Monday Night Raw Results – February 6, 2023

Monday Night Raw Date: February 6, 2023 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves We are less than two weeks away from Elimination Chamber and that means it is time to start getting more qualifying matches out of the way. In addition to that though, we have a cage match between Bayley and Becky Lynch which should be a heck of a showdown. That should be enough but Cody Rhodes will be somewhere as well. Let’s get to it. Here are Edge and Beth Phoenix for a chat, but first we see a clip of Edge quitting at Extreme Rules to save Beth from a Conchairto, which happened anyway. Then they returned at Elimination Chamber, where they took out Judgment Day again. In the arena, Edge talks about how he wanted Judgment Day to be about finding new talent. We hear about the members of the team but then everything fell apart. The team attacked Edge so here is their golf clap. Fans: “YOU STILL GOT IT!” Edge: “I never lost it!” Beth wants to get the fight on bu..

REVIEW: Payback 2020: The Summerslam Sequel

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Payback 2020 Date: August 30, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton, Michael Cole, Corey Graves We’re back on pay per view less than a week after the last one ended, because that’s a thing that needed to happen. This time around we have the big main event of the Fiend defending the Smackdown World Title against Braun Strowman and a surprisingly heel Roman Reigns, with Paul Heyman in his corner. That sounds like it could have some serious legs so let’s get..

SmackDown Results – July 15, 2022

Smackdown Date: July 15, 2022 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We have about two weeks to go before Summerslam and the question for tonight is “does anything besides Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns matter”. WWE has turned Summerslam into a one match show and that doesn’t leave much for this week. We are getting a Street Profit vs. an Uso though, just in case you wanted some variety. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Michael Cole is in the ring to open things up and introduces Pat McAfee, who has signed a multi year extension to remain in WWE. McAfee talks about how special it is to be here for him because he loves this so much. After a rather pro-Pat chant, McAfee thanks the fans for putting up with Corey Graves for two weeks while he was gone. That included BUM A** CORBIN being an idiot last week, complete with video. McAfee talks about how he and Corbin knew each other before they even came to WWE. They were roommates together as rook..

REVIEW: Royal Rumble 2016: One vs. All

Royal Rumble 2016 Date: January 24, 2016 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Attendance: 15,170 Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield, Byron Saxton Now this one actually has my interest for a change. A year ago, WWE decided that the right idea was to have WWE World Champion Roman Reigns fight everyone in a single match for the title. This is completely different as now he fights everyone for the US Title. Anyway, the whole thing is about the main event, as it should be, so let’s get to it. Pre-S..

REVIEW: NXT Takeover: Orlando: Homecoming And Farewell

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Takeover: Orlando Date: April 1, 2017 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Attendance: 14,975 Commentators: Tom Phillips, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson It’s already time for another Takeover as the time between these things is seemingly getting shorter and shorter. If nothing else it certainly feels that way and that’s not the best thing in the world. These shows need time to build up and they’re not getting as much time now. Still though, if Bobby Roode vs. Shinsuke Nakamura can be as good as it was before, ..

Main Event Results – August 12, 2021

Main Event Date: August 12, 2021 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton This show continues to vex me but the last few weeks have taken away some of the fun that it can offer. They are getting back into the funk that has a tendency to stick around for years around here and I’m not sure if we are going to see it broken up anytime soon. At least the Summerslam build should be….let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Aliyah vs. Dakota Kai Kai is suddenly a face here, even with commentary explaining her issues with Raquel Gonzalez. They trade waistlocks to start and Aliyah doesn’t seem impressed, even as she hides in the ropes. Back up and Kai takes her down by the arm, setting up a running dropkick for two. Aliyah gets in something like an Eye of the Hurricane out of the corner for two of her own and there’s a toss into another corner. The crossarm choke goes on to keep Kai in trouble but she powers up for the break without much trouble. There’s ..

REVIEW: Summerslam 2020: You’ll Never See It Coming

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Summerslam 2020 Date: August 23, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe It’s finally time to try this out and yes it’s another Thunder Dome show, which may or may not mean anything to you if you’re reading this in 2273. Basically there are no fans live in the arena, but there are pictures of several of them scared to move because of all of the conditions WWE has included to allow them to be shown on screen. Other than that, we h..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – August 9, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: August 9, 2021 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s a homecoming of sorts for Raw as they are back in the original Thunderdome about a year after they arrived in the first place. We are less than two weeks away from Summerslam and while most of the card is set, there are still a few adjustments that need to be made. Now just don’t have a horrible show. Let’s get to it. Here is the returning Randy Orton to a heck of a face reaction. Orton grabs the mic but here’s Riddle to cut him off. Riddle is REALLY happy that Orton is back because now they can be a team again. Riddle wants to know where Orton has been because his stepdad left like that too and never came home. Orton asks why Riddle thinks Orton wants to be a team with someone as goofy as Riddle. He talks about how ridiculous Riddle is, prompting Riddle to ask if that means Orton doesn’t want to team with him. Cue Omos and AJ Styles, with AJ talk..

