BREAKING: WWE Possibly Vacates NXT Women’s Title, New Champion To Be Crowned

Hang it up. There are all kinds of titles under the WWE umbrella and holding one of them can make all the difference in the world. A title reign can change the way a wrestler’s career goes and losing a title can mark quite the fork in the road. There are different ways to go after the loss, but occasionally someone loses a title without losing a match, which is what has happened again. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Pick Your Side: Wrestling Legend Offers Controversial Take On Bloodline vs. Elite The main event of last week’s NXT saw Roxanne Perez defeat Meiko Satomura to retain the NXT Women’s Title. Following the match, Perez collapsed and was taken away from the arena in an ambulance. WWE executive Shawn Michaels has announced that as a result of the incident, there will be a series of qualifying matches tonight, with the winners advancing to a ladder match to crown a new champion at Stand & Deliver on April 1. The title has not been officially vacated. As of Friday Morning Roxanne Perez..

Right Here, Right Now: Independent Tag Team Sends WWE Cease And Desist Letters Over Name

They might want to fix that. While WWE and AEW get the most attention throughout the wrestling world, there are all kinds of wrestlers who work throughout the industry but rarely get the same amount of attention. Those wrestlers work incredibly hard to make a name for themselves without the same backing that comes with working for WWE. Now two of them have a problem with something WWE is doing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: NXT Champion Collapses, Taken Away In Ambulance In an interview with the Hudson Valley Post, independent tag team The Now (Vik Dalishus and Hale Collins) revealed that they have sent two cease and desist letters to WWE over the company’s use of the term “the now” in regards to Austin Theory. Dalishus said that the name has been copyrighted since 2006 and people in WWE know their names. WWE has replied to one of the letters and is looking into the matter. Dalishus also said that their next step is a lawsuit for trademark infringement. The team has been around for ..

WATCH: NXT Champion Collapses, Taken Away In Ambulance

That’s a scary ending. There are all kinds of ways to build up sympathy for a wrestler, all of which can be used for a big moment later. Some of them can be more serious than others, but the question becomes what happens after the initial moment. We saw a more serious one this week at the end of a television show, and now it could be going in a variety of directions. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Double Shot: Monday Night Raw Star And Main Event Officially Set For NXT Stand & Deliver The main event of this week’s NXT saw Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez successfully defend her title against Meiko Satomura. Following the match, the two shook hands before Perez collapsed without being attacked. She was taken out of the arena on a stretcher and put in an ambulance to end the show. There is no word on where this is going or anything to suggest that this is anything more than a storyline. That got serious. Thank Goodness: Jim Ross Reveals How He Saved WWE Hall Of Famer’s Life

Bigger than wrestling. There are all kinds of names in wrestling history, but very few have had the impact as Jim Ross. Over the years, Ross has been an on-air personality as well as a WWE executive who had several responsibilities behind the scenes. Ross is a true legend of wrestling, but now he is telling a story about something he did for a wrestler which was way more important than anything in a ring. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Farewell Then: Wrestling Legend Reveals His Upcoming Retirement Plans During a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross told a story about talking to Sgt. Slaughter in a hotel. Slaughter got in the elevator and collapsed, with Ross believing he had suffered a seizure. Go Your Own Way: Speculation Over William Regal Jumping Back From AEW To WWE

That’s fast. The rise of AEW has changed the wrestling landscape, as there is now a brand new wrestling promotion offering wrestlers a new platform on the national stage. That is something that has been lacking for a very long time now and has resulted in several wrestlers being able to jump from one promotion to another. Now we might be seeing someone going back to their original promotion after making a jump. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: What Happened: More On Kevin Owens/Roman Reigns Incident At Survivor Series This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a segment involving new World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman attacking William Regal, who helped him win the title. Regal was stretchered out of the arena and taken away in an ambulance. According to PWInsider.com, Regal is expected to head back to WWE, despite reports of him signing a three year deal with AEW earlier this year. In addition, according to Fightful Select, there have been talents backstage in AEW who believe Regal is le..

