Impact Wrestling Date: January 12, 2023 Location: Charles F. Dodge City Center, Pembroke Pines, Florida Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the go home show for Hard To Kill and since Impact does their pay per views on Fridays, the show is tomorrow night. That should mean the card is intact but you never know around here. Hopefully the roll can continue around here, as it has been a rather nice few weeks in a row. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Bully Ray’s rise to the top of the company, including him attacking Scott D’Amore last week. We get a Zoom interview with Josh Matthews talking to Bully Ray and Josh Alexander, both at their homes. Alexander knows Ray is going after everyone he cares about and they will be in his mind at Hard To Kill. Ray thinks Alexander has given away his hand because Ray is in his head. WATCH: Former World Champion Makes Surprise SmackDown Return

Welcome home. With so many stars on the WWE roster, it can be difficult to figure out a way to get noticed. There are certin stars who are much bigger than others though and most of them have been a World Champion at some point in their careers. It can mean a lot to have one of them show up, and that is what we got to see again this week in a surprise return. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LISTEN: Enzo Amore Releases Tribute Song To Hacksaw Jim Duggan The opening match of this week’s SmackDown saw Solo Sikoa defeat Sheamus. Following the match, Sikoa went to attack Sheamus again but Drew McIntyre returned to make the save. LISTEN: Enzo Amore Releases Tribute Song To Hacksaw Jim Duggan

That’s a special tribute. Music has played a big part in wrestling for decades as the right theme song can make or break a wrestler. That can be easier said than done as picking a proper song can be difficult. At times there are wrestlers who are able to put together their own music, but this time around a wrestler has put together a song for one of the more recognizable legends in wrestling history. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Safe At Home: Hacksaw Jim Duggan Explains How He Stopped An Intruder At Gunpoint Enzo Amore, under his musical name of Real1, has released a song called Hacksaw, a tribute to WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The lyrics include a repeated reference to Duggan waving the flag and standing up for his country. There is nothing to suggest that Duggan was involved in the creation of the song in any way. Amore has released music since he left WWE and performed his own theme song during his time with the company. It’s a nice idea. Check out the song, plus the two in t..

Until Next Time: Two Stars Stepping Away From Wrestling

It might be a bit. Wrestlers are people who tend to move around a lot, as you do not often see someone who stays in one place permanently. There is always another place to wrestle in front of fresh fans with fresh eyes. It means wrestlers will leave one promotion for another every now and then, but this time we are seeing some people leave, presumably for no particular place. Impact Wrestling’s The IInspiration, comprised of Jesse McKay and Cassie Lee, have announced that they will be stepping away from wrestling at the moment. The team gave no reason for their departure. The statement also thanked Scott D’Amore and Impact Wrestling for the memories. There is no word on where the two will wrestle next, or if they ever will. Thank you @IMPACTWRESTLING ?? pic.twitter.com/S2GjB3f9K8 — Jessica McKay (@JessicaMcKay) April 27, 2022 Opinion: I’m not sure what is going on here but it seems like one or both members of the team need some time away from the ring for whatever reason. Maybe it ..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 17, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: February 17, 2022 Location: Charles Dodge Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s the go home show for No Surrender and the show is looking good. We have a double main event of W. Morrissey challenging Moose for the World Title, plus Honor No More fighting Team Impact to stick around the company. There is enough other good stuff here to make me interested in the show so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Here is Moose for the No Surrender contract signing. Scott D’Amore is in the ring but before W. Morrissey comes out, Moose explains what a contract signing means. There is no Morrissey for some reason, but D’Amore says Morrissey can sign the contract any time in the next two days. Moose isn’t happy, but if Morrissey makes the match, pain is waiting on him. He signs and then goes to leave, where Morrissey jumps him on the ramp. The fight is on and Moose gets chokeslammed off the stage and through a well placed table. Now..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – January 1, 2018: Feels Like It Was Just Four Years Ago

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: January 1, 2018 Location: American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Booker T. It’s a new year (yes it is) and that probably doesn’t mean much. We’ll be getting ready for the Royal Rumble in less than a month and tonight that includes an appearance by Brock Lesnar. Other than that we have Roman Reigns defending the Intercontinental Title against Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander challenging Enzo Amore for the Cruiserweight Title. Let’s get to it. Alexa Bl..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 30, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: December 30, 2021 Hosts: Josh Matthews, Scott D’Amore It’s the last show of the year and just like last week, that means it is time for the second half of the Best Of 2021. That could make for a good show, as Impact Wrestling knows how to pick and choose their best stuff. There should be some solid picks here, as was the case last week. We also have some more awards to hand out so let’s get to it. As usual, I’ll be copying and pasting the full version of the matches rather than the clipped ones airing here. Josh and Scott welcome us to the show. We see the last few minutes of Moose retaining the World Title over Eddie Edwards in a Full Metal Mayhem match at Turning Point. Kaleb With A K is doing a photo shoot for the Influence when the IInspiration interrupts. They insults each other’s outfits and the IInspiration’s own photographer comes in, leaving Kaleb With A K unhappy. From Bound For Glory. Impact Wrestling Results – December 23, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: December 23, 2021 Hosts: Josh Matthews, Scott D’Amore We’ve reached a holiday weekend and that means it is time for a special show. In other words, Impact is putting the brakes on the build to Hard To Kill and showcasing the Best of 2021 instead, which should make for a good night. The company has been doing well this year and they have some solid stuff to pick from, so let’s get to it. Of note: if a match is included, I’ll posting the full version rather than a clipped version. Opening sequence. From Hard To Kill. Kenny Omega/Good Brothers vs. Rich Swann/Moose/Chris Sabin Don Callis is here too and handles Omega’s entrance (which Striker says is a moment fans will be telling their children about). Anderson drives Sabin into the corner to start and a shot to the face has Sabin in some trouble. An armdrag gets him right back out though and we have a standoff. Moose and Gallows get in for the big man showdown with Moose knocking him around. Omega comes in, wi..