VIDEO: Bayley Says Goodbye To WWE Thunderdome

It’s been a ride. In less than a week, WWE will be back in front of a full capacity of fans for the first time in nearly a year and a half. That is the kind of change that can shake up the company in a very good way and it marks the end of an era. While that era might not have been the best, there were some great things about it. Now a WWE star is looking back at those things. SmackDown’s Bayley has released a video on her Twitter looking at the Thunderdome as it is being taken apart. This is the final version of the Thunderdome, which has been held in three different venues: the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida and the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. WWE will be back on the road starting with the July 16 SmackDown from Houston, Texas. The Thunderdome began back in August 2020 and was WWE new location after leaving the WWE Performance Center. Rather than having physical fans in attendance, the venue was filled with digital fans, made up..

Main Event Results – December 10, 2020

Main Event Date: December 10, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe It’s the last show in the Amway Center before everything moves over to Tropicana Field. Somehow Main Event has actually shaken things up a bit in recent weeks and I could go for more of that. This is the kind of thing that the show has needed for….well several years now and hopefully that is the case again. Let’s get to it. In Memory of Pat Patterson. Opening sequence. Here is Elias to open things up….and Jaxson Ryker of all people is with him. Elias talks about being electrocuted on Raw last week but he can still play his guitar like this. The electricity gave him a vision though, just like Ryker. The vision taught him that the universal truth is WWE stands for WALK WITH ELIAS. Cue R-Truth with the usual band of idiots, with Ryker taking out Akira Tozawa. Truth gets on the commentary table and says that he likes his own song better. Rapping ensues. We recap Roman Reig..

Main Event Results – November 26, 2020

Main Event Date: November 26, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe It’s the holiday edition of the show and that is not likely to mean a single thing around here. Main Event continues to be a show that just kind of floats around, though in this case the show is going to be Raw only as Survivor Series has come and gone. Therefore Smackdown ceases to exist for this week, which could be a good thing. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We open with MizTV with , Miz and Morrison doing their usual intro by plugging everything. With that out of the way, it’s time to bring out their guests: Retribution. Miz and Morrison enjoy Retribution’s theme song as I try to figure out what in the world I’m watching. Morrison asks what’s up with their weird names, which Mustafa Ali doesn’t care to hear. Ali talks about being mocked for his name his entire life and now that is all changing. Reckoning says she gave everything out here and wasn’t respected ev..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – November 13, 2020

Smackdown Date: November 13, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves We’re less than two weeks away from Survivor Series and that means it’s time to get the rest of the men’s elimination team set up in a hurry. Other than that I would say it would be nice to hear something about the champion vs. champion matches but that ship seems to have sailed. Let’s get to it. Here are Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman to get things going, with the commentators actually talking about Reigns vs. Randy Orton or Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series on the way to the ring. Reigns says Heyman calls this the Island Of Relevancy because Reigns makes everyone relevant. Jey Uso was the one who made you ask which twin he was but thanks to Reigns, he’s Main Event Jey Uso. Over the last two weeks he has beaten Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens and then at Survivor Series it will be him leading Smackdown to victory. Then Reigns will beat the secondary champion on the same nig..

WATCH: What WWE Is Banning From The Thunder Dome

You just made the list! WWE has had to make some big changes this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic and those changes are likely going to last for a very long time to come. There isn’t much of a way around that but some of the changes have worked out well. One of those is the Thunder Dome, which has a very unique look, and also some rules to go with it. Back in August, WWE moved its television into the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, which had been refitted with a series of video screens around the arena featuring shots of fans watching at home. That is a rather cool visual to see every week, but it has a few details that make things more complicated. For instance, how do you make sure that what the fans are showing is acceptable? WWE has issued some guidance and it includes an interesting list. The Famous Group, who designed the Thunder Dome, received a Digital Dan Experience Award at the 2020 Spotel Awards for their efforts in putting the Thunder Dome together. The group aired..