Good For Him: WWE Star Auctioning Off Ring Worn Gear For A Special Cause

That’s a nice thing to do. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to celebrity status, as while they are known for being on television every week, they are still wrestlers at the end of the day. While that does not leave them with a lot of mainstream appeal, there are still several people who are huge fans. Now one wrestler is appealing to some of those fans for help with a good cause. Monday Night Raw’s Finn Balor is auctioning off some ring worn gear to benefit the Essex & Hertfordshire Air Ambulance. Up for auction is a shin guard and knee pad, both signed, along with a signed Topps trading card, plus another lot featuring the same items along with a pair of ring work trunks. The items come with a certificate of authenticity from the Graham Budd auction house, with bidding ending on June 26. Signed ring gear available for a great cause ??https://t.co/vBpRqbgZWz — Finn Bálor (@FinnBalor) June 11, 2022 Opinion: I can always go for something like this as Balor is doing someth..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Considering Major Changes To SmackDown Star

It might be a good idea. Wrestlers have a tricky job as they have to find the right combination of everything to make their career work. This can take a lot of time, but being able to get the right look, the right style, the right persona and more can make all the difference in the world. Now a star might be getting an overhaul, which could be to his benefit. Last week on SmackDown, Happy Corbin attacked Madcap Moss and Pillmanized his throat, resulting in Moss being taken out of the arena in an ambulance. According to Wrestlingnews.co, there have been pitches to change Moss into a more serious character, including dropping his jokes and changing his gear. There is no word on if these pitches have gone anywhere or when Moss will return to television. Opinion: I’ve heard worse ideas than this one, as Moss was only going to get so far under his joke telling character. That is not exactly something that has the longest shelf life and hopefully WWE has something better for him next time...

You Might Not Be Seeing Edge For A Very Long Time

It could be a little while. There are all kinds of ways to take someone out of a wrestling show and that can make for some interesting situations. You never know when you might not be seeing someone again for the time being, though sometimes you can tell that someone is going away for awhile. That was the case last week when a certain legend was knocked out of action for the time being. Last week on SmackDown, Seth Rollins defeated Edge in a Summerslam rematch by using the Stomp. As a result, Edge was stretchered out of the arena with a neck injury and taken away in an ambulance. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this angle was used to get rid of Edge for several months, as he is only on a part time contract. Therefore, it is easier to write Edge off of television with injury angles to explain his absences. Edge has been fairly awesome in his most recent comeback. Check out how he was put on the shelf, plus what he has done recently: [This post contains video, click to..

VIDEO: Top SmackDown Star Written Off Television After Attack

See you next time. There are certain wrestlers under the WWE umbrella who are not around full time. That is not a bad thing, but sometimes you are not going to get to see them every single week. In a way that is a good thing as it keeps their appearances feeling special, but at the same time, it can make for some difficult departures. That was the case this week. This week on SmackDown, Edge faced Seth Rollins in a Summerslam rematch. The match saw Rollins working on Edge’s neck and eventually hitting him with a buckle bomb and the Stomp for the win. After the match, Edge was taken out on a stretch and left the arena in an ambulance. Edge was forced to retire for almost nine years due to neck surgery and now wrestles a limited amount of dates per year. It was a nasty moment. Check out the match plus what Edge has done since returning: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This feel..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – October 5, 2020

Monday Night Raw Date: October 5, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Phillips, Samoa Joe, Byron Saxton The road to the Cell continues as we are now less than three weeks away from the next pay per view. There is little secret to the fact that we are coming up on Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre III inside the Cell for McIntyre’s title, though the match has not been announced just yet. Let’s get to it. Randy Orton is in the back where he talks about how he could have left Clash Of Champions as WWE Champion. Instead, he left in an ambulance. He remembers a little bit about the match, which included Big Show, Christian and Shawn Michaels all interfering and Ric Flair driving the ambulance away. All Orton felt was excruciating pain and then the next night, Drew McIntyre stood in front of the four of them and celebrated. That sight made him sick and then the four of them played poker all night. It was too much for Orton, so he turned out the lights, grabbed some..