AEW’s Britt Baker Being Recruited By Another Company’s Champion

Put her on the wait list? AEW has come a long way in a relatively short amount of time and most of that is due to their roster. The company has been very successful due to the mixture of talent that they have assembled, which continues to grow week by week. A lot of wrestlers want to be part of the company, but this time someone wants to borrow one of its top wrestlers. In a new interview with Fightful, Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo said that she wants to team with AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker to challenge for the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Purrazzo mentioned that she had spoken to Impact Wrestling and AEW executives Scott D’Amore and Tony Khan about making this happen. AEW regularly works with Impact Wrestling, including AEW’s Christian Cage, who is the reigning Impact Wrestling World Champion. This could work. Former WWE World Champion Seen Meeting With Impact Wrestling Boss

That’s sounding serious. WWE and AEW get most of the attention in the wrestling world but there are all kinds of other promotions out there, many of which have a lot to offer. Several promotions can easily be seen by the masses and that makes for some very nice opportunities for wrestlers around the world. One big name might be about to move on to one of them. According to PWInsider.com, former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman met with Impact Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore over the weekend. The two met at a hotel bar in Detroit, where the Motor City Comic Con was being held. The meeting was said to last for “a long time” and comes after Strowman has reportedly been in negotiations with Impact Wrestling. Impact Wrestling has been working on surprises for next Saturday’s Bound For Glory event. He might be bound for Impact. Enzo Amore Might Be Returning To Wrestling TV Soon

One more time? Every so often, you see a wrestler who catches the fans’ attention through pure charisma. They might not have the strongest in-ring abilities but they have something that makes them stand out and get the audience in their corner. Unfortunately it might not always be the most successful, but now such a star might be getting another chance to show what he can do. During this week’s edition of MLW Fusion ALPHA, company executive Cesar Duran mentioned that the company was in discussions with nZo, formerly known as Enzo Amore. NZo did not appear on the show and there is no word on when he could appear. Following his departure from WWE in 2018, nZo has wrestled around the independent circuit, primarily in New England Wrestling. There is a lot here. Check out the full show plus who might be coming to MLW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: There are very few wrestlers wh..

Impact Wrestling Results – September 23, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: September 23, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker We are a month away from Bound For Glory and it seems that we have a main event. At Victory Road, X-Division Champion Josh Alexander announced that he was using Option C to cash in his title for a shot at Christian Cage’s World Title. This has been teased for a few weeks now and is the absolute best idea that they have at the moment. Alexander feels unbeatable and that comes from months of putting in the effort. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Here is Scott D’Amore to get things going. He explains Option C and brings out Josh Alexander, but reminds him that once he hands over the title, a tournament begins to crown a new champion. Therefore, make sure this is what you want. Alexander talks about having neck surgery six years ago and having doubts about his future. He has no doubts this time though, because he knows he can be the face of t..

Big Surprise Free Agent Move Coming For Former WWE Universal Champion

That would be a big get. The wrestling world has changed a lot in recent months as WWE has let a ton of wrestlers go from the company. That is the kind of thing that is going to shake things up in a big way and it is going to be interesting go see how it all plays out. Different promotions are trying to pick up wrestlers here and there, and now we know where one might wind up. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Braun Strowman is expected to head to Impact Wrestling once his non-compete clause expires. This comes after Impact Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore said “Braun For Glory” during a recent Twitch stream. Strowman was released from WWE on June 2, meaning he would be allowed to appear at Bound For Glory on October 23, if not earlier. It should be noted that Buddy Murphy was teased for this week’s Impact Wrestling but did not appear, meaning Strowman is far from guaranteed. Impact Wrestling could use him. Check out what might be heading their way: [This post contain..