Main Event Results – October 29, 2020

Main Event Date: October 29, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton It’s the post pay per view edition of the show and that means there is absolutely nothing to be seen from Smackdown. That’s one of the weird things that happens around here and while it makes perfect sense, it puts a lot of focus on Raw, which often isn’t the best idea in the world. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tucker vs. Humberto Carrillo Tucker, now in regular trunks to show that he’s EVIL, drives Carrillo into the corner but gets caught in a headlock for his efforts. The springboard spinning crossbody gives Carrillo two but he’s right back with a belly to back suplex for the same. The chinlock doesn’t last long as commentary talks about anything but this match. Some Junkyard Dog style all fours headbutts have Carrillo in more trouble and there’s a bodyscissors, which is rather anti-JYD. Tucker misses the falling headbutt though and Carrillo hits a dropkick fo..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – October 5, 2020

Monday Night Raw Date: October 5, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton The road to the Cell continues as we are now less than three weeks away from the next pay per view. There is little secret to the fact that we are coming up on Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre III inside the Cell for McIntyre’s title, though the match has not been announced just yet. Let’s get to it. Randy Orton is in the back where he talks about how he could have left Clash Of Champions as WWE Champion. Instead, he left in an ambulance. He remembers a little bit about the match, which included Big Show, Christian and Shawn Michaels all interfering and Ric Flair driving the ambulance away. All Orton felt was excruciating pain and then the next night, Drew McIntyre stood in front of the four of them and celebrated. That sight made him sick and then the four of them played poker all night. It was too much for Orton, so he turned out the lights, grabbed some..

WWE RUMOR: Two WWE Shows Moving To Performance Center

Load up the trucks. The Coronavirus has changed the way the wrestling world works and WWE has certainly been no exception. There are only so many ways to present a wrestling show in a small building and at times, something needs to be changed. WWE has made such changes by moving from the Performance Center into the Amway Center. That might not be the only change they make though. One of the biggest problems with the Performance Center was it did not seem to fit the image of a major wrestling promotion. The building is not very bit and is only going to be able to handle so much as far as a production goes. There wasn’t much that WWE could do with it for Monday Night Raw and SmackDown, but they have some other shows available and are taking advantage of one. According to Post Wrestling, WWE is moving both NXT and 205 Live to the Performance Center starting this Sunday with Takeover: 31. There is no word on why the change is being made so suddenly. NXT has been taped at Full Sail Univer..

205 Live Results – September 25, 2020

205 Live Date: September 25, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Byron Saxton, Nigel McGuinness Last week saw 205 Live turn into the Ariya Daivari Show and I’m not sure why anyone thought that was going to be their best idea. Thankfully this show has a tendency to change things up almost weekly so there is a good chance that it will be something different this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Mansoor vs. Ashante Adonis Adonis takes him down in a hurry to start and throws in an early taunt. That earns Adonis an armbar and you can see the frustration/surprise setting in. Adonis fights up and spins out so Mansoor takes him down with a reverse DDT. Back up and Adonis snaps Mansoor’s throat across the top to put him outside and a neckbreaker gets two. We hit the chinlock for a bit, followed by a flapjack to give Adams two more. Mansoor jawbreaks his way to freedom from another chinlock and something close to a Vader Bomb gives him a breather. The middle r..

Florida Governor Changes Coronavirus Policy, How Wrestling Could Be Affected

The more things change. The biggest story in the world over the course of the summer has been the Coronavirus, which has certainly been the case in the wrestling industry. Wrestling companies can have events without fans, but there are only so many ways that such a thing can be done. At some point you need to have fans in the arena to add the extra energy as well as money. That might be the case in the near future. Over the last few months, both AEW and WWE have been running their events exclusively in Florida. WWE has been in Orlando at either the Performance Center or the Amway Center while AEW has been in Jacksonville at Daily’s Place. Only AEW has been able to bring in some fans, with about 15% capacity for their events. Those numbers might be about to expand in a big way. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered that all restrictions on businesses be removed as Florida enters Phase Three of its recovery efforts. This means that crowds could be ..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – September 25, 2020

Smackdown Date: September 25, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Corey Graves, Michael Cole It’s the go home show for Clash Of Champions though the Smackdown side of things might not interest you the most. The blue main event for Sunday’s show will feature Roman Reigns defending against Jey Uso, which kind of slows down the interest that the show is going to have. Maybe the last show before Sunday can help things out. Let’s get to it. In Memory of Road Warrior Animal. Here are AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and Jeff Hardy for a Championship Ascension ceremony to set up the ladder match. Corey Graves, the emcee, explains the match and says there is no champion’s advantage. AJ says Jeff must think the title feels heavy because it’s the last time he’ll be holding it. As for Sami, why are you here? He took six months off to grow a neck beard and still thinks he’s champion. Sami accuses AJ of being stupid for winning a tournament and calls Jeff’s title a shampionship. Jef..