WWE Dropping Hints Drew McIntyre Is Losing WWE Championship

So much for that? Back at WrestleMania 36, Drew McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar in the main event to become the new WWE Champion. He has gone on to hold the title for five months since, during which he has become one of the biggest stars that WWE has to offer. As positive as the reign has been, McIntyre has to lose the title at some point and WWE may be hinting at just that. McIntyre is currently in the middle of a heck of a feud with Randy orton, who he defeated to retain the title at Summerslam. Orton was not done with McIntyre yet though and went on to Punt him three times in one night. McIntyre responded with a trio of Claymores a few weeks later. Both attacks resulted in someone being taken away in an ambulance, resulting in an ambulance match at Clash Of Champions. This may go badly for McIntyre. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has been setting up McIntyre to lose his title at Clash Of Champions. This includes Orton losing back to back pay per view matches an..

Clash Of Champions Title Match Changed, Challenger In Doubt

You can still make adjustments. There are a lot of things being set up for Clash Of Champions and every one of them so far is built around a championship match. That is a nice thing to see as title feuds are as easy of a match to put together as you can have. WWE has set up several matches already but one of them is a little more personal. That match will now get a little bonus. The main event of Clash Of Champions will see WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defending against Randy Orton. The two of them have been feuding for over a month now, including McIntyre pinning Orton at Summerslam. Since then, they have traded kicks to the head and put one another on the shelf. Now we are going to be seeing something a little different in their rematch. During this week’s Monday Night Raw, McIntyre challenged Orton to an ambulance match at Clash Of Champions. This came after the two of them have attacked each other over the last several weeks, including both sending the other to the hospital. The ma..

Update on Seth Rollins’ Potential Injury; How Serious Is It?

It had been previously reported that Seth Rollins may have suffered an injury this past week on Raw, as his arm was bloody after being thrown into an ambulance during the final segment of the show. When he made contact with the vehicle, a glass window broke, causing the cut. Will this cause him to miss any time? According to the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rollins has been cleared to appear at this weekend’s house shows, so it would appear that the injuries weren’t serious. You can see a clip of the final segment of Raw below: [This post contains video, click to play] Although he is the current Intercontinental Champion, it is unknown what his role will be at Hell In A Cell at this time. Editor’s Opinion: This is VERY good news. As soon as I saw that the window broke, my first thought was that it was unintentional and could be extremely problematic. Rollins is doing some incredible things right now and having him out due to injury would be very problema..

The Taz Show Recap – NXT Analysis, Kurt Angle Documentary, Where Does Strowman Go From Here? More!

<h1>Blocks 1 & 2:</h1><p>Taz opens today’s show by speaking about the second of four straight press conferences, promoting the upcoming boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. He calls these press conferences riveting entertainment, but if they continue to do the exact same thing it’s going to get old rather quickly. He believes that these two are going to have to get physical at the last press conference, just to give the fans something to hold onto as they build towards the fight in August.</p><p>A listener calls into the show and says that he wishes WWE would just turn Roman Reigns heel, and he believes that even Reigns wants to turn heel at this point. Taz agrees with the caller, and says that for the longest time he thought Reigns was determined to get over as a babyface, but as of late it sure seems like Reigns has embraced the heel overtones of his character.</p><p></p><p>Taz wonders if we’ve seen the last of <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/braun-strowman" title="Braun Strowman">Braun Strowman</a></strong> vs. Roman Reigns, because if WWE wanted to keep Strowman off television for a while they wouldn’t have shown him walking out of ambulance at Great Balls of Fire. The caller says that he has heard rumours that WWE if preparing for a Fatal 4-way match at SummerSlam for Universal Title between Strowman, Reigns, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong>. Taz says he’ll be surprised if that happens.</p><p>Taz expects we’ll see Strowman back on RAW by next Monday, and then we should get some answers as to where WWE is heading with him creatively moving forward.</p>

