Join the field? We are about a week away from this year’s WWE Royal Rumble and that means it is time to really hammer home the show’s namesake matches. The Royal Rumbles are two of the most important matches of the year as we will likely find out the WrestleMania main events. The pool of potential winners may have grown again, this time with two surprising names. According to PWInsider.com, both Gunther and NXT Champion Bron Breakker will be in St. Louis for next weekend’s Royal Rumble, though it is not clear what they will be doing. At the moment, neither of the two has been advertised for the Royal Rumble match. Instead, the two are expected to be “on deck” and ready to work the event if they are needed for some reason. A few months later, Almas was the NXT Champion and it was not long before the duo were on SmackDown Live. Rumor: Andrade Cien Almas Reportedly Not Happy With Position In WWE

Can you blame him? Earlier this year, Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega were still down in NXT, where Almas was defending the NXT Title against Johnny Gargano at Takeover: Philadelphia in an instant classic. The call to the main roster came a few months later just after WrestleMania 34, but it hasn’t exactly gone well since then. As it turns out, Almas has noticed what’s been happening. According to a report by Super Luchas by way of Wrestlingnews.co, Almas isn’t happy with his current placement in WWE. Almas was called up to the main roster in early April but didn’t wrestle on SmackDown Live for over a month. In his time on the main roster, he has wrestled less than twenty times on television with no title shots and hasn’t won a match since September 11, when he defeated R-Truth on SmackDown Live. What Is The Relationship Between Andrade Cien Almas And Zelina Vega?

Sometimes it just clicks. Earlier this year, Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega were called up to the main roster after a very successful run in NXT. The two instantly clicked and have become a big time deal on SmackDown Live. They work very well together and know how to compliment each others’ talents very well. Of course that brings up a certain question from fans and Vega has answered it pretty plainly. Vega recently appeared on Lilian Garcia’s Chasing the Glory podcast to discuss a variety of topics, mainly focusing on her current partnership with Almas. During the interview she dispelled the rumor that the two of them are dating, saying instead that it’s more like the two of them are brother and sister who work very well together. That’s quite the spot to be in. One of the most entertaining things to do in WWE is seeing which talent will be brought up from NXT to the main roster. You can often guess who it’s going to be, though every now and then there might be a surprise. This spring we saw a pair of talents being brought up from NXT and they’ve certainly hit the ground running. It turns out that someone has been impressed. According to Fightful, Vince McMahon is very impressed by Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega, especially due to Almas’ work with Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles in recent weeks. Almas was brought up with no particular plan but McMahon being impressed with Almas’ main event matches would suggest that he will be wrestling near the top of the card going forward as well. It Just Keeps Going. Changes Made To Summerslam Card, Kickoff Show Grows

They almost got there. With Sunday’s Summerslam card all but set, there wasn’t much room to add anything. The show already had eleven matches on the main card alone, which is pushing it even on a four hour pay per view. That being said, WWE has never seemed to mind adding in as much stuff as they can, which is why some changes were made to the Summerslam card this week on Monday Night Raw. As announced on this week’s show, the Kickoff Show will now feature three matches instead of the previously announced one. In addition to the already announced mixed tag between Rusev/Lana vs. Andrade Cien Almas/Zelina Vega, two title matches were added. Now, the show will also feature the new match of the B Team defending the Raw Tag Team Titles against the Revival and the previously announced (for the main card) Cruiserweight Title match between champion Cedric Alexander and Drew Gulak. One of our readers, William Moore (aka “the man with two words for a name”) attended the July 17, 2018 Smackdown Live show from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Below is his review from the event and some of things you didn’t see on TV: TO confirm a previous post from Wrestling Rumors the show did start off with a pre live dark match of the USOS vs The BAR. This match was about 10 minutes in length. It was a typical back and forth match with the USOS winning the match with about 5 minutes to spare before going live. The arena was only about 75% full with a good majority of the 2nd level covered. Which is a shame that the arena could not sell out with it only being about a 8.500 seat arena. After the match the ring crew hurried and put a fresh cover on the ring. They played a replay of the drop the mic episode that featured the Bellas, Alicia Fox, and Carmella. It took a long time for Andrade “Cien” Almas to find his footing in NXT. His stint as the smiling babyface didn’t work at all. His initial heel turn didn’t change his status either, but Zelina Vega and a mean streak turned him from a huge flop into the NXT Champion. After WrestleMania 34, Almas was moved to SmackDown Live. Thus far, he’s just been showcased in squash matches to give the WWE Universe a taste of what he can do. His future remains unclear and many fans believe he’s going to face some major problems. Drew McIntyre has returned to the main roster of WWE. At NXT Takeover: War Games, Drew McIntyre was injured in his championship loss to Andrade Almas and the former NXT Champion has now returned to action but on Raw. On the first night of the Superstar Shakeup, Dolph Ziggler switched brands to Raw. He came to the ring to address his arrival and was interrupted by the members of Titus Worldwide but Ziggler would say he did not come to Raw alone. Last year at NXT TakeOver: Chicago Tommaso Ciampa turned his back on his long time best friend Johnny Gargano.
