He deserved it. The most tragic wrestling story of the year so far is the sudden death of Jay Briscoe, who was killed earlier this week in a car accident. The accident has caused people to look back at everything Briscoe did in his career, which included a variety of championships and accomplishments. That’s an accomplishment. With so may stars in WWE, it can be difficult to find someone who can stand out above the rest. There are very few ways to prove that someone is head and shoulders above the remainder of the roster. One of the biggest ways is to see who is bringing in the most money in some fields and now one star has broken through to the top spot in the company. According to F4WOnline.com, Drew McIntyre has become the top merchandise seller in WWE, overtaking the Bloodline. While the stable has been a perennial #1 merchandise mover, McIntyre has overtaken them in recent weeks. There is no word on what merchandise is counted in the judging. Verdict Reached In Randy Orton Tattoo Trial, Amount Of Money Awarded

And that’s that. WWE has long since become the biggest wrestling company in the world and as a result the company has more money than they know what to do with most of the time. That is quite the accomplishment, but it also means that they have a target on them with others trying to take some of that money from them. Now someone is going to, but it might not be what they had in mind. Back in 2018, tattoo artist Catherine Alexander sued WWE, Take-Two Interactive Software and the developers of the WWE2K video game series. The suit was filed claiming copyright infringement over tattoos that Alexander created for Randy Orton, which appeared in the game. WWE and the game’s producers claimed that the tattoos fell under fair use while Alexander claimed that she never gave permission for the tattoos to be used. They Might Have A Point: Group Of WWE Women Reportedly Unhappy With TV Time

Can you blame them? The WWE women’s division has come so far along that it is almost hard to fathom just where things were before. The division has gone from little more than time filler to a portion of the roster that has headlined just about everything in WWE. That is a crazy accomplishment, but as time goes on, it seems that things are not as happy as they once were. According to Fightful Select, a group of women had complained to WWE about the lack of women being used on SmackDown earlier this year. With Charlotte taking time off and the returns of Asuka and Lacey Evans, the group was waiting to see how things went on SmackDown. In addition, the departures of Naomi and Sasha Banks has allowed for more women to be used. Ronda Rousey’s return has also helped, as she is willing to work with a variety of women on the roster. That’s a great sign. There are a lot of injuries in wrestling and so many of them can be completely different than the rest. Sometimes they are built up over time but thers are all at once. On the March 11 edition of SmackDown, Big E. suffered a broken neck when Ridge Holland suplexed him on the floor, with Big E. landing on his head. This week, a fan sent Big E. a message on twitter, saying that they were praying for him every day. However, those titles are eventually lost, with the championship changing hands. There are very few accomplishments in wrestling that last forever, but now some legends have achieved one of the most prestigious honors in the industry. Wrestling Legend Receives Very Special Award

I think he has earned it. Wrestling is a unique sport compared to its mainstream counterparts, as the accomplishments that wrestlers win are predetermined. In addition, the wrestlers are not permanent champions as they will lose any titles they win to someone else. There is very little that is seen as a true lifetime achievement but one legend has earned one of his own. As revealed on Twitter, Terry Funk has officially received the Stanley Weston Lifetime Achievement Award from Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Funk was presented with the award by his friend Manny Fernandez. Funk began wrestling in 1965 and wrestled his last match in 2017. He has been living in an assisted living facility in recent months due to having troubles with his memory. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured the surprise debut of Keith Lee, who signed with the company after being released from WWE last year. Lee defeated Isiah Kassidy in his debut match, which featured Lee bieling Kassidy across the ring. The match has received some attention online, which prompted Lee to officially dub the move the Uncle Phil Biel. A wrestler will be able to be known as a former champion, but there is something special about not having the ‘former” part attached. There are not many honors that last forever, but now one promotion is trying to do something about that. Ring of Honor has announced the creation of its own Hall of Fame, with the first inductee being announced next week. After that, there ill be a new inductee announced every Tuesday in February. There is no word on when the first induction ceremony will take place. Ring of Honor debuted in February 2002 and will be marking its 20th anniversary, though the company is currently on hiatus and expecting to return in April. It’s a family thing. There are certain wrestling families that have been around for a very long time and whose names are going to be immediately known. Some of these families go on for more than one generation as some of the wrestlers’ children get into the business as well. That was the case again recently, and now one of the new generation has an accomplishment to share with the family. The main event of this week’s NXT New Year’s Evil saw Bron Breakker defeated Tommaso Ciampa to win the NXT Title. WWE has posted a video from after the show went off the air, featuring Breakker celebrating with his father, Rick Steiner. The video’s caption identifies Steiner by name, though Breakker has never been directly identified as part of the Steiner family on NXT TV. Ciampa also shook Steiner’s hand as he left the arena.