Storyline Update on Braun Strowman’s Medical Condition

<p>WWE provided the following storyline update on <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/braun-strowman" title="Braun Strowman">Braun Strowman</a></strong>’s medical condition coming out of Monday’s episode of RAW:</p><p><em>While Raw General Manager Kurt <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/angle/" title="Angle">Angle</a></strong> provided an update on Braun Strowman’s condition following the post-Ambulance Match attack from <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/Roman-Reigns" title="Roman Reigns">Roman Reigns</a></strong> at WWE Great Balls of Fire, WWE.com has obtained additional details on The Monster Among Men’s condition.</em></p><p><em>While Strowman miraculously walked out of Dallas under his own power after refusing medical attention, WWE.com can confirm that he is currently in the care of his personal physician and will not disclose the nature of his injuries at this time. WWE Monday Night Raw Results – July 10 2017

<p>Welcome to Monday Night Raw, one night removed from the first-ever Great Balls of Fire PPV!</p><p>The biggest talking-point coming out of Great Balls of Fire last night was the massive segment between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. Braun won the ambulance match after Roman went for a spear and missed, sending him flying into the back of the ambulance allowing Strowman to close the doors. Roman immediately burst out of the ambulance and threw Braun inside, then proceeded to drive the ambulance into the parking lot and ram it into a production truck. Roman pretty much tried to kill Braun and walked away. Paramedics and firemen arrived and opened the ambulance up, allowing Braun to emerge bloody and beaten, but walk away under his own power. It was an incredible sight that would have been right at home in the Attitude Era. Braun looked like an absolute monster, and so did Roman…for the wrong reasons. Roman was undeniably heelish and the announcers played on this, so Roman will surely have to answer to Kurt Angle tonight.</p><p>In the main event of last night’s show, Brock Lesnar defeated <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> after being beat down for the better part of the match. Joe attacked Brock before the bell even rung and smashed him through the announce table. Joe then had the majority of offence throughout the match until Lesnar caught him with an F5 and took home the gold. It was a really good match that never quite reached 5th gear. Word is that we will get a number one contender match tonight between Joe and Roman, leading to a match with Brock at SummerSlam. I think it’s fair to say Joe would be the deserving and preferable winner for most fans.</p><p>Alexa Bliss also retained her Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks last night, in a match in which she dislocated her own elbow to get a cheap shot on Sasha. In the end, Sasha won the match via count-out, allowing Alexa to retain. This certainly allows the feud to continue, seemingly into SummerSlam, where maybe Nia Jax will be inserted. There’s a lot of directions the women’s division could head in right now and it’s pretty cool.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/the-miz" title="The Miz">The Miz</a></strong> also retained his Intercontinental Championship last night against Dean Ambrose once again. Surely this feud is over now, it’s gone on well past its peak and I think interest is pretty much non-existent. The Miz will hopefully move on to a new opponent for SummerSlam, maybe Finn Balor. Speaking of moving on, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sheamus" title="Sheamus">Sheamus</a></strong> & Cesaro beat The Hardy Boyz again in an Iron Man match last night. This has been a great feud but it’s expiration date arrived last night and it’s time for both teams to move on.</p><p>There’s a lot to be excited about for tonight’s Raw as we start our trek towards SummerSlam! Let us know your thoughts or feelings on our Ringside Talk app, or on the Ringside News app! Enjoy the show!</p>