VIDEO: First Time Ever Match Takes Place Over The Weekend (This Is Cool)

That’s a new one. Independent wrestling can offer a lot of unique options. Sometimes you can find something at an independent wrestling event that you are jut not going to see elsewhere. This might not always be the most thrilling thing, but there are some instances where you see something you never would expect. That was certainly the case over the weekend. Over the weekend, Jerry Lawler defeated nZo, formerly known as Enzo Amore, in a casket match at New England Wrestling Wrestlefest 25 in Poughkeepsie, New York. This was the first ever match between the two. Lawler has been a semi-regular for Northeast Western for most of the last twenty years and is a former Tag Team Champion. Nzo is also a semi-regular for the promotion and wrestles around the independent circuit. It was certainly unique. Check out how the match went, plus both of the two in separate action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click t..

You Might Not Be Seeing As Much Kenny Omega In The Future

So long for now? There are so many wrestling promotions in the world these days that it makes sense to have wrestlers work for more than one at once. It can be interesting to see what they do differently in one place than the other, but sometimes you are getting pretty much the same person. Now though, some people who have been working for multiple promotions might have one less job taking up their time. This week on the debut edition of AEW Rampage, Christian Cage defeated Kenny Omega to become the new Impact Wrestling World Champion. Following the win, Impact Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore sent out a tweet saying that it was time to say goodbye to Omega and his manager Don Callis. While not confirmed, this would suggest that Omega and Callis are done with Impact Wrestling. There has been no announcement of Omega receiving a rematch for the title. It feels like the world is right again. After tonight’s @AEW #AEWRampage the @IMPACTWRESTLING World Title belongs to @Christian4Peeps...

Impact Wrestling Date: July 29, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown We’re back with more Bullet Club Civil War this week as Jay White’s Japanese contingent doesn’t think much of the Elite. That contingent might have gained someone new in Chris Bey this week, which could make for something interesting going forward. White felt like a star last week and hopefully he can keep that up this time. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Jay White showing up and going after the Elite, with Chris Bey saving him to end the show. Scott D’Amore has something big planned for tonight but says everyone is asking him for something. Tommy Dreamer comes up to ask about the #1 contendership but D’Amore walks away on the phone. Former WWE Star Plans To Wrestle Match….On The Moon

Well that would be…different. Traditionally, wrestling matches take place in a ring with four sides and four posts. It is something that has worked for decades now and there is nothing to suggest is needs to be changed. Every now and then you see a match take place elsewhere and there have been some unique locations. Now one wrestler wants to do something completely different. nZo, formerly known as Enzo Amore in WWE, sent out a tweet saying that he wants to have a match on the moon. After seeing that the oldest person in history went into space this week, along with hearing that Jerry Lawler was still wrestling in his 70s, nZo said that one day he would have a match on the moon. nZo said that he wanted to face Finn Balor in the match, though Balor has not responded. Today, an earth woman at 83 years old became the oldest person to ever enter outer space. If Jerry ”The King” Lawler is still at it & wrestling into his 70’s. You can bet your ass, one day, I’ll wrestle on the moon. #..

Impact Wrestling Results – June 17, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: June 17, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Josh Matthews, D’Lo Brown We are done with Against All Odds and the big story is Kenny Omega retaining the World Title over Moose, with Sami Callihan appearing after the match. Don Callis fired Callihan, which seems like it could be quite the story on the road to Slammiversary. There is about a month to go before the show and that means there is time to set things up. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Don Callis and Kenny Omega taking over the company and people getting worried about it. Omega retained the title over Moose at Against All Odds but almost got taken out by Sami Callihan. Callis interrupted it and fired Callihan, sending things even further into chaos. Moose comes up to Scott D’Amore and says he got screwed out of the title at Against All Odds and wants a rematch. D’Amore is too worried about an Anthem representation showing up here to deal with things, because th..

Impact Wrestling Results – June 10, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: June 10, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Josh Matthews, D’Lo Brown It’s the go home show for Against All Odds and that means it is time to focus on Moose vs. Kenny Omega for the World Title. Other than that though, we could use some build for the rest of the car. The rest of the card could use some attention of its own and odds are we might get that this week. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Scott D’Amore is in the ring and brings in AEW owner Tony Khan. Tony thanks him for the welcome but here is Don Callis to join them with the smug starting fast. Callis knows that Kenny Omega is the greatest investment in Khan’s portfolio but there has been talk of Sami Callihan being involved in the title match with Moose. Callihan is blackballed all over this country but D’Amore brings up the Good Brothers interfering and causing chaos all over the place too. Callis doesn’t go for it, instead talking about how Callihan..

VIDEO: Surprise Change Made To Upcoming World Title Match

Change of scenery. One of the more interesting wrestling stories of the year so far as been Impact Wrestling working with All Elite Wrestling. This has included some names appearing outside of their main promotion, including Kenny Omega becoming the Impact Wrestling World Champion back in January. Becoming champion means you have to defend it though, and now Omega is going to have a bit of a unique title defense. This week’s edition of Impact Wrestling featured a special summit between executives Scott D’Amore, Don Callis and Tony Khan. During the segment, an announcement was made that Omega’s title defense against Moose at Against All Odds on June 12 will be held at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville Florida. The rest of the show will take place at Skyway Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. This could be an interesting change.
