as a major star and that they have become one of the most important people in the promotion. Even after they lose the title, they will always be a former World Champion and that has some value. One of those made his return this week after a long absence. Former Impact Wrestling World Champion Sami Callihan made his return to the company on Saturday at Under Siege. Moose had come to the ring and said that he was hijacking the show, which caused the lights to go out and a video to play announcing Callihan’s return as he cleared Moose from the ring. There are some things that are universal among them though and that includes the chance for them to be injured. Certain kinds of injuries can put someone on the shelf for a very long time and that seems to be what took place this week. The main event of this week’s edition of NXT UK featured a main event of NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura defending her title against Blair Davenport. The match saw Satomura successfully defend her title when the referee stopped the match due to Davenport suffering an injury. That is not something many promotions can do, but it is nice to have that many resources available. Monday Night Raw and SmackDown serve as the main rosters, while NXT is a developmental system. It can happen to anyone. You have all kinds of wrestlers on any given roster and unfortunately some of them are going to get hurt at one point or another. There is no way around it and some of the injuries are a lot worse than others. Unfortunately it seems that someone has been hurt again and now it is going to be a long time before we see him in in the ring again. According to Dave Meltzer, Sami Callihan suffered a broken ankle at this weekend’s Impact Wrestling taping and will be out of action until spring 2022. There is no word on how Callihan broke his ankle at the taping or what will be done to make up for his absence. A wrestler might never be the same after an injury and it can stop everything they are doing at a moment’s notice. Finding out how bad things are can be a rather scary process, but we might be getting some good news this time around. Natalya suffered some sort of a leg injury during this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Her knee gave out during a tag match and she did not return to the ring. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Natalya suffered an ankle injury, but an MRI revealed that the damage was “better than expected”. Natalya is expected to be out for a few weeks, meaning that WWE will not have to vacate the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