The Big Dog Has Been Unleashed — Now Turn Him Heel

<p>There’s no greater feeling than getting to see something you’ve been waiting a long time for. In the wrestling world, there are few events that get every single person talking. We saw one of those moments transpire in front of our eyes last night. It wasn’t for the faint at <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/heart/" title="heart">heart</a></strong>.</p><p>At Great Balls of Fire, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/Roman-Reigns" title="Roman Reigns">Roman Reigns</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/braun-strowman" title="Braun Strowman">Braun Strowman</a></strong> battled in a brutal Ambulance Match. Both men really did a number on each other, which is going to happen when you hate each other as much as these men did. The one mistake Reigns made was the high jumping spear. Braun moved out of the way and Reigns flew straight into the ambulance, allowing Strowman to secure the victory. As Braun looked to celebrate the victory, Reigns had other plans.</p><p>Getting a burst of energy from who knows where, Roman proceeded to flying out of the ambulance and unleashing a spear on the monster. After connecting with the finisher, Roman throws Braun into the back of the ambulance and drives to the parking lot. Roman contemplates his next move, then goes in for the attack. He throws it into reverse and drives full speed into the back of a trailer. First Roman attacked Braun after the match, then this? Roman hobbles out the ambulance, looking back at the disaster he has caused. Everyone is freaking out at this point, trying to get Braun out of the ambulance. Roman could not care less how Braun was doing. It was evil, it was diabolical, it was sheer genius.</p><p>It was a sick and twisted side that’s yet to be seen.</p>

Heath Slater & Curt Hawkins React to Impromptu Match at Great Balls of Fire

<p>As seen on Sunday’s WWE Great Balls of Fire event, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/heath-slater" title="Heath Slater">Heath Slater</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/curt-hawkins" title="Curt Hawkins">Curt Hawkins</a></strong> were added in an impromptu match while Dallas Fire & Rescue used Jaws of Life to free <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/braun-strowman" title="Braun Strowman">Braun Strowman</a></strong> from the ambulance wreck that was cause by Roman Reigns.</p><p>Both Slater and Hawkins took to their Twitter accounts to react to the match:</p>

WWE Great Balls of Fire Results – July 9 2017

<p>Welcome to the first-ever Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view!</p><p>Tonight’s inaugural PPV will host a dream match between <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship! This is a match people thought they would never see but here we are, and the build has been better than a lot of recent Lesnar matches. If WWE ever saw this as a throwaway match to keep Brock busy, that all changed when Samoa Joe grabbed the microphone. Over the past 4-5 weeks, Samoa Joe has turned many heads with his incredible intensity and mic skills, which anyone will recognise if they watched his early TNA and ROH work. Joe is one of the best in the world and he more than deserves this match, and WWE has no doubt recognised his incredible work. It’s hard to know what to expect from the actual match tonight but it has the potential to be an all-time classic.</p><p>The other main-event worthy match for tonight is the Ambulance Match between Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns. Braun returned from injury several months early and resumed his tyranny on Raw and Roman Reigns in particular. The two went right back to beating the crap out of each other and tonight we have a number one contender’s match between them in which the stipulation is, ironically, to send your opponent to the hospital. This is kind of a dumb match because it’s supposedly barbaric but you’re sending your opponent to get medical attention; it’s like a Last Man Standing match but with more care and concern for the other guys well-being. Anyway, I expect this to be a fun spot-fest that Braun should win.</p><p>Also on tonight’s card, The Hardy Boyz challenge <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sheamus" title="Sheamus">Sheamus</a></strong> & Cesaro in a 30-minute Iron Man match, which should serve as the end to this long-running feud. These two teams have never failed to deliver inside the ring but fans never seem overly excited with the feud. Personally I expect this match to be fantastic and really get the crowd going. Elsewhere, Alexa Bliss defends her title against Sasha Banks in a surprising turn. It seemed obvious that Nia Jax was on her way to facing Alexa for the belt – the story-line was writing itself – but for some reason WWE decided to go with Sasha Banks instead. It might not have the story behind it but these two could have a really good match; Bliss isn’t on Banks’ level of in-ring ability but she’s no slouch either. Regardless, I would expect a screwy finish that allows Alexa to retain the feud to continue!</p><p>Seth Rollins battles Bray Wyatt, Neville puts his Cruiserweight Championship on the line against Akira Tozawa, Enzo Amore faces his former brother Colin Cassidy, and Dean Ambrose looks to take back the Intercontinental Championship from <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/the-miz" title="The Miz">The Miz</a></strong> and his entourage. That’s a stacked card that has the potential to be the red-brand’s best of the year so far. Don’t forget to check out the Ringside News and Ringside Talk apps, where you can chat about tonight’s PPV on a dedicated social platform with all the other marks like me! Enjoy the show!</p>
