Wrestling Legend Reveals He Occasionally Needs A Wheelchair Due To Health Issues

That’s a horrible way to go. Wrestlers are quite the athletes and you see them getting in the ring week in and week out, putting all kinds of miles on their body. At some point that is going to cause some problems for everyone involved and there is not much of a way around it. That is the case for a wrestling legend, who is having some serious health issues in his retirement. During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry and AEW broadcaster Mark Henry revealed that he is not able to wrestle anymore due to nerve damage in his back. As a result of the nerve damage in his sacroiliac joint, Henry has had to occasionally take a wheelchair through the airport. While Henry’s doctor has told him that the issue could be fixed through surgery, Henry should wait until he can no longer walk and use surgery as his last resort. That’s a wrestling story. There are certain stories that you hear that could only exist in wrestling. A business that is built around carrying on a huge lie throughout every match and show makes for a rather unique situation. Some wrestlers are more famous for their stories than their in-ring abilities but others are known for both. That is the case again, though the story does not have the happiest ending. There are almost no legends in wrestling history on the same level as Ric Flair. Mauro Ranallo Confirms The Truth Behind His SmackDown Live Departure

Before working for NXT as a commentator, Mauro Ranallo was the voice of SmackDown Live. According to Ringside News, there may be a different reason to what other websites have claimed. Ranallo left the company after working with SmackDown Live. Many outlets, including ourselves at one point, suggested based off what we had heard that Ranallo had possibly left due to JBL. WWE Stars Experiencing Travel Issues

In what was a long week for some, just got longer. After traveling to Saudi Arabia for the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event in what is nearly a 12-hour flight, immediately after the show concluded this past Friday the wrestlers who competed at the event where transported on planes from Saudi Arabia to the United States at midnight. According to PWInsider, a majority of the talents made it back to the U.S.Saturday afternoon coming through New York City's 'JFK' airport before getting on the flight that would take them to their respective homes. For some of the talents they only had 24 hours to enjoy home as they had to fly out Sunday to get ready for the TV tapings in Canada this week. The site notes that some talents were scheduled to fly back to New York and then connect at 'LaGuardia Airport' for a flight to Montreal. Alberto El Patron Remains Suspended

<p>During today’s Global Force Wrestling conference Call with Dutch Mantell and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/bruce/" title="Bruce">Bruce</a></strong> Prichard, it was noted that Alberto El Patron’s suspension has not been lifted, despite him being cleared as a suspect in the Orlando airport incident with <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/paige" title="Paige">Paige</a></strong> from earlier this month.</p><p>It was noted during the call that the company is conducting their own internal investigation and once they come to a conclusion, a decision will be made.</p><p><em>“We’re doing an internal review of it because it’s something we don’t take lightly,”</em> Mantel said. <em>“When that’s completed, we will release our findings.”</em></p>

Alberto El Patron Stepping Down as Combates America President

<p>Combate C.E.O. Campbell McLaren stated in a recent interview that Alberto El Patron (Jose Rodriguez) will be stepping down from his figurehead role as the president of Combate Americas, according to <a href="http://fightnetwork.com/law/combate-americas-c-e-o-states-alberto-el-patron-to-step-down-as-president/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Fight Network</a>.</p><p><em>“He’s probably stepping back his official roles from Combate and he’s going to focus on more on wrestling for the next year or two. It’s a very challenging enterprise and I <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/think/" title="think">think</a></strong> it’s very, very hard on the body and difficult to do. Very physical, very athletic, so I he’s kind of <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/asked/" title="asked">asked</a></strong> me if he can step away and with Saraya, focus on wrestling”.</em></p><p>As previously noted, Patron was suspended by Global Force Wrestling following reports of a domestic battery incident at the Orlando International Airport earlier this month.</p>

Alberto El Patron No Longer Being Investigated for Airport Incident

<p>Alberto El Patron is no longer being investigated for the airport incident that went down earlier this month.</p><p><a href="http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/airport-alberto-patron-not-suspect/#.WXJiQ4jys2w" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Pro Wrestling Sheet</a> reports that they were informed by a representative from the Orlando Police Department that El Patron is no longer being investigated and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/paige" title="Paige">Paige</a></strong> is the one that will be charged with battery if authorities decide to move forward with the case. The <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/state/" title="State">State</a></strong> Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case before a final decision is made.</p><p>Pro Wrestling Sheet noted that they reached out to Global Force Wrestling regarding his suspension being lifted now that the charges have been dropped.</p><p>We will keep you posted if we hear anything new regarding El Patron or Paige’s situation.</p>

Paige Might Be Charged With Battery Over Airport Incident

<p><a href="http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/paige-police-suggest-charged-airport/#.WW-qGIjys2z" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Pro Wrestling Sheet</a> reports that <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/paige" title="Paige">Paige</a></strong> could possibly be charged with battery in the incident that involved Alberto El Patron at the airport a few <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/weeks/" title="weeks">weeks</a></strong> back. It will be up to the State Attorney’s office to make the final decision.</p><p>El Patron was originally being investigated for the charge and his investigation is still not complete. A representative from the Orlando PD told the site the following statement:</p><p><em>“OPD detectives have <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/found/" title="found">found</a></strong> that probable cause exists to charge Saraya Bevis with Battery (Domestic Violence). Detectives have sent the information to the State Attorney’s Office for review and the SAO will determine whether to file charges in the case.”</em></p>

Paige Claims Alberto El Patron Never Hit Her

<p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/paige" title="Paige">Paige</a></strong> issued the following statement on Twitter regarding the incident at the Orlando airport. In the statement she claims that Alberto El Patron never hit her and she’s never hit him, however admits that she has charges against her for throwing a drink on El Patron.</p><p><em>“Alberto didn’t want me to say full story because he didn’t want people to know and I didn’t want people to know that I threw a drink on him. But the full story is. I had a phone call saying my uncle is in a bad way. I’m crying outside the restaurant. I go in, alberto is hugging me. I’m a little sensitive and we start bickering about something so small. I say I’m leaving and he says something that I won’t write on here but it wasn’t nice and I, even though I shouldn’t have done it. I threw a drink in his face because I was so angry. Again. Shouldn’t have done it. It was in front of a lot of people. I walk out. He follows me a few seconds later and gets the cops and security and a crazy lady decides to <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/leave/" title="leave">leave</a></strong> whatever she’s doing to follow us and invade our privacy in the completely low way. Only low life people would do.</em></p><p><em>Anyways. It was ME who was being held for battery charges because I threw a drink on him. No. he never touched me and no I never hit him with a glass 3 times like the internet in all their glory is making out. Its completely ridiculous how one story can spiral out of control. Oh and guess what internet. He smelt like beer BECAUSE I THREW A BEER ON HIM. Nothing more. Nothing less. No one got arrested.
